Staying in Mt Gambier, we decided to take a trip to Penola. This cache was found in the second place I looked. The roses are beautiful here.
I feel sorry for the previous cached - it's definitely there! But it can trick a new catcher when you haven't seen this container much A lovely park where we spent some time reading the plaques
Yeeha! The Wild West is calling and Snips and Co and I are traversing along the Southern and Western Victorian borders.Penola is a hidden gem and lovely to see how they commemorate the people from their town in a beautiful manner.thanks for sharing this spot.
Gee this is a pretty little town. Just beautiful - this one led us around the back blocks to where the real housewives of Penola live. I bet they take their kids to this park. Love it. Thanks ravelling Sister
Lovely to find a Mary Mac cache where it all began. Found with Nibletricecakes, KrispyStrips and k8tybee on our Road to Esperance trip. TFTC.
Find # 15922Been a while since I've been out solo for a long trip. But things change over time. And I'm living the past.So with some time off work, I've jumped the border wall to chase down some long trails in South Aussie... don't know how many I'll get. But I've got quite a few downloaded. I do have a short hit list ( of 2) caches to help with a challenge. All others are just for the Adventure and countryside views. Armed with all the necessary TOTT from tweezers and magnet grab to 6m ladder and 8m fishing pole. I believe I'm prepared for all that I'll come across. (Just had to leave the Kayak at home )Day 7. Naracoorte to HomeA day to take in the sites of the Naracoorte area before jumping back over the border. To head for home. Grabbing the odd cache along the way. TFTC Travelling Sister
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA. This is our kind of caching - back country roads. Windy arvo and hardy any traffic. Thanks for the hideLNCU
Travelling with richlink as part of our Caravan Geocaching Trip. It's moving day today, a big move... Narracoorte to Penola. Touring the area or using geocaching as our guide. Thanks for the hide. LNCU.
Staying in Penola for a couple of nights. Doing one of the trails today then move over to Millicent to do the others
07:21Final day on the road for us, heading homeward, after attending the Great Leap Forward Mega in Adelaide. What a great time, filled with finds, food, friendship and fun. Nice to add another Mary Mac cache to our collection! Thanks to Travelling Sister for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.36650
Road tripping from Queensland to Adelaide for theLeap Day Mega, caching all the way and trying to fulfil various challenges. This cache-which challenge/why? LGAleg stretch Heading west to Adelaide with a brief stop here and there and this was one of them. Quick find today and all good.TFTC
Greetings from Seattle! I am lucky enough to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide with my fellow Lackey and best geo-buddy giacaches, and we hit the road to take the scenic route to get there. Today we'll finally be arriving in Adelaide, heading north from Warrnambool. The goals were to get as many LGAs as we could and see how many fun spots we could find along the way. This was a nice quick grab - found the cache and a ton of ants! I signed in with our sticker (discover it if you see it!) Thanks for adding to this great adventure down under!
Greetings from Seattle! I'm down under for the first time with jtcoffee to attend the Great Leap Forward in Adelaide. While here, we're naturally trying to pack in as many "bonus" activities as possible, including (but not limited to) the following: Log our find finds in the southern hemisphere Find Australia's oldest, [GC3E](https://coord.info/GC3E) Lane Cove & the world's **First** Earthcache, [GCHFT2](https://coord.info/GCHFT2) Experience Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney Drive the Great Ocean Road Tackle a challenge cache requiring 31 Earthcaches, and 31 Virtuals in 31 days ([GC32TBZ](https://coord.info/GC32TBZ) and [GC32TC2](https://coord.info/GC32TC2)) Visit the Lord of the Rings filming locations in New Zealand Today, we are caching our way from Warrnambool to Adelaide. We weren't planning on going after LGAs but after arriving and seeing map lines - of course, we started to pay attention - classic us Thanks for keeping this one in play and thus contributing to our amazing adventure in Oz!
TFTC! 1 January 2024 3:41:05pm 7026Happy new Year! Nice park. Stopped to cook some lunch in the shade then made a quick find.
Beautiful park, log almost full. A celebration of an amazing woman! Thanks for the cache
Stopped here to find a geocache and sit down for late lunch before heading off to Naracoorte. Lovely little town and nice garden! TFTC
off on a jaunt to the south east and enjoying its beautiful scenery and experiencestoday the weather is sunny and much warmer, so we decided to head back to Coonawarra and maybe finish the day at the Penola Show (im a sucker for fireworks)of course if i can get my muggle partner to stop for a cache i happily take the bonus!spotted by the muggle, given the amount of the recently laid bark chips, the hint was very helpful tftc Travelling Sisterand bringing me to this specific spot
SL at 10:25am. Daytrip out to Penola with bdiaw to cash in on the bottles and cache of course in the area before heading to Mt. Gambier. I have been to this park before but was not successful in finding the cache then. Today, not a problem at all. Go figure. It's hard to believe Mary MacKillop was made a saint 101 years after she passed.

Beaut little park. Checked a few places before finding the cache. TFTC travellin sisters.
I have been in Millicent for a second day after caches but as today was stormy and wet I venture up to Penola to get the Adventure Las there. As I have quite a few Mary Mackillop Caches and this was in the area I made the effort t find it. The cache was found within 60 seconds of leaving my car, Thank you for bringing me to this rather pleasant park.
First cache to visit once I arrived in town. What thought provoking park about the spirituality of Mary MacKillop.
Day 12 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today we were on the move from Millicent to Bordertown. fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out early to finish up the last of the caches in Millicent before heading for Naracoorte and then Bordertown. We signed as MAF or FAM to save room.
Our aim was to collect counties, oldies, AL’s and any interesting caches in-between. Once set up in Bordertown we headed out to the Little Desert. It was great driving around out there in no-man’s land. Certainly, a highlight.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.
Amazing to be standing where it all started!

Southern Autumn adventure Day 13. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 7. Today Fitzy_1965, MinnieK and I were leaving Millicent for Bordertown. Logs were signed F.A.M or similar as we first went for three tree caches we missed stopping at yesterday, before finally packing up at camp and driving via a string of towns and caches to Bordertown. Once set up there we headed back to Victoria to tackle the Little Desert puzzle caches that have been calling to us for a few years now. As the evening closed in we took a roundabout route back to town for some lab caches and a spot of sinner cooking.
Thanks for the cache Travelling Sister

After visiting the lakes around Mt Gambier this morning and lunch at the Coonawarra Winery it was time for some history here in Penola.
We did a drive round the town then made a quick stop here for photos. My muggle friend and I were very surprised that some folk in our tour group had never heard of Mary MacKillop. We thought she had been Australia wide news back in 2010. I guess some people just don't listen.
So while the others did the photography thing I hurried over for this cache. Thankfully it was a very easy find to an experienced caching eye.

Went around for the entire park, looking and listening and enjoying the history. Then thought I'd better go get what I came for. Took a moment and left the path for one brief moment to collect and return the prize. TYFTC SLTNLN
Staying in Penola for a couple of days and decided this was the day for caching , all in the town were found most fairly quick but one or two took a few minutes searching
