Of all the earthcaches, I do like one on conglomerate. An interesting location and formations to explore.Last night was a camp in another quality gravel pit. Certainly a good place to pull of the road late at night safely and privately from the passing traffic.Into Bundaberg with a nice wander through the botanic gardens for AL's, and caches. Lovely gardens and historic sites, lizards, eels, turtles and birds. Made a visit to the home of the Bundy bear, seems I like rum more than I thought! I'm surprised at that, but will go with it!Out towards the coast, Bargara and Burnett heads for caches and to explore. Plenty to do and finished the evening with a nice night cache and a puzzle to solve in the morning of how to hitch the van with a car using our site as a carpark right infront of the hitch! Thanks for your cache to enjoy along our travels
Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Next up to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. Slowly moving south. Made it to Bundaberg to start at the Botanic Gardens and then around town. There are lots of Ad Labs as well as EC and Virtuals in the town and surrounding area.Checked out the Bundaberg rum factory and then the coast around Bargara and Burnett Heads.A lot of fun caching finishing with a night multi cache in the scrub.A great rock formation.
Found with geowife thanks for the earth cache it is great learning new things, but just watch the sandflys with no breezes.
A very interesting place to see two typesmof conglomerate so close. Thanks Ozibags.
TFTC smile 20200 out and about on a lovely sunny day heading to Rockhampton for a week Thank you Ozibags for placing this cache Caretta beach lconglomerate for our enjoyment
I had a great weekend caching and Bundaberg and the surrounding areas. I managed to get into a team with a few others for the day and made a little fun for the day. Of the caches we did this cache was one and I believe team GEM_54 was putting in our answers for the Bugaras team. It was certainly a different area and interesting, I think the small black rocks i liked most and ahd a fascination with. Thanks for bringing me here,
We have had a great time in Bundaberg over the past two weeks , We joined up with fellow geo hunter for the day ,under the team name Bugaras. After doing some cacheing close by, we all head down to the beach to check this earth cache out. Jackie and I found it to be an interesting spot. We even learnt a few things about stones. Tftc . Answers sent. This Earth Cache experience has provided a deeper understanding of the geological forces at play in this region. I'm grateful for the opportunity to connect with the Earth's history and unravel the story behind these unique sands.
Answers sent to COFound with Dora the Explorer! It never ceases to amaze me how the forces of nature continue to shape this planet of ours. This area and this Earthcache demonstrates how our planet is being shaped. Thanks for bringing us here.
Was here months ago and got the answers. The notes have been sitting on my phone and just now getting around to catching up on earth caches. TFTC.
Made a last night decision to head up for a parkrun, quickly made a short list of caches that would me achieve some caching goals and this was one of them. Enjoyed the short walk along the ‘beach’ - the best kind of you ask me as I have a strong dislike for sand. Answers sent through - thanks for the science lesson.
Today visited this nice place at the coastline. I wouldn't have come here without geocaching and learned this interesting geological information.
Thanks for the cache and many greetings from Germany,

Our final day at Bundaberg and the plan was to grab some caches and Adventure Labs on the Northside than make our way out towards Bargara to grab a few more caches and to do a bit of sight seeing before heading home.
Wow, what a fascinating location. We enjoyed the walk to get here and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We noted down the information and sent it through to the CO.

A great day for a walk along the coast to visit this Earthcache. We found the observations straightforward and had a response from the CO before we reached home.
Thank you for an enjoyable Earthache.
Our first full day in Bundaberg. We decided to head out to Bargara and see how many caches we could find along the coast and surrounds. This included 2 Adventure Labs, puzzles and traditionals. These were mixed in with great scenery and some interesting nature reserves.
Combined with the lunch we had it was another great day.
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Ozibags.

The Mega has been and gone and we had so much fun meeting with friends. Now we've turned south towards home but we're still finding caches and great camps along the way. Staying at Bundaberg for a few days R&R.
What a great earth cache. We went in beside a great doggy off leash park which Buddy wanted to visit. Down a track through longish grass and lo and behold a beautiful beach appeared before us. How great is this area. We reckon it's worthy of a favorite point.
Big thanks to Ozibags for placing this cache.

