Found It!This took a bit of searching but eventually I spotted it. Then had to use some pliers and multi-grips to get the cache open.TFTC
still there - my way there witk bike it was so terrible. Becouse that big pipe on left side I had to carry my bike all the time on my neck :O Place around is nice - TFTC
Nifty little hidey hole. Unfortunately we couldn't open the cache, it's stuck solid. I'll have to come back with some needlenose pliers or something. Took a photo instead
Found, but couldn't get the lid off. Messaged CO with a pic. Had a cat cache guardian.
Well I think that D/T rating depends on the time of day. We picked the worst possible time, if only we'd been here six hours earlier or seven hours later it would've been much less challenging. We approached this cache from the west - a pleasant shaded walk before emerging into the sun to search here. We checked a lot of places we thought likely, to no avail, before the snacks were opened and the reading of logs began. When misspalot said "Apparently I've found this before!", no-one was more surprised than misspalot. With no useful memories and only a few clues in previous logs, we tried to get new angles on the search area and I sent a few PAF messages. In the end it was misspalot who saw the cache, in a place surely we'd all looked at but never thought it would be. Now the challenge became getting to it. No-one was suitably attired so raindoctor and I worked to modify our environment before I made the attempt. As previous finders have noted, this cache is a bit old (the camouflage is long gone, not that that made it any easier to see) and tools will probably be required to open it. Thankfully I was equipped for the task and could hand raindoctor a very dry log to sign and return to me.Then we just had to put everything back the way we found it so we can move on to an important task. There are many more caches, but lunchtime mustn't be trifled with (except if there's a dessert course).
Just one more cache. Oh my goodness. I was getting hangry. The snacks came out. Rassilon256 was paffing like a madman. And then. Misspalot spots it! But how to get to it?! Rassilon256 with the ingenuity and bravery. No spoilers but no feet were soiled. TFTC!!! Very memorable
No luck today. My phone had me at Ground Zero, but found nothing. Maybe try again later. Thx for hiding this cache.
Thank you for showing me this lovely track from the cycle way above. Wonderful and peaceful. What a great what to launch a kayak from. The cache is not easy to find but after letting the Garmin settle, I got 1m and saw it immediately. All good at GZ. Very sneaky.
Wow that one took us a while! Round and round in circles with lots of good hiding spots, about to pack it in and we had one more sweep when it revealed itself. Found with the youngest LegoLady, TFTC!!
This took some searching, when the GPS settled down. I had an idea and eventually saw it the unlikely place I would look. Signed the log and replaced. A very good hide. Thanks to CO
Day 12 of finding a cache out of 20 for June challenge.
Day 12 of finding a cache out of 20 for June challenge.
I remember trying to find this years ago before premium was a thing and not getting anywhere Glad to say second time was the charm! Unfortunately the log was too wet to sign though
Found - but I can not open it!
Coming back in the next few days with a tool to get into it and sign it.
Have taken a photo in case CO wants proof I got it in the meantime.
UPDATE:
Have gone back today armed with a new multitool. I won’t go looking without this again as it’s my geocaching tool of choice. Now signed and put back safely - future searchers be forewarned you might need a little pair of pliers to help open it.

This was the first geocache I ever found! I found it before I had premium on 24/3/21 so I couldn’t log it and I didn’t write down my username but my normal name as I didn’t know what I was doing . Whoops! I accessed it again today from the water and walked up as there are still construction fences up that might make total land access tricky. Tftc!
I don’t know what this area looked like before, but now it’s a construction zone. A fence blocks off the whole road so you can’t access the coordinates. Looking through to where the coordinates are, the whole ground in that area is a giant mess of muddy tyretracks. I’m afraid that if the geocache was on the ground, it might not be holding out too well. It’s sad to see what smirkwood lovingly describes as such a serene location turn into this, and even sadder to think that such a well loved geocache might be lost forever.
Thanks @tatkatandchloe for the very descriptive log. Once lockdown is over, I will visit my mum in Oatley and check in on this cache. I can say that it wasn't hidden on the ground... Hopefully it gets through this construction unscathed!
For some reason I found this GC almost a couple of years ago - 19/7/2019 - and wrote in the Logbook but forgot to Post a find , doh !
So wemt back today just to check I had Logged it. Which I had , phew !
Wont be doing that again !

