Arrived at gz, and heard a Polaris approaching so we crouched in the bushes until it went past.
I think this may have been where I lost my glasses.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, ahomburg

An easy find. Replaced as found.

A nice little bush bash into this one. Spotted the likely GZ on approach and soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks ahomburg for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.
This is not the hunt I would have like to do with snow or in the wet!
The wandered enjoying the surrounding vegetation and taking a few pics of the gums.
The geo kids were right on the hunt and quickly made a find.

Sidled across from the Painted Rocks and a relatively quick find. Cache and log in good condition.
For a change, I tried finding the correct way in, instead of doing the straight line approach. It kind of worked, but if I hadn't been climbing on the rock I would have found it quicker. Signed the log at 11.30 am
Thanks for the cache Ba Luke and A Homberg

Wab wab caches looked like a great series and if better weather we would have done more. But we focused on a small section with the idea to find the mystery.
Another one that the hint made for a quick find.
Thanks to BaLuke and Ahomberg for the placement and fun.
A long term multi location project brought us to this location today. We had been meaning to do it for a while so chose this weekend. It was lovely on arrival, 11 degrees, thick fog, light rain and very strong winds that instantly inverted the umbrella so that didn't get a lot of use. Oh well, at least it wasn't snowing. The drive up here was ok with the awesome road holding and handling of the ute, however I had to pull over a couple of times to let the Porsche, Lamborghini and BMW M3 car club groups fly past.
I had only been up here once on a freezing cold day to do the LGA challenge and grab one cache and go so it was nice to walk up to the summit and check out all the ski runs.
No snow today so this one was super-easy.
Thanks for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
This was getting towards the end of the trip.
I walked round from one side because it just seemed so difficult to cross.
Lucky I did as it was a little easier on this side!
The cache was a fairly quick find.

An event at Toorongo Falls got me closer to the mountain than I expected to be any time soon, so I took the opportunity.
The drive in is a nice workout... almost 40km of twists, turns, switchbacks, steep grades, and oh, so much fun. I have to admit I enjoyed the challenge and the views.
Even in midsummer, the weather can be interesting, and visibility was about 40 metres in the day carpark when I arrived. Perfect for a walk around to the summit and back.
In all, a little over ten klicks of walking while I collected clues to a mystery cache, logged a trig point and took photos for another challenge.
Thanks, BaLuke and ahomburg. Getting to this cache from above was easier than the other direction.

I had great coords here which led me to a quick find. All in good condition too.
Thanks BaLuke and ahomburg
Today we left Walhalla and headed to Mt Baw Baw.
We had to adjust our route because the GPS kept trying to take us down a dirt road that looked like it would end up needing a 4wd.
We found lots of caches along the way and heaps up Mt Baw Baw.
We were lucky with the weather and to have avoided the bushfires.
Thanks to all the COs for their caches. Tftc
A road trip with good friend sharkiefan. Plan was to go Walhalla for a couple of events and then up to the top of Mt Baw Baw before getting back to the City.
Well we made it up the road now to make it to the summit.
We only had one cache on the plan for this area as we were here for Virtual Reasons.
Tackling the slopes UP, it ended up being a zig zag as the direct way was just a little too steep. So the caches guided our way.
Up at the Cairn it was lizard central, they were all coming out of the cracks in the rocks to get as much sun as they could.
Once the summit cache was found it was time to come down.
Following the tracks marked on the GPSr I realized that I had downloaded the Mountain bike tracks and not the hiking ones. But we were the winners as these were a more direct route down and took us past all the caches on the Western side of the slopes.
Walking down the Mountain bike tracks made me wish i had my bike with me.... oh well next time as we left a number of caches for another day.
All caches were found in good order.

