I am spending some quality time with my son camping on the Yorke Peninsula for a couple of days during the school holidays. My son gets the opportunity to get some hours up on his L driving requirements and I get the opportunity to do a little bit of geocaching along the way. Based in Edinburgh but spending the day in and around Innes National Park. Another DNF rectified here. Smoke was in the air here due to the prescribed burn over the road. Thank you earthlight and the x-trailers, for placing Ancestral Journey #11 Inneston-Game Set Match for the geocaching community.# # #14858 # #
On a few days holiday at Marion bay with my tribe but not my geobuddy this time. Found by muggle Orlando.TFTC
Out for a stroll around the place. Forgot a pen but have a photo for verification if needed. TFTC.
The greenskeeper needs to do some work here. The cricket ground is less than green and requires the roller. We recommend that the tennis court is resurfaced before the next match lol
We found the whole area very interesting and could imagine what it was like in its heyday. TFTC

Found during an enjoyable walk with tassie expat while exploring this interesting area. Thanks
We explored the national park and its beautiful scenery on a rather warm day. What an amazing park- we loved it! We did many of the walks and 21 caches in total, with no DNFs. Yay! TFTC
Goldy and Geo4Jimmy are staying a couple of nights on the Yorke Peninsula for a "must do" visit to Innes National Park, as well as caches of course!
What a nice part of the world to visit, a real blessing to have in South Australia. Thanks to all cache owners for the tour of the area during our stay here.
Some cool history here, I thought of OZGrumpy...

I heard something about a badge level thingy for writing longer logs... so feel to ignore the words from this point onwards.
Thanks for going to the effort to prepare, hide and submit this geocache for me to find, another smiley for my geomap.
Thanks to the cache owners who do regular maintenance checks to ensure other players have an enjoyable experience when out in the field.

After an early start to the day in Edithburgh, we headed out on a coolish day with iluvtrekking to grab some finds in Innes NP and others a bit further afield. Thanks X-Trailers-Earthlight
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
We set off early on a cold and cloudy morning with the threat of rain, which fortunately didn't eventuate. We enjoy the small towns, beaches, cliffs, history and ruins we encounter along the way. Thanks for your cache Earthlight and The X-Trailers.

Day 7 school holiday adventures in SA saw us hit up the national park. What an amazing place. We spent most of the day here finding random caches as we went. Easy find here. Loved the walk around the old village and all the history along the way. Thanks for the cache
Flat as. Terrific stories of your POP and memories of those days bygone have made this series really interesting! Day 7 in SA after numerous trips were sabotaged due to you know what and its the first day it has not been more than a chilly brisk! The Innes National Park and it’s caches was high on the list along with several other random caches so hoping to tick all boxes before heading back to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
Had two nights in Pondalowie Bay camping. Now we are off exploring the rest of the park and Marion Bay.
Nice easy find!
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. How good is this country!!
earthlight, I found Ancestral Journey #11 Inneston-Game Set Match today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Spent the past 2 nights at the Gatehouse Lodge. Had a great time in the Park and around the area. Thought we'd catch a few caches before we head back to Adelaide later today.
Found by the Aussie branch of Dobie's Pride. TFTC!
Didn't have a pen or pencil so took a photo of the log instead.

Could picture my Dad learning to play tennis on court when a lad. Cache checked and all ok
The three of us were spending some time on Yorke Peninsula, and today we went for a drive around southern Yorke Peninsula.
TeenTardis found the cache after a short search.
That tennis court has seen better days.
We've not visited Inneston before so this was an interesting adventure.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache earthlight.

We are traveling around this big country and are exploring the Yorke Peninsula. Staying here at Marion bay and went to visit the National Park and collect a few caches. This was a quick find for us, so more time to take in the history. TFTC
What a gem of a place is Inneston. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here in Mallee Lodge and wandering around looking at and learning about all the fascinating history here. What amazing stories your father would have told and although life was probably tough back then he would have had a fantastic childhood here. The lake is also very beautiful - especially at sunset. Thank you for the effort you have gone to in setting up this meaningful series of caches.
We are on the Yorke Peninsula for 3 nights as part of a two week getaway from Melbourne for the kid’s school holidays.
This is the first time we have visited the southern part of the Yorke Peninsula and we are staying at Port Vincent.
Today we visited the Dhilba Guuranda-Innes National Park and spent most of the day there. Its an awesome place, and the kids especially enjoyed playing in the water at Pondalowie Bay. I enjoyed Inneston - seeing the old buildings and the stromatolites.
Thanks for the cache earthlight and the x-trailers. Interesting after having walked through the town to read of your family history/links to this place. I love old buildings and Inneston has some very nice ones.
My daughter made the find here and the cache retrieval.

