We arrived on the Island on a day trip on a cold windy day. The resort area near the GC is closed but we set off in hope. Basically, the area to access is about 15 past the security gate. That didn’t deter us until the nice security guard lept out from behind a bush. We showed him the GC map but he wouldn’t let us through. That didn’t stop us so we climbed up through the slippery slope and had a good look but no luck. Lots of mud and fallen trees.
Maybe I need to bribe the security guy with a coffee next time.

I came by on our trip to to Cid Bay, and kayaked our from the catamaran. I was conscious of time as I knew there was a chance we might be asked to leave. No such trouble occurred, and I had about 15 minutes of undisturbed searching, but with the area feeling the effect of past storms it was pretty messy. I didn’t want to risk being found so left it for another time thanks anyway.
Turns out our timing was just a bit off. Daydream Island is expected to open by the end of the month.
In late March of 2017 Category 4 Cyclone Debbie made landfall at Airlie Beach. It damaged the Great Barrier Reef, the town and much of the resorts and National park on the Islands. Debbie caused $3.5 billion in damage to Australia.
Daydream Island was particularly badly affected and has been closed ever since, undergoing $60 million in repairs and upgrades to the resort. It is a privately owned island. On 31 August Fangsoki, Crew 153, Pprime and I were in our hire boat among the Whitsundays and having made good time with our primary targets, opted to check this one out too.
As we floated close, we spotted the brothers. But no place to land. I suggested the nearby marina and as I was driving, we went there. We docked and tied off. We'd not even got off the boat when a construction worker approached and explained there is no access to the island at all. And daytrippers aren't allowed when the resort is open. He was very polite and explained the situation well, we thanked him and left accordingly.
So effectively, finding this geocache at current is impossible. And when the resort opens, it'll cost you. Sure explains why nobody has logged a find since Cyclone Debbie.

No access to island. Suggest this one is disabled whilst the extensive rebuilding work goes on as the island is totally closed to all visitors.
As this is a private island perhaps also a note for others to know that access is always denied to daytrippers and so this cache can only be found if you pay resort entry fees and stay there.

Island-hopping today... At first, I was a bit disappointed about the many hotels on the small island, but after I had found the cache, I had a while until the next ferry so I walked through the bit of rainforest and saw Golden Orb Spiders, lots of butterflies, and in the end Curlews who watched a large monitor. Later I also saw some wallabys and ended up watching the ray- and shark-feeding in the big reserve.
Thanks for the hide, jan.lotz!

That was a great hide. You will need to search a little further than you thought.
We enjoyed this one. Such s beautiful island.
3 more nights here. It's good to see a cache here with all the Pokemon Go stops and Pokemons on the island.
Theres a poke stop right at the cache.
Have a fave point due to the location.
Cheers

This is the first time to visit Daydream island during our three visits. Took longer time in searching the rocks behind the three brothers. Before I gave up and retreated from the rear, accidentally spotted the container. TFTC
I wasn't worry about the sign and found the cache while a two-day-holliday on the island. Thanks for thisone.
Found while holidaying on daydream. Do not worry about the construction sign. The cache is only two metres past the sign. NO TB inside.
Today we were on a cruise around the Whitsunday Islands. Here we had a stop and we could find this cache.
Thanks for the cache and many greetings from Germany!

Today bineundyves, Regina32 and me did a beautiful tour to the Whitsundays and visited Whiteheaven Beach and Daydream Island. Amazing!!!!! TFTC.
Weekend trip with the family to this beautiful island. Had been raining and we were stuck inside waiting for the right time. A sneaky dart inside the fence and the three brothers was ours tftc.
...together with harry_0 on our amazing Australian trip.

Found it with a bit of searching. Yes the construction is still going on and yes you need to go in and behind the statue area. Wait till it's quiet and use the hints. Have dropped off a new travel bug so hope someone will move it along.
We stayed 2 nights on this beatiful island and we found there is a cache. It wasn't easy to log without muggels and staff.

Despite others finding the cache, I was too scared to climb past the construction fence in fear of getting caught by muggles and staff (being a 13 year old doesn't help either). Unfortunately it was my last day in the Whitsundays before heading back to the UK, so I will not be able to find this cache in time.
I think this should be temporary disabled until work is done. I have attached a picture so you know what the situation is.

After a beautiful day around Whitsundays our last destination was Daydream Island. We had 1 hour to kill so decided to locate this cache and go home with an other find. Despite the construction is still on we could manage to find the cache and log the book as there were no one around. TFTC!
staying on Daydream Island for a couple of nights
and can report that the cache survives ...
the construction barricade is still in place - with work on the STP continuing
normally this would be enough for me to walk away from the search
but needing a find today, and stuck on the island, what else was I to do
first walk by in the morning - lots of muggles and staff - and a bloke working in the area
second walk by around lunchtime - much quieter - time to go in
found, grabbed and logged in no time ... thank goodness
signed log and restashed
and of cause I left the obscured GZ just in time to walk out into heaps of passer-by muggles [:o)]
thanks for the cache