Made our way down the ski run and Lach slid onto his bottom - the silky grass is very slick.
This cache was a little further off-track than the others and so we were a little unsure of ourselves, but with a little hunting we made the discovery, just as the March flies discovered us. Plenty of casualties ensued as we signed the log and slapped the flies.
Forgot to note the clue so we had to bash back into the bush to take another look.
Thanks for a great day out
Following on from an early morning drive out to Dargo.
We arrived on the mountain at 4:30 and began our assault.
After working our way up the mountain to the cairn it's all downhill from here.
We dropped in to say "G'day" to Sherman.
A bit of cover from the wind and the end is almost in sight.
Thank you for bringing us here and for the series BaLuke.
A magical location indeed!
And after grabbing most of the caches we aimed to find for the day, only having one or two dnf's on the day as a whole we headed back home after dark decideding to taking the way home via moe to grab a couple puzzles that we both had been working on.
Anyways sorry for the generic log. But thanks for the cache and the lovely day out today.
A quick find as the rain rolled in. Dad discovered this one as soon as we arrived. With no one around the wind whistled through the trees and all was fairly peaceful. Crazy to think it snows up here, definitely none in sight while we were up!
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache!
After arriving at Mount Baw Baw yesterday amidst rain and thunderstorms, this morning was spent walking out to Gwinear and visiting a few caches in the WAB WAB series. As I continued around the trails, I needed this one for the final, although it seemed. Managed to find a clue number here, but this cache is no longer listed on the final cache page as being one of the 6 to have to find. Nonetheless, it still gave me the answer I was after.
Gratias BaLuke.
Found during a ten day caching trip to the other side of the state, Mt Baw Baw is the last Local Government area I need to complete the LGA Challenge cache so a visit to this alpine area was a must on the to-do list for the trip, after sleeping in [OVT](https://coord.info/TB70Q77) in one the nearby empty carparks we drove into the village to make ourselves breakfast after finding nothing open and then unloaded the bikes for a trip to the summit and back.
I had to return to this one as I'd managed to leave my sunnies next to the cache.
Cache was found in good order
Lovely area for caching.
Yeah a pretty easy find compared to some of the rest
Thanks baluke!
Which was said AFTER I said to the teenager....."watch out for that muddy bit, step OVER it..."
Turns out she has lost all sense of hearing due to the extreme hunger she has had to endure for the last 20 minutes or so......."THERES A BIG SWAMP HERE!, HOW DO WE GET AROUND THAT!"
She said after watching me carefully step over it without getting wet......
The hardest part for Dad was when he stopped, sighed, and turned around to give directions, to see the Queen mimicking the distraught starving and at wits end teenager, from behind her....
I think she saw me smirk......
Dead man walking........
Anyway, somehow we managed to make our way over to this one despite the world about to end, and everyone wandered into the bush, then backed up, then went forward and found the cache.
And then it turned out that we hadn't in fact reached the end of the world, cause we are now STILL WALKING!......
She wants to see the manager.......
thanks baluke!
While up here we couldn't pass up the chance to find a few caches on the return walk from
Mt St Gwinear.
.
an easy one

