As people have destroyed the hide (ie: the container that held the log book) I'm killing it
Well that's a shame - with 28 favorites I was looking forward to this one. It had come up in conversation so I knew what I was looking for and arriving at gz was fairly straight forward. Things were going well and the cache was soon in hand. It was clearly not hidden as the CO had intended. The tree was bare but had all the signs (and scars) of a cache that once was - the cache, a plastic jar was placed at the foot of it.... no tools required.
Cheers Cats&Dragons.
Cheers Cats&Dragons.
I think I took the longer way round but followed the track down before heading back up the hill in the trees. The gps took a while to settle and after a good search eventually found the cache more out in the open than anticipated. It was easily opened. Not sure about the hint and how it applies here. tftc Maybe the title should be 'Catching all Callers'
Thought this might be tricky as my GPS froze as soon as I left the path but followed a line of less resistance and there it was at my feet. TFTC.
I walked down the path to the bottom of the hill trying to get closer, and in the end started straight back up the hill to the spot - I definately chose the wrong way to get to this one!
Have recently moved to the area so was out and about today finding caches nearby. Not sure if I went the right way to get to this cache but came across it by following the co-ords. Pretty cool cache and like others have said didn't need a tool to open it. My pen stopped working so was unable to sign, but grabbed the tb and intend to move it on. Thanks for the cache
With my daughter playing in the local hockey tournament I thought I would take the opportunity to grab some of the more favorited caches in the area between games. Found this one without too much difficulty and didn't end up needing the tool to open it. Maybe I missed something but either way it is a great cache and worthy of another favorite from me. I also grabbed a geocoin as well that I will be able to help move along. TFTC! #1032
Took us a wee while to find a way to get to GZ. Once arrived we found the cache without any problems. Nice hide !! Thanks Cats&Dragons
not as quiet here as I thought it would be but after the muggles left the area I was able to find the right way in, didn't need a tool but that was ok, I was going to phone home but it wouldn't let me ring long distance from here, tftc
Managed to find our way to the cache (with a little bit of effort) and soon located the cache container. It was able to be accessed without the use of special tool so not sure if it had been forced at some stage. Great cache though and soon made our way back to the car. Thanks for the fun
Thanks to steed and peel for telling me about this cache after trying to find the track to it we made a quick find and had the right tool thanks CandD.mosquito haven here...
A memorable cache for 900th and deserves a FAV. Sat in vehicle waiting for squall to pass then went in prepared to the hilt. . Cheers CnD for another neat cache.
830 Thought I must have had a wrong number. Took some time to get an open line but eventually able to sign the log. There was a key to my success.
Back today after rush visit yesterday. A bit more time to navigate my way to GZ, which was off the hook. Thought of making a trunk call joke, but realised nobody today would know what I was on about. A fav. Tftc.

2/2 & downhill?
Our gps has been out all of this trip and we are assuming this is the case here too but we couldn't find the logical spot.
("\(0o0)/") No luck today, we'll have to have another crack at it next time.

What a beauty cache!! It's a classic - took a little bit to find it though... TFTC
One of a few we found on the afternoon of Boxing Day. Took a while to figure out how to get to this one. There does seem to be some bush bashing involved. Worth it in the end, nifty cache. Definitely need a screwdriver! Fortunately we had one in our kit. #658. TFTC.
Found it easy enough. Didn't have the right tools on hand to get into it though. Probably should let people know to bring a screw driver with them
Found the cache name to be more helpful than the hint. Had to re-call with tools though. Good cache. Like it.
Found GZ and cache but didn't have correct tool as the tools I had didn't have enough torque ability. Came back later in the day with tool and soon added a .

I can confirm that the cache is in great order and ready for the next cacher

In Hamilton today for the hot air balloons, unfortunately it was too windy for lift-off so we did some caching instead. Our main aim for the day was to find several puzzles we'd solved over the last few months, however when Mrs nzkites spotted this one on the map she was intrigued and added it to the 'must-do' list.
We found a place to park the car and wandered down the metalled path. The Garmin seemed to indicate GZ was in the midst of the trees back up the hill, but rather than bush-bash we looked for another path to follow. After some very steep bits we came out of the trees and into the back of an industrial area - Mr nzkites thought it best to leave quickly before we were told off for being on private property!! We ended up back where we had started, and no closer to finding the cache and solving the mystery!
It seems strange that despite having 23 fav points, this hadn't been found since January. Assuming it's still there, we look forward to having another go when we're next in Hamilton.