Tried to find this one during a day trip to the island, but after fighting my way through the bush and the construction zone, there was a construction worker stood looking right where I needed to be - Bugger! - DNF
Mozzies were crazy. We had to enter a construction zone to get to GZ. Good way to end a great holiday.
Holidaying all the way from New South Wales Port Macquarie . We have been sailing around the Islands and popped into day dream island and very happy to find a cache good hide. TFTC
Found on this our 10th wedding anniversary. Back on the island with our children dodging tree snakes looking for the cache! Thanks for placing a cache here.
Our first Geocache find. Thanks Stacey for introducing us to the fun. No onto our next treasure.
Did an Island Hop from Airlie to Hamilton and Daydream. I picked this one up on Daydream. Fairly easy find. TFTC
Fantastic place, fantastic cache, well hidden but beware of muggles... Left a trackable behind
I couldn't find anything and me and my partner looked for half an hour. :/ can anyone confirm that it's still here?
We had a half day trip here today and happy to find a treasure here. Boys made a quick find. Swapped travel bugs. TFTC
Find Number 737, found at 09:38
We have been on the island for a few days and leave tomorrow. We wanted to find this cache today to acquire the 15th Anniversary souvenir. To minimise the chances of failing to find it we did the search a couple of days ago. I found a spot which seemed to fit the hint with the GPS giving me just 1m so I searched that area thoroughly. After about 15 minutes I decided to expand the search area and saw what looked like a suitable hiding place. And there it was. I didn't open the container but wandered back to our room to await today's deadline.
Not surprisingly it was a quick and easy find this morning. I dropped off a travel bug and collected what looked like a trackable, but wasn't.
The cache was dry and in good condition. We signed the log and replaced the container as found.
Thanks jan.lotz for the cache.

First visit to this beautiful Island for my nephews wedding & pleased to find there was a very accessible cache nearby. Clue and co-ords were spot on which made for a quick find, thanks jan.lotz & TFTC.
During our three day stay at this resort, we are glad to find our first Australian cache.
We left a Canadian army chain and a sticker, and took the TB T3Q7RB which we will drop of in Vancouver, Canada upon our return.

Spending two nights on Daydream Island on a tour of the coast. Today was a chill-out day after too many early starts. So after a leisurely breakfast and a swim I set about finding the cache. It wasn't in the obvious places and the GPS wouldn't settle.
So many places it could be. Being a Brit and not familiar with all the things that can kill you in Australia, I was reluctant to put my hand into too many dark holes. So I decided to come back later with an older, wiser GPS. That did the trick and the cache was soon in hand.
The cache is in good order.

Found on our day trip to the Whitsundays. I liked the story but it must have happened somewhere else...
Later we went to Hamilton Island and after that to the White Haven Beach. What a beautiful day!
Dieser Cache ist mein 350.

Spent some hours on this beautiful island during our daytrip to the Whitsunday Islands. Great Spot and nice legend.
This is a further cache found during our nice trip with trough Australia. Greetings from Germany and thank you for the cache.
Found it while on Daydream Island with Linda, Barbara and Roger.TFTH These islands remind me a lot of the Gulf Islands in B.C.
Took the geoTwins on an island adventure on our last day of our school holiday trip: passed the ferocious wallabies, navigated the coral on Lovers' Cove, then through the rainforest walk, dealt with the noisy birds then onto the cache.
GeoTwin spotted it in about 30 seconds.

Found an empty bottle, we were exactly on the coordinates, can the owner confirm it is still here? Out last day is tomorrow would love to come back and have a look if it is still around. Thanks
Walked past the brothers probably 10 times and thought about where it was hidden. Had a quick peek behind a couple of times but it was hard with all the foot traffic. On our last
Night finally committed to the find and went in for the kill.

Good hide! Found it after climbing... And then bailing out of the bushes, right in front of Muggles... Not very graceful and very suss looking! Should have just went with GPS coordinates!

It's still there and in a logical spot despite my GPS reading for a place it should not be. Anyway found it on the third try during a one night stand on this great little island. The geogranny agreed with a number of passerbys that I was looking for the treasure. Took a small star, thanks, thought I deserved it, but alas had nothing to leave and besides I found it on the ground after I returned the container to its hidey hole!
Heute haben wir den einzigen Cache auf Daydream Island gefunden.
Wir mussten sehr lange suchen, da wir zunächst nur im durekten Umfeld zu den 3 Steinfiguren gesucht haben.
Don't look close to the three brothers!
It's not necessary to climb!
The coordinates are very good!
The cache is in good constitution!

On vacation for three wonderful weeks in Australia, the opportunity was too good to do some geocaching. Although it was not the primary purpose of my trip, I did not miss any opportunity to make short searches every time I passed near a cache. And I found that the difficulty level is higher than in France. Despite a filter of difficulty 2.5 Max, I had many (and painful) DNF though often research summaries were not impacting the whole group that was not really connected geocaching. Anyway, all these caches, DNF or not, allowed me to discover many places, and that's the essence of geocaching ...
Thank you to all installers for these discoveries.
Thank's for the owner for helping me to find it ..
Ps: no pen with me, so pictures for the log.