This weekend, I headed to the Yorke Peninsula. The goal was to visit Innes National Park for the Saturday to find a few of the oldie geocaches, but also to enjoy a different vicinity for geocaching. I used Edithburgh to base myself for the weekend's activities. On the drive to/from Edithburgh, I visited Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Wool Bay, and Coobowie, and also visited as far south as Sultana Point and Troubridge Point.
Today, after participating in Edithburgh parkrun, I met gridge98 at Marion Bay, and we travelled through Innes National Park. We drove up to Browns Beach, and then made our way back visiting and hiking Royston Head, West Cape Lightstation, Ethel Beach, Cape Spencer Lighthouse, and the historic township of Inneston. With a few hours left before the Edithburgh dinner event, we separated and I decided to head north to visit a few Yorke Peninsula oldie geocaches. Following dinner, gridge98 and I walked from Edithburgh to Coobowie find the *Where Ancestors Walked By the Sea* series.
We walked around this old Inneston historic town, finding this cache as we passed through. This cache was found reasonably quickly, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [@earthlight](http://coord.info/PR39X1P) and the x-trailers for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

A nice walk around here this cache was a nice and easy find and is all good
A quick overnight trip to the Yorkes for 1.5 days of solid caching. I did a bit of the geoart by myself before meeting up with Davidwazza for a majority of the day caching around Innes National Park. With an event in the evening in Edithburgh headed over there before going for a nice walk along the water front for the evening. Day 2 I made my way from Edithburgh along the coast line and back home by lunch time. A total of 169 caches for the trip.
Thanks for the cache

I wasn't intending to stop here as long as we did but the shonky wife wandered off looking at the lake. As we were within 70m of this cache it was too good an opportunity to go and find it.
Seems there were quite a few people out today, maybe because of better weather and school holidays. TFTC.

Found while visiting Innes National Park and staying for several nights in the Inneston Managers Lodge. Today we enjoyed a walk along the tram line on the Thompson Pfitzner Walking Trail from Inneston to Stenhouse Bay, wandering through the mallee with occasional views over the coast on a cool and partly cloudy day. Thanks for the cache earthlight and The X-Trailers!
Eye Spied, Eye Found, Eye Logged, Eye Left trinket ...Then replaced cache in hiding spot. TFTC .Beautiful view Found with Samkxx , Steph and Jayden xp

We spent yesterday exploring Innes National Park, and naively thought we could cover it all in one day. We’re back here today to show everyone we were wrong! It’s such a wonderful place, full of fantastic views, history and wonderful bush walks. We did stop a few times yesterday to grab caches, and today we hope to finish off both the caches and the exploring as we need to move on tomorrow or we won’t be home when we need to be. Such a shame, but we have decided that we need to come back to the Yorke Peninsular and spend more time enjoying it.
A short diversion in the middle of doing an Earthcache and we found this one.

The Rats, steeba and Hoojar have teamed up for a York Peninsula adventure of massive proportion. With much planning and logistical coordinating, we had a great five days meandering the country roads collecting a plethora of caches. Our journey started with a handful letterbox caches before heading down the peninsula following the “Gone Fishn” series. We followed this up with an array of geo-art images that litter the lower peninsula. Returning to Adelaide we collected a gaggle of old and rare finds which included some interesting earthcaches and virtuals.
My apologises for the generic log, but thanks to all the cache owners and caching buddies who made the road-trip such a memorable and fun experience.

After a review of the geocaching map in South Australia it was determined a trip to the Yorke Peninsula would yield some significant numbers. So, The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up once agan to tackle the many caches on the peninsula.
We started in the darkness after flying into Adelaide and the next day set some personal records (550+ caches in a day) and milestones before bunking down. The next day was another massive numbers haul which resulted in a bit over 1,000 caches in two days !
Then it was a little more sedate down to the bottom of the peninsula and then back up the easterly side, ticking off a few EarthCaches in the process .
After that, back to Adelaide for some night caching, virtuals and more EarthCaches!
The power trails on the peninsula were great- quiet roads, some great green wheat and yellow canola scenery, coupled with some great company and usual ribbing of each other [^]!
Thanks for your cache- sorry about the generic log. For the EarthCaches and virtuals look out for an email or two shortly.

This was a trip that had been some time in the making. A journey from Wollongong in New South Wales to the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, in search of large numbers. Five days were set aside, and The Rats, Steeba, and myself planned the details out. Lofty numbers were floated; we could find one thousand geocahces... Maybe more! The world was our oyster, all we had to do was make it happen.
We flew into Adelaide and quickly rented our car, then headed off for a series of thirty letterbox caches late that night. We then set up camp, ready for the next few days.
Two days journeying down the Yorke Peninsular saw us collect 550 caches the first day, and 450 the next. One thousand caches in two days! The numbers were phenomenal, unheard of, and excellent! At one stage we found fifty caches in a one hour period! We worked ourselves into a solid routine, and managed to push these numbers without caching after dark. Incredible! We camped out beside the trail, ready to commence again the following morning.
Having reached our goal of one thousand, we rented a cabin and enjoyed a solid relax and beet, and we were then able to dedicate the remaining time to specific caches, mostly Earthcaches to keep Steeba (The Professor) happy, and a good number of Vrtuals as well, as we made our way back from the end of the Yorke Peninsular to Adelaide. It really became a Tour De Earthcache! If your geocache is such a hide, stand-by, as Steeba will soon contact you with our answers.
As is always the case with these trips, the company was the highlight, with banter non stop, the time went by in an instant.
We saw some amazing things, found some excellent caches, and had an absolute blast.
Ticking just over 1300 finds for the trip, you will have to excuse the boilerplate logs!
Thanks to all of the cache hiders for their efforts in placing and maintaining their hides. It was fantastic exploring this part of the world that I had never visited before. Thanks also to my geocaching partners, without whom such a trip would not be possible, nor fun!
Cheers
