After a marathon weekend (and maybe past) with my GC Adventure friends, DarkSideDan and QueenK8, enjoying a fun-filled geocaching trip. Its been a fantastic opportunity to explore so much, and of course share many laughs and/or head scratching along the way.All caches found were signed DQk10 or our personal IDs DSD, QueenK8 and C10A, depending who has found it before. All caches found were in range, good condition and ticked all boxes. Any concerns were logged with COs.Thanks for giving us another memorable adventure to add to our trip.Well be on the lookout for more caches as we continue exploring.More adventures ahead!Kind regards,C10Appel
I have seen similar caches like this before, but they are always fun. Well done! The inner cache and log are good. The outer layer...well, being positive, it's now more camouflaged. TFTC baby&Mrs gopher.
#6639.After completing the hiking trail, we decided to have our lunch in town. On the way there, we stopped for a few caches. This was a fun and unique one and we all enjoyed retrieving the log sheet. It earns a FP from us. TFTC!
Reperio 09:22Day 3 of our Wagga Wagga trip, and Master Vitruvius and I started the day out with a FTF, followed by a drive out to Uranquinty and The Rock. Mostly every cache was found in good condition, and for the third day in a row, had a fantastic day out caching. I had heard about this series of caches, and so junior MV was particularly keen to find them. Loved them. Ah - an eponymous DROP BEAR - a tad soggy BUT he did relinquish the log book which was dry. After a really fab walk up to Kengal over yonder weirdobiker and I joined our other geobuddies to continue on a multi mission to Wagga. We then enjoyed a welcome cuppa and recovery lunch with baby&Mrs gopher before heading off into the wild quirky world of geocaching. Thanks for the cache and the FUN!
On my retirement weekend to myself away here in the Wagga district, I couldnt help but check this cache out. As a regular bush runner for many many years, I can actually say that I have been menaced by an actual real drop bear! Not joking here!Fell on to the ground right in front of me in the bush in Appin. I feared for my life knowing the ferocity of drop bears..well, ok, that may be a bit of a stretch, he actually ran straight back up the same tree and proceeded to snap branches that were falling in my direction. True! I have a partial video! So the curiosity was strong, especially as I was about to turn in to my ultimate target just across the road. With so many FPs, I just had to take a look.Well, maybe not quite so ferocious, and unfortunately looking a little more like the sleeping kangaroo across the road, I was not concerned by this drop bear, so I signed and re stuffed so that the cache was not hanging your this time. A fun cache, the style of which Ive only rarely come across so far!
We love the bear caches. After climbing to summit of the Rock we had to get this on the way out.
Day 13 of my interstate trip. Today I left Burrumbuttock which was a great donation camp site and continued north and made it as far as Oura which is East of Wagga Wagga which is where I set up camp for the night. I managed to find 23 caches today and ended up with a bad day for DNF's with 7.Graet cache worth a visit.TFTC baby&Mrs gopher
Gotta love a Drop Bear story! We are lucky to have a few similar hides near home. A FP added, and a couple of TBs dropped off to continue their journey.
Found on our canberra journey. We wander through the land, grabbing caches and seeing the sights even occasionally catching up with friends A good day was had while grabbing these caches with lots of miles covered Thanks for placing them *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Canberra GeoBash DashDay Seven: Wagga Wagga to Barham. Weather: Rain!!!One of three Drop Bear caches found around The Rock today. Awesome stuff! Great construction and I bet the kids just love these. Thanks so much for the fun baby&Mrs. gopher.
Enroute to Canberra via a few extra locations, after an overnight stay in town we found your enjoyable and novel cache. Thanks baby&Mrs gopher for your cache and for contributing to a great weekend.
Seeing all the fav points I just had to stop and take a look at the local drop bear, he sure blends in well into his natural environment Another fav for the fun hideThanks for the cache
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Wending our way towards Canberra for the Mega. With a stopover at The Rock to say Gday to baby&Mrs gopher this morning we were lucky enough to accompany them on a maintenance run. After lunch we headed out on our own to grab a few more caches. TFTC baby&Mrs gopher
It was clear to us that this bear was treated with particular care. Yes, it is getting on in years, but everything still worked on site.*Filser1* and I are now also in this logbook.T4TC
On our travel, TEMBO! and I, visited the cache and signed the logbook. Nice work, we enjoyed it.Thanks to baby&Mrs gopher for hiding and maintaining the cache.T4TC Filser1
A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY EIGHTEEN: After a few nights camped at Oura beach, it was time to move on, heading south. Once RoamingHowie spotted the telltale sign, I waited in anticipation for the cache. Then carefully opened to find an 8-legged cache guardian which quickly scurried away. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, baby&Mrs gopher ~~
It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 18: Time to leave Wagga Wagga and head further south to Albury. Lots to do today along the way.Another clever hide although this bear has seen much better days! Thanks baby&Mrs gopher for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! On my way back from the rock and thought I would pick this one up on the way. All good here. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
Great cache on my way back home to Melbourne after a weekend in Wagga. Tftc. A fave point from me
So cool, I stopped over to release him while on my way for a rock climb, nice one
A day trip from Canberra with AngelG27 and ZQX, with the main goal to find the old cache, Kengal, which would complete the Ausmer Challenge. Some other fishing caches following the climb, then some mischief in a town on our return. Another drop bear. Clever. TFTC bMg
Cache 10686 on 23 Sep 2023. Out for a day trip with Fox in Jox and ZQX to The Rock and Wagga Wagga today - a gorgeous day for a drive in the country! Our goal for the day was to find Kengal to fill a JASMER spot for Fox and ZQX and find whatever other caches took our fancy. After finding Kengal, we headed to this cache. I found the mechanism and dropped the bear for Fox to sign the log. Thanks baby&Mrs gopher for the cache and the fun! Fav point comin at ya!
#478 11:19 amAfter look around the wrong tree I then spotted it from a distance. There was a montrer spider guarding the cache. Thanks for placing this cache baby&Mrs gopher
Always happy to spot a drop bear and this was no exception. Such a fun cache that it deserves a favourite point for sure. Thanks for the smiles and the cache.
This one certainly needs a favourite point. We both loved this cache. Thank you.
Heading to Wagga today to pick something up. I haven't been here in a few years and definitely haven't cached it yet. Ended up spending the majority of the day at The Rock with some great caches found. Bit of a miserable day, but there were a few windows of sunshine.
Another clever hide here. TFTC !

