Up on the Sunshine Coast grab few more caches for a challenge cache. ?? ?? ?? Glad I came up here because it rain in Brisbane, but in the end the rain did come up here. Got rain on at Point Cartwright. Rest of the day was good. Did spend to long at two DNF’s. ??
My haul today was 14 traditional, 2 earthcache and 2 adventure labs with 7 waypoints. In the end the finds count was 23 finds and 2 DNF.
I had lots of fun today.
Sorry for the generic log.

Up next, I came here to this strange locale. It was a short search, but it felt so much longer with many pairs of eyes watching me! FP given for an interesting location! Thanks for showing me this place wesso family!
We headed up to Caloundra today as the mother-in-law was going flying. The weather was beautiful, although a little windy. I disappeared for a spot of caching around the aerodrome whilst she headed over to Moreton Island.
It was a bit of a bush bash to reach this cache and ever weary of snakes, it took me a little while to reach GZ. Once at GZ, I spotted a likely hidey spot and soon had the required paperwork completed. I managed to head off back to the path on a slightly different direction and that was fortunately snake free as well.
Thanks!!

I never saw any guardians at gz..
But..
Except for seff.. how does nobody talk about the body height wall of cane grass one first must overcome.
Back and forth i went before getting plucky enough to throw myself into things.
This is of course after i've "stashed" my bike somewhere inconspicuous nearby.
Lucky the logbook was double bagged.
The first ziplock bag and cache were wet but thankfully the logbook was still dry.
Thanks wesso for showing me this random bike path and forest with a geocache !

I had travelled up to the Sunshine Coast from Brisbane for the day to attend a birthday party this evening. Arriving late morning, I had the rest of the day free to attend a nearby geocaching event and find some other caches in the area on my to-do list.
Arriving close to GZ I was met with a wall of head high long grass to try and negotiate. I walked up and down the path for a bit to see if there was an easier way in. My search was in vain and there was no choice but to dive headlong into the vegetation. Luckily I had long pants on to avoid cuts from the rather sharp edged grass. The next obstacle was plenty of standing water from the recent rain, but I managed to keep dry feet all the way to GZ. I did spend a little time searching around GZ before I found the well concealed cache. Little wonder considering it was 18 months since the last find, a fact I only noticed when stamping my name in the logbook. A nice little bonus of unloved days. TFTC

After attending a Celebration Event in Caloundra Hatsoff, RoddyC, GrannySmith1947 and I headed to find a few caches before the rain got to us. It sure was a little creepy at GZ after we found an entry to it. Hatsoff saw a centipede as soon as we arrived to look but soon had the cache. We signed the log and replaced cache as found. TFTC
After heading out after the event. We made this our last one.
Yes, i agree and after spotting a centipede not far from GZ we were glad to get out of here.

Driving around here this morning we found this cache. Unfortunately the container and zip lock bag are water logged. We signed the very wet log book but it may need maintenance. TFTC
Unfortunately, we found the cache and logbook in Bits and pieces open in the area.
We put all together and rehide it. Photo to owner sent.

**# 24787** Found on our 2019 trip to Qld for winter.
A fine warm sunny Winter day for a trip to Caloundra with Orange Crew.
Not many muggles around today and a few good safe hides.
The log book was soaked and muddy, we just got our stamps to log in it.
The container is not really waterproof and needs replacing.
Thanks for the cache Wesso Family,

StreetWalkerNZ and I set out not long after 6:30 this morning to find some caches before the day got too warm. Our target area was Caloundra West / Bellvista where there were lots of caches, and SW wanted to avenge some previous DNFs as well.
Found a way through the undergrowth and after a bit of poking with my walking pole, unearthed the cache. Eeeeek! TFTC.

Felt like an evening walk after having spent last night squished up in economy class on a plane.
Decided to come and find a cache to make it 3 countries in 3 days in a row, seeing I found a few caches in Singapore yesterday afternoon/evening (19 hour stopover and had also found a cache in Cambodia the day before
TFTC - finding my way in through the head high grass/etc, from the wrong track, through the spider webs, dressed in sandals, shorts and sleeveless shirt, with cane toads hopping away into the bushes and mosquito's trying to carry me away - that was way more creepy than the cache guardian - lol
(especially seeing a few days ago I had a live tarantula crawling on me, before I bought myself a serving of silk worm pupae and crickets - fried crickets with Chili/etc = rather yummy - perfect snack to have with a beer
Nice to finally get this smiley - I had a quick look for this when I was up here last year (my parents live nearby and I live in Canberra) but I was out walking with Mum and was just as unsuitably attired so I gave up before I had a proper look, and somehow never got back for another try ... but this time I found it in the first place I looked

