10-Aug-24
Over visiting from NZ for a while and was fortunate to be invited along to an event today and to join in some pre and post event caching with a (as it turns out - mad ) group of local cachers .. After doing a nearby Wherigo, we headed off to this one. I guess we could have taken an easier way in .. Found as part of the group today. TFTC

10-Aug-24
After playing some games over on the fields it was noticed that this cache was not too far away. Following our phones the group that had formed after this mornings event headed off into the bush. Of course, as is always the way, a little bush bashing was undertaken before noticing the much easier route on the well defined track! In no time we were at GZ all spread out in the search until our prize was spotted. What a unique cache! The log was signed as Anan to conserve space and the cache replaced just a little bit off centre to avoid being too obvious to any muggles. We then exited all the way via the track. TFTC and a fav point for this uniqueness.

Early morning start for a day of caching with Peppa on the northside. I had no list of caches but Peppa managed to find some we both haven't found.

Looking at the map I noticed this cache and Peppa agreed to make a slight detour to this one. Made a quick find. Log signed cache returned.

We had come here about a month ago, but the cache was missing then. We saw that it had been replaced so we decided to return today as it’s a nice part of the world to take a walk in. At GZ the cache was quickly found and we signed where we thought was appropriate. A novel logbook. Thanks barbbowman

Out with geofriends today having a great time.

Headed into the park to find a few caches in the area. This area has changed since we were in here last time.

This took a little time to find and seeing it had only been found today it gave us more incentitive to go and find it.

Found after a morning visit to the Carseldine markets. Nice easy stroll and a tiny bit of bush walking along a geotrail. Brushed a few spider webs away. Weren’t sure what it was we were looking for but we persisted. Geodog helped us out. Another smiley on the map. TFTC, found with Sarah.

This morning, I had an early start meeting georode for a technical tree climb and a few other geocaches that georode had on his target list in Fitzgibbon. Once the ropes were set in the respective tree, we each rotated through the 13.3 m climb. Following that adventure, it was a 15 min drive east, where we took a walk to a few caches. It was then time to head to work, so I made a swift exit and return to home.

Whilst passing this location, I made the quick duck into the bush to grab this cache, as georode had previously found this one some time ago. After a short search, I found something a little different, and soon found the cache container - an interesting construction! The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks barbbowman for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

13-Sep-21
Like everyone else before me, I investigated the obvious feature and came away empty handed… then I resorted to looking for the hint mentioned in the logs… while standing there I moved my eyes from the phone and spotted the appropriately themed cache…

Tftc…

Many moons ago I thought the place where we parked was a university. I’m sure I had been here for a Mensa study back when I was a kid. The days of Mensa and I were broken amenably on the same day with a conscious uncoupling.

Anyway we followed the awesome new path until we were confronted with some temporary fencing blocking off the area. Thankfully some vandal had seen fit to kick in a few panels so we were able to progress.

Like everyone else we were drawn to the obvious feature and couldn’t get away from it. After reading a few logs Mrs Woodyrothwell was enlightened and spied something suspicious. tftc

15-Aug-21
Out with swearah doing a wherigo close to here so decided we should get this while in the area of course. There is construction and what not going on but were this is isn't full on so it was safe enough to go through.

At the geozone we looked around for a little in the obvious spot but couldn't find anything then we found something that looked promising from another log hmm is that it but no it wasn't. About to walk out with DNF when i happened to notice something grabbed it and bam geocache in hand and the hint then made sense. I was laughing hard and was so happy !! I don't know if it was meant to be where i found it tho but placed it roughly where i found it.

Fav point for me because the cache fun and i really enjoyed this hunt.

15-Aug-21
Stephyy and I were doing a nearby whereigo, when she coaxed me to slip through the fence and head off to find this one. So naughty, but yeah - ok!

At GZ, we looked in the wrong place mostly, and even found something pictured in an old log, but no cache.
We were just about to head out with a DNF, when Stephyy spotted the very cool cache close to where we were looking. Ooooh - good one!! Very fitting with the hint. I’d been all around that area but clearly I’m blind.

Thanks for the cool cache, barbbowman

Easy cache. TFTC

19-Sep-20
After a fun bush bash nearby, had this one targeted next, but path is currently closed to due to construction. Next time ...

