Today I headed up to Deagon to do some lagoon fishing and take a walk through the wetlands. I finished off the day by driving along the shoreline of Shorncliffe and completing a number of AdLabs along there.I parked on Bracken Ridge Road and wandered south through the wetlands. After finding my main target cache I continued down the track to look for this one. The hide here was very clever and I really liked the cache too. Thanks for the cache barbbowman! I don't really remember the character Horse but I certainly remember the show. My brother and I would often play Monkey after school. We would practice our kung-fu and stick twirling, fly on clouds and have all sorts of great adventures together.
Needing a Y in May for a challenge cache meant the Yul was my target today. But there was no point in being totally focused on Yul and missing the opportunity of visiting Horse while I was here. At first glance I feared that being vertically challenged would be an issue but I shouldnt have worried as Horse was soon spied. Poor horse could benefit from a little bit of grooming and his tail would look good braided. With the log signed and everything returned it was onward in search of Yul. TFTC

We are now heading north to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria. Loving our time around Brisbane and around the area. Today we had the opportunity to grab just a few while out in the area on my scooter.
Stopped off here where I made a quick find at GZ.
Thanks barbbowman for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

One of my geocaching resolutions for this year was to make more of an effort to qualify for a number of incomplete challenge caches. As it happened one of the unfulfilled challenges on my list involved finding other challenge caches in the month of July. I carefully prepared a to-do list of target caches for which I had already qualified, with plans to head out today to pick them off. My chosen parking spot for the next set of targets was not too far from this cache so made a short detour. Clearly my sense of awareness is shot. This was another cache where I only noticed a muggle walking on the track nearby just as I was in the act of replacing the cache (the exact same thing happened at the previous cache, only that time I was perched up in the branches of a tree!). He was out photographing birds and looking around. I assume he saw me but continued on unconcerned at my activity. TFTC
barbbowman I found your cache Horse on 10/12/2022, 2:50 pm. This is my find 4552 and find # 7 today. Found a usual hide but dismissed it. Searched around but nothing found. Went back to the original idea and sure enough it’s there. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
I had to leave my geo-dogs tethered to a nearby stump to access GZ, but got to Horse via the high grass. Nice. TFTC
Another play day with Peppa and after a meet up with Gcoven to help with her cache maintenance run, we are continuing our hunt for more caches.
After finding a nearby puzzle we couldn't go past this cache. Wetlands lived up to its name with much water around. Peppa offered to go in and try not to get too wet while I cheered him on from the path!! Go Team!!
Located the cache, SL then returned as found while mozzies attempting to carry him away. Will have to find the others in here another day and wear wet shoes.

Out with Patrol14 and having just collected a nearby puzzle we thought that this cache being soooo close we should collect it too….
The wetlands certainly lived up to their name today… with a mozzie in each ear I gingerly walked on grasses to GZ while Patrol14 supervised from the path…
This is enough wetlands for me today…. Tftc…

Today, with my geocaching partner having a lunch appointment, I decided to take an afternoon for myself and kayak around Hays Inlet. I had the tide time right, but there were high winds about, and in the end, my plan for several river geocaches only resulted with one find, before making the sensible decision to cut my kayaking expedition short. I then took the bridge across to Clontarf and took a few walks around, before finalising my day visiting Deagon Wetlands and Sandgate Third Lagoon Reserve.
After I arrived and I started to search for this cache, I managed to make this find in a safe hiding spot. A nicely themed cache, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. The cache is perhaps more micro-small than other, but I can understand the rationale to why this was selected. Thanks barbbowman for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

We really enjoyed our Sunday Geocaching day out. We met early with friends to collect a few on the north side and in this area.
This one was a short walk in on some good trails, and then a small walk, leaving the Trail and heading to GZ.
A small tell-tale sign led to us spotting the clever hide for this one.
Horsie is intact and fine, and we were careful to make sure we did not pull his noose too tight!
Log signed, and then time to continue our walk further through this beautiful paper bark forest.
Thanks barbbowman. We love your hides throughout this northern part of Brisbane.

Lovely reunion with Domsky, Snickerallan and Tenkae. Signed the logs for the challenge cache in the area, found some other caches nearby and a suitable lunch at the Full Moon Restaurant for our lunacy.
Easy quick find at gz.
Thanks for the cache and taking us here barbbowman. Enjoyed the adventure.

thanks for placing this tricky cache. Glad I had my geohubby with me to reach it.
After a catch up with friends at the nearby Full Moon for lunch I decided to grab a couple more before heading home. Seems I was following Tracey here. Well the cache log says she was here today though she's logged it as yesterday. Interesting cache container. All good here thanks barbbowman.
Thanks barbbowman for your effort and creativity in placing these caches. Love them. Found after a little bit of a search until I looked and saw the telltale sign. Tftc
In the area with geodog Polly and time to kill, so I thought why not have a wander in this reserve.
Having lived nearby for more than 5 years I'm surprised I've never been here before, but I suppose life is like that!
Found the cache in good condition after a short search.
Thanks for the cache

Today I volunteered to help clean the boat from the days before work function, though on second thoughts it probably wasn’t a good idea. Having been to this area yesterday I thought it would be nice to finish off the last couple in here. I needed to still complete my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day.
This was my second and final find for today and feeling a little rough from yesterday’s adventure I was then heading home for a nice relax. This cache was easily spied and put a smile on my face when I found it. Another barb bowman cache and another surprise. Thank you for your efforts in continuing to give us some variety in cache designs.
With cache in hand and log signed I replaced as found, all good with this cache, thank you for this one. I then made my way out and back to my car to head home.

