I was on my way home from Broken Hill from a motorcycle event and decided to try and find this cache. It's still there but in a very poor state, unfortunately I didn't have anything appropriate to replace the container or contents with. When I'm back that way I'll organise for something to be done. It gets a favorite from me because of the significance, tftc
Off on our holidays, traveling from Adelaide to Nullarbor, Broken Hill, Mildura and the Mallee Region.Chasing a few caches on the way, this was one of the caches we found.Taking a few TB's along the route and placing a Path Tag or two as we discover the Yellow Smiley Faces! The question is, did we find it worthy of a favourite point? We thank the CO for bringing us to this place in lovely Australia.TFTCTeam HoldenThe Cache is still there.
TFTC. This cache is in very poor condition with contents strewn everywhere. Needs a new container, the current container has pretty much disintegrated.
Log book out in the open, so just as well it was dry.

Found as we headed Westwood on our journey to Perth. Cache container is broken and needs replacement. TFTC
I found this fun cache as VikingNav and I drove from Broken Hill towards Adelaide today. Thanks for placing it to help break up our long road trip!
On our way toward Adelaide, with a side trip to find some virtual caches. We stopped for a few caches along the way to break up the drive. TFTC
Our first ever find kids thought it was great sad about Old Ted though..... Thankyou
Today we explored Cockburn and surrounds using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way with Roostaman and this was one of them. An easy find at GZ.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Another windy Spring day for a trip further west with Tassie Trekkers.
Not many muggles around today, and mostly good quick finds.
Thanks for the cache Cashar1966,

Our short trip to Broken Hill was based on stopping and finding this cache. Owned and placed by a work colleague of Miss B, it was one we could not miss. The cross was lying on the ground and the memorial was displaced. With equipment lying nearby we managed to semi secure the cross and re build the stone alter so it can at least be recognised from thd road. What a great idea , a fav from us and a TFTC
I read the story before finding this cache and felt distressed at the thought of Ted being burnt alive. I was expecting something completely different to the scene which presented upon my arrival. I still shed a tear for poor Ted though, I am a softy. His memorial cross lay down on the ground so I stood it back up and sat all of his friends around. After saying my farewells I headed to the letterbox and thought the cache could be missing, it wasn't. Log signed, tears dried, I headed back to the Landcruiser to continue our journey home to WA.
A favorite point for Ted - until we meet again.
thanks

Today it is finally a wet and rain day for us to see because while we were in Alice Springs for a week for the Red Centre Experience Mega and it was so hot and sunny weather without any rain. Anyway now we were on the road back to Broken Hill from Port Augusta, we stopped here and it was a sad story about Ted before dolphia found it. Thanks Cashar1966 for bringing us here.
Unfortunately this one was not a quick find for us today. We did find the burnt wood (and some matured road kill), but no cache. RIP Ted!

After lunch in broken Hill we crossed into south Australia and grabbed a small handful of caches before heading to Wilmington for the night. Handed out a few favourites between Broken Hill and Yunta.

Another reststop on the trip to the red centre event in alice springs. Thanks for the cache and for the adventure along the way. Found with team lewin. Teds grave was looking a little sad so we rearranged it so it was a bit better and re hammered in his cross to the ground.
Found with Mum as 'Jess & Caro'. She is now Carø and I now have my own geocaching profile so we are sorting my logs for caches we found together. TFTC!

Sad to hear Ted's story. I'm sure he would have had a good laugh if he knew someone place a nice little feminine hygiene product package in the cache. May he knows? Here on holidays in fascinating Australia with HennyGeo from Vancouver Island, Canada TFTC
Thanks for the cache & the history of this location – taken TB to move on - TFTC / TFTH / SL
tftc,
Today is day 60 of an adventure that will take me around Australia with a group of trackables. My caches visited can be tracked by checking out the Key Ring using the code TB4P4C.
Today was about miles to Broken Hill. Having left Peterborough we needed caches to add favorites. Completed this one on our way out this morning. After visiting the location of the home where Ted lived, we now need to do 10 more to give this a favorite. Left a trackable.
As a part of my contribution to helping make the "Easter 2017 Red Centre Experience" GC6825Z a great Event, I will be leaving a card in every cache that is large enough to take it. This card provides a number for a trackable so you can "Discover me". There is also the Web page address "red.ozmega.com.au".
Happy caching.

Beautiful country. Sad story. We drove towards Adelaide in fading light. Enclosed a photo taken not too far from GZ. No TBs in the cache, 5 TBs visited. TN, Left a butterfly, SL. Thanks.
Auf unserem Weg von Adelaide nach Broken Hill kurz angehalten das Grab von Ted besucht und diesen Cache geloggt.
Having read the sad story on approach we simply had to stop to bag this one. Another nice quick find for the day with Mr CDM261 as we continued to make our way East. Found on our trip from Perth (WA) to Cooranbong (NSW). TFTC.
Sad story TFTC and bringing us here, SL left the Reg the Ranger T.B. hope he dosen't play up to much.
This is such a sad place. It's good that there is a marker here for him. Left Naughty Bear TB to begin his journey. TFTC. RIP Ted.

Where was the outdoor lounge? Was it here ni the middle of nowhere? The sick muggles who did that to Ted will someday get their true punishment.
Thanks Cashar1966.

We are heading across to the Flinders Ranges on a 2 week sojourn. We don't intend to do a lot of caching but will try and pick up a few along the way.
After 3 nights at Arkoola we are now headed to Broken Hill via 250kms of dirt road and very few caches (or anything else really.) Back on the bitumen and there are a few quirky opportunities for caches along here.

Day fourteen of the short holiday with Bettyboo3747.
A day for travelling between Moonta and Broken Hill.
Lots of wind and graveyard multi's on the trip interstate.
We saw a bear there today. Not sure if it was ghost, so we didn't approach too closely. (we have been doing graveyard caches all day!)
We have seen a few strange sights along this road today.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 9483. Today Robmc and I left the Yorke Peninsula (sadly) and travelled to Broken Hill. We were accompanied by gale force winds at every caching stop but managed to find some very interesting multi's and a few traditionals to break up the trip. It must have worked because we arrived in BH at about 5.30pm.
I see the master of the caching log "IF" has been here not long before us. I went and visited Ted's gravesite while Rob fossicked elsewhere for the cache. I noticed the hiding place on my way back to the road. Who could be so uncaring as to destroy Ted? Some people have no respect.
Thanks Cashar1966

Every now and then on me travels around the world,
I am confronted by sights so awful,
so foreign to us 'lucky' Australians,
that I have to shed a tear
This is one such place [:o]
I'm sure at one stage in all our lives we knew Ted,
and took comfort from his ever present willingness to give a hug in a time of need.
Never selfish, never expecting a hug in return, Ted was always there !!
But here at the side of a lonely highway.
Somebody, some sad, lost soul, forgot what Ted stood for !!
To perpetrate such a heinous crime on an innocent being is beyond any childhood imaginings !!
Whomever did this to Ted shall surely rot in Hell !!
At least we all have this lonely, roadside shrine to remember Ted by.
For now, for ever !!
Wherever another childhood memory is forgotten and fed into the fireplace, or simply left to moulder in a tea chest along with youthful innocence !!
Ted will be there ... somewhere !!
To remind us all !!
God Speed Ted !!
Don't let them knock the stuffing out of you !!
