Back in Whyalla for a couple of days and out doing what we love . Wow, when we pulled up at the sign we thought completing this multi would not happen, but how wrong were we . Calculations performed and then we opted for a short drive. Log signed then off for another one Thanks for the multi, hide and cache
Away for a few days on Eyre Peninsula to try and get some more caches.Lot's of driving between the caches this time.Luckily I left when I did, as the next night there was a big storm and large hail. That wouldn't have been fun in the swag.Good thing I can count. A quick find.TFTC
TFTC IlludiumPU36 your cache How Soon? - About Now! that we found today. Headed to Whyalla from Cowell this morning. Camped at the football club for the next couple of nights. After setting up and some lunch we went out to complete the AL that we had started last week. We also targeted the nearby Earthcache and 3 multi caches before heading back to camp.Found the numbers easily enough. Cache was a quick find at GZ.Find Count: 17655
Meeting my geosister H423L in Whyalla to do some caching Worked this one out after a bit of a search Then cache in hand TFTC
Found It!
10 years on and there's still no houses built. Must be due for a new sign soon though, the current one is looking a bit sad. Found the numbers after a closer look at the sign and then off to the final location for a quick cache find!

Stopped by in Whyalla to find a few more, on my way home from June LWE Events, particularely previous dnfs, multis, and solved puzzles...
A quick calc here, then a quick find at GZ, once I found an easy access point.

Thanks

After arriving in Whyalla with iluvtrekking on a wet and gusty morning we headed out for some caching after setting up in the caravan park. Quick find. Thanks for the hide.
Found with richlink while having the greatest time touring the Eyer.
Just arrived at Whyalla and picked up a few caches after a trip to the shops.
Log signed and cache replaced as found, thanks IlludiumPU36.

Full time nomads since 2014. Still tootling around the country trying to avoid Covid hotspots.
Back in SA for harvest work. Heading to Port Pirie but 4 days ahead of schedule so a quick detour to Whyalla was in order. There sure is a lot of puzzles here! Glad we had done the solving before arriving in town. 35 from 37 hunts today.
Grr. Mrs Felix entered the coords into the GPSr wrong and we thought the location was odd so retraced our steps and realised the error. [B)] Only to hear a weird noise coming from 1 of our tyres. Yep a nasty nasty screw in the tread. That dealt with and back to a familiar but different GZ. Log signed and off we went.

FYI for those who see that the sign is falling apart!
I've checked the sign and the co-ords are still there written on an intact panel. I've added a second set also, as described in the cache description. The cache is also in the correct location.
Happy hunting.

Found on a short camping and caching trip north from Adelaide with FeatherWaite.
We slowly made our way up to near Lake Gairdner on the first day, picking up some selected traditional, letterbox and multi caches along the way. We then went across to Hiltaba where we travelled around part of the property, visiting Hiltaba Lookout and Mount St Mungo to find some more caches, including a couple of FTFs, before heading down to near the Gawler Ranges National Park to camp. Then it was off to Whyalla where we targeted a few multis and traditional caches before returning to Adelaide the following day.
Unlike our trip to the south east a fortnight ago, where we were pretty well rained out, we enjoyed reasonable weather with clear skies for most of the time; the only exception being a bit of rain overnight in the Gawler Ranges area.
Most of the caches were found in good condition, although we did have to replace a couple of containers and logbooks.
Thanks IlludiumPU36 for the cache.

