Found down the hillside not near any tree... also we had tools with, just not the right ones...we shall return one day T.F.T.C
Todays walk back up the Skyline Walkway from a different access pount. Mission to knock off just one today as I'm quite sure it will take a bit of time
AWESOME cache and I came prepared!
Took 28 minutes to retrieve logbook, sign and return. One more Skyline cache to go yay. Really enjoying spending the time to explore these tracks TFTC drawp

Got the van back early. Nice to stop the creaking from the front wheel wondering if it would fall off. Brought the toolkit and had enough for the job. Thankfully ground not too wet as I set down to the task. Some were a bit tight but all ok. Think this is the third if these I have done. Great fun.
TFTC, didn’t have tools to sign log book, but found after walking around lots of dead trees
This cache is lonely no more i came prepared for this one as i had a fair idea what i would need and i was right... nice to sign the log that has not been signed in over 2 years TFTC
All is in order. Did not have one of the several required tools.

We found this cache quite easily but be prepared for a bit of a scramble. Couldn't sign the log book because although we had a pen knife with us capable of unswrewing/unbolting etc. my husband stabbed himself, accidentally I might add and lost interest.
Had to return to get this one while in town. Ironically I discovered that I had my multi tool in my caching bag all along! Such a satisfying find.
Day 7 - of our epic adventure around amazing Oamaru. With Geofest17 and Danseys Pass and A2O bagged, we are off exploring Oamaru again. These feet are made for walking - so lets checkout this awesome Skyline Walkway.
The first challenge was finding the cache - we slipped and slid around while hunting for this elusive cache. Then bummer did not have the right tools with us to open it. So its back to Toby and a quick trip The Warehouse to buy the tool require and returning here via a different route and parking close by. OK now with the right tools to crack open this one we have finally tagged it. Cheers. Great cache. Now to gather the info from the plaque.

Taybeedragon and I are here, on the Skyline Trail, primarily for just one reason: The final provides the missing D/T for the dragon to qualify for a local challenge. But let's face it, the trail is a great walk above Oamaru, with a number of wonderful little spaces scattered throughout.
As we approached #5 from the farm, walking toward the gate to the bush track, a ewe called out to her kids. The youngsters were at the gate, it looked like they were looking for a way onto the bush track. One was white, the other was a black lamb. Perhaps mum spent some of her spare time with the postman? Anyway, the dragon and I stopped, not wanting to distress mum any further, as she was watching us and calling repeatedly to her youngsters. They eventually left the gate and gambolled up to her and we walked through.
We decided to walk back to the car at this point and move it further around, so didn't grab the cache. We parked hte car a little way down the street here, walked back to this cache, and made the find.
I noticed the streets are really badly drawn on the map - Dee Street for instance is show as continuing through, when actually it does not. I'll fix that tomorrow.

Out and about with Karma Reprint this weekend, it was time to claim the Skyline walkway. Hosing down most of the way and the southerly blowing, it possibly wasn't the best weather but the occasional view when the clouds parted made it worthwhile. Great container, not dissimiliar to the chirp the day before. Luckily with the same tool kit, it didn't take long to get our names on the log. Cheers
A nice quick find, took a while to sign the log though. It got really cold for a while, could easily see our breath's. Cheers.
Time for some final caches around Oamaru, and then cruise on home, with Kiwi Moose. Signed the logs K2MR for brevity. Thanks to the CO's for the Caches.

Out for a wander with a couple of other nutters ... oops sorry cachers. ... good hide here cheers A
Got the call from BCD have you got a certain tool? I certainly have....
So the plan was made to meet up and knock this one off. Team effort saves the day and another one bites the dust tftc found with abxt350 and BCD

A day off before the Geofest so out to collect a few caches. Thanks to all the Owners that have been out and about maintaining them for this busy weekend.
Down in Oamaru for the Geofest with Aiden29 and Bertie Blowfish. Down here a day early and we decided to do this series. Travelling light and without a full toolkit it was our luck to discover this cache. AAArrggghhh. We used two small multi tools and had to improvise on numerous occasions. Finally got the lid off only to be confronted by more tool work. Finally extracted the log and signed it. We then had to reverse the procedure. Got everything back together and the cache back in its place. Thanks to MrJag50 who persevered and sweated and got a sore hand for opening and closing this one. A long and delicate procedure . Akin to Brain Surgery. Well maybe not , but more like Rocket Science.
In town with Jag50 and Aiden29 - for the Labour Weekend Geofest - really relaxing & enjoying the skyline walk this morning...until, that is, we hit this cache!
We had not come prepared, having left our full toolkits back up in Jaffa-land. Fortunately for us, MrJag50 rose to the occasion...doing a Macgyver impersonation... perservering well above & beyond the call of duty.
After finally extricating the cache, we had to laugh on reading the standard blurb saying "if you ACCIDENTLY find this cache...."!!!