16-Aug-20
This one seems to be inaccessible at the moment due to construction works...

04-May-20
After eventually emerging from the bush, which did take a while, it was a nice casual walk to this one that didn’t require much bush bashing at all. Spotted the container right off the bat, but sitting in the open, so I’ve placed it back where it should be.

Find #906 - TFTC

29-Mar-20
Out chasing some target caches today, this one just fell into the path of the one i was chasing, oh i just can't say no!

easy find, tho i did find it strange to find a bat living there lol.

I was out and about with my mum before karate. We went for a walk in the bush near home and found this cool cache. TFTC

21-Mar-20
I am really loving this series of caches so I brought the geokid out with me for a pre-karate adventure. After a good old bush bash, the cache was in hand. All in good order and plenty of room for future logs. Thanks for the mornings entertainment.

credit to niko pens but … it is still working

19-Jun-19
I think I found it. It was certainly different!

02-Jun-19
Only us two ladies had not yet logged this one so decided to grab whilst in the area carting our oversized TOTT. The log has been termite attacked and will need replacing. We managed to scrawl our names though! TFTC

02-Jun-19
Wandering around his morning cleaning up a couple of close caches. The ‘log’ for this one has almost been eaten! It will need replacing shortly as it was very delicate to handle.

10-Apr-19
Fun filled day full of laughter, teamwork and sheer determination travelling far and wide to help fill in some gaps in our grid.
Puzzles were great, few PAF's were required and overall a fun time had with E_Smiley, EatSleepCacheRepeat_, teamdfl and Izzy.
Beaut hide and a favorite point from me.

10-Apr-19
Out for a day of mainly finding some caches with a lot of favourite points for the Caching Carnival.

I had been distracted by a dodgy bunch of cachers who were out doing a D/T run. I had done one cache earlier with them and we met up near here for another tree climb cache or two.

This one was on our way, so we made the tiny detour to hunt. We almost missed it, it was blending in to the background so well.

This was one of the Doctors from my childhood and one of my favourites. A fitting theme to this one. Cool

Out finding favourites and also giving them out to most deserving caches.

10-Apr-19
TFTC barbbowman. Very clever but slowly rotting away though .
A favourite point still.

I had a fantastic day today collecting a bunch of caches that have been on my to-do list for a while, and this was one of them! I brought geogirl, Izzy along with me and we both had an amazing time canoeing, hiking, climbing, crawling, and laughing
Thanks E_smiley, Snickersallan, and TeamDFL for helping make the day so fun!
The cache has seen better days, but still signable! Tftc

08-Sep-18
Found after a long walk round. Started on the wrong side of the creek of course. After a walk in the bush located the go just as it began to rain and then found rotting remains of the cache. Made best mark I could on it and got the flock out of there.

18-Aug-18
It’s International Geocaching Day today and I’ve been saving this one for such an occasion. What a lovely spot. I think I picked the right time of day to visit - beautiful golden light and hundreds of birds to keep me company. I loved the ‘log’ I got to sign. TFTC, a fave point for you ️

22/6/18 5:24 pm Find #1820
Well yesterday was Winter Solstice, so we've officially had the shortest day of the year. However that really didn't help me with daylight hours today and my need for a cache after work.
A quick glance at the map and this one looked like it might be doable, but the light was certainly fading fast. I only had to drive around 6 mins to get to the closest access spot before beginning my walk, but by the time I got to GZ, it was pretty dark, and my phone light was all I had. Thankfully I knew the coords would be pretty good, and between that and the hint, I soon spied where I needed to investigate further.
And when I first looked in that spot I was disappointed to see it did not hold what I was after, until my light, and my eyes, fell on something else that looked a little out of place. Please tell me it is what I'm after....
Yes! Score! Using the implement supplied, I signed my initials and the date before replacing the rather fragile cache back in its spot (the grabby bit is quite broken, but all still workable at this stage).
And then I took off at brisk speed back to the car and off home.
Thanks for the cache barbbowman.

25-May-18
Cool cache, i havn't seen one like this before. As mentioned in other logs something has been eating it but i managed to sign. TFTC Smile

08-Apr-18
At time, I wondered if I was taking the right route in as it seemed quite overgrown but I couldn't see any other way. Found the cache no problems but it seems like the termites have found it too and taken a liking to it. It's fair to say there is not much of it left.