Found during a caching trip to Hiltaba, the Gawler Ranges and Whyalla with e.gregory1 for a few days. On Day 1 we traveled to Port Augusta and Iron Knob then camped out for the night near Lake Gairdner. On Day 2 we arrived at Hiltaba with the main objective to tackle the caches on Mark Bonin Peak 'The Lookout' and Mt St Mungo before traveling through the Gawler Ranges. On Day 3 we drove to Whyalla then camped out nearby for the night. Day 4 saw us return back to Adelaide, picking out a few selected caches along the way. Targeting a range of cache types (Traditionals, Puzzles, Earthcaches, Multicaches, and Letterboxes), a multiple of cache attributes, and a wide variety of Difficulty/Terrain combinations resulted in an entertaining few days with cool weather and great scenery. Thanks for the cache IlludiumPU36!
This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to Point Lowly and Whyalla to scuba dive with the cuttlefish, who annually migrate there over the winter months to breed. The cuttlefish were plentiful, with the largest groups that I had seen from several prior visits there. Whyalla was a good little city, but unfortunately due to COVID-19, a number of steelworks and mine tours had been cancelled in the current times.
Our final day in Whyalla, and so we decided to do some local sightseeing/geocaching around Whyalla's old centre of town. This also involved a drive up a local hill. We then visited a few multi-caches around the area, including Whyalla's airport, and on its outskirts where there were some obvious 4WD and MTB tracks around the place. Our final adventure was a 4WD trip up Mount Laura, of which we had some nice views of the quarry below/nearby. We then detoured to back home via Iron Knob, where again the town was rather quiet, and we couldn't see many views of the nearby mine. It was then time to head home to Adelaide, driving back through Port Augusta.
Is this block still coming soon?! When will it start!
At the posted coordinates, we looked and hunted around the sign for the coordinates, and even for the updated scratched numbers authored by TeamAstro. We didn't have any luck, and so needed to make a PAF.
We then made a short drive to GZ, where at least it was a quick find at GZ. Very quick with the use of the hint! The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks IlludiumPU36 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Not enough time to do all of the caches, but this one was up Bastyan road... so did it for Sebastian!!!
Some old info about the sign helped us out. Thanks Mr Astro. You lot could be waiting a while for the progress
Out with Jack and Sebastbat for some June Long Weekend Plus fun of our own - as this year's event had been thwarted by a naughty virus! Headed out, umm, this way and that way... plenty of little icons on the map to be converted to smilies
A little more Whyalla, then homeward bound. We'll be back Whyalla - lots we didn't have time for!
We did think the Whyalla map needs some more large caches. Maybe we'll have to bring some back
thanks for the cache IlludiumPU36

All the best caches are hidden at a safe social distance
(161m apart, though preferably not vertical distancing !!! )
Caching never stops with some serious help from soap, water, and especially alcohol...
( Good for cache cleanliness and coping with puzzles ! )
Once cacher per 4sqm is easily achieved
Space is good. Fresh air is good. Exercise is good. The great views are very good.
#washyourhands - we don't know where the cache has been!
Gloves are handy - but only if you change them between finds !
#washyourhandsagain please
Support the regions! Hide a cache in the Barossa and another
#keepwashingyourhandsagainandagain
[xx(] If you stay "Covidsafe" you may just avoid a whole bunch of other nasty germs this flu season too
Hand hygiene and keeping safe distances can reduce your chance of common cold, flu, pneumonia, gastro, and a whole bunch of other nasties, as well as that corona thing
Ease your restrictions carefully. But get out and keep fit!
Enjoy caching. It's good for your physical and mental health

Had these from before so Re-wrote final coords on the sign to assist CO. See pic of sign. Final cache is snug. Cool sign on the fence.
Thanks IlludiumPU36. and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

More a case of didn't try not a did not find. THe sign is falling to pieces with panels from the second and first iterenations missing. I didn't even worry about getting out of the car.
Another day of caching around Whyalla and it was a case of chalk and cheese with yesterday's success and enjoyment replaced with frustration and irritation.
With the sign falling to pieces it might be time for the CO to revisit the of concept this cache

Hi there IlludiumPU36.
We found your cache **"How Soon? - About Now!"** at 12:30:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 15852).
We cached around the Whyalla area today. On our trek we found a wide variety of container types. & ended up finding 3 caches with 1 DNF's.
Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

I found this cache on a return visit to Whyalla.
I lived here for a year, in 2011/12, before moving to Berri, in the Riverland region of SA.
It was great to revisit the Whyalla area and to explore some of the tracks and trails. TFTC

I was, very generously, offered a trip to Whyalla with Moneydork that was too good to refuse!
Tonight's stop was in Whyalla and between Port Augusta, Iron Knob and Whyalla I found 60 caches but ended the day with the only DNF
I heard that this development has been 'coming soon' for a few years now
Still, we grabbed the numbers and then headed to GZ toi make a quick find of the cache

Quickly found coords but took two attempts at the GZ due to dogs going beserk. TFTC.
The second sign is starting to fail. The coords are still there. No houses on the block.

