Well worth the stop to blow the cob webs out that's a lot of water behind the dam. Found the sneaky hide
A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in on Saturday after a bit of a delay. After a great look around Mount Cook yesterday and an over night stay in Twizel its time to head to Oamaru for tonight. So Day 5 of my Mega NZ trip begins and Im on my own again so lets go find a few more caches along the way.Up early as per usual and after a nice drive around Twizel and my morning coffee it was time to hit the road again. An interesting spot and so thats what a turbine looks like.Cache was soon located and I added my name to the log. Thanks Doully TFTC.
Yay found it seem a few off these around we even have one or two out to find like this one lovely area great parking we are.just staying across the road so had to get this one tftc
New temporary cache put here till I get a suitable replacement. Please put back where you found it
Looks like this has gone missing. I will check soon and if so will put a new cache in
Looked for a little bit but the whole basin is white with frost and fogged in. Definitely no obvious sign, but not much incentive to feel around in sub zero temperatures.
Easy to find despite the haunted dam near us which was screeching horrifically.
Found this cache today after going to the salmon farm next-door. We are headed to Christchurch a bit of a road trip today. Glory glory to Georgia found it pretty quickly and I was able to get the log out and sign Kim $ and GG2 GA. From, Virginia, USA
Nice spot. We spent some time watching the antics in the water. We also acknowledge the traditional custodians of New Zealand / Aoteroa, as we geocache throughout their land while on holiday. Thanks for showing us this place, & for placing and maintaining this cache. The is our playground
Found but found on the ground. Put back in safe place that looked like its possible spot. Didnt bother to try get log book out as far too difficult
4-week family trip through NZ - Find #153!It took a few minutes of searching until I found the tiny cache.TFTC!
We are staying nearby in the caravan on the edge of the Canal after a dinner of salmon (not caught by us) - we wandered down here to locate the cache. Took a bit longer than expected but hoping the busy traffic are none the wiser.TFTC
Looked everywhere with no luck & then my muggle friend found it. Nicely hidden. Fav point for a clever hide.
Took a while to find, especially as we had to stop searching when muggles pulled up. We had been looking for something bigger though as its described as a small cache. Got it in the end. An interesting stop off, thanks for placing a cache here.
Great hiding spot! Log was a bit hard to remove from container, tweezers may be needed
Very cool turbine and lookout. Very clever hide, however log is quite tricky to get out and it was cold and raining so decided to only do a digital entry. Thanks
In Twizel for New Years with AlpiSteve. Quick find here on our way to Ohau C Camping Ground TFTC**Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024**
Couldn't find it at first but then my brain and eyes got together and I soon found it. TFTC
Day 9: Across the Lindis PassThe route for today brought us back to close the big loop of our Southern journey by passing through Omarama and the Lindis Pass and back into Cromwell where we stayed the night. This would be my first trip across the Pass and we found many caches along the way, including the highlight of the day at the Bendigo Historic Reserve. Thanks for all of the caches along the route!(End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for the cache:Just a bit more time to kill before having some salmon sashimi nearby, so this stop was made. I had the wrong idea of the cache hide initially, making me fear that it may have dropped out again, but a flash of inspiration led me to look at another spot that I had missed, and there it was. Cheeky hide here, and the Blu-tack left by the previous finder is holding up well. TFTC!
Just as we were about to give up I found it open and in the middle of the carpark with log not to far away. Luckily it hadn't been raining so is OK. Have replaced hopefully where it should be according to the clues. Used a little blu-tack to help.
I found this geocache today and signed the logbook. Thanks for this cache and it's maintaining.
A lot of searching... after checking past logs and photos..... found it just out of my reach....But realized we did not have a pen in our rental car today so cannot sign log.... therefore ethically cannot log a find
A bit ambiguous. Is it at the listed WP or as listing says "nearby".Unable to find anything small size. Terrain suggests no climbing. Nano maybe but nothing at hint item will come away.So our first hunt in this area for years is a DNF
found it after a we bit of searching but i thought it was a bit of rubbish since it was on the floor
One of a few caches we located today as we drove from Twizel to Alexandra. I recall having a brief look for this one about a year ago without success. This time Mrs tbird was with me and she came across it within the first minute or so of searching. #6043. TFTC.
This required a finger tip search and it was eventually found. Just as hard to extricate the logbook! TFTC
Just trying to work out how to edit log. Meanwhile the hint is no longer ROCK but INFORMATION.
Please be careful returning cache as not to loose it

New cache put in today. Old one disappeared. New location but very close to old location. Cache details updated
Did not find, we think it might of flown away or covered in rocks. Hint was rocks but we are surrounded by rocks. Please check if geo is exactly where it was placed but amazing views thanks.