Made a trip to The Rock to see how much had changed … I lived there in 1985 in the huge hotel in Urana St (isn’t that swish now … how beautifully restored). Anyway always up for a fun cache and this one didn’t disappoint … poor little fella has survived many weather events. Log was dry though, signed and returned to hidey hole. TFTC … much appreciated.
Passing through on the way to Canberra and stopped to make a quick find here.
Loved the setup, pretty friendly little character for a Drop Bear.
Traded a smile for a smiley before sending it home.
All good here. Leaving a favourite point for it to play with.

My first sighting of a drop bear. It looks a little worse for west but that could be what they actually look like as I’d never seen one before. Soon had the logbook in hand and signed.
Over from New Zealand to attend the Rutherglen Mega. Now heading back to Sydney getting many caches along the way.
Thanks for the cache, baby&Mrs gopher

Found by Aussie Train Driver 13/03/2023, find number 1651.
This was a quick find after climbing The Rock. First time I have seen a drop bear in the wild and I was glad it was only a little one - I escaped unscathed and with my name in the log book TFTC, fav point for your ingenuity with this one!

TOTT's can be used for many purposes. Got the Drop Bear from his very private hide so he can be logged once more. Time for some cosmetic improvements. cache on.
Tried to get it down but it was wedged in between 2 thick tree branches and not much I could so from the ground.
Said expected this to be similar to a cache I did yesterday, I decided this could be an easy find and it was. Love these hides. Thanks again for some pleasant caching.
A fellow geocacher had recommended we find the "Drop Bear" geocaches around The Rock and we can see why! Very clever.
A favorite point from us 'cause this one made us laugh!
Thanks for find #3772

Found on our Wagga Wagga trip. Before driving into the Reserve we parked nearby, got the lab location then crossed the main road to nab this one. Very cool and cute concept, worked seamlessly today. Took a PT. TFTC!
Spending a couple of days in "The Rock" caching
Having a fear of the dreaded Drop Bear, we approached this cache with caution[:o)][:o)]
True to it's nature, this creature leapt out of the tree
Gave the beast our autograph and then promptly strung him up!!
Thanks for the cache baby&Mrs gopher [^]
Now we are off to visit some guy called Henry, who lives in a tree house

**Found en route to Wagga**
Out and about with Happy Pants and The Empire as we head North to catch up with family and friends (The Crew) for a few days away to Wagga.
It was great to be back on the road and traveling. Won't take that for granted after 18+ months of not being able to leave Melb Metro with Covid. Completing the local Ad Lab and grabbing a couple of caches we came across along the way.
A nice straight forward find here with good coordinates. We left our mark in the log and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache baby&Mrs gopher and for highlighting this area. Appreciate your efforts.

**Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise.

Found this one as we were making our way North this afternoon travelling in good company with Snap Happy and The Empire as we were working on a recent Lab Cache and also a few trads as we toured about. This drop bear was certainly taking it easy today as he seemed a little sleepy and we somewhat gingerly added our names to the well guarded log book. Thanks again baby&Mrs gopher for the hide.
***Thylarctos plummetus***
*Around the size of a leopard or very large dog with coarse orange fur with some darker mottled patterning (as seen in most Koalas). The creature is a heavily built animal with powerful forearms for climbing and holding on to prey. It lacks canines, using broad powerful premolars as biting tools instead.*
*Recommended repellent for Drop Bears include having forks in the hair or Vegemite or toothpaste spread behind the ears.*
Fortunately I had a spotter with me today and he shouted a warning that allowed me to leap aside and avoid the attack! **Beware the Drop Bear!**

Staying at Henty Showgrounds and came up here looking at doing the caches on Noskes/Braithwaites Lane, however we were stopped by a large fallen tree from the South and a couple of washouts from the North. Will need to revisit after it all dries out.
We looked around The Rock and managed to grab the Lab caches and a few trads. Will need to come back tomorrow to finish off the others along Bullenbong Road. A reasonably sucsessful day with only a couple of DNF's.
Loved this one Fav point

First quick look around and I thought it had been muffled. Excellent setup. Poor ted. TFTC
The lure of a couple of extra icons (Maze and Locationless) meant that I was more keen than normal to attend a Mega Event. Covid issues asside, a plan was hatched, rehatched, changed and finalised to attend for a few days in Victoria with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats. Another trip away like countless others that we have done before, and yet totally different, thanks to Covid.
The caches were excellent. The company, as always, fantastic. We find more than our fair share of Adventure Labs, as well as complting a few series. I think we walked away with 300 finds, not a bad haul. The laughs were endless, but that is to be expected on trips away like this.
Thanks so much to all of the cache hiders, and especially to the event organisers. I cannot imagine the hoops that you had to keep jumping through to get this off the ground. A special thank you for bringing the Maze Down Under!
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Again thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

A round trip from Wangaratta to Wagga today for Ghostgums and I and as we picked up the labs in each of the towns heading North, I spotted a couple of high favourited traditional caches here in The Rock. Well, it would be remiss of us not to drop by the drop bears...
We arrived near GZ and the cache was quickly spotted. It was carefully positioned so we could access the log and etch our names. The 'pocket' was done up properly before returning it to its rightful place and our job here was done.
Holding up pretty well considering the weather beating it would get. Here's a favourite to add to the collection.
Thanks for the cache baby&Mrs gopher.

Been through some rough fur flattening weather but a beaut hide. Well done on keeping the geofun alive baby&Mrs gopher. FP!
Bear hanging from tree not far from Keringal lookout turn off! He was a bit wet today! Beware of spider also sharing drop beats pouch!
That was a close one! Gave us a giggle after a big day hiking up the Rock. Old mate is high and dry and permitted us to sign the log safely. Thanks for a fun cache!
Another one of these frightening creatures. We managed to escape unscathed due to very careful diligence and care in retrieving and replacing the drop bear. Mr Ski had his riggers gloves and Mrs Ski her rose pruning gloves for protection of their hands which was lucky when we saw the razor sharp claws.
A great idea for caches really well done.
Today we moved from Wagga to The Rock. Not far, but to a great camp at the Rec Reserve and an area with quite a number of caches. We were here reasonably early do dropped off the van and began the day touring with geocaches as our guide. The 2 Adventure Labs in town were our starting point, one a reflective trip down the Main Street and the other a mixture of historical sites and places of interest.
Couldn’t resist a coffee and cake at the local cafe before heading out of town again. Good home-baked apple slice, and good coffee couple with a chat to a number of the locals.
We got to the town ‘drop-bear’ and there met baby&Mrs gopher a lovely couple of local cachers and had a chat. Baby’s advice was well received so we headed out on the bMg trail after going to The Rock reserve. We completed all the trail with only one DNF. Some great containers and a variety of hides and varying difficulty. Not just your regular power trail.
Throughout the day we collected traditional, multis, a letterbox and an Earthcache.
Thank you so much to the local cachers for your efforts, it is much appreciated.

Out and about caching between Wagga Wagga and The Rock and the district/countryside. Many caches were found in great locations and some caches were impressive. Thank you to all CO's for placing them out for other cachers to find. TFTC Giving a FP for cache setup
After spending the morning at our accommodation because it was too cold for us northerners, we decided to venture out in the afternoon by heading down to The Rock.
Found old Ted who is looking a bit weathered, signed the log returned him to his place. A FP given for this cache.