We are currently travelling along Queensland‘s coast on a short vacation. Of course some target caches were also on the list of must do’s along the way and this was one of them. Thank you very much for placing this geocache.
After completing the lab cache along the beach and the very old cache this was next on the list. GZ could be accessed without too much trouble and the I formation gathered. Very interesting geological history along this entire town. All answers sent to CO. Thanks

Logging as found. Answers sent to CO. What a lovely beach and a fascinating geological area. Learnt a lot. Thanks for the cache and a favourite point from me.
Found as I meander my way from Adelaide to Cairns.
With no real travel plan and three weeks to get there before I meet up with friends, there has been plenty of opportunity for sightseeing and finding a few selected caches along the way.
I spent a bit of time travelling about the area and finding a few caches, including this one.
Thanks Ozibags for an interesting earthcache.

This beach is a scenic and quiet, yet noisy (we loved the 'rattle' of the waves washing back down over the rocky shoreline) spot!

We decided to have a road trip to Bundaberg for the weekend We found the path through the coastal shrubbery to this hidden beach. I really enjoyed the geology lesson here learning all about conglomerate. What amazed me that it had not been eroded away by wave action before now. Answers have been sent to the CO. TFTC

We enjoyed doing this earth cache and checking out the different locations and making the comparisons. Beautiful location and weather. Fav point alloc. Thanks John and we hope all goes well with you.
Visited this interesting site with Wazza9 and Liz and Bruce today, a very different site that you would not expected to find in the area on such a lovely day. Wazza9 will contact the CO with answers.
TFTC,
What a great EarthCache experience. We arrived at GZ and were surprised to see the area before looking at what we had to do.
It was fun talking about the questions and as a group coming up with answers to send to the CO.
Adding a group photo, favourite and visited trackables.

Amazing! Absolutely love this spot. Wonderful information provided by Ozibags which enhanced our visit. What was going to be a quick grab turned into an hour of BigRed17 rock hopping, collecting, searching and discovering interesting stones with such fascination and joy. Thanks for bringing us here!

We are currently staying with hans and linda and of course you go exploring and check out the area and find a few caches. Your earthcache was on the to do list today. What an interesting difference in the conglomerate in such an area not far removed from each other. SL TFTC
TFTC. We were out and about with good friends Muff1, exploring and caching around the area while they were staying with us for a few days. We were only a cache or two from finishing the Mystery at the museum, so we made a point of stopping here to examine the Earthcache and the Turtle walk. Answers have been sent to the CO. Braving the weather to collect the answers for this one, did get a little wet but always worth it for the adventure and the cache.

We are nomads. Having left Perth WA in February 2014 we now live in our caravan and go wherever the will or caches take us.

What was supposed to be a quick look if high tide would permit logging turned into a good couple hours stay, wandering around, searching coral and soaking in the beauty of this spot. Indeed tide did not permit measuring the slabs re question 1, and we are greatful for log-permission from the friendly owner as this Earth clearly is one our top favorites! Greetings from Germany!
In Bundaberg from Sydney in advance of our visit to Lady Elliott Island. Walked up from Bargara shops and poked around the beach getting acquainted with conglomerate. Fascinating and a favourite from us! TFTEC Cheers... Gaztek

A geocaching roadtrip is an amazing thing. It takes lots of preparing, planning and pre puzzling to ensure time on the road is maximised. I have to say I exhibited none of these attributes as we readied ourselved for this roadtrip. I was fortunately joined by the energizer bunny (seffnjarah) and the Square Jawed Mountain Man (Crookedpete) who both like to prove how capable they are as the alpha males of the Bromance. While there is often much chest beating and tantrums, we manage to remain positive and end up with a good plan of attack.
We set off on Friday lunch time (so CP had time to make himself pretty) and returned late Sunday nigh, traveling some 2000klms, approx 70 caches of varying D/T Ratings, in just on 54 hours. Sadly there were a few DNF's (which some of the team took harder than others), but we saw many different cache styes, and some amazing places. Thanks to all the CO's who placed these caches for us to find.
A night time stroll to this beach is an interesting idea. For those of us a little wobbly on our feet (which is well and truly demonstrated later in our journey with a visit needed to the Yeppoon Emergency Ward) this was a recipe for disaster. Somehow though I managed to stay on my feet and really enjoy the learing we had as we went around the waypoints. We enjoyed the lesson in geology, and have submitted the answers on our return.
Thanks fr the fun.