Cache 7190 on 27 Feb 2021.
While the caching is good in the ACT and we have been able to continue caching during lockdown in 2020, a change of scenery is needed after a year of pretty much caching in our own back yard.
So this weekend I am finally getting to Sydney for a geocaching mission with Fox in Jox, TikvaNZ and ZQX. Yay!!!! The main goals are to pick up a few more of the George’s River paddle series and attend the event on Cockatoo Island, but we have picked out plenty of other caches we can grab along the way for our goals and stats to make a solid weekend of caching!
This cache: a find on the way to another cache, weirdly. Took a few minutes to twig.
Thanks smirkwood for the cache and the fun!

This took me longer than I thought it would. Tricky but a methodical search with help from log photos had it in my hand. A really nice spot and worth the trip TFTC
A nice spot right on the water, I began my search and after searching high and low around gz o came up empty. I found a good spot to sit down and think about things and just as I had a seat, I spied something geo and I had the cache in my hand! Thank you for the cache!
Sat down on a rock after almost giving up, then right in front of me there it was! Caught me hook Line and sinker that's for sure
Awesome hide! Almost had a DNF but it glistened! Almost took longer open the rusted cache, had to thread a keyring through to twist
This cache took us ages to find, then just as we were about to give up we found it lying on the ground half buried in mud - just as well the tide wasn't in! We cleaned the cache up and then signed the amazingly dry log book - we then placed it in the obvious hiding spot that matched the type of hide we had been expecting from the clue and in accordance with what we found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Twas a windy day to be out GC with Oldmorty around the Oatley area. So many oyster shells here. A graveyard with one living cache to be found. Reeled it in and signed, replaced and again enjoyed the sunlight. TFTC!
OCW Morty8888 around Oatley today. Another cache that I have had difficulty with in the past. Not so for Morty8888 who again got the sun in the right location to sparkle on the cache. TFTC
Lovely spot to have a quick break from work and seen this was nearby so headed to find it. Found with ease but it’s not obvious until you really look and TADA TFTC
Found today while out on an afternoon ramble with the geo-kiddies.
Full disclosure, this is not the first time I have searched for this one, with an unlogged DNF soon after I started caching. Today I was back for another search hoping to make a find to fill a day on the calendar. With much more experience under my belt and after some careful tip toeing around the mangroves a tell tail sign was spotted and success cache in hand. Clever hint, I like it! And yes this does remind me of the buckleberry ferry although I wouldnt want to rely on this to ferry me away from the Nazgul! Cache is in good order.
Thanks for the cache smirkwood. Clever hide and thoughtful location. Some interesting George’s River history here, I can remember a time when this bay was full of oyster beds.

Lots of salt defying strategy near by. Luckily I didn’t need a feed of oysters tho someone must have been hungry. No dental floss required.
Thanks smirkwood and clear skies from TeamAstro. ️ Cache the planet!

Here we can find after a while searching. A tricky hide.

Circled a GZ several times paying attention to terrain rating and warnings not to trample the mangroves. Even checked a spoiler photo to determine a shape or colour I should be looking for when it was more an attachment method that made the clue now make sense, caught my eye. Finally!
Fourth and final find of the day, among the oyster shells near the shore of the river.
Thanks for bringing me here, and thanks for the cache.

Took a slight deviation on the way to work today, jumping off the M5 Motorway at King Georges Road, to grab a few caches around Oatley. Have been busy creating caches, with 6 published last month and another one almost ready to go, so it was nice to get out & about to make some finds. This was the 3rd of 5 finds for today.
Parked the geomobile at the end of Wyong Street and then strolled over to GZ for a look. Searched around for a short while before uncovering the sneaky hide, and thereby having CIH. Signed the log sheet and then replaced as found. Lots of old oyster shells laying around GZ, and the view out over the river was quite nice too. TFTC smirkwood.