07-Apr-18
Met by swarms of mozzies, so signed as quickly as I could. TFTC

15-Jan-18
Awesome. Might need a clean up. But neat.

22-Dec-17
Very clever! Haven't done one of these in a long time. TFTC

23-Oct-17
We were in the area to hunt for a puzzle cache. Nice idea but it seem that some creapy crawleys like it, too.
TFTC, barbbowman

21-Sep-17
Out for a walk after work with rusty my geo dog. Never been here before. So many different tracks. Rusty loved the walk and i got a nice surprise to find a different cache i have never seen before. Thanks barbowman for placing this cache here for us to enjoy.

06-Sep-17
Nice walk got it TFTC

06-Sep-17
Wow clever cache

06-Jul-17
We came out looking a puzzle we thought we had solved only to realise we had miss entered the digits but realised this was close so headed over. We soon spotted the hide complete with special pen but it looks like nature is starting to get the better of this one although nice idea. We signed the log and re hid. TFTC.

07-Jun-17
Another clever hide from barbbowman that took some finding as I mid interpreted the hint. Termites like it. TFTC:-)

My 1st find of the day out with Wombles and Co. After a nearby dnf and while we were in the area we decided to go for this one and found within mins, what a great idea for a cache container and also logbook we enjoyed finding this one. TFTC Smile

22-Aug-16
After a dnf nearby, we wandered along to this one. I'm surprised all this land is still undeveloped.
Nice pathways, though I probably wouldn't want to be here alone.
Awesome cache "container". Smile

21-Aug-16
Wanted a find for the day so headed out to Carseldine. Beautiful day which meant that there were a lot of muggles around riding their bikes, having a jog, but once I got to GZ there was no on around.
Found the cache quickly thanks to great coords. Log signed. Loved the cache but it seems the termites do to.

04-Jul-16
Quick easy find. Liked the log book.

03-Jul-16
We were meeting OrionJ nearby for lunch and decided to see if we could find this one on the way. We spent a while hunting around where we thought it would be with no success. Rang OrionJ and he suggested something which in the end turned out not to be quite right.
Next thing he rang to say he was nearby as he wanted to check out a tree in this area and he came to see how we were doing on the way. He thought the same place we had but it was only a few minutes when I saw what I was looking for a little further away. We soon added our name to the cache and replaced it where we thought it should have been.TFTC

02-Jul-16
Out and about today to do the unique T/D Challenge cache. This one was part of our tour around the northeastern suburbs.

Very nice cache!

Found quickly.

23-Feb-16
I parked on nearby Dorville Rd. and navigated through the mammoth car park by foot. Amazingly, every place where there was a "No Parking" sign was graced with at least half-a-dozen cars parked right next to the sign. Found cache and signed. It looks like wood-munching varmints are starting to claim this cache as their own. TFTC bb.

21-Feb-16
Nice caching thanks for bringing bringing us into this area. names are faded and termites have got to the case

09-Jan-16
Out with some friends checking out the markets close by when i asked very nicely if we could do a slight detour at the end. I must have asked nicely enough because soon we were on our way. Smile Once we approached GZ, it took me a bit longer for the penny to drop for what i was actually looking at (i can be a bit slow at times). It possibly didn't help that it was a spur of the moment find where i didn't actually read the description until now! Red Face Definitely have a soft spot for Peter. Great cache and very fitting - all in good condition, thanks! Smile

05-Jan-16
Found with the geokids today! What a brilliant cache. Incidently, I've lived a sheltered life and had never seen any Doctor Who until this summer when it appeared on Netflix. I am now hooked!

09-Nov-15
I caught the train to carseldine from taringa to grab some puzzles. With spare time I am now expanding my search to some others. I think this is the largest log I have signed. TFTC

08-Nov-15
Nice cache!

01-Oct-15
I drove around the block a few times before I discovered an access point and a close park.

I then could not see a path heading in the right direction so it was into the bush for 100m.

An interesting sort of cache log and then I found the easy route back to the car.

A favourite point for the ingenuity. Thanks Barb
