Found it on the opposite side to what I was expecting. What a great walk and the zipline is fantastic fun. Tftc
We did the Tree Tops Walk last time that we were here, about 5 years ago, so we just had a really good lunc to make up for no dinner the night before.Easy find on the way out but I did not have a pen (not sure why, I usually have 2 in my caching pack) but eventually signed the lofg and we set off to ride back to Hokitika.TNLN. TFTC.
Yaahoo another smilies. Getting to my 700 goal then onwards. Neat place, easy hide. Thanks
Camped here last night, but left getting the cache until this morning. Forgot about then until we got to the tarmac road. Back we go. A tricky little find negotiating the tangle of morning wet grass, but got the right rock in the end. Thanks for placing
Auf dem Baumwipfelpfad waren wir vorhin. Deshalb mchten wir und hier eintragen. Wir schaffen es trotz stechenden Insekten und Brombeerdornen.Merci
We did the tree top wander and grabbed this one on the way out. Cheers and the last for the weekend.
First visit back to the SI since early 2020 and doing a road trip loop of the northern parts of the island. Our main stops are Kaikoura, Nelson, Westport and Greymouth with stops along the way to find some caches. Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining their caches for our enjoyment.
did a short stop before driving to our camping place at this nice lake and found the cache.TFTC
Quick find. Definitely a high muggle zone on this long labour weekend but I made quick work of it! It is on private side of fence though. Logbook has seen better days, I added a second ziplock as it was a bit damp and slightly coming apart. Still able to sign though!TFTC
After tour around the forest, I made a tour to this cache and ups helped a lot! Thanks for this UPS,bahaMAfive
Continuing our West Coast trip, stopped here for a walk through the tree canopy. TFTC
On a winter Roadie around the South Island, picking up the occasional cache along the way.
Staying overnight nearby.

Out here tour bus driving with Americans on board, so why not collect a cache while waiting - TFTC
G'day from Australia!!!
Stumble Trip had been in NZ for the past 6mths, working on the Milford Track. Stumble's Mate flew in to meet up with her and we spent the next 2wks traveling the beautiful South Island in a camper. Whilst the weather wasn't favourable for the first week, we had an awesome time and travelled some 3,200+kms, seeing some beautiful sites and staying in just as beautiful campsite along the way.
Thanks to all the CO. Unless otherwise stated, all caches were found in good condition.

I have been cycling the Westcoast Wilderness Trail while hubby is following me in the Caravan. Today was day 3 - from Hokitika to Ross... a bit shorter than yesterdays 70km.
We wandered around Ross for a bit grabbing an Adventure lab and its bonus and another couple of random caches while reading alot of old history...quite an interesting place.
Then it was off to check out the Tree Tops walk... was good - but views were not as great as I expected - there are so many places on the Westcoast that have fantastic views... and being a Geocacher takes you to some amazing places.
Grabbed this cache on the way out - TFTC kanemegan

Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches.

Nice fine day until I decided to go get this cache. Staying overnight at the Treetop Walk. We were watching a family of 4 attempting the Zip Line. Dad and daughter went first then Mum and the 2nd daughter was up. 2nd daughter decided NO WAY. Finally after about 2 hours it was all go. SUCCESS. Family of 4 ALL conquered the Zip Line
Cheers, Cympull.

Had a bite to eat and did the walk before a quick stop here to make the find, cache all in good order, thanks for the placement.
Another previous DNF ticked off. Not sure why I missed it previously. Must have been fixated on looking at GL. Wasn't impressed with the cafe. Long waits for country (awful weak) coffee. TFTC
We went to tree tops today and noticed this on the way out. It would be rude not to collect it on the way. Thanks for the placement
Found on our West Coast road trip. Looking forward to the tree top walk. TFTC!
On a bike ride from Hokitika to the Tree Tops today. Allowed to grab this as cycling with noncachers. While they were finishing there coffee I was able to make the grab. Thanks for the cache.
Day 1 of 4 on the Wilderness cycle trail. Quick park and grab here on our way to the Tree Tops. Can definitely recommend stopping to check this place out and the cafe too. TFTC