First day down in Oamaru for the Geofest with Bertie Blowfish and Jag50. As the weather was so nice we headed out to tackle the Skyline walk. We found the cache easily, but having not really read the cache page previously we didn't come prepared. In the end we had to make do with the few tools we had on hand. Thanks to our very own Macgyver we managed to get into the cache and sign the log. Then we had to put it all back together again!
After a delicious frosty boy cream freeze it was time to find some more Geocaches. We were prepared.
Find out more about New Zealand's next big event [Oamaru Geofest](http://oamarugeofest2017.wixsite.com/geocachingevent) and come and join us.
Thanks. drawp for putting in the effort to hide this geocache. This was find for me.

out for a morning walk... we kinda found it.. well we found the container out in the open.. but due to the appropriate tool malfunction as soon as it was engaged.. and the multi tool being back in the car.. we had just broke it open with a large rock.. no .. just kidding.. ./. since we are from another island and on a schedule.. we wont have a chance to return... with the tool
Will be back for this sadly we left our tool kit behind. But now we know whatever need. Cool cache.
Found the cache, but had the wrong tools. We will be back now that we know what is required
Travelling around the South Island.
Looking at our wonderful home land.
Weather has been improving every day. Wonderful to travel.
A real mission to get into. Had to go back to vehicle for more tools
SL. TFTC.

Found cache, but there's nothing inside! So disappointing, we had the tools ready to crack it open and all...
Disappointing end to a great week in Oamavegas! Heard all about this cache, was on our "to do list". Hopefully it can be reinstated, before our next visit in March, or at least... the Mega event in 2017.
Heading home to Christchurch after a weekend in Dunedin for the marathon, collecting some smiley faces along the way. Never knew this track was here. Were running out of time so will do the rest next time we're in the area
Visiting Oamaru for a wee family 'long weekend' holiday.
Mrs TG out for a wee morning run...and generously stopped along the way for a cache or two... ...cheers. Lovely walkway, will have to return....

#12476. We wondered whether it would be one of those caches where you do a bush bash and then find the track we should have taken. However, that wasn't the case here (bush bashing was required however you approached GZ). TFTC.
After finding half a dozen caches in the morning, it was time to head back to the motel for a warming cuppa and something to eat to sustain us for the rest of the day. Because the weather was so good (apart from being a tad chilly), we decided to tackle most of the caches around the sky line trail - which turned out to be more energetic than anticipated.
After a bit of bush bashing, we arrived at GZ and quickly found the cache. Hmmmm, not the usual drawp tool box (we have found at least one before), but it was definitely the cache as there was a log book with the info to collect. Is it a temporary one in place at the moment? Bugger didn't get the info from the plaque, will have to return. TFTC.

Showed a few friends the mystery of geocaching, the skyline Walkway was perfect for that! Cool Caches, nice view over Oamaru!

We had been here before. This time with tools. Happy to get it open. Shame someone just stamped the box. That can't be a true find. Tftc
We'd been here before but were unable to access the log book - aaahhh!! Back today with the necessary tools and after abit of perserverance we were finally able to access the log book. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
It helps if you have the right tools and today we had what we needed. Took TB as it's been here a while. Found with debsnz
Well that surely helped while away the afternoon. Great box. Disappointed it was only a log book inside, so dropped off a TB as some reward for the next cacher with blistered fingers and a fevered brow!
6371. A quick find in spite of the erratic GPS reception under the trees. Had brought the appropriate tools today - thank goodness for those mini tool sets! Thanks for a great cache before we head for home in Christchurch. We will return sometime to finish off the skyline caches. Rodney and Iris.
Stamped the cache
We enjoyed the day caching in this area
Tftfun
So many caches done to remember all, but got a kick out of all that we found (0ver 600 in 8 days)

I hadn't seen the photo so didn't know what to expect, lucky for me I had the trusty multi-tool. Very clever.
Found on our Invercargill to Christchurch road trip. Thanks to all the cache owners who have put out some great caches in some great locations, we enjoyed our trip and enjoyed many of the places we found ourselves. SL TFTC.

Well... first we went in from above, which was a little more tricky than the more usual route from the track going up, no trouble finding the cache. Then... unfortunately our homework hadn't got as far as #5... so we hadn't read the bit about needing a toolkit or seen the photo of what to expect... and no-one had even the usual swiss army knofe or multitool. Barry came up with a makeshift tool which could do some, but not all of the combinations. But we absolutely need the code!!! Luckily Mr Daywalk can think "outside the box". He took the cache over the road and knocked on the door of a builder. June and Maurice were very understanding, and it turned out they know not only drawp, but also Bitsprayer and ernienz, in their alter egos as respectable Oamaru citizens! Oh, they said, so that's what drawp was doing a week or so ago when we saw him wandering over the hill...? Took a minute to get the cache, another 29 minutes cheerful chatting over the front gate. So thanks to Maurice and June's generosity we got it! Hooray! Please pass on our grateful thanks to Maurice and June again next time you see them, drawp.
This one lead to a great adventure involving some bush bashing - but avoided the barbed wire - head scratching, inventive use of objects at hand, meeting some lovely locals and finally well deserved lunch TFTC!!
Luckily I checked out the photo and had the tools required before I set out. A quick find of something.
Then a bit of time spent undoing, signing and then tightening up ageing. A nicely crafted container.
Have a tick.