The original sign sounded so full of promise
A "Premium Address" in the middle of a semi-arid, salt bush plain ??
Only in South Australia
The only, ah hem, "premium" addresses in Whyalla, are near the samphire flats on the bay
TFTC and a chance for some exploration of the 'boon docks'

Sorry, I may have put it out a bit further along as I hadn't read the hint and I was in a hurry to rehide it because of the dog.
I went for a bit of a bike ride this morning, I decided to do a few of the remaining local unfound caches I had left to do. I ended up doing the December series plus a couple of others with a total of 10 finds and 40km of riding. I had no problems with finding the numbers at WP1 and it was just as easy finding the cache, but the dog certainly didn't like me being there so I was out of there as quick as I could once I rehid it. TFTC.
Out for a ride with the kids so we definitely disturbed the dog!! A nice night for a ride, topped off by a quick cache find and sign. Cache in good order. Thanks IlludiumPU36 for the cache.
Need to replace the co-ords, as there is now a new sign screwed over the old sign
I thought I'd better get this one before it disappears under new housing.
As we got close it became evident where the cache would be, I stopped and got out but even as I began cautioning Kev to keep quiet he was loudly expounding his ideas about the hide and the dog started... I found it after only a few minutes because after doing a quick sweep of my side I assumed Kev would have missed it (again) and swept his side of GZ coming up trumps within a metre.

Found with YR80, it was in his hands. I had no idea this was here so I guess there must be a few around the town I dont know about yet.
It seems your question is answered. I called in today to get the co-ords and the entire block is pegged out for new housing, streets etc. I guess we had better get moving or miss out on this cache soon.
Some time ago I had also thought of trying to set up a multi using coords written in “invisible” ink which fluoresces under a UV light. I had a look at the logs on a few cache pages which had the “UV light needed” attribute and saw that the fading numbers issue appeared to be a problem with some of them. I planned to put the wp2 coords on a card inside an opaque container and thought that would be OK. But then I found another “problem”. When I wrote the coords on a card using a UV pen, they seemed to be invisible when looked at inside the house, but when I took the card outside, you could (just) read the numbers by ambient light. Clearly there was enough UV even in indirect sunlight to cause the ink to fluoresce. I think if the numbers are written in a place where there is no ambient sunlight the idea would work, but I don’t know of any suitable underground tunnels around here!
No problem with reading the numbers now and I thought I’d fooled the local dog until the cache clicking back into its hidey hole got a reaction!
Thanks IlludiumPU36.

Yes, the permanent UV marker seems to fade quite readily in the sun, so I have re-written the numbers in a more permanent manner on the front of the sign. You no longer need a UV light.
Sorry for the inconvenience...and the time it took me to fix it up.

note for anyone planing make a UV caches.
I have done some experimenting with UV pens over the last few days, I have also seen the same issue as the CO has, it looks like after a couple of days in the sun the writing no longer glows where the UV light is put on it, I have also put some in the shade and that still works but i do not know for how much longer that is going to work as it had faded a bit.

I have now checked this twice and besides the four orange hand prints bugger if I can work out any numbers from it
In case you didn't know where to get a UV light - if you have a child with an invisible ink pen and it came with a little LED light, that will work...it's what I use!
FTF 22:47 but not with out issues and help from the OP. I used my UV light (an official Geocaching one) and was unable to see anything useful found where the correct place for the numbers are and rechecked with the light, once again it did not make the text visible. But in the process of this found I can in fact read them just using the light off my Iphone screen by its reflections, so anyway found cache and sign it while the poor dog in the neighbor hood was getting shouted at as it was barking at me getting the cache container anyway TFTC
