An evening mission with rattll, needing a mystery for today. All quiet at GZ, although I felt rather exposed along a country road. A fairly quick find, as per hint. All good in the container. Signed, and returned as found, then on our way again before anybody came along to ask questions. Tftc!

18-Sep-23
Been solving these recently, and was out today to collect some along the way, nice quick find here, TFTC

05-Jul-23
After booking accom nearby last week I set to work on some puzzles close by before we came. Had fun with this one. Actually my second puzzle this week along this theme so it was solved rather quickly. Found cache exactly where it should be. TFTC

These clusters have been around for many years!

They were beyond my comprehension back then.....but am learning more as time goes by...and with a nudge all became clear .

Good job!

Looks like this one has been maintained for me - Thanks to the community

24-Sep-22
Nice quick find here today

27-Aug-22
I solved this so long ago I can't even remember how. A nice quick find while in the area today

09-Jun-22
Needed quite a bit of extra help to solve the puzzle but it was a quick find at the site. TFTC

02-Nov-21
Took a while to solve it. Nice quick find in the obvious place. TFTC

16-Mar-21
#19613. Right, just need to do a quick cluster circuit before getting back on SH1 and heading for coffee in Tirau. No trouble here. TFTC.

16-Mar-21
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our way south to Kimbolton in the Manawatu. We decided to use SH1B rather than the new expressway (which is fabulous) to skirt Hamilton, and to be able to pick up a few solved puzzles as well.
Surprised at this puzzle's low difficulty rating, that the geochecker crosses outweigh the ticks seems to confirm my opinion.
Didn't take long to find, checked the wrong hint object initially, but after conferring with my GPSr, went to the right location. TFTC.

05-Jan-21
I'd tentatively looked at this series before previous visits to the Tron, but figured there's plenty of unfound trads so I didn't need to torture myself with puzzle solving.
But this time I figured I might as well give it a bit more effort, and for the most part things fell into place reasonably nicely. I still have one unsolved but I'm happy to knock off the majority.
We parked up just past GZ and walked back to it. No problems making the find here.
Thanks for setting it up

13-Dec-20
In Hamilton for the morning as my wife and daughter had an Xmas party to attend. I decided to get a few caches before joining them for the last hour or so of the party. Quick find here cache all good.

05-Oct-20
Out caching with nufrat in Hamilton and Cambridge today. We decided to clean out the cluster of Cluster caches in this area. TFTC.

======== NZ Mega 2020 ========

NZ Mega 2020 is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:

20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
All the 20s and now 21 as well!

Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!

Solved this a while ago & in the area today to make a nice quick find. Nice area to drive around. TFTC Big Grin

12-Jul-20
I was sure I had solved more of this series, apparently not. Found what I have solved with jard37 today. Great puzzles now to solve the rest. Signed as JUG.

12-Jul-20
Came down here today with urbangypsynz to grab a bunch of solved puzzles, the 4 Adventure Lab caches and a Virtual and the day finally brought us here. I have only managed to solve a couple of this series and this is the last of them. Now going to have to put more effort into solving the rest. TFTC

28-Jun-20
Think this is my last one to complete the cluster, so very relieved.
Found with my Grandson after his try out at the Velodrome.
Tftc.

07-Jan-20
One of our Christmas holiday traditions is to go fruit or berry picking and then make that into jam which we can eat over the year ahead and remind ourselves of the summer gone. So we drove down to Ohaupo to pick our own blueberries which tomorrow we will preserve. We had made good time so decided to pick up a couple of caches on the way home to Auckland.

I solved this one ages ago, long enough ago that I can't remember what the solve is and I was silly enough not to make a note of it.

Anyway, pulled up at GZ and as well as admiring the incredible lifestyle blocks and fancy houses we quickly found the cache exactly as expected. All good here - thanks for the cache.

30-Sep-19
The sun is shining - long may it last. The school holidays are here and NosyNel and I are on a road trip north - to the far north. TFTC. Signed NNES.

Day Three of our 11 day binge trip we are signing as NNES. We are driving to Auckland but are finding a few presolved Hamilton puzzles first. Loved this puzzle. It really got me scratching my head.

Yay school holidays! Time for a road trip with my friend Ethness. I flew from Christchurch to Wellington. The idea is to drive up to the top of the North Island and back. We planned the trip ages ago.

Thanks novalightning for placing this geocache 7746 find for me.

Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.

Love this type of hide
..not...all good though tftc

18-Dec-18
Solved this one with most of the cluster series quite a while ago . I was in the area a month ago but didn't quite make it to this one and another on that trip so it was nice to get a second chance and grabbed both of them today. No problems at GZ - cache in good condition. TFTC.

09-Apr-18
Today was a last attempt at getting a bunch of caches to rack up points for the planetary pursuit mission. I managed to find 15 caches, just as I was finding the last one, I found out that the challenge had been extended by a week! So i needn't have busted my ass trying to get heaps of caches the last 4 days... but at least I got my own cache total up nicely.

This puzzle was a bit harder than some of the other cluster puzzles I've solved (think it deserves more than a difficulty 1 rating!) and was about to give up when I saw something that made me think...yay there it is. Have actually solved a similar puzzle before. At GZ searched a while with no luck and with a wasps nest where I wanted to look, and again, was about to give up! Sat in car and read some logs - decided to have another go and voila. Awesome tftc

22-Jan-18
Once again my wife had an appointment in Hamilton and I wasn't driving all this way without doing some geocaching! So I browsed through my solved puzzles and this was our sixth stop. Some of these Cluster puzzles have been doing my head in - not this one though. Thanks to a similar (copied) puzzle in Tauranga I was able to make short work of this one Smile It took a bit of searching too as it wasn't where I thought it was gonna be and the growing vegetation was only making it harder. Cache in good condition though, replaced as found, Cheers novalightning, TFTC Smile

Solved a while ago but been unable to find in the past. Happy to find the replacement today. Thanks

20-Aug-17
I've learned a lot from these Cluster caches, much of which will eventually end up in my own caches. A new technique on this one. Cool! A bit disappointed on the hide, though as I thought there might be a chance of TBs. Oh well. TFTC.