I had 2 muggles in one of the houses across the way watching me.
Ill come back anotger day.

Nice peaceful area. Didnt take too long to spot once at GZ. Thanks for bringing us to this nice area TFTC.
What a magical spot. Thanks for bringing me here and to the previous finder for replacing the log. TFTC.
Huckleberry Ferry, my old nemesis... One of the first DNFs I ever got. Now approaching the century I'm in the business of tying up loose ends. Thanks for the cache!
Another of the caches on my "save it for a rainy day" list that just needed to be converted to a smiley. A windy afternoon with the rain having passed a few hours prior, the area was free from muggles so I could look without any pressure. After searching high and low in many nooks and crannies, I followed alnic's lead and checked the gallery. That helped to tune in my eyes, but it was still some time before I saw a little something. Clever! But as others have noted, the log was wet and unsignable (in fact un-unrollable), so I took the opportunity to use my caching backup supplies and replace the old log with a new water resistant one which should keep this cache in play for a long time. Thanks Smirkwood.
Took a few minutes. Once I saw a picture of the prize, it was just a case of which one. Oh! The log is quite wet. I could only manage the letter A with my pencil. This place is like The Killing Fields, but with oysters! TFTC

Heading south today to target 3 special caches. I saw this was on the way to one of them so made the quick detour. Didn't have to cast my gaze too far before spotting this one.

Great cache! A bit similar to wolli creek walkway and a quick find. Added a fresh piece of paper along with the old one and added a bit more camo. TFTC
Found but didn't sign log as it was too soggy. Will come back another day to sign. Found with jeanovanwam
Went for a walk with the Geofamily. Couldn't sign log as it was to wet. I'll try get back down here when a new log is in it. TFTC photo provided as proof.
My sixth stop for the day and what a place to visit!
I sat for a while admiring the view before looking for the cache.
Now, that's a sneaky hide and nicely on theme.
Fav point from me

Spent the day cyclo-exploring the Oatley area with some caching action.
Fun day out with a tally of 11 finds, 1 DNF and a few 'didn't bother trying's.
- - -
Not doing well in this part of Oatley. After DNFing Alladin's Cave, this was another of the "didn't bother trying" ones in addition to Vantage Point.
Must be the weekend or something. The muggle-neighbour was standing on his roof hosing it down and in direct line of sight to GZ.
Will have to tag this for next time as well.

smirkwood I found your cache Buckleberry Ferry on 12/3/17, 11:03 am. This is my find #1837 and find #1 today. Damn nearly gave up, knew what I was looking for but took some time to locate. Thanks for the cache! TNSLLN
Almost missed this after basically putting my hand on it at least twice. Thankfully I was with a previous finder who played a bit of 'hot and cold' with me and soon enough we made the find. TNLN TFTC
I was looking for a pearl in an oyster, like looking for a needle in a haystack, until I found something a bit fishy, then it was CIH. TFTC smirkwood
Spring has sprung, my knee injury has healed and I find myself in between jobs... Perfect time to get back into caching and be the good cache owner I haven't been lately. New log has been installed and I noticed today that if you have good balance, this cache is still doable even at high tide! Happy caching everyone
Finally found it after several tries, thanks to a few clues I got from a local geocaching FB page, I found it straight away. Yay. That was the last Oatley cache we needed to get. Now we can move on to Oatley West or Como.
This is the 2nd time we've looked for this one, and we can't find it anywhere. Perhaps it's not here anymore? We've tried to follow the clues, but to no avail.
What a lovely hidden spot to finish my day caching. This took a few minutes to find. But then the log was soggy.