I love a good roadtrip.
It has been far too long since Seffnjarah, Swellerfungus and I did stupid things a long way from home. So, a Bromance caching road trip from Brisbane to Rocky & Yeppoon and a few ports (and mountains) in between was planned. The well planned though overly optimistic caching itinerary included miscellaneous mind bending puzzles, half a dozen or so of Queensland's Oldest caches, a few wee hill climbs, a healthy selection of unloved caches and other various other interesting caches. Earthcaches are always a must.
It was very dark and had been raining heavily when we made our way onto the beach to observe and research this earthcache. What an interesting location! Answers have been sent to the CO.
Many thanks Ozibags

It's been 2 years since the Bromance undertook a geocaching road trip, the last being down to Gloucester NSW back in March 2015. With the blessings of our respective spouses received (mine seemed rather keen to get rid of me for the weekend) we headed off Friday lunchtime for a whirlwind trip to Yeppoon and back with a lengthy target list of caches including this one. With rain having fallen for most of our journey so far, we seemed to have some incredible luck with the rain stopping just before arriving in Bagara. After a walk across the sports field we made our way onto the beach in the dark with only our head torches to light up the area. This was enough light to guide us on our exploration of this interesting location and the necessary information was gathered. TFTC.
My very first Earth Cache!
The view was awesome and I have to say well worth the effort we took to get there.

Logging with owner's permission. Loved exploring this coastline while staying at Bagara. Amazing what we find and learn when geocaching. Thanks for the information and for highlighting this location Ozibags.
Driving from Townsville to Sydney we stopped for two nights in Bundaberg.
On our drive free day we went to the beach, picked up a few caches and just relaxed
Short walk here, even so the sun was very strong and we kept along the tree line to have some shade.
Tide was not perfect, but not too deep for a wade out to the end of the conglomerate for measurement.
WP2 was easier to access and the rock there is amazing
Thanks Ozzibags for this Earth cache

Visited this cache with Coruze. With the required tool in hand

close can be so different. Thanks for the informative cache Ozibags.

Had this in my sights for International Earth Cache day (yes, we are still new and chasing those lovely souvenirs), but on the spur of the moment decided to take Mrs Planet and the Kidlets down for an afternoon outing. Well, should have read the notes better and checked the tide times. Not to matter, went and found two more caches while waiting for the water to recede a little more.
It's funny how you never stop learning. I either didn't know (or had forgotten from high school geography) why the Hummock rocks had "rust" on them. Thanks to Ozibags, now we do.
Very interesting how two different types of conglomerate can be so close to each other. It's amazing what you find in your local area that you didn't know existed.

For five days, Net88 and I were on the road. We had hatched a plan to visit a whole bunch of Toastmasters clubs up the coast between Brisbane and Rockhampton. We had with us another tragic and there was a lot of miles, a lot of clubs and a lot of geocaches too. Day one was Brisbane to Hervey Bay, day two was Hervey Bay to Yeppoon, day three was Rockhampton to Gladstone, day four was Gladstone to Bundaberg via Seventeen Seventy. Which brings us to day five and it's taking us from Bundaberg to home again in Brisbane. Only four finds today and all in Bargara.
Last night we stayed in Bargara and after three geocache finds, breakfast and some coffee, we're collecting this earthcache before we push off and head for home. We parked in the end of Fred Courtice Ave and realised this was about as close as we could get. The smell from the water treatment plant wasn't amazing, but it could be ignored. We headed across the non-sports field and picked a path through the trees. Out onto the beach and the fun began.
I have no memory of being here before, but I found '[Turtle Walk](https://coord.info/GC1TZPK)' in 2011. So we set about getting the answers. Mostly we had to use my hand as a crude measuring stick and have a bit of a look about to work out what was what. Nothing too complex but certainly an oddity of geology right here.
Satisfied we had indeed visited and collected information as best we could, it was now to retrace our steps back to the car as best we could. I'm glad we stopped by here and this ends all geocaching for this five day adventure north. twenty-one finds all up! Thanks for this geocache, Ozibags