Cache full of water and log book soaked , managed to get our scroll onto it ...... needs maintenance
A very wet and sad cache was found today. Log and container were saturated. Did sign the log but it needs replacing. Unfortunately did not carry anything with me today to help with this.
Put new log in shopkin bag and pencil as found container on ground with no lid and filled with tradables and put back in hiding spot all ready for next cacher
I walked in from the suggested parking spot and waited for a muggle on a bike to pass before I headed off the path and towards GZ.
I started searching the wrong object and then realised that the GPS was indicating elsewhere so moved there and spotted the guardian lying on the ground and the spotted the cache not too far away.
I have put the two back near each other but they are still separate.
TFTC Wesso Family I took the TB.

Out for a day of caching with stortigirls. A short walk to GZ and the cache guardian was spotted. Not long after, our names were added tot he log. TFTC
#14251. After my walk around Bellavista I still needed one more find to get to 8 for the the day. This one was (pretty much) on the drive back to the main road. Cache was quickly found once I sussed out a route to GZ. Guardian + cache on good order. TFTC.
When we pulled up to search it was clear that a lot of water had been flowing through GZ. We assumed there was a creek nearby, but it appears to be a newly constructed stormwater outlet that runs down from the hill but is expected to flow into the same size outtake. Clearly this was a balls-up because water goes where it wants to, not where it's engineered to go. Everywhere near GZ was a sloppy mud pile.
You know its wet when the biggest branches disintegrate below your feet because they are so water-logged. Its a powerful yet scary feeling like the first time you squash a mosquito and then read the bible. The hint led us to the cache and guardian which are both still alive. The cache was full of water, but somehow the log has survived and we could add our name. Amazing!! tftc

Hint helped, the guardian didnt. Used a big stick to pry it out just in case a few more of its black cousins were about lol tftc
Had to figure out a way to get to GZ, but once that was done, was not too hard.
Quick little stop whilst I was waiting to see somebody up this way for work today.

We had seen, just recently, on a Facebook post, that the Wesso Family were all 'caravanned' up & heading away for a short spell so what better time to sneak into their territory & mount an invasion on some more of their caches & maybe pick up a few strays along the way! LOL ...
Nasty Wesso, nasty!
Another quick find here.
We are a little concerned that the cache may not survive much longer considering the road-works mere metres away.
A nice (?) surprise once the cache was located.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Last day of the year! Thought we should head out for a little caching! Very freaky find! Wasn't sure if I should put my hand near it! All good in the end thought!:) TFTC!
Another cache on my radar, and an easy grab at night was this cache. Loved that it had the spooky element while we grabbed it it at night with the torches. Haha.

Today we headed towards Coloundra, dropping into some of the many new subdivisions looking for geocachers.
After a lunch break by the beach, we followed the coastline for awhile, admiring the ocen views as we continued our hunt.
We found some very inventive caches in some great hides, in many places we have never visited before.

While easy to get to GZ I am glad it was only a 'little' creepy because while getting eaten alive by mozzies I then poked at a hole that looked likely, well, likely to contain a lot more than a creepy guardian. Found cache and faced the fear of grabbing guardian by the face. all good with cache but couldn't wait to get outta there.
Well that was a little bit creepy... I am glad that the wesso family is constantly helping me to get over any of my fears....
Signed and replaced cache in a good position to 'get' the next finder... good luck!

Camped at Landsborough and drove to Coloundra, to do some caching.
We visited some lovely areas, with a good variety of hides.
Geo-wife wouldn't touch this one, she's such a girly girl.
Worth a favourite point, for the look on her face.
Many thanks for placing this cache, wesso family, for us and others to find.

I really felt like getting some quick caching in this morning and had a think "Where can I go and plant some smilies...?". I then remembered that there was a bunch of nice caches down in the 'wesso family's' stomping ground. So that was that and of I went, I headed down to Caloundra.
This was my first cache for the day and what a great little spot for a cache. The guardian was very much at home looking after this cache.
Thanks for the cache 'wesso family'. The cache is in great order.