Love this container. Needs new log, unfortunately we didn't have any extras on us today. Tftc
The daily caching trip, brought the bike to the North side to log some of the caches along the trails and bikeways, saving time and for here keeping clear of the mozzies.
Looked and the hiding place but my GPS initially said 5 m further
Thank you for hiding this cache Barbbowman

First find for March saw me wading through flooded paths, greeted by the locals (hello Skippy and co) and regretting wearing thongs for this quick grab and co after cashing in at the container exchange around the corner but.... here we are. And what a wonderful cache it is too! Thanks for another entertaining hide.
Today I decided to head out by myself to clean up a bit of green around the Sandgate/Shorncliffe area.
With today looking like a nice overcast day, it was the perfect day for caching. So off I went armed with my trusty umbrella and giant water bottle, I hit the paths and tracks in search of some caches.
It was a great afternoon out, not too hot, not too cold. Perfection I must say. All in all a great day to be outdoors.
Poor little guy was in a bad state. After brief surgery he’s all better.

Omg hahahaha that scared the life out of us. Was not what we were expecting. Cache currently smells like a horse buy the log is dry and in good condition. TFTC!
TFTC smile 5028 out and about with Brislions and miss Millie geo dog been to the CITO Event good day for collecting rubbish Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment
Out for a bike ride with the geokids, thought we would tackle some caches between Bald Hills and Brighton. Relatively quick find, kids found cache in what seemed the most likely spot. Unique cache, and also fitting given the Deagon race course nearby! Thanks barbbowman!
On a beautiful winter no-work-Monday we took our bikes to explore this little area we've never been before. Really like the hide and the container. TFTC
Almost thought I'd steal this and sell it on ebay! Then I thought it is worth far more as a cache so I left it! Thanks barbbowman for all the fine caches.
We were adventuring after a week of rain. We found it but we did get our feet wet. TFTC

The GPS pointed us a few metres off course under the trees but a suspicious looking location brought us back. Very clever! TFTC
Found myself in Sandgate today so couldn’t resist doing this geocache. Very cute. Was a bit worried about the terrain but all was well when I stepped back to have a good look at how to access. TFTC
Hitting Monster Lane seaside today in the company of Snickersallen.
Loved the container.
Log signed and replaced. Logged at 5 September 2017 5.30 p.m. TFTC, barbbowman.

Out enjoying a day of exercise with team RoddyC and picking up a few caches along the way. This was a good walk as the sun was going down, nice hide and thanks barbbowman & TFTC
Came for a walk around here today and found a very creepy container! I must admit, Em did squeal just a little bit when Al brought it out from its hiding place! Thanks for bringing us here!
This took us a lot longer than expected. Horse...what can that mean. Aha...there it is. TFTC.
All right. A cache named horse, better than a horse with no name. I had the form guide in the car and knowing I was closing in on the Deagon training track my interest was piqued. When I found out the Horse was from Monkey Magic, I was even keener to find it. I wonder what odds he was paying.
At GZ I knew this was going to get messy. I could put hands into places unseen, or try to perform a gymnastics mount for a better look and get blackened in the process. On the second loop, I spotted something that looked like a lock of hair. I then grab a stick to start the prod-and-hope process - you prod and hope that nothing comes flying out, slithering out or crawling out. Stop being a little princess and grab it and see what happens. A happy cache came out with the hair. tftc

After 2 dnfs at other caches today i was starting to panic bout my one a day, I was planning to get another one in here but saw this one was before that one lol. Met up with Wheelie22 just on dusk and planned to do a couple in here but the mozzies were so bad we had to abort the mission. We will be back I remember having one of these as a kid so I got a nice surprise when we found it. TFTC
We found ourselves in this area today delivering some information for an upcoming information event. While we were here, we took the opportunity to find a few caches. We found this cache quite easily and were a little surprised by the cute cache guardian as it was not what we were expecting With our name added to the log book, we continued on our way.
Thank you barbbowman for having placed the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy

I went to IKEA once and ate some tasty meatballs. This cache wasn't cooked as well as I liked. TFTC #134
Arriving near the GZ we saw that the fire had not affected this area of the wetlands and hesitated a little before very carefully heading into the long grass. Luckily the GZ was not far off the main path and Horse was soon spotted with our name in the logbook quick smart. We were out of there and back on the path in no time. TNLNSL TFTC .
