A very late change of mind saw me heading to Bathurst today to join in the Canberra Bathurst Invasion 24, which will take off tomorrow morning. Today, however, I am planning on grabbing as many caches as I can before dark settles in. This was one of them, and it has been signed and replaced where I found it. Apologies to all COs for the generic log but that is not meant to imply that I don't appreciate and acknowledge the effort that goes into placing and maintaining your caches. Thanks for contributing to our special game.A note will be added to any that I feel requires it.
The best part of today's caching was being in the car and out of the wind! But we did have to get out to make some finds with goingplaces2. All good with this one. TFTC.
The day's weather was a real mixed bag. Sometimes overcast, sometimes raining and sometimes sunny - but always with the ever present very cold and strong, blustery wind. We still managed to get some caches with ilook4geo and signed the logs. Thanks go to GLISS! for this cache placement.
Find#6434Nice hiding place What a epic road trip exploring Australia Thanks for the cache
Lovely stone and brickwork on church. Thanks for getting us to stop and admire on our cycle to Goulburn.
These historical country caches are heaps of fun and very interesting. Love the old church building pretty much all by itself out here.
Thanks, GLISS!

A really cute little church. Dont think we will be using the dunny anytime soon. TFTC
Well decided to take a day off from work and tackle caches mainly around Crookwell/ Gunning and surrounds. TFTC!
Another lovely little country church. I made the find harder than it needed to be, but I got a nice photo of the church as a reward. Dropped off a TB.
First of four days of caching around Goulburn, Yass valley and ACT. Weather still good, but a terrible forecast. Making good progress around Goulburn/Crookwell today.

With a tree down near GZ and the old outhouse next to the church also on it side we carefully searched around and found the cache unscathed and in good condition.

The cache was located readily, but I then spent some time examining the root structure of the neighbouring pine tree.
While the church itself looks to be in quite good condition, the outhouse now appears only suitable for use by inebriates...

Magnificent old pines guarding this spot, another beautiful church but what happened to the thunder box? A fave from me.
Lovely old church with new roof, golly the trees/ stumps definitely tell us the age of the church, resident wombat seems to like the area, Tftc
The rain had cleared and the sun was shining, so it made for a lovely day for a drive in the country. After the Crookwell country town event and collecting the caches around the town, we started out journey home collecting along the way.
We arrived at GZ and found a neighbourhood dog feeding on a decomposing animal carcass...not very nice. But he soon moved on to the nearby field and we were able to grab the cache before he returned for another snack. Another lovely old chrurch...TFTC GLISS!

With us lazying around the house for school holidays, Dad dragged us along for a 2-day caching trip through the rural area of Goulburn and Gunning.
We had lots of fun exploring the area, seeing heaps of wildlife and farm animals and finding some caches.

As the kids (mini rats) were on school holidays I decide to take them for a country drive which involved some caching and an overnight bush camp out. We found plenty rural caches, seen heaps of cattle and sheep, the ocassional roadkill and some amazing countryside, oh and heaps of wind-turbines.
Another old lovely church
Thanks to all the CO's for contributing to the fun we had.

Highly photogenic. Loved the dunny just hanging on & the lichen covered sign. An old church getting plenty of visitors but probably few parishioners. Thanks.
Another great church, with some interesting features and buildings nearby which we observed.
Was happy to see a different container here, and one which was very well hidden using the nature nearby! The hint was spot on which led us to a quick find!
Thanks GLISS for bringing us to another fabulous location, not sure how you found dozens and dozens of interesting things along such sections of country roads, really shows you how much there is to see with geocaching and in our country!

This Cache was not one of my FTFs today
I headed out from Canberra today with Loci612. On seeing that there was a ftf that had been unclaimed for three days I kicked it into overdrive and reached speeds of upto 150kmph. Shaving almost 20 min off the trip. We got to GZ, located the cache and signed the logbook. We later found out that the 2TF missed out on the ftf by 15 min. Looks like my crazy speeding paid off. Thank you GLISS! for placing this cache, It was found in great condition without any drama. Now onto more caches.
After the two FTFs we collected a few more caches on the way to the Event in Goulburn. THis was one of the caches that we found. I have signed the logbook DSD or Darkside or Darksidedan
I have included a poem that I have written about geocaching with my log. I hope that you and future loggers like it.
Geocache Poem
By DARKSIDEDAN
My endless search goes on and on
Looking for treasures of every kind
Always chasing just one more find
Putting past DNF’s out of my mind
I step out into the world outside,
Seeking what is hidden from me
What size, shape or form will it be?
Only time will tell, I can’t wait to see
Will I find my prize at the end?
I will search in the failing light and cold
Filling with despair having looked everywhere
Where is this thing that gives my life pleasure?
Looking all around from every angle
I read the logs and check the hint
I curse out loud as I walk in circles
Screaming the bloody thing it not there
As time flies by and I fail to see,
Never once stopping to realize
It always been there before my eyes
No need for sorrow, there’s the Geocache.