It's creepy alright, but on closer inspection quite harmless. It's a pretty good guardian though. TFTC

Out and about with barbbowman Made use of the parking co-ords and took the little wander. Quaint spot for a 'playground' we spotted the geotrail and followed it to GZ. barbbowman was very pleased with the cache guardian TFTC, wesso family.
Captain Terror and I were heading to this cache after a nasty incident at the last cache involving the Captain, a wasp and now a very lonely drink bottle. We parked at the suggested parking coordinates, grabbed our gpsr's and a pen and headed down the access path towards GZ.
We had a couple of issues with the Captain having a little bit of post-traumatic stress disorder from the last cache, every time a flying insect went past him, the poor guy had a little scare.
We were eventually at GZ and the cache was spotted within a few seconds. The Captain did the honours, maybe to prove himself as being brave and we were soon signing the logbook. We replaced the cache as found and headed back to the car without any more injuries. Thanks for the cache wesso family.

Ah, that's good to see. Suggested parking co-ordinates. Net88 and I spotted them for this listing and set sail in the Subaru for them. I parked us there and with our weapons of choice in hand - namely a pen and GPSr - we walked down the access path towards the GZ.
of course we walked right past the 'old' playground. Other than rubbish getting about and being in need of a lick of paint/varnish, it did us well as we wandered across it en route to the cache site.
Having just been stung by wasps at the last geocache we attempted, I was extra cautious, but it turned out of course to not be an issue as the hidey hole was quickly spotted and nothing came out to protect it. Inside in good condition and we signed our names before rehiding all as found. TFTC wesso family

I was particularly glad I had bulldozer along as I'd suspected the guardian might be what it was, which would have made it nigh on impossible for me to retrieve! The playground was looking in reasonable nick, too. TFTC, wesso family. =^.^=

This is the 5th cache that I have found today whilst out caching with Sweet-Sour. Seeing that Sweet-Sour seemed to be having a little trouble with his GPS in the car I put the coordinates in my trusty Tom Tom and we soon found the ideal parking spot. After a short walk we arrived at GZ and by 09:27hrs we had the cache in hand and signed the log. Boy! That was a bit creepy! But excellent camo I might add.

That's more than "a little" creepy! Even for us spiderwebbs that like that sort of thing... Stopped in on the way home after nice lunch at the surf club, had already found 12 this morning but couldn't resist a few more with a bit time before school pickup. Great little piece of bush and we loved the castle playground nearby, pity the kids were at school. J had the fun of being first to grab it. No swaps inside so left a little black spider to keep the big guardian company. #402 @ 1420. Tftc wesso family
I parked over in the Bellvista estate and walked across, which proved to be an easy way to approach it. I found a little geotrail and soon saw an unnatural arrangement of camo. Even when one knows what to expect it does surprise one somewhat! Nice one wesso, I think I've done enough of your caches for one day! TFTC
Started on the wrong side of the creek but eventually got there and Paxinterra, upon finding it, started having an asthma attack. TFTC wesso family
I parked Spangle then Angela and I jumped out only to be accosted by the local cranky pants hound AH!!!! Just keep walking. We strolled through the easement and Angela was all over finding the geotrail. Hmmmm, I think I'll try here. OH GEEZ!!!! Or maybe words a little harsher. I was cursing the CO. Nice little heart start for the afternoon. After pulling the cache out with a stick just in case there was any real creepy crawlies, we signed the log and then replaced the cache as found.

As I approached GZ the whole side of the stump fell away. The rain and the rot have taken their toll. If the cache was in there, as I suspect and the hint suggests, I couldn’t find it.
Thanks anyway.

After all the wet weather today was the perfect day to do some caching - so we headed off to try and finish off all the caches south of Caloundra Road. I think 90% of them belong to the wesso family too! We parked at the suggested co-ords - the easy access to the cache was blocked by a fallen tree, but we climbed over and through it. Once at GZ we took a bit of searching, and we ended up finding the cache in a spot we had already looked at earlier. What a container - awesome cache! TNLNSL TFTC
Found by Sunshine Toledo at 10:25am. Quite scarry!!! Drove down the track, parked and made the short walk in. The cache is in good condition. TFTC
Now that's why we didn't find it, We had it pre loaded on the GPS and now I noticed that the co-ords had changed, That'll teach us the re check, Next time.
I had been to the original hide with Fangsoki previously but didn't log it at that time as it would have thrown our numbers out for a milestone. So I knew what I was looking for and soon discovered... it wasn't there! Checked the GPS and realised the arrow was still pointing some metres away so once that was corrected for, we found this creepy cache in its new home. Still had to make sure before retrieving it . Thanks wesso family