Found after only a few minutes of searching and I really enjoyed the view. Another hidden gem of Sydney discovered as a result of geocaching. TFTC
Second time searching for me. Looking for the wrong thing. Obvious enough once you see it. Thanks for the cache.
Woohoo!
This is my 2nd visit looking for this one and after quite a while of searching I opened my eyes and finally noticed the camo. This is an awesome cache and hide. TFTC. Somtom333

Arrived at the spot and saw the general area where the cache would be. Looked in a few obvious places but that turned up nothing. So then read the clue and figured out what I should be looking for and changed my search locations. Hmm. Tricky. Going from one side to the other and then back again. Finally something fishy was spotted. A clever little cache and hide there, almost out of sight. Signed the log and placed it back carefully. Have lived in the area but never been to this place before, so good to learn something new and see the old ferry sitting there nearby. TFTC
Despite having been born and bred in southern Sydney I had never been in this particular part of it before. There must be some interesting history here regarding the ferry so I am keen now to google it and learn more. Ain't geocaching wonderful, introducing you to new things with almost every cache. So thanks for bringing me here, smirkwood.
The GeoBro found this one after I had walked straight past, proving that two heads are better than one especially when you are out cacheing! SL TFTC

Wanting to continue my monthly streak, I headed to "the bottom of Wyong"and began the hunt. I'm glad I had decent shoes on for this one! And fortunately the tide was out too! And the neighbours across the way weren't interested in me as well! Once my compass settled down I quickly found the cache in its hiding place. The log sheet was very damp, so I let it sway in the strong afternoon breeze to dry out before completing signing duties. Good to see Seemyshell and his oyster shell mates were visible and he was the last visitor. I nice view across the river to Como and the remains of the old ferry created a scene from yesteryear. TFTC. TNLNSL. #305
TFTC - located this little guy pretty quickly, which surprised me. I loved this place, you will see why by my name..

Decided to head south for some caches today, down Oatley way. Found four but DNFed three (one I should have read the logs for first).
Was hoping for more finds but in today's heat I'll take what I can get.
END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION
Well this took ages. And in the end I needed a PAF to get the find.
Checked so many spots as I went around and around. My iPhone was putting me 5 metres away - in a fairly logical spot. Ass A result, when I got to the right place I simply missed it.
30 minutes later I went for the PAF and swapped some intel on another cache.
With the info it still took a few minutes to make the find. Blends in amazingly well.
Completed signing duties and replaced. Then on my way to a nearby cache.
Fascinating to see the old "Ferry" just sitting there. Nice picturesque spot.

Came back to look for this one after failing initially and continuing on the trail, on the way back to the car Mum found it while I was still looking elsewhere. Obviously I don't know how to catch oysters! Thanks
12/09/15. 1:21 PM. Cache #2989. Streak day #447.
7th of 7 today - Penshurst, Mortdale & Oatley.
I came here after finding "Aladdin's Cave" and got here about half past twelve. I looked in a few likely spots with no luck, but there were a couple of kids from the nearby house playing outside, so I didn't want to loiter for too long, as it would have looked suss. I texted a friend and decided I'd text a friend then walk off to seek "Look out for Bikes!!"; hopefully my TAF would get back to me by then.
Found LOFB and then walked back here, with no response. Phoned another friend who didn't answer and then another who was a little hard to hear as they'd gone bush for the day. He couldn't remember much about it. I checked the time; it was time for me to head for home. Just as I got to the top of Wyong St, the other PAF returned my call and had a more vivid memory about where it was. This helped heaps, as I finally did get my hands on the little blighter. It was pretty much the sort of hide I'd been expecting, but it was about 8m SW of where I had expected it to be. Glad to clear it, I headed off for home. Again. TFTC.

Night-cache with my daughter, that is what happiness is. That was an impressive amount of shells, and a good half hour wasted on finding the container. It wasn't until I did a proper triangulation that I saw that suspicious item there which I know was my last chance! TFTC
Beautiful views over the bay from here. Missed this one last time as I thought I was looking in the wrong spot. Today it turned out I was just blind last time! Coords were spot on. Felt a bit watched by neighbours but should be all fine.

Wow, spent ages looking for this one. Hint is kind of mean though, would spoil it to say why. Thanks for the cache!
Spent a good half an hour looking. Awesome camo mate, unfortunately I forgot a pen so I couldn't sign, but the view had me hooked!
A quick find because the camo was off and exposing the cache. I've covered it back up - good luck.
Pretty hard one but just found it as we were about to leave. I must say it is very small!
