Was nearby looking for Down and Damp (too no avail - may need to return with waders) and noticed the reference to this hide. Thought I may as well check it out, being close by, and found the cache still present, and in splendid nick. A nice tranquil spot too, with the ducks floating by. Thanks EthisEthat for highlighting it, and to the CO for deploying it --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Well glad to say this one is still in GOOD condition!
Not sure when I found this cache but it's defs still there. Though this place still feels a bit... off. The grass is very high around here too but for future finders come and get it!

Another long lost cache recently found, again, on the ride into work. Gotta beat that rain! TNLNSL TFTC
I had some more time up my sleeve after visiting another cache near Mount Ainslie so decided to swing by this archived one on my way home. The area around GZ is very much a construction site with the light rail happening, but this strange little feature has been untouched!
Very strange place and an eerie feeling. Seems like something was once here but is now forgotten!
The cache was found very quickly sitting exactly where it should be after all these years! Pretty impressive!
Thanks VikingOlly for bringing me to a location that I never knew existed.

The final stage of our QLD Mega adventure - Canberra to St Leonards - homeward bound! Proximity to EPIC meant we could make a couple of ACT finds as we set out for Victoria! With a little luck we should be able to get the "3 States in a Day Challenge".
Our thanks to VikingOlly for bringing us here.

Another cache archived but still on the GPS. Picked up on the way to Mitchell post office. Found in the dark and drizzle. Thanks VikingOlly
One last quick cache before heading home. Parked nearby and walked to gz.

#1349 A quick park and grab on the way home to keep the streak going. This is our 31st day in a row, equaling our previous best.

#657 I was abit early for the trotts today, so I thought why not? When I saw the map I thought, here we go, middle of nowhere. But I was wrong. Quick easy find. Not really 2.5 terrain, but anyway. Container used to be a cosmetic thing maybe? Anyways TFTC. And I love ducks!
Trip from Bowral to Canberra for The Amity Affliction concert stop.
Thought I'd do some caches to get up to #500.
Nearly there
~~End of copied section~~
Rain was a little heavier now, but a quick walk from the car, hand and knees, log signed and return.
Thanks for this simple cache

A quick grab this evening after an earlier attempt at another cache was unsuccessful.
I've driven past here a few times before but never noticed this spot. Lovely spot, and as the previous cacher said, would be great if they cut the grass!
Found at 1815. TftC

Nice quick grab. Its a shame its over grown. Nice place to sit and watch the birds. TFTC
We have driven past this place so many times and not known this little pond was here! Very cool to sit for a minute and watch the ducks swimming by. Nice cameo container as well. TFTC!
Found quick and easy. Down in Canberra while my sister competes in the Irish Dancing National Championships.
A peaceful spot with no Harley's around today. Just had to do this one as it is not far from where I'm staying. Soon spotted the prize and had in hand. Ah ha it looks just like a container to hold stainless steel decanter beads. These beads are used with a liquid to clean the insides of wine decanters. A sample enclosed I spied Signed the log and dropped a very small peg with a lady bird attached. TFTC VikingOlly.
I'm from central coast .. i stay Canberra for 2 weeks to see my kids and Event... good hide well.. thank
Found whilst out on a family caching day - visiting Brother O319 in Canberra for his 50th Birthday!
Beautiful spring weather for the day, 30 caches for the day.
Great day all round

A lonely seat looking over a small pond, with a footpath leading right to GZ.
We admired the view and the ducks.

I was heading past, so stopped off for a quick driveby. Looks like a nice wetland area in here, but getting a bit late to take a walk to check it out. No hawgs spotted, just a couple of water birds.
TNLN - Thanks VikingOlly!

Today is a nice day, and I'm crook - I'm off work with a nasty cold. However, I've got to go to Physio for my bad back, so I'm doing some park and grabs with short walks attached sometimes, if I feel healthy enough for it. The GeoSchnauzers are looking appealingly at me as I pack my small Geocaching kit. Bad luck, GeoSchnauzers!!! I've left home to the sound of loud disapproval. They'll be pleased to see me when I get back, dogs are very forgiving.
At the start of today, I'm on 648, in my quest for 1000 by 20 September, the end of my first full year.. This is number 5 of 13 I found today. . Once I got started, I didn't want to stop. Besides, they are mostly park and grab.
This was a quick park and grab. TFTC!!

i was out for a night spin on the pushie and decided to head down through mitchell and grab a couple of caches on the way.
unusual little area.
Co-ords were spot on
cache container was on the ground and wasn't sure where exactly it was suppose to live.
Signed the log and hid as best i could.
container looks like it might have been used for some sort of Moisturiser cream/makeup.
Thanks VikingOlly

Quick find after watching the monster trucks at epic. No idea on the container but that was the most random footpath ever. Tftc
Found 8:06 pm after going to nearby MonsterTruck show. TFTC This keeps my streak going. Found with X_mscake.
A few days to spare after the National Folk festival so a few caches are in order.
Thanks VikingOlly

I was visting the northside for a lunch so decided no rush to get back home so time for some caching
first stop and parked in the nearby CP and took the short walk , GPS had me in the garden but thought perhaps not.. hint told me that I'd better have a sit and think about it.. lol

