For some reason I had it in my head that I needed to sign 20 challenge caches for the Challenging July Challenge but I looked it again a few days ago and realised that it is actually 25! So today I headed up north again to sign another 5 challenges that I already qualify for. After signing a challenge near to this cache I decided to go for a little walk and collect the traditional caches nearby. A little wander through the bush brought me to this great hide. Once again, I recalled the fun times I had playing Monkey with my brother when we were little kids. I would often be Tripitaka so he could be Monkey, of course. Thanks babbowman for the cache and the clever container!

After brunch with my daughter for Mothers Day at Nudgee Beach, I continued north, wanting to find a few chosen caches. It was a nice little walk here and I easily found the fun cache. Our family are big fans of Monkey and Tripitaka was my favourite. So thanks for the series - I think Ive now found them all. I liked the cache guardian so a fp. Tftc

Out and about in the area today in search of some exercise and of course a geocache or two. This peaked my interest with the number of favourite points received so I just had to check it out. I smiled when I spotted the cache so am adding another favourite point to the cache. The log was signed and everything returned as found TFTC

One of my geocaching resolutions for this year was to make more of an effort to qualify for a number of incomplete challenge caches. As it happened one of the unfulfilled challenges on my list involved finding other challenge caches in the month of July. I carefully prepared a to-do list of target caches for which I had already qualified, with plans to head out today to pick them off.My journey took me past this cache, as I decided to put a few kilometres into the legs and walk a longer circular route, rather than jumping in and out of the car at various access points. Ducking off the track I found myself at GZ staring a rather unexpected cache guardian in the face. Brushing aside a resident spider I quickly signed the logbook and replaced everything as found without being interrupted by passing strolling muggles. TFTC

Monkey was a big thing in our home. At the time, I remember one of the family members, as a young boy was for ever and walking around with a long stick and pretending to be “Monkey “.
Today, we decided to come for a walk through this area, and as always, it is beautiful and we are happy to be back visiting.
This was a quick find and we have added our name to log. Thanks barbbowman

11-Oct-21
Today, with my geocaching partner having a lunch appointment, I decided to take an afternoon for myself and kayak around Hays Inlet. I had the tide time right, but there were high winds about, and in the end, my plan for several river geocaches only resulted with one find, before making the sensible decision to cut my kayaking expedition short. I then took the bridge across to Clontarf and took a few walks around, before finalising my day visiting Deagon Wetlands and Sandgate Third Lagoon Reserve.

I decided to continue my walk over to this reserve area, and I'm glad I did, as I enjoyed the boardwalk and nearby double-storey bird hide. I arrived at GZ to find the cache quickly as it wasn't well covered, but it was an impressive cache! Perhaps this cache's size was more regular-large than other, but I can understand the grey area. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I covered the cache with some natural camouflage to hide it better from muggles. Thanks barbbowman for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

The CO's tastes are quite eclectic... but I always learn something...

I quite enjoyed my walk here today, despite the constant hum of traffic... It was a quick find at GZ, and ah... that explains the fave points... here, have another... it's nice to find something different in the field...

Once I'd finished with the cache, I made my way over to the viewing platform, thinking it was a really strange place to have one... but once at the top, I could understand the idea... even though I couldn't spot the lagoon, I'm sure it's there under all those reeds somewhere.... tftc...

Once more I have ventured to the dark side for lunch with friends who have chosen to live here, poor misguide souls. So after a great lunch and catchup I headed to here as I needed a certain type of cache to drop off a TB. Wanted one big enough and secluded enough to be safe, yet not too difficult to get too. This one looked ideal and thankfully proved to be a great choice. A nice peaceful stroll along a couple of paths had me close and a quick search turned up a great theme cache. All good here and so the deed done I headed to another nearby. Thanks barbbowman. P.S Fav point added.