Was out for a drive and thought I'd stop by for this one! The cache must have rolled/moved from its hiding spot, because it had gone under the fence into the neighbouring property. I was able to reach it under the fence and return it to what I thought was its hiding spot!
Out and about with Happy Uke again today to get some caches. We had Mizmaz along to help out along the way.
Thanks for this one.
Thanks for this one.
As I was driving home late last night from a very long and tiring day caching around Batemans Bay ticking off my 5000th milestone, got a text from HappyUke with an invite to join her and Finalf29 for a spontaneous cache run today. Possibly too tired to think sensibly but knowing they would do all the planning, driving and navigating, I readily agreed as the proposed PT numbers (plus a few others) would help with the mythical creatures challenge. Started the day up to Gryphon status and 40 smileys later I had the Dragon (with ten towards the last souvenir). Found in a precarious position down the holes below one huge fallen tree! As I almost lost HappyUke down the “rabbit hole” like Alice in Wonderland during the retrieval, we moved it closer to the clue and co-ords… where I also lost my balance, though that was just being clumsy
A big day out with Mizmaz and Finalf29 was organised (last night) to knock off a few caches in the "Hidden Creatures" challenge. We had a fantastic day with lovely weather, great caches and wonderful company... I think we are all talked out now! Thanks to all the CO's. We got forty for the day.
Boy that tree was Huge! So many lovely little churches in the district.

Beautiful old church, Thanks for bringing me somewhere I wouldn’t of gone ??. TFTC.
Thanks for providing some afternoon entertainment. Nice and easy to find. Thanks again
Thanks to the CO's extra hint I returned and made a quick find. Last time I concentrated my search on another stump, and didn't actually spot this one [:o)]. Nice to change that to . TFTC GLISS!
I noticed that this one hadn't been found for a while and that the latest log was a DNF so set out to do some cache maintenance.
The cache was in place but had been completely exposed. Cache has now been recamouflaged
There are few hide options here so perhaps the previous cacher didn't investigate the stumps closer to the fence???

DNF! I searched the stump closest to GZ and then extended the search, but no luck for me today. !
Catching up on some cache logging for caches collected in January 2017. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to log them and then forgot – Sorry !! Thanks for the cache GLISS!.
I found this cache as a joint part of “Team” *Throsbyonchurch* and in which name the log book was signed. I now have my own account as I’m old enough to cache myself, so I am claiming a fair share of my earlier finds. As I had no caching name at the time there's no log in the book for me but I’m claiming the find under team ToC. Thank you for the hide.
Found it -- 3:45pm -- TFTH. Loving these old church caches, I think they are brilliant. Loving coming here and visiting, there is just something unexplainable about them that draws my interest. Found this cache with no problems. We are out camping in the state forest and decided to go to Goulburn for petrol thinking it would be cheaper than the Highlands .... nope .... surprise because it usually is 10 to 20 cents cheaper, plus buy some supplies and do some caching. It was a very hot day, but we still had fun. Decided to go to the Wollondilly River on Gurrundah Rd, Kippilaw for a dip. Hhhmmm very short lived. My one of the kids discovered a leech on leg... everyone broke the sound barrier as they flew out of the water. Hubz said he saw a few coming out of the mud as he rose. From here it was a cool ride to the supermarket and then back to camp.
A perfect summer's day for a ride in the country and to visit this little church. I don't think it gets much use, as the only signs of wear on the ground I could find could be attributed to animals - I think wombats are living under the altar area of the church - or geocachers. I think more kangaroos than cachers!
All is in good condition. Took nothing and left nothing. I really must get equipped for this caper!
Many thanks GLISS!

Another ticked off my list of Upper Lachlan Shire caches. I'm sure it's beautiful during the day, but at night alone with a torch, the church and stumps are quite spooky! The starry sky was an amazing sight. Left a TB and replenished the cache with a few goodies. This cache is BIG, definitely not a micro, would be worth recategorising as medium. TFTC!
Headed out early this morning on another caching adventure. Drove down the long black line to the Southern Highands and points beyond including Goulburn Yass, Harden, Young and some other places on the way home. Second day of the adventure. Departed Harden another early morning start Great cache. TFTC