I had planned to do this one yesterday, but luckily I read the cache page before heading out. I would have arrived right on the hight tide, and it would have been dark by the next low.
Plan B - leave it till the next day. I decided ti take the geocycle and ride from here all the way down the coast through Bargara.
It was not far to the posted co-ords and easy enough on the bike.
I wandered around and found the answers to the questions. I managed to take a funky shot of a rock pool in the conglomerate too.
Thanks for bringing me to this lovely spot. [^]

I did your Earth Cache the other day Ozibags, and found it very interesting. Interesting due to the fact that only meters away from each other there were too extremely different conglomerates.
The the more earth caches I do, the more I realize how little I know of Geology. I guess I should studied Geology back in the day. Much to learn!
Thanks to all the folks that did all the earth caches in found in New Zealand and Australia .
This will be my last cache here down under.
Off to the snow and cold in Canada in two days.

Found and logged with permission by Sunshine Toledo and Her Majesty at 4pm. I have seen this conglomerate many times, right from my childhood from when we used to come here for holidays but never bothered to look at it carefully and wonder what it is and how it got to be there. I always enjoy staying in this area as it brings back so many memories. TFTC
With permission of the CO we can now log this interesting and informative earthcache. We enjoyed reading the comprehensive notes from the CO and then visiting the Caretta beach at low tide and exploring the areas we were required to, to note the differences in them and why this was so.
TFTC Ozibags that has taken you some planning and implementation - it was much appreciated.

We were lucky that the tide was well out, and we were able to get here.
We gathered up some fishing line that had gathered on the rocks, and disposed of it in a proper manner, to save the wildlife.
Thanks for bringing us here Ozibags

I first eyed this Earthcache off back on my first trip to Bargara back in November 2013. Due to the shortness of the trip, I never made it here then. On that day we did come up for the Harriet Island caches, and we had a few too many beverages that night which made the next day pretty average. Fast Forward to June this year, I had came up for the WherIgo and made sure I attended Caretta Beach on this trip. This earthcache was everything I expected it to be.
Cheers Ozibags

I was in the area for a few days working and, when my work had finished for the day, I grabbed the opportunity to come looking for this Earthcache. I parked the car nearby and then read the description in detail for the first time...bring a tape measure...Oops...and plan your visit around the tides...Oops again. Not one to be deterred by such minor inconveniences, I set off to GZ anyway.
I got there to find that the tide was far enough out such that I could see the conglomerate I needed to give an answer about...but not far enough that I could actually get to it. Time to break out the old Boy Scout skills of estimating the heights of trees...and, in this case, rocks. With that job done, it was time to collect the details for the remaining answers and, finally, my "selfie photo".
Thanks Ozibags for this Earthcache and teaching me a little geology.

I really enjoyed this EC this morning! We're staying in the nearby caravan park so went for a geo-walk. The geokids & mrs PJATPAC enjoyed hunting hermit crabs while mr PJATPAC studied some geology .
This was a very cool place to spend some time (though ironically quite warm with the sun reflecting off the black rocks!)
Answers sent off to the CO. Thanks for the EC Mr Ozibags . Fave point from me

Was in Bundaberg mainly to check on my 9 caches and to replace one that was definetly gone
( muggled) and one that got washed out to see. Could not replace that one.
Trying to do as many of the caches I could this trip that were not affected by the flood or inaccessable.
Arrived at the sports ground and walked the short distance to the cache. I have seen this formation before and glad it is now an earth cache. A chance for another smiley. Still need to publish a earth cache so I can go to silver.
Found at approximately lunch time and emailed my ansers to the CO and John has given me permission to log this as a find. Thanks John. TFTC

Visited at high tide so did not complete. Interesting to find pumice on trail leading to cache, ties in with the volcanic history TFTC
Out caching with Geckomaster who happened to be holidaying in Bundy at the same time that I dropped in.
We took a long way around but there was no mistaking that we had arrived at the correct spot.
An interesting formation that I have never seen before. We marvelled over the composition as it appears quite brittle but is actually quite solid. It must be to have survived the pounding over the years.
Email sent to CO. thanks for the Geology lesson.

Found the cache with GeoUncle Pprime. This cache is our 100th geocache find
Completed the questions with Pprime while catching up for the Christmas holidays. Due to visiting at the wrong time of day (tides) we had to estimate one of the questions. We were lucky enough for the cache owner to allow the answer, thanks for allowing that.
Great work on the cache, thanks
