This took a while searching as several items fitted the hint. Eventually spotted something and there it was. Tftc
Log book and bag are absolutely sodden. Replaced with waterproof paper and a new bag. TFTC
Great family walk today and 100% find rate on our caches! That is rare in NZ, so we combined a beautiful walk with a nice geocaching experience, thanks!
2727. Out for a quick evening walk from a nearby camp. Log to wet to sign. TFTC!!!
Today’s plan was supposed to be a walk on the Red Hills track, but the weather forecast for the lake today was grim. So with a long walk ruled out, we decided instead to pick a handful of geocaches around St Arnaud on smaller tracks.
Find number 5 of the day, and 5 different COs as well. A little damp this one, but a cute little pond anyway. Thanks for bringing us here. TFTC 360 degrees.

I stopped along the road and hiked in to GZ. There seemed to be many places that fit the hint (more or less). Once I figured out I was on the wrong side of the track, the find was much easier. TFTC.
So tranquil in here today..cache all good and wrapped up ..thanks for the cache great little trails every where around hereenjoyable
Early bird walk today on a beautiful day on a beautiful track. All good here. Thanks for bringing us here 360 Degrees NZ
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up at the DoC Campsite at West Bay, St Arnaud for a couple of days, exploring in & around the local area … we decided to go for a walk from the campsite to St Arnaud & return via the Peninsula Walk … & we thought it would be rude not to check out some caches on the way … found with no issues, signed & replaced … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,389 for us.
A day in the Lake Rotoiti area with a walk around the Brunner Peninsula then the Moraine Walkway. A quick find and sign. Thanks for the cache.
Finally returned original (soaked) log booklet. Dried out container again, and added pencil and a few toys. Could do with a container that stays dry better.
Last find for this morning run, on the return to Jetty Campground.
Great camping here (if you don't mind sharing the place with sandflies...), lovely spot and a lot of geocaches!!
Thanks for this one, searched on the wrong side, went in and noticed some possible hiding spots but no cache there. After a while I widened the seearch area and found it, log damp although it is in a bag.

Looks like it the usual on this path but the log is all dampy. We liked this part of the path the most, the scenery and the birds songs.

Brought the caravan up to the lake to test out the new towing wheels. We have spent the last couple of nights parked in the park over property behind the cafe...
This morning it was a solo walk for me while hubby stayed reading in bed. "Just be back by lunchtime" was all I got.....
Walked along the lower mt bike track and out onto the main road...now found this path way with another couple of caches before I head back.
Not too far off track for this. TFTC 360 Degrees NZ

After arriving early in St. Arnaud we used the time to go for a long walk and to some geocaching. We had an enjoyable afternoon at this wonderful place. So nice to have all those caches here. As we found 17 Caches this afternoon, I will do the same log on al of them, sorry.

Found it! Took the totally soaked log booklet to dry out, dried container, and left log sheet. TFTC
An interesting twist of events had me driving a van, fully set up for sleeping and camping, so I immediately applied for leave on Friday and looked for a suitable destination. St. Arnaud has been on the cards again for some time, so it was a no brainer to head in this direction! Lats one for the weekend before heading back home - still so many left for a future trip!! TFTC!!
On a week's walking and caching holiday with trifolia argentea we aimed for 100 caches. Thanks to all cache owners.

A day in the Park whilst Streetgamer is at the gliding club down the road. A lovely spring day and a great opportunity to explore this area.
I was originally planning to park and grab as many as I could today, but the park and the weather is too nice today to rush, so I ended up doing a leisurely walk from the West Bay car park over to Kerr Bay and back.
This turned out to be my trickiest find of the day. Not sure if it was tree cover, wandering GPS or just plain non-thinking...Spent too long looking in one area, then an earlier log suggested a different view point. Once there I spied something I had passed earlier without realising it. Retraced my steps, found my way around and bingo.
Log wet, but signable...just...Could use a replacement

A nice quick find after walking from Kerrs Bay to West Bay. Enjoyed this walk through the moraine on the return leg. TFTC

Back on the road Sunday after a sleepover with Zara to explore more of St Arnaud.
Really enjoying this walk. Most logs very wet including this one. cheers

With Winter well and truly arrived, though the Marlborough version is never that bad really, it was decided that a trip 'up the lake' would be in order. When we lived on the North Island that would have meant a 3 hour drive to Taupo, along twisting turning rods and across the Desert Road, sometimes thwarted by sudden flurries of snow. Replete with winter woollies and a biting wind it was an enjoyable, yet fleeting visit. A trip to the lake South Island style means an hours drive, along a (mostly) straight road and (usually) tolerable temperatures.
mrs capperz and the cacher formerly known as nightowl19 were packed into the car, along with walking boots, for a visit to St Arnaud and a couple of the missing caches on my map. A pleasant 8 caches were found and we enjoyed a trip around the Loop Walk, although it was running mini-river after recent rain, and melt run-off.
After no luck trying to find a logical path to this cache's namesake, Mossy Moraine, we headed along here and parked up at the roadside of Teetotal M T B park. Across the traffic and onto the path for an easy stroll through nice scenery, thanks.
Q E F at G Z exactly as per hint, nice one.

