Decided to travel south today, early enough to beat the expected storms, to grab a previous DNF and attack another section of the Pot of Gold Power Trail.
And a few other caches in the area might just get a visit as well.
* * * END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION * * *
Last cache before going for the power trail, and this time it was unsuccessful.
Checking the logs, the only recent found is identical to a DNF. This one probably hasn't been found since November last year.
Cache check required.

Disappointed not to have found this one, we covered the area very thoroughly. Is the cache still there?
Really wish we had of found this one!! Loved this tree, what a great history. Thanks for bringing us here, we would never have visited if not for caching. We are pretty sure we were looking in the right place, but none the less, failed to come up with the goods. Geokids enjoyed climbing the tree and playground. Geodad did a great impersonation of Tarzan, so we might be back to try again some other time. TFTH!! xo

Mum, sister and me went look first caches for today and my sister so brave found it so very small.
I didn't have a suitable tool for searching so these 59 year old bones had to shimmy up and along and fortunately I made the right choice of which path to follow. From above I saw a glint from the new cache and was first to sign the new log.
When I returned to ground level I found a simple feel would have revealed the cache.

Think it's been stolen ! Met a father and son who had previously found it and it was not there ... Bad luck but a beautiful piece of history !
Was a quick find after I spotted from afar, had to return to van to use tool no. 9 to assist. SL TFTC
Can't seem to find it! The clue seems to be rather obvious, but I could not seem to find it after looking around for a good half hour! Someone help!
We couldn't seem to find it! we didn't get to have a thorough look as there were heaps of muggles around. will come back another time to try again - what a magnificent tree though!
Came here at night and had a look around I might be to Old to find this one might come back during day time and look again Thanks
[Replaced cache, previous one completely missing. you're looking] for a nano now
This one had me beat! Am I really meant to crawl over the structure?? Too many people around this time for me to act like Spider-Man!
This was fun - what a great old tree. Bit of a scramble and a quick find. TFTC!
Took a long long time to find it! Was on the verge of giving up and bam, found it.

This one didn't live up to my vision of what the name meant!
It was a piece of natural beauty and history.

The title is uninspiring, but what a magnificent tree! Well worth a look. The cache was a bit difficult to extract, made even more difficult by our efforts to make it easier, but we got there. Thanks

We saw the title of this one & wondered if we wanted to search for something bland. Luckily we decided to look, because this is a magnificent tree, one I would have been sorry to miss seeing.
We spotted a container fairly quickly, thanks to the hint, but extracting it took some time & eventually required the use of caching tools #6 and #13 before we had it in hand. Then we found that all there was inside to sign was an old train ticket. I had a few blank logs in the car, so we added one to the container.
thanks for bringing us to this spot

Found cache, and after a massive effort to retrieve, it was empty. It's still empty as I have no replacement parts on me so fellow cachers take note.
#1726- This is the second time I've been in search of this cache, and loaded with knowledge from from the last trip, I was determined that while I was 'On my mission from god- (to replace the Mary Mackillop- Wakely cache for Travelling Sister), that I would get some divine intervention for this one too. I brought my crutch needed to help me and it promptly broke on arrival at GZ. So off to the nearest shopping centre ( I knew it well as I used to teach at the nearby HS)- purchased it and back I went. Hung around for a short time watching two teenage boys doing what I thought only they could do. After they left, I tried again, still no luck. How can I get it- well, if they can, so can I ...no one around to notice a 50 something trying the same antics. I must have looked a treat inching along. Finally, hooray, now put it back and disappear before more kids turn up. Not the thing to do in a long dress and sandals, but, not what I'd planned either. I seem to be making a bit of a habit of this lately. Ah... it was divine intervention. Thanks for the fun!

I came past again today and found the place deserted. COOL!! I parked and walked over and started climbing all over the tree. What a great place for kids. I searched around, up and down and noticed certain areas that may have a cache. Then I checked with a previous finder as to my searching area and he confirmed what I was thinking.
Then I looked and spied the little fella. I needed to use my skills to get the cache, only to find it bare with no log book. I took it to the car and put in 2 notebook pages that I had as a temporary measure and then SL. CO can replace when they do a cache check. I then returned the cache. I would increase the Terrain by at least .5 with where I had to go to get the cache. Other than that, good coords. nice one koolmoedee1000, TFTC.

Drove close to GZ and saw it littered with muggle kids. No chance of seaching this afternoon. DOH!!! Next time.
Wow what an awesome tree. And what an exciting cache! Loved it, Very Clever. Well Done - Keep them rolling (especially in Fairfield . Txs K1000 (Was around 2:20pm no muggles about). No 103
It would seem that some muggles may have found the cache. The log was signed by what appears to be non cachers, and there is a very little left of the log page and it is already full.
I arrived just as it was getting light around 5.45am. I looked and looked, until a previous log told me how to approach the cache, and there it was. I thought I had used the hint well, but....thanks k1000, what a magnificent tree.
Could not extract cache container in the usual manner, so had to perform a feat which, in hindsight, should not have been performed in the rain.

Went back to check if the cache was still in tact and found that the logbook was missing, but a fellow geocacher has placed a tradable object in the container.
Maintenance performed. New log book and pen added to the cache as the last one went missing.
This was my first geocache and I thought it was a great find. Also, I've grown up in Fairfield and never came across this park, so that's a plus.
Spent ages looking at a pair of shoes hung around one of the branches before I realised where it probably was.

Glad I wasn't FTF, since I would have tried a lot harder in the face of all the muggles in my path. No luck, will try again when the park isn't full of mothers with their children :p cool spot & a great slice of history, though.