Perfect spot for this type of cache. I have wanted to do this walk but reluctant on my own but today I am ably assisted by Geohubby. Great location and cache guardian. Tftc

01-Oct-20
I had the opportunity to get out on the bikes with La Kedi again today. She graciously agreed to accompany me along the bikeway to Redcliffe even though she had previously found the majority of the caches along there. Great way to spend the morning. We took a different route home to grab a few extra caches including this one. Quite the cache guardian here! TFTC barbbowman

I love it when you’re looking around for a cache and then surprise! It suddenly pops out in all its obvious glory. And it was glorious! As we were retrieving a log from the container, thinking that we were all alone, I turn around and spot another cyclist behind me; I guess there’s another trail... . Loads of birds squawking in the trees around us and the traffic is hardly noticeable from here.
TFTC, barbbowman. =^.^=

What a great little area! I'd never been in here before today, but I'm sure we'll be back - I'm leaving some caches unfound!

Polly the geodog loved the walk and the smells.

Left behind two Travel Bugs that I have been "minding" for way too long. Sorry about that, owners.

Thanks again for the cache, barbowman

The daily caching trip, brought the bike to the North side to log some of the caches along the trails and bikeways, saving time and for here keeping clear of the mozzies.
Crossed a road and made another quick find. Some things are best left in the bush

Thank you for hiding this cache Barbbowman

Out chasing a cache near by with some unloved and I went past this one.
A nice easy find and the cache is giving some love with a belly rub.
The belly rub worked as I found a path tag in the cache.
A word of caution the snakes are active in this area as I saw 2 browns in my short work.

Thank you for the cache

So green after the rain! After feeling a bit down and out, it was time for a cache. And this one did not disappoint. As a huge Monkey fan, I had to get this one - and it was magical. TFTC. Have a FP.

12-Jan-20
Today I decided to head out by myself to clean up a bit of green around the Sandgate/Shorncliffe area.

With today looking like a nice overcast day, it was the perfect day for caching. So off I went armed with my trusty umbrella and giant water bottle, I hit the paths and tracks in search of some caches.

It was a great afternoon out, not too hot, not too cold. Perfection I must say. All in all a great day to be outdoors.

TB drop.

Find #541 - TFTC

Of course I had to get my cache a day. But like every traditional is getting so far away from home.

Well then, that's quite the cache container!!!!

Geokid and I loved finding this one. The walk to GZ was lovely - lots of wildlife, beautiful old trees, and artwork. It was an easy find and we spotted the cache from about 15 meters away. What's that, she asked? Then we had a little bit of a history lesson Smile

TFTC Barb Smile another really fun adventure. Dropping in a FP for creativity.

TB visit - I'm taking this TB to Japan early in the new year, so picking up a few more Aussie finds before it travels to another continent. I won't hold onto it forever.

Out for a bike ride with the geokids, thought we would tackle some caches between Bald Hills and Brighton. Fairly straight forward find, and a unique cache! We stopped by the lookout close by before continuing on. Thanks barbbowman! Smile

Parked near the boardwalk and wandered in for a quick find. CaptainVimes left some swaps. Thanks for the cache

29-Jun-19
Found myself in the Temple of Small Gods. I like the Small Gods. They don’t cause me paperwork like the others. Blind Io and Offler. Om - don’t ask me about Om. Totally forgotten one minute and then rolls into the city with thousands of followers drowning us in pamphlets. Anoia - now there’s a god who doesn’t cause me issue. The Goddess of Things That Get Stuck in Drawers. Had a smoke with her the other morning when I was trying to get the matches out of the sideboard.

9/6/19 9:26 am Find #2534
Crossing back over the road it was time to continue the loop back to near where I parked the car. I was a little surprised there were no caches near the bird hide (although possibly a little grateful as well), but there was this cache to find. Wandering in from an odd angle, I managed to see the cache as I walked over. Lifting the cover off, I grabbed the cache and signed the log.... then looked under the cover and almost had my had straight on the eight legged cache guardian. Cover with guardian still inside gently replaced back on the cache and it was off to find an unloved cache next.
Thanks for the cache barbbowman.

Looking looking oh there is a smiling face. I will be back another day to grab the rest as I have a sea of mozzies on me and they have beaten me on this day. Tftc