I searched for this last week with no luck knowing I was coming back this week and could try again. This time I read the comments to find I was searching on the wrong side of the fence. Found quickly today. Enjoyed the walk. TFTC
Enjoyed a great wander around the tree tops before collecting the smiley on our way out. TFTC
Found it on way out after a nice walk, thanks.
Definitely on the private side of the fence line though

Our hiking plans were rained out again so mentioned to SJT_NZ that we head back down south and take in a couple of the local tourist attractions, very few people around and thoroughly enjoyed the wander around the tree tops. Grabbed this on the way back out, a quick find and all in good order. Thanks kanemegan for the cache.
Tregearp and I had a couple of nights in the region to completed a couple of walks that we'd previously attempted, but heavy rains had meant the rivers were flooded. So after two failed attempts we had to laugh when we'd had heavy rain over night and it had set in steady in the morning. Nothing for it but a couple of local tourist attractions and some caching. A quick find with all in good order. Thanks kanemegan for the cache.
Had a really interesting tree top walk then lunch - but could not find the cache despite finding some suitable locations.
Thanks to an early morning visit I had all the time in the world - still, I failed to locate the cache in spite of a lengthy search...
Found with NZDi. We are heading to the Wet Coast on a trip to help support the Hokitika and Franz Josef post-Covid lockdown tourism industry. The package includes a nights accommodation in Hokitika and Franz Josef, entry to the West Coast Tree Top Walk and the Franz Josef Wildlife Centre as well as a helicopter flight over the Franz Josef Glacier all for $299 per person. We had two glitches on our trip, the first was when we were turned back at O'Sullivans bridge due to a slip at Lyell. The second was going into Level 4 lockdown at midnight tonight cutting our trip short. The slip at Lyell wasn't much of a drama, as we detoured through Springs Junction causing a 30 minute addition to our travelling time.
Our main caching target for this trip was to gather enough metres to climb Puncak Jaya in the GCHQ Reach the Peak Challenge.
We had intended to do the Tree Top Walk tomorrow, but as the weather had improved by the time we got to Hokitika, we decided to do it today to give us more time tomorrow to do other things. We didn't realise how fortunate this decision was as if we had waited until tomorrow, we wouldn't have been able to do it. We grabbed this cache on the way out after having done the walk.

Found super quick after a great walk around the treetops. Photo attached as proof it is still there.
You would need to climb over the gate if you are here after hours. TFTC!

BaldEd and I had planned to ride part of the Wilderness Trail through the bush near Lake Mahinapua.
earlier we had decided to come to the cafe near this one for a morning cuppa but as time was moving on it was time for lunch.
Cheers for the cache.

Tufty and I decided to cyclocache along that part of the West Coast Wilderness Trail between the Hokitika River Bridge and Tree Tops.
At last we have arrived at Tree Tops. Initially we fixated on the wrong rock when we should have looked where the 'needle' was pointing.[B)] It must have been due to the lack of food - we had been on our bikes for 3.5 hours. Time to rectify that at the nearby cafe. Thanks for the placement kanemegan.

Day 15 of our Sth Island (substitute for Seattle) trip. Today it's Franz Josef/Greymouth. Another fantastic weather day. Had the tree walk on our to do list when we left home. Enjoyed the walk and was pleased to see there was a cache too. Thanks.

A much needed, much wanted, and probably much deserved family break away for an extended weekend with hubby + our daughter.
Main purpose of trip was to relax + see some sights, but of course managed to find a few caches in the mix of that too!
TFTC!
Sorry excuse all the generic logs, but I'm so behind in logging that other wise I'll never catch up !!

We went out for my Birthday to the cafe and had to do some caches. Happy to find this one, will admit not the first hint we saw. Have left a trackable here. Thanks for the cache kanemegan.
Until today, we had not seen rain since leaving Singapore 4 weeks ago! After sunshine throughout North Island, Picton and Christchurch, our luck finally ran out. We were lucky however that we only experienced a light drizzle for our treetop walk, and here; as by the time we reached Franz Josef the conditions deteriorated to Torrential rain. .
A nice quick find here at GZ was definitely a bright moment of our day! SL. TFTC.