Ninalila and I spent a few days visiting around Nelson's lakes and Karamea.
We went hiking to discover nice places and landscapes, and of course play geocaching at the same time
We found all the boxes without difficulty and discovered really good spots for photography.
We will keep good memories from everything we saw (Lake Rotoiti, Lake Rotoroa, Mt Robert, Moria Gate Arch, Mirror Tarn...)
It was a good opportunity to see a lot of native birds on each tracks we went.
So surprising to see them so close and get great pictures
We signed on logbooks with our team nickname : Lekiprokos
Thank you to all owners and their boxes for the discoveries we made.

fefe.adrien and I have visited the Nelson's lakes during few days and spent a great time.
Nice to see a preserved fauna & flora at the lake Rotoiti, many birds were so closed ! Nice waterfall at the lake Rotoroa.
Geocaching was perfect for walking and tramping around, especially the Mount Robert : such a nice view from the summit !
All of boxes were quite easy to find and well maintained but to many boxes found to make the difference in each log.

Found after walking out from Lake Angelus hut, and still walking ... back to St Arnaud. At least a few more caches like this were collected along the way. The log book is quite sodden. This is a delightful walk, TFTC.
What a surprise to find this little lake
I wouldn't drink the water though
I looked around for the cache.
None seen !!
So I hopped across to the other side of the lake.

NZDi and I have been planning a few days away up at St Arnaud in the Nelson Lakes. On Monday we took over six hours to travel up the Wairau Valley from Blenheim caching along the way. The trip normally takes just over an hour but we were in no hurry as we could not check in to our accommodation until after 3pm anyway. On the way up I managed to get a nice round fifty caches and NZDi got six more that I already had converted into smiley faces.
Yesterday's aim was to get the cache at Parachute Rock then carry on to the ridge to place one of our own, however the weather Gods didn't play the game and we only got to Parachute Rock. After getting back from bagging Parachute Rock we decided to cache in the rain and went came out to cache the area between Mt Robert Road and the lake.
Today it rained heavily all morning and now it has cleared we have come out to pick up a few caches in the area just to the north of town. After getting back to the car from Volcanos "Last Stand" we saw this cache was within walking distance so made a beeline for it. On arrival at GZ it was a QEF.

[green] After spending a couple of days in St Arnaud caching with a couple of friends a few weeks back, I am now back to finish the place off. There are some wonderful walks around St Arnaud, long or short. I spent a lot of time on this caching trip walking, which makes a nice change from all the drive by / cycle by caches I normally get to do.
My third caching walk today, to do the little loop from the ice rink to here, up the hill to volcano and back to the rink. Getting very hot - I downed a lot of water in just this little loop!

Coming to the end of our week in St Arnaud. Day 7 and a bit of a push on to deal with some of the in and around St Arnaud caches that we hadn't got to.
The day much cooler and cloud cover for much of the event. Made outdoor conditions not unpleasant and not too hot for hiking about. Tackling the series of caches on foot.
Walked in from the Brunner Peninsula walk, doing a loop. No sign of tadpoles, frogs or any other wildlife in, on or around the pond. This was #12 today.
Cace find was straightforward. Cache in order, log signed. Safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too

Found on an enjoyable evening pottering around in the region collecting a few caches, TFTC, #5910
A fairly quick find after a meandering walk. The cache was full of water, but the log was ok in its bag. We replaced it vertically. TFTC
Found easy enough on a good walk thru the bush. Must be cold as all the small ponds are frozen stiff.Have been showing newbies (Shortstuff) the ropes.
Nice walk through the bush. Couldn't see any tadpoles but the water was a bit murky. TFTC
after wandering about 10km through the scrub in the rain. was happy to have a formed track to follow. nice quick find. tftc
No frogs to be seen or heard supposing they would be frogs by now. One direct way in but a better direct way out. TFTC #4611
The pond was looking much happier after the recent rain. - - - But no tadpoles today either. A little late in the a season I guess. We bush-bashed in from the main road, avoiding a rather wet area at the start. TFTC
Made the enjoyable walk in from the West Bay end. There's still some water there - just.

Stopped a little way down the road to West Bay and walked across the moss-covered flat ground looking for the track to GZ. Managed to find it after a couple of false starts and was on my way. A very enjoyable short walk and the cache was a quick find at GZ. Returned the way I came and headed off to walk up the lake to Coldwater Hut. Signed log, TFTC!
After MTBing in the Teetotal MTB area I was returning to St Arnaud via the road when I noticed a small track leading towards this cache's GZ. As MTBikes are verboten on the Moraine Walk I ditched the bike and jogged the 200m to GZ. Quick find and signing and after the jog back I was back on the road on my bike. Thanks for the cache.
Once we found the entrance to the track the rest fell into place pretty quickly. Thanks 360 Degrees NZ for placing this cache.

Woke early and couldn't get back to sleep so took the opportunity to get some more caches by foot before today's orienteering event as there would be no time afterwards. Cache easily found. TFTC.

Easy find, didnt hang around too long, was starting to get dark and the torch was left in the car TFTC
Nice One!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now this must be one of your best. Very unique track out to GZ from West Bay when one takes time to slow down and really have a good look. Some very weird growing "things" Magic! Thanks
We considered a bush bash but the ground looked very boggy so then looked for alternative access. SoBad spotted the track from the car so parked and walked the short distance to the cache. Thanks.
Walked into this one along the track. Very enjoyable. There's quite a few of these ponds about the place I see. No problems with the cache here though. TFTC, Biggles.
Great spot for a cache. I have jogged and (whisper) biked the track often. Today, did the bush-moraine bash option from the road.thanks
This one turned out to be far easier than at first expected when looking at the satellite view. Sharp eyes from Hazedaus spotted an entry so it was just a formality to get to GZ and sign the log. Left a frog geocoin to watch over any tadpoles in the spring. TFTC. Took TB.
