Hi there Moneydork.
This is the 1st of 1 caches we didn't find today. [:(!]
We spent quite some time here at around 2:11:00 PM, but we just couldn't locate your cache. It's either not there, a very clever hide or we are just suffering from "cache blindness", so here's a DNF from us.
Regards
Ian and Penny

Weekend in Whyalla with Freddo and Laighside Legends[?] Don't mind if I do
Headed out Friday morning and got home Sunday night.
All up 2 events attended , 4 DNFs and 95 caches found over the 3 days
Good company and even a row boat ride too [^]
Some fun in Munyaroo Park with some fantastic geocachers and a chance to meet some geocachers who I haven't met before
We even managed 2 FTFs on our trip up
After a good long search, the call was made to the CO who confirmed that we had been looking in the correct spot!
The cache was MIA
So with CO's permission, a replacement cache was left at the Mars Attack Rock

Found It!
We found the rock and poked a stick in the hole. No cache was found. The CO was called and a replacement was organised. After signing, it was placed in the rock behind a rock...

Found on the ground not sure where it's meant to be so put in a hidy hole look down low
Doing a Whyalla & surrounding area run with Team Waldron & Trail 06.
This was one of the many we tried.
Container is obviously stuck in the hole & we did not have the right tools
I'll send a note to some local cachers to hopefully sort this one out

On a 3 day caching expedition to Whyall and beyond with Trail06 and The White Dog Gang.
All log books signed TW, T6 and TWDG.
We started in Adelaide went to Whyalla, Pt Lowy and Port Bonython, Iron Knob and Iron Baron, Kimba.
Apologies for the generic logs.
We could see it but not retrieve it.

Out enjoying my last full day in Whyalla. Easily found but even with a stick I couldn't get the container (which was much larger than the micro I was expecting) to budge. When some visitors arrived at the house across the road I decided to take a quick photo and call it quits. I can describe the location and container if required. Thanks for the clever hide.
Found it.. Couldn't write on it as a spider was guarding the cache.. Too scared. Will come back to add my name. TFTC.
A quick find. Is this a rock, a sculpture or a bit of both?? Strange. But thanks for the smilie.
I was riding around the tracks behind the fences this morning and could see the rock from a few hundred metres away.
I headed for it
Now that is not a space rock.
A rock that size entering the Earth's atmosphere would have signs of ablation on the outside, and there would be a really good sized crater surrounding it.
Probably a good 150 metres across !!
Sure some of the local houses look like they have been hit by a meteorite, but this ain't it
A short search around found me the cache.
Well hidden actually.
And probably only a geocacher of two foot high Martian would notice the cache [^]

Today was more of the FTF trail, the August trail and others while at Whyalla for a few days.
Not many muggles around and not many cachers here lately either.
Most co-ords were good which made them quicker to find.
This had me thinking for a while, then I spotted it from the right angle.
Thanks for the cache & your part of the series Moneydork,

Camped at Whyalla, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
Out and about today to grab a few caches, before the rain started.
We liked this one, a bit of thought has gone into the placement of the cache.
Many thanks for the hunt today, Moneydork.

Found while geocaching with Ferret52. Sorry about late log only recently decided to sign up. TFTC
A Great weekend away doing the Googs Track with good friends. Lots of different scenery and a lot of fun
We had a great time seeing some good ranges of different styles of caches now it was time to grab a few caches around the Whyalla area.
Thanks for putting these caches out for us to find Moneydork

After completing our trek along the Googs Track and back through the Gawler Ranges, it was time to rack up some numbers in the Whyalla area - gee there are a lot of caches around here.
Spent the morning around Whyalla before heading north to Port Augusta and home. TFTC.
Thanks to the local Iron Triangle cachers for the hides. I still have more to find but may need another couple of days

Needs maintenance. Cache was lying on the ground with og book missing. Have replaced it where we think it should be.
AN iteresting item. I should have had this one a bit quicker than I did as I located one half of the hide but didn't think of the rest. Nicely done.

Liked this hide, unsure why this stone is here but should be helpful when Mars attacks. TFTC.