Mmmm Short legs and barbed wire are not a good mix.
Drawp must have had fun in the lolly shop as a child..1 of that and 1 of those.
EXCELLENT,,,thank goodness for the wee pink tool kit that was a mothers day gift and also a tad girl guide intuition.

Easy there. I'm not made of favourite points you know.
Thanks for placing this cache!

Should read notes first. Will take tools next time. I would of thought this would be a puzzle cache not a tradional cache. Upsetting when you do find it and you need tools.
Returned today with correct tools. Probably shouldn't have logged it as found the other day but have now filled out log.
Returned this morning with a set of all the tools required and finally got to the logbook. Gets a fav point from me for the effort that went into the creation and the retrieving of this cache. It ticks off another calendar day too. Yay! TFTC.
Found the cache easily enough, but went pretty unprepared. Now we know what we need, we'll return soon.
We quickly found the cache, but realized we didn’t have the right equipment to open it, so took it back to the car to work on, as the rain started. By the time we had opened and closed it, the rain was pouring down, and we got absolutely soaked taking it back. Still deserving of a favourite though. We then sat in the car and ate our lunch while waiting to see what the rain was going to do. It wasn’t looking as if we would finish the Skyline Walkway series today. TFTC
Decided to go down to Dunedin to attended the first ever Mega in New Zealand and my first ever MEGA. Managed to work it out so that I was able to team up with -gonefishing-, fozzmiester and agcnz on an 9 day caching trip around the South Island, this was day 7 of the road trip. Today we were making our way form Oamaru to Timaru for the night and picking up a few caches on our way and it was another beautiful fine day.
After finding GC3P5A9 - Skyline Walkway #3 (North Otago), this was the next cache that we had on our list to find today. The walk to GZ didnt take too long as we making our way around this area in an orderly manner and as we neared GZ, reading the description and the hint. As we neared GZ, our GPSr started pointing us to a spot that looked promising and we soon spotted something that required a closer inspection, and we soon realised that it was the cache.
Managed to retrieve the cache, signed and then replaced the cache back where I found it. Thanks drawp for placing this cache here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (5228). Another quick and easy find here today, glad that we managed to find it quickly, can just imagine the frustration that a cache like this can cause. Also managed to gather the extra information at GZ for the bonus cache.
Now how far is the next cache, oh yes just over there, this is 5 of 15 caches to find up here .

The log was soon in hand thanks to agcnz' and his caching kit. Thanks for the cache drawp.
Found as part of an epic NZ Mega Event trip. Day 7 - Oamaru and surrounds before heading North to Timaru in the company of agcnz, -gonefishing- and Yeetrees. Thanks to the owners of the 500 + caches which I had the pleasure to find along the way and which contributed to a very fun trip.

Found on the great post-Mega roadtrip with agcnz, fozzmiester and yeetrees. A great trip from Otago to Wellington, taking in many backroads and some fantastic scenery along to way to over 400 caches. Thanks to all the cache owners for the great caches we found on the way.
Agcnz proved to be a real McGyver and had the logbook in hand in minutes.
Thanks for the cache, drawp.

Came here with fozzmiester, -gonefishing- and Yeetrees on a fine morning after staying the night in Oamaru. This one was an easy find, but getting to the logbook was more of a challenge. Fortunately, with a bit of improvisation, I found that I had everything I needed in my caching kit
and the logbook was in hand after a bit of experimentation. Signed log, TFTC - I enjoyed this one and it gets a favourte point.

Found easily enough, but like a cache elsewhere, will need to return with appropriate means to log. Cheers Gav
Even armed with the tools, this almost got the better of us...a great, great cache - thanks Drawp!
Found a container that was a somewhat different size from that in the description. This had me wondering what old cache I had just discovered. Once open, I found I had a problem. I will return to the area, somewhat better prepared, next month.
Arrived to realise I didn't have what I needed. Fortunately I could spot the big red shed from nearby and made a quick detour.
Went well prepared for this although I wish I had noticed the photo!. Finally gained entry and gleefully signed the log, reassembled the container and then noticed the cache container still on the ground!. Certainly knew the workings well!
Thanks

Great fun, this one took the longest to find, but it was at the first place I looked, as always and a FTF - Bitsprayer
