All good things must come to an end, with poor health and no longer able to maintain some of my caches I must archive some of them.
A bit of a search along this most awesome coastline to which i have never been to before and the booty was in hand and i was soon SL at 12:21 on 16/6/19.

Spending a few days in Whyalla and found a few cache, or 300!
Had managed to solve all the puzzles before coming over too.
Of the nearly 300 found on the trip over and back from Adelaide, 95% were found within 50km of Whyalla Central, with approx a dozen dnfs also. Amongst all the finds was my 17000th find.
Also managed a lot of 'unloved' finds too.
What is it with Whyalla and mint tins? lol

Thanks

We are on a 10 day holiday from Bendigo to Whyalla to swim with the giant cuttlefish.
Today we all managed a very successful swim/snorkel/scuba and after drying off and some hot noodles for lunch we headed off to explore the coast on the way back to Whyalla. Pretty cool scenery along here.

On our way along the coastal track, we stopped here and made a quick find. Nice spot for photos over the bay. TFTC
Hi there Tempo 0.
We found your cache **"Sepia Apama, Mushroom Rock"** at 1:30:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 14013.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip around the area. We usually start the day off by nominating a cache some distance away from our camp site and then take a route mainly determined by the next closest cache according to our GPS. Today we started at Port Bonython and after doing a circuitous route we ended up back where we started.
Today we found 30 & DNFing 1.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around two metres from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Smiley Badge
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Found by Mary & David, in company with pprass (signed as m & p), at 1245. Our last day in the Whyalla area, and we cached around Point Lowly. Seen from the road, the water is so clear. Lots of cormorants drying off on two big rocks down below. Our thanks to Tempo 0.
Found at 12:49 PM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob. We signed the log book as "M & P".
A lovely view from here - it was so still around here today. Lots of cormorants on the rocks - the rocks are going to be turned white soon
Thanks Tempo 0.

Day Seven of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747. Today we played around Point Lowly and Whyalla, grabbing a handful of caches on the way..
We looked everywhere for the mushrooms, but all we found was a cache. We were satisfied with that though
Thanks, Robmc.

# 7665. Robmc and I headed to Point Lowly to have a look at the lighthouse and to collect caches on the way there and on the way back. Like the name of this series on Cuttlefish Drive. Rob explained why the series is Sepia Apama. We also collected a few interspersed with this series.
Doing our logs we are both a little confused here. We saw no mushroom rock as we walked uphill to the cache. In fact I walked it twice as I went back to the car to get a new log sheet and plastic bag. We picked up the container and the bottom has disintegraged in the weather and the log was mush. Put in a new log sheet in a new plastic bag and put the entire broken container in a plastic bag. Needs maintenance.

We are on our way to the Mega event at Stanthorpe but having left Adelaide we could not resist this diversion to pick up some of the caches around Whyalla. The temperature being in the high thirties we decided to do some of the coastal caches as well as some of the pipeline caches. Nicely done - we enjoyed finding this cache Thanks to Tempo 0 for placing this cache.
We enjoyed the views of Mushroom Rock but unfortunately so were a group of muggles so we were unable to look for the cache
I found mushroom rock OK !!
But why is it called such ?
Not a mushroom to be found !!
I did find a cache in a dark spot, so I'm happy

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia after having attended Oz Mega.
What an amazing day we had today. Last day travelling with iluvtrekking and the weather was fantastic. The boys headed out on their own in the morning and grabbed about 10 caches before cooming back and collecting us girls.
Then it was off to Port Bonython and Point Lowly. What a fabulous area, Im sure we would never have headed out here if not for Geocaching so thankyou so much for sharing this area with us.
Geez you had us from the first moment we saw the coastline here. We loved all your caches in this area and the co-ordinate accuracy was amazing. Great work on the whole series. We even managed to watch a dive boat who we think were putting out divers to study the Cuttlefish.
We saw 1 snake, 3 kangaroos, 5 dolphins, and a RIB of divers whilst out and about today. Masses of caravans and motor homes at Port Lowly and 2 tug boats also kept our interest for most of the day.
So many amazing photo opportunities that were taken advantage of. We really thank you for these caches they certainly helped boost our numbers and were far better to us than any power trail!