We started at the bottom of the mountain and worked our way up the road to the carpark where we donned our bike helmets and mounted our bikes. From there we rode, and pushed our bikes up some steep inclines, over grassy 'fields' and even at one point carried them through some thick scrub land. During the whole day we only saw three other people so we pretty well had the mountain to ourselves.
Onto the caches, and the hides varied from quick finds to spending some time searching high and low but in the end we found all the caches that were available for us to find. What can I say, other than this is what caching is all about; awesome location, perfect weather, great company and fun, along with a fantastic series of caches to find. What better way to finish of the day with a nice cold beer in the bar with the boys with fantastic views out of the windows.
A bit of bush bashing required here but we found it in the end. A big thanks to Baluke for the caches we found today.
Hd a ball up here today on Mt Baw Baw doing this caches - what a great place to visit. No snow this time of year, and bitchumen in carpark so hot it melted out shoes! Fantastic day with no dnfs. All caches were in good nick, some tricker than others.
Thanks baluke for taking me caching in a great part of Victoria - memorable! And thanks lads for a great day!
Find #1833
Today I headed to Mount Baw Baw with Stemicmitsar with the intention of finding caches that would help me qualify for the "Lonely Cache" challenge and both of us qualify for the "Significant Hike" challenge.
This was our first visit to this cache today. The reason for the second visit I won't share with you. I do note however, that the previous finder also suffered from momentary amnesia so it seems that we are in good company. SL TFTC
Today I headed up to Mt. Baw Baw with biggles1024 to find a few caches that will help us complete some challengers that we have been working on.
We intended to find this one later on but as we had to go this way to get back on track, we had a look while we were there. At GZ it was a quick search and the cache was found.
Thanks to baluke for placing this cache.
German saying - if you're too dumb to remember, you gotta walk.
Yeah I left my hiking poles at GZ so I had to go back and take an extra couple of 100m. That said all the geocaching and water-fetching side-trips I took added to the total of 42km hiking in three days. The rest of the crew took total credit for it as well but I'm a nice guy and let them believe that - knowing they did a couple of km less.
Thanks and cheers

This was a brisk find after a good walk. Good to see the ahomberg hand in this.
Another quick find.
Thanks for the cache baluke
TNLN, thanks baluke

Today was a massive epic run which accumulated in a round trip distance of 400km with a number of rare D/T combo completed in some extreme range of weather conditions. Started out in Gembrook, then heading to Mt Baw Baw then south to Moe, picking up a number of caches including 4 types (3 type rule achieved) and a FTF. Team up with Ahomburg and Day1976 for today's mission as some caches required a team effort at times. The highlight of the day was witnessing Ahomburg complete his first loop of the 81 matrix, awesome effort, well done mate. In total 24 caches found and 1 DNF.
Been super keen to attempt the Wab Wab series ever since it was publish and finally today was it. There had been a dump of snow over the previous 48 hours, as on Friday the images from the web cams showed no snow. The amount of snow did increase the challenge and it was fun and quite peaceful walking thru the snow around the mountain today.
This was the 6th completed in the series. In fact the cache was replaced by Ahomburg who had been given a replacement cache by the CO. TFTC BaLuke

Find # 2937
So, I had been working on my project 81, targeting specific areas with my caching partner in crime SedgwickDave. We had put into action a plan for me to complete it today during the week. I needed just two more combinations which were covered with "Andrew Daniel Coy - Family Photos" and "Carry the Cairn WAB WAB 5". Having managed to solve the puzzle during the week with Dave, the plan was to head out very early Sunday morning to pick it up. We would then pick up Day1976 who was also joining us for the day and head towards Baw Baw Village for caches in the area, hopefully a FTF as well as some unloved finds.
We had cheated a bit on this one, as I had the replacement cache in my bag the whole time.I had offered a few weeks back to replace the cache for the CO, so he dropped the new container off to me to place in a new location. We signed the log and placed the cache a bit further out of the way.
Thanks to BaLuke for the cache. TNLN.

Distance from original: 141.2 feet or 43 meters.
Thanks to the kind offer by AHomberg to replace this on his highland adventure (low fire risk this time) a new GZ has been scouted and recorded to go with it.
Thanks AH
This cache was replaced by ahomburg and was signed by Dave and I before finding a new hiding spot.

After a small set back at the summit cairn we ran into the other half of the team disembarking the summit T bar and the decision was made to head back down the slopes of some well deserved food, only one thing left to pick up. This cache!
Sure did get some funny looks walking down the ski run with snowshoes but hey we were having fun. With a bit of a traverse we were at GZ and with the help of a good clue probably the easiest find of the day. Unfortunately the log was quite damp but no water inside the cache
All up this has been a great series of caches and I am looking forward to finding the last few caches
Thx Baluke for this great series of caches and a brilliant days outing
[teal] Mille Grazie
Cheers