Couldn't help myself to stop along the way on some caches after Mulligans Flats, when you basically drive by them and no one in the car that tells you not to stop TFTC VikingOlly.
The description had me trying to think of ways to unfasten something that probably shouldn't be unfastened, but after a minute I found the thing, did my signing duties, put it back in the same spot. And took a photo. Nice place!
Quick drive by on the way home from work to our new house in the north of Canberra. Beautiful spot I never knew was here. Simple hide which left more time to admire the spot. TFTC.
Quick grab this morning as we watched the thorough breds go for a canter. First to sign the new log book. TFTC
I've been meaning to get this one for ages - well today my car was being repaired nearby so I walk here to get it. An easy find - BUT watch out for REDBACKS!!! Also the log is full - maybe 2 more ids on the back cover.
After finally getting back to the car after finding Inforemation Repository we did a quick search for nearby caches and saw this one 50m away. An easy grab. But a lingering question, who built the path to this spot and why?

Easy find by Mrs Red_V after we actually walked straight past it on the way to another cache, not realising initially there was one hidden there. TFTC.
Found this one as I was out and about on a glorious, sunny day
Conveniently parked nearby and made the easy stroll to then make the easy, muggle free find! No idea what the container held though! lol Log book is full. Thanks, VikingOlly

What a great little spot for a cache hide! Am staying at EPIC and was just on my way "home" after visiting Floriade, when I stopped to do this cache. Was a bit worried by the terrain rating, bit was no problem. A nice quick find. Am obviously not in proper caching mode, however, as I didn't even have a pen in my pocket and had to return to my car to sign the log! Cache #1,685.
I was up from Melbourne for two days so decided to go out caching. Lochb was also up so we found a number of caches in this area. It was quite dark by the time we got to this cache with no-one else around. Lochb was first to Gz and had the cache before I arrived. No idea of the original contents of the container. Thanks VikingOlly

Very quick find while I was still repeating the hint... we had the area completely to ourselves. TFTC
# 6704 Found on a drizzly wet Canberra afternoon, but a slight break in the rain.
No muggles around here today although lots are flying past the nearby road.
Nice quick find and the best and easiest D 2.5 that I have seen.
Thanks for the cache VikingOlly,
Roostaman.

We dropped in here tonight on our way home from doing some maintenance at our store and was surprised to find the water here. Thanks VikingOlly. Cheers
Found on a blustery Friday around 4.10 pm.
Nice spot and well hidden.
Many thanks for the cache.

Quick collection on way home. Probably on one of the coldest Canberra arvo a this year. TFTC
Had to be a bit stealthy as there was a muggle doing tai chi just nearby. lovely spot and ducks on the water....mmmm might have to go back just to sit and relax. tftc
Didn't know about this spot. It would be a nice place to sit for a while if it wasn't the traffic going by. TFTC
Found during a day of caching with Marzie_ after a Symposium in Canberra. Thanks for the cache VikingOlly!
Staying nearby at EPIC & set out to do a few caches, easy find and easy parking in an "F" Truck, don't think this is quite where it should be. OMG would love to be a HOG but a bit late now. TFTC SL
After a short walk in the bush and a break for lunch on our way home we had to get a few drive bys. TFTC - weird place for a rest.
2013-07-13 0119 The terrain rating of 2.5 stars totally threw me off. Cache creep perhaps? Current terrain rating might be 1 or at most 1.5 stars. Nice spot. Tranquil today - no muggles in sight. Tks Viking Olly!
quick find as cache was opened on the ground. replaced were we think it was meant to be. tftc
Had some time to kill on this side of town this morning before the rain settled in. Quick find then off home to spend the day solving puzzles inside!
Of course I looked where I would have hidden the cache and there NO FIND again!!!
So then I searched for other possible hides and the cache was soon in hand. This is the first time I have a cache container like this and I suspect it will be quite a while before I see another one. I have no idea what the original purpose of the container was.
Thanks VO for the hunt and the cache

Staying at EPIC for a few days and thought we needed to do a Canberra cache so we could visit our travel bugs in the ACT. This was a nice quick find and have often driven past here wondering if there was a cache, nice hide! tftc
No Harleys around today (or hardly any other kind of traffic). Nice little park

A quick find (we hate it when other cachers say that, but it was!) A true bikie ambience to the cache, but John was never a HOG rider, he couldn't afford the ute! Log was a bit moist, so left some silica gel. TNLN, SL, TFTC!
Followed GPS on iPhone and it should have been in the water! So engaged our developing geosense and found it. Good hide. TNLN. TFTC
I had a lunchtime meeting in the ACT so arrived with plenty of time to knock off a few northern Canberra caches on a beautiful spring morning. A path leading to a seat in the middle of no-where whose only purpose that I could see was for sitting on the sign the log book. Shame about the rubbish around the area - I often practice CITO but a washing machine is a bit above my capability! Many thanks VikingOlly
The ambience was delighful near GZ - rubbish was blowing about the carpark and someone had hurled a washing machine into the bushes.
Initially I anticipated a smaller cache, but soon spotted the goods

After all the excitement of the Folk Festival, we turned out minds to caching! This was first on the list! Thanks....
In Canberra for the National Folk Festival so am doing a few caches as well. Had a friend with me for this one ... thank goodness.