Not too hard a find: quickly spotted by the eagle-eyed Landlockedsailor-ess, but DO BE CAREFUL - the redback spiders were all around in droves! DON'T put your fingers anywhere without a careful look!
Thanks, Moneydork. A bit far from the Land of the Long White Cloud, eh?

South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
Today we were doing the FTF trail between Whyalla and Iron Knob. There was time for some other caching at both ends. Some of these aches were fiendish today and we had an annoying number of DNFS. Everyone has done a great job of placing a great variety of caches and we had a great day.
Thanks.

Grabbed with Albida on our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.
Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.

6562. [green]OF course and because of my height I sometimes miss things that shorter people see easier. And it's too often winglen finds caches where I've already looked... [/green]

Cool rock. McPhan had a good look whislt I turned the geomobile around and I found it for him in its hole almost straight away. Don't often get the chance to brag like this.
Thanks Moneydork.
Thanks Moneydork.
Loved that movie. This rock would be too big for the rovers to get over.......Found on the "I'm not Diving with the Great White Sharks trip". A great day weather wise and caching wise.
Thanks to Moneydork and clear skies from TeamAstro.

Yakcm had dropped us back at the caravan park after a very pleasant few hours caching with plans to meet again this evening with moneydork to do a night cache. To fill in the time while we were waiting for it to get dark we decided to look for some more caches. This is a very unexpected sight, we were really hoping that it wouldn't explode while we were here and in case it was a listening device we searched in silence so as not to give anything away. Fortunately the cache was found and we are happy to say that our name is now in the log.
Many thanks Moneydork for the cache in a very strange location.

Geodaughter found this one - she's lower to the ground than me. Didn't have a pen (was on a ride around the block, not a caching trip) but found a discarded texta nearby that still worked! TFTC.
We went out for a trip around town with On Cache Patrol and her son had it in his hand before we finished getting there. TFTC
On one final run around town before heading back to Melbourne.
An easy find, but I had to take a discrete hide behind the martian artifact when the people across the road arrived home. Work hi-vis doesn't work in ones favour in these situations!

First Geocache found, took my son with me. Hard to resist as it was practically on our doorstep. We've been scratching our heads watching people check it out for the last week or so and wondering what on earth was going on! Good incentive to finally take the plunge and have a go at this weird hobby woodsy5 keeps on telling me about Thanks.
Was chatting to a mate today who lives directly across the road from the rock! He was expressing his curiosity as to why so many people keep turning up, looking at the rock, and then driving off! I explained what was going on and he just laughed!
Found it easily while on an early morning bike ride, even before 7am on a Sunday morning there were still muggles around, but they soon left the area and the cache was quickly found signed and rehidden. TFTC.
No muggles today. Tom made a quick grab in the first place he looked. TFTC Moneydork. For the record, this is find #1111 for us!
Not to brag or anything but it was in the first place I looked. Kev on the other hand was happy to do some gardening for a while there.
Muggled out today by a very inquisitive (and unhappy-looking) neighbour! We didn't hang around too long. I think the muggle wandered over to have a look after we left, so I hope the cache is ok!
As with every one else clammed joint silver, would have attempt gold it was not for bloody work. Oh well got to let bunya get some as well
It certainly does stand out, doesn’t it? I’m not sure about an alien listening device, but the people living opposite might wonder about all the attention the rock will get in the near future!
FTF at 1106. Thanks Moneydork.

An hour or so after I’d found and logged the cache I realised that I’d meant to see what the sign on the rock said and hadn’t done so, and so I went back to GZ. Well, I couldn’t read the sign, but I found myself in the middle of a mini-event of silver seekers! Nice to meet you all. I also wondered if I’d re-hidden the cache properly, but was told it was OK as it was!

Silver for us, in group find. Nice to meet other cachers including the infamous Bunya! Nice hide. The purpose of the monument is less obvious - maybe it is from Mars? TFTC

As Moneydork acknowledged http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=43337d4d-1d52-4837-bfcf-35c679bbb011 he has done the same, as have quite a few others in the history of geocaching.

WOW where did that one come from? claiming group silver and bronze as geokid ( no she wasn't wagging school) with her little hands located and retrieved the cache. Thankyou Moneydork and nice to meet some other cachers.