Called in with n&g ratbag and had a great time here. Another favourite for us in Hamilton, many of our most enjoyed caches are here - clearly a very creative area We had the company of a little fantail who was pleased to see us leave. Picked up the honeymoon and cheeky monkey tbs. This cache certainly was worth doing as something special on Christmas Day. A favourite point from us and tftc.
Wow. Searching for a cache to dump a tb and did this one... Bravo. I went the long way around though it wasn't required. Take the correct path! Anyway, found it after returning to the car to swap my safety jandals for running shoes. Reread logs and BINGO! I picked up the cache and had a listen... Not sure what I expected! Hah! Oops, didn't have the correct tool on me, but there was one in my car luckily! Bingo. Dropped off one and took the Delorean.
Anyways, TFTC and a favourite to you.

TFTC. 2nd attempt as needed the right tools for this cache. One of the best caches I've seen.

Grabbed a couple TBs that I noticed hadn't been to the South Island before my flight to Chch today
Found with renelm and Difool, logged as RAD to save log space, time and trees.
I am not much of a logwriter, so see renelms, and possibly Difools, log for details.
TFTC!

Hah good one! Weird that it took us a bit to actually see it
The cache was crawling with ants so we answered the call quickly and got out of there. It gets a point though.

Loved it but like others couldn't open. Ran out of time to investigate further. T4TC.
Amazing! My GPS was playing up (maybe as it was pouring with rain) but I managed to follow other peoples tracks to locate it. I also had the right tool (luckily). Such a clever cache.
Found cache easily but had to go back to car as we had the wrong type of tool. Dropped travel bug Jandel around the world and pick a up another travel bug to take on a road trip to Rotorua .
Down in the Waikato for the weekend catching up on some unfound caches. Next on the list as we make our way through Hamilton, great theme for this cache and luckily we had the TOTT handy, lots of fun and a favourite for us TFTC.
Called by tonight to ensure that all was ok with the cache.
IT IS, and is already to go
Happy Hunting, dropped in a couple of TB's

Located the cache a week or two a go to establish what tool was needed and scoped out the best way to GZ. Today I bought the necessary tool and the whole family to enjoy this unique cache. The kids really liked it and my wife was glad I had waited so she could see it as well. I grabbed the TB mentioned in a previous log. A big thank you to Cats&Dragons for another memorable caching adventure.
Great cache, despite the previous cachers stories we arrived at GZ without the appropriate tool and as we had gone right round in circles to get to the cache before retracing our steps and going in from the top (not where we had parked) didn't feel like walking back to the car. In all honesty thought I had the right tool but the model I had was not of an appropriate size. Searched my trusty bag and found a tool of sorts which we were able to use to do the job. A fun cache and has a favourite point from me. TFTC

Enjoyed watching panda22 try to get to the log A great cache and thank you for putting it there. TFTC
After walking around the wrong way and parking in the wrong place we got it in the end and then we had the problem of getting the log but female ingenuity got us there in the end. TFT fun.
Please can the next cacher or CO confirm if Lucinda ladybird is in the cache - dropped off on 19th April but none of the visitors to the cache since have picked her up or mentioned that she is not there. Thank you.
Took quite a steep route into the cache and feet ended up shooting straight out from under me and I splatted on my back - a classic cartoon banana skin skit! A bit winded and muddy but no harm done. Didn't have the right tool so came back latter with a friend's son who was keen to find out what geocaching was all about.
Very cool cache. Well worth a favourite point.
Many thanks

First day of the school holidays. Set myself a goal to make the hunt more interesting. Didn't count on heavy rain though... Left Rotorua in rain. Once over the Mamakus, the sun came out and looked very promising.
Rates as the cache of the day... and a long-winded story:
Couldn't understand where the gps wanted us to go, so wandered around trying to get a lock on ground zone. Eventually spotted a pathway, so took it. Came out in a small clearing and followed the gps signal. Found it... an interesting hide too.
We quickly noted that a tool was needed. By now, it was beginning to rain. I sent brother up to find a tool while I looked for something handy. Neither of us had any luck. We decided to move on, a little dejected. We stopped in at the second hand shop down the road. Bought a tool and some rain coats. Returned to the cache and made a quick extraction. Left a Tb.
Couldn't find s piece of the cache container. Returned to the car to find brother had it in his pocket... Back I go again. Got soaking wet doing this, but enjoyed the challenge. TFTC.

This one formed part of a series of 4 did not finds in a row!
Actually found it - but couldn't extract it as we did not have the right tool!
Very demoralising!

Loved it!!!! Clambered down and was thinking - now where is that little thing? Did a quick scan around and saw it straight away a little distance away - really brought a smile to my face - didn't quite have the right tool but I was able to improvise with another. Certainly a fav for me TFTC
Took a while, so had to widen the search and then spotted something... Nicely done...TFTC
Spied this cache a week ago, and found it by doing a wide area search. Did not have the correct tool on us at that time, so returned today, making this a circuit training walk. Bingo, right tool, even if a little large.
Butterfly had a bit of trouble getting secure footholds going up on the sandy hill, slipping on the leaf litter due to tiny feet, so the Nut had to anchor her several times.
Uplifted the TB for more adventures.