Out and about with Felixll for the last time on this trip, tomorrow we start our long trip home.
But, as all good caches know, there is always time to gather in a few more smilies. So, we headed off to Port Bonython and we are so glad we did. It is such a beautiful spot, the views are breathtaking and we had a fantastic day.
Thanks Tempo 0 or your cache.

With a few bush walks and a lots of drive by's, a pleasant day was had.
Cache was an easy find, and in good condition.
Thanks for placing this cache, Tempo 0, for us and others to find.

After completing our trek along the Googs Track and back through the Gawler Ranges, it was time to rack up some numbers in the Whyalla area - gee there are a lot of caches around here.
Today our focus was on the August Pipeline series then north east to Point Lowly area finishing a little earlier today at 7:30pm. TFTC.

Must admit we looked at a bush that looked a bit like a mushroom [shape wise] before locating this cache.
found with 3LG heading back along the coast to Adelaide.
Took trackables to visit.

TFTC and to all that contributed to placing the caches here.
After a 37C day yesterday and a howling northerly the wind was blowing a gale from the south today. Much cooler and the flies were hiding.
Cache found in the last place we looked, which was as usual not the first place we looked. Thanks for the cache guys.

The suns shining, the sea is flat calm, the sea breeze is cool and the view wow Another TFTC
I am not sure that I actually picked out mushroom rock, but by this time the flies were too think to see anything!. Haven't seen them so bad for years, but then I don't live here. Cache was thankfully found quickly, with good coords helping.
CPwanderer made the find up the hill while Aussie Mary took photographs although I couldn't find a Mushroom Rock... TFTC loving this road filled with caches and nice scenery.
A great drive - we spotted the odd cache, fisher persons, dolphins, a couple of eagles and plenty of mini 4x4 challenges. A classic drive I have not done in many years.
Thanks to YeahRight80 and clear skies from TeamAstro.

South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
This is the beginning of the journey home, we really only had half a day caching before the driving began to take over. We drove from Whyalla to Peterborough doing what caches we could as we went. Everyone has done a great job of placing a great variety of caches and we had a great day.
Thanks.

An interesting drive along the coastal dirt road. An unexpected area and little caching series we didn't really know much about. Thanks for bringing us out here. Great views over the water and back towards Whyalla.
Grabbed with Albida on our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.
Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.

After over night at Point Lowly, we are up to complete the Sepia Apama.
Every cache has had some magnificant views of the coast line. It has been a pleasure to do the series, except for some of those prickly bushes.
We also collected a few other caches on the way.
Thanks YeahRight80

After much wandering about on the side of the hill we finally came up with the cache. This was to be the last find on a pretty warm day and after battling flies and sunburn and prickles we called it a day.
This find was part of a two day geocaching adventure to Whyalla and other interesting places. We found a total of 100 caches and this cache was part of our fantastic two days. We climbed sand hills, fought cactus bushes, climbed cliffs, searched hundreds of salt bushes, phoned some friends and met some new ones. Thanks for contributing to our fun! TFTC
Having a trip to Whyalla with Trail06 on our annual post Xmas run.
We started early Tursday and got back late on Friday.
We found the Whyalla caches very testing and we had a lot of dnf's. Not sure if it was the cache vandal or us.
Thanks to all who placed caches.

We made this one a whole heap harder than it was meant to be, walking around GZ for a good 10-15minutes and nearly calling it. Put the GPS in the pocket and gave it one last look and came up with the goods - finally . TFTC
9th cache for the day, with a new pb of 24 finds for the day. Yay another silver find, and no muggles about. lol.Tftc
At first we were confused by the connection between GZ and the name of the cache. After making the find, which took us some time, we read the cache page again and realised where we had to look to see the Mushroom Rock – thanks for alerting us to it.