17-Apr-17
2922 A wet Easter Monday so I went and had another look for this one. Previously looked in the dark with no luck. I was back today and I found in one of the places I had looked last time. Thankfully I found, signed and returned before the next shower came across. Slowly working my way thru these clusters though there are some I have no idea. Thanks for the placement.

Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] Razz
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands Red Face[8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list Cool
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches Surprised
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches Wink
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution Cool
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]

During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC Sad
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:

Chapter 21: [green]Rotorua[/green] to [red]Hamilton[/red]
After we had seen some of the beautiful places in [green]Rotorua[/green] we continued our trip to [Navy]'Hamilton'[/Navy] Razz

During our long drive we were also looking for some caches Razz

This unknown cache was one of them CoolBig GrinSmile

I would like to thank all the cache owners for showing us these great places and maintaining all these caches,

Together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3BC8B][red]'Dev46'[/navy][/url][/red] I was on a 'sightseeing-tour' through lovely [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green] Wink
During our great time we could see a lot of beautiful places and we also could find 'some' caches in the area...this was one them [:X]

Many thanks to all CO's for all these nice caches CoolBig Grin

Solved so long ago I had to think a minute as to how... any way nice to find and one more of the cluster gone. t4tc

10-Sep-14
Another cluster bites the dust thank goodness. Made a bit easier by a nudge from a previous solver. Thanks for the cache and clever puzzle

07-Sep-14
This puzzle had me scratching my head for a while. It would have been a lot easier when it was published than it is know. Solved a few weeks ago but saved until today to continue our current streak (65 days with consecutive finds) and due to its reasonably close proximity to my father in law whom we visited today for fathers day. We are in possesion of a couple of TB's which we were tempted to drop off, but seeing as the cache is not found very often we decided to hang onto them a bit longer. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

21-Jun-14
It's taken a combination of nudges and sheer brain power to amass our latest collection of solved puzzles. Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I have had some moments of brilliance, so it was time to visit the Waikato to reap the rewards...

Yet another drive through Clusterville... This time, we have the coordinates for some of the harder puzzles in this series, thanks to a nudge from our help-desk. A quick find at ground zone. TFTP and TFTC.

9.50am - Another day visiting the puzzle-tron with Squirrell with some good reults and a few failures (dnf's). Decided to hit the road early to avoid traffic with the All Blacks game on tonight. SLTFTC

Needed a dot day today so stared at this one for a while, then it clicked into place! No bugs in the bug hotel sadly though. TFTC!

I'm visiting from Melbourne for the New Zealand Mega which means finding lots of caches and coming here especially to find this one Smile - the whole experience has been fantastic. The weather has also been much nicer than back in Melbourne and that has meant long hours starting early and caching late into the night and not getting much sleep in between. I had spent many hours in the lead up to my arrival in New Zealand preparing an itinerary of caches, solved puzzles and places I wanted to visit and I'm pleased to say I completed just about everything I had planned. For the places I didn't get to visit, well that just means I'm gonna come back. I've seen stunning sights, walked lots of kilometres (and driven even more) met some great people and made new friends which has been awesome.

I've worked through the solutions for a bunch of the cluster caches and here I am. I really enjoyed this series.

Thanks novalightning for bringing me here and for adding to my positive experience.

Loved this cluster puzzle. Quick find while out on cluster chase on a very cold foggy Waikato morning, before we head off for a 'kiwi' chase. A favourite from us. Thanks.

Back in September 2010, we attended our very first event - a Skills Day in Auckland.
When going over our notes from the puzzle session, there it was!
Suddenly we knew where to look. Whew.

One of the first clusters I solved Smile Thanks for the puzzle. I seem to slowly be wrapping my head around these types of puzzles.

23-Sep-12
Straightforward solve, just what I expected. Really nice idea!

Headed out today to find all the Cluster caches. One of us played chauffeur; the other one was responsible for cache-finding (sometimes assisted by one or both of the kids). This was the 8th of the day, and was found by Master 3. He was very proud of himself, but not pleased to find a slug attached to the bottom of the cache container!

Had a good check through the contents, but took nothing, and had nothing to leave.

Got home from the entire Cluster expedition only to find that while we were out finding them, Curglaff was busy publishing more! Will have to get busy solving again and make another trek out to Tamahere again soon!

Thanks for the Cluster

This cluster puzzle bugged me for an hour or two, before I got the bug spray out and sorted those bugs out. Easy find at GZ, dropped 3 bugs, and took 1. Cache is definitly full of bugs now.

Slowly working through the Cluster series but don't think I will be able to solve all of them.

Laughed out loud when I saw another cluster listing, coz I was not long home from a scenic drive around the Tamahere caches to set up the bonus cache, all the while wondering how many unlisted Novalightning caches I was driving past!

Great idea for this one. Kids were keen for a bit of night caching so off we chased. Half-expected to see at least 1 other cacher out & about looking for #6 but he must have been incognito Wink Left the house in a hurry & forgot to bring a bug to swap, sorry. Grabbed 1 to move along. Thanks, Novalightning - now time to study for my NCEAs Smile