Nice fun cache. Had required tool in the car so back and located the container. SL TFTC
We found this one a few weeks back, but didn't have a tool. Back today to do the paperwork and to drop a TB. Great! A favourite from us.
The Pesky yellow lines on the road meant I had to park a wee way down the road, then having come straight from work my footwear was not the best for approaching the GZ...however soon located what I was after...but had to clamber back up and down the road to find a suitable tool - didn't quite have the right one but improvised. Having received Mr Geckoh's SOS for new batteries for the GPS we headed off to Narrows Landing to do the exchange. Once this was handled it was on to this cache. The GPS had us circling around for a couple of minutes before Miss Geckoh spotted an interesting item. A quick trip back to the well stocked van and the cache was soon in hand. A very clever little cache and well worthy of a fav point. TFTC

Birthday today so needed a cache to celebrate and this was a goodie. Came equipped with well stocked cache tool bag and no problems retrieving log.

Finally stopped by to complete the formalities on this one. Trying to teach the geodog the cache smell so she can sniff them out for me haha
We happened to have the right tool (due to a misadventure with a Telecom hatch in New Plymouth - its a long story) so we were ready when Mrs P yelled up to Mr P to come and help open the cache... another favourite from us. t4tc
10258… Quickly dialled up a find, an innovative cache hide and worthy of a favourite from us. TFTC.
3.10pm. Plenty of room to park but all forbidden by yellow lines!! Soon found the right place and was able to improvise with the wrong tool I had .
A favourite point for this one.
Thank you. David and Peter.

Wow. Another fantastic cache deserving of more than one fave point. Took the wrong tool and had to return to the car. Great great cache. Very crafty. Thanks very much Cats&Dragons
I made this way harder than It should have been, followed the path right around, bush bashed up the hill and was making my way back and I stumbled across the cache, bugger I had forgotten the tool, back to get tool, return to cache extract log, reach in to my pocket for the pen I brought with me....gone, return to car for 2nd time for another pen. Managed to sign the log, but would you beleive It, I lost the 2nd pen somewhere between the cache and the car.
After a long annoying day at work, what could be better than a walk with geomutt to find the latest C&D cache?? Brought a swag of tools but still had a moment of panic when I got to GZ that I hadn't thought to include a ladder Thankfully, my tool kit was perfect & the log was quickly signed. A fav from me, loved it!
Dog check. Assortment of tools check. GPS check.
Walked to GZ, found cache, used tool that was a perfect fit, got log and went to grab my trusty pen..... uh oh.....
Will have to pop back later on and sign it properly.

It took a while to find the cache. Ach yeah who is looking there?!
I was so enthusiastic and try to use it immediately to tell my friend about this. Unfortunately it didn't work and I couldn't tell the story to her. Only left over to dismantle it and see why it wasn't working.
Thanks for this great cache

Love it! Another awesome C&D cache. Was able to use my new tool I got for Christmas. Shame kids weren't with me - they would have loved it.
Found an easy direct route to the cache. Fantastic cache container, I was wondering if it'll be something like this. Thought long and hard on how to open the cache, and ending up trying to go down the wrong route. If anyone saw me they would of thought I was a complete idoit.
Had another close look and came up with the only possible solution, tried to phone a friend to double check I was right as I had no tool that'll work on me. As I got no answer from my friend decided to go it alone, and raid the cache mobile to see if I had anything that'll work, so I didn't have to go all the way home. Came up with a couple of things that might work, but a little more digging and I had the required tool in hand. Cache was in hand not to long after.
Another great cache C&D.
Left GC.

Thank goodness for Sky Movies 2.
We were at home watching Hugo when the email came through about a new cache. I looked across at my wife and she simple said... "But ill miss the end of the movie"
"No you wont honey, they repeat it on Sky Movies 2"
That was all the convincing she needed. We were off. I always think to myself who else might be trying to get the FTF and today I was pretty sure id be the only one. Eventually pulled up at GZ and yep.. im the only car.
I grabbed out all the stuff that I use when caching and headed off towards GZ. Well it was towards GZ for a little while. Had to turn back and try and find a better way in. After smashing my way half blind through flax I eventually spotted the cache.
Loved it.
But opening it proved to be a little harder. Wasn't sure exactly what to do and while trying to get to the log I head another cacher turn up. Quickly turned the light to red so that I didn't stand out and kept on searching. It took a while but eventually worked out what to do and released the log. Always good to get a FTF even if it is a join one. Thanks for another great cache.
