As I approached this one, I remembered the last time I was here and the frustration I experienced. I started to walk back to the car, but told myself to give it another go while you are here. I determined GZ from the app and systematically looked over every thing that could be magnetic.
After about 5 minutes, I heard someone walking above stop. I stuck my head out and saw an elderly Chinese lady standing further up. She looked worried about what I was up to. I apologised and said that I was looking for something. She nodded and smiled and said something in Chinese that I didn't understand, but the gesture she made with her hand indicated to me that she knew what I was looking for and exactly what size it was. She pointed to a section of the structure and I thanked her and she walked away. I sat under there for a minute looking carefully.
I found the cache, but when I did, I realised that the lady was not telling me the size and shape of the cache with her fingers, but the SIZE of the cache with the gap BETWEEN her fingers.
Thank you lovely Chinese lady. If I had not found it, I doubt I would have ever tried again. Thanx to you too Jords!

It took a few minutes to find. Especially with the amount of foot traffic. But done. Tftc.

I failed to find this one on a previous occasion, bit couldn't resist the temptation to come back today for another go. After about 10 minutes of systematic searching and getting covered with spider webs, I just happened to look in the right direction from the right angle. Finally there it is! What a relief.

Third time lucky I'd searched for this before, but on both occasions ran out of time. I took today off due to a long dental appointment, and some caching was needed to recover. I approached from above this time, and started systematically searching, in a worringly-similar way to the previous attempts. This time something in a previous log gave me a more precise spot to look, and this allowed me to make the find. Phew. TNLNSL, TFTC

A bit of a struggle around GZ here, as I’m not too good with this particular caching situation, nevertheless the cache was found after much annoyance, and the signing and return duties commenced. Thanks for the cache!
Holy heck this was a challenge for me. As soon as I walked up to the GZ I knew what type of cache it would be, but that didn't stop it from taking 20 minutes of hard core searching

After a CITO event in Putney I roamed around Ryde for a few more caches.
I recall I tried to find this cache a long time ago. Without result. So today a second attempt and it again was very difficult. But then I checked some past logs and it became more clear! Hoorah for smartphones with Internet.
Thanks for the cache JordsAU.

TFTC , spend a considerable time here, decided to give in and over and look for Macquarie trial #2. On my way back I decide to give it 5 more minutes, low and behold it only took me one minute
Today we headed back over to North Ryde and Denistone for some more short walk and "park & grab" caches. And amazingly we ended up making the exact same number of finds (17), and also the exact same number of DNF's (4), as yesterday. This was the 16th of 17 finds for the day.
Parked the geomobile on Parklands Road, then crossed over the bridge and followed the pathways to GZ. Searched for a while and was about to give up and add it to our DNF list for today, but then looked down and spotted it laying in the dirt. Signed the log and placed it where we think it might have come from, but will send photos of it's placement to the CO for confirmation or relocation. TFTC JordsAU.

Well, we certainly made friends with a lot of the hairy neighbours on this search. Pretty close to giving up and moving on to the next one down the path, when - bingo. TFTC Signed log, and now off to search for #600.
After logging three chaches today I tried this one because now it should be on „right“ place and therefore easy to find. There are some good places for a magnetic and I thought I checked them all. Obviously I did not - today 3,5 points difficulty was to much for me.
Preformed maintenance by putting back to its original hiding spot. Please help avoid cache creep by noting exactly as you find it and replace as such
Out today with Brewmaker finding some caches around Macquarie Park, East Ryde, and Lane Cove North.
We parked the car nearby and then it was just a short walk to gz. Read the hint and soon saw a likely hiding place. That was the easy part. We searched for about 30 minutes, looking in every possible hiding spot, but with no luck. Knowing the CO we contacted him and he graciously rode over to help in the search. Just before he arrived, Brewmaker found the cache - about 5m away! Seems it had been moved from its original hiding spot, making it much harder to locate. The CO placed it back where it was meant to be, so it will be much easier for the next finder. Then it was back to the car and onto the next one. TFTC Jords

Cache creep definitely had us on the wrong level. With some guidance from CO, we still had trouble. Just as he was about to arrive, I spied it in a place that I'm sure we checked before - well, maybe not! So we put it back exactly where CO told us to. TFTC and thanks for the help.
This is my closest unfound cache and it has eluded me twice now. My first time I spent ages searching every nook and cranny, and my second time was disrupting by a constant stream of muggles.
I returned here with Alephroom equipped with high-vis vest to inspect the 'structural integrity' of the walkway. We split up and searched different areas and it wasn't long before Alephroom had CIH. So so glad to get this one finally done.

Located at 6:25pm. Success! Finally have located this one with a very relieved MouldySalsa who is expunging a long-term dnf. We were forward thinking with bringing hi-vis vests so to look nonchalant in our searchingly and it proved very helpful and successful. Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
Spent about 30 minutes here with spiders, poking with sticks and getting down on our hands and knees, looking through the logs for clues. Alas, this one eluded us but we’ll be back. We tried everything!

I have to admit I've had a quick look for this previously but the constant stream of muggles led me to abandon. Picked this one out for my daily find today and surprised myself with a super quick find - thanks largely to one of the previous log entries. Not quite what I was expecting and that sometimes makes you blind.

On my way home after clear out a big chunk of caches in this area.
Searching this area was proving difficult with the constant Muggle traffic, especially at this time of day. People, heading home, others going for walks with or without dogs.
Considering the structure I had a fair idea of what type of hide this might be. I searched over the area at least twice and I'd spent way too long looking and light was going to start fading so I resorted to contacting a previous finder for a hint at least to narrow down an area.
Armed with a hint I continued my search.
OMG!! REALLY!! I found the cache in an area I thought I had checked over thoroughly. The cache was a different colour to what I was expecting.
The log was full, so I created a supplementary log to fit in along with the existing one.
Find: 472
24th of 24 finds for today
2 DNFs for today

OCW Rodney 1210. Walking up to GZ, we thougt the kids might be a problem on the field. Luckily, at GZ, we were out of site. Looking at the cache and then the opposite side, I was weighing up whether it was the cache or not. It was guarded by a spider web so I asked Rodney to check and sure enough, he had the CIH. Signed the log and replaced the cache just as some muggles approached. Log is full. TFTC!
OCW Coastblue. Spotted likely GZ as we approached and hypothesised about where the cache would be. Turns out we were right for a quick find. Cache# 298 TFTC
TFTC! We thought we were stumped but continued looking! So happy to have a success for our 1st cache today
Spent a while looking but no joy. Too clever for us and as time was against us we passed. Maybe next time.
On this wet day I trawled Denistone for 21 finds and a couple of DNFs. This well and truly filled a calendar vacancy.
By this time I was quite weary and with another shower beginning I might not have put in the effort required. I will leave this for another dat.

Tftc, this one has defeated me a few times but armed with some info from a recent finder I returned early this morning to make it into a smiley.
Some systematic searching helped me find the cache.

Found after a 20min search. Love the cache and how well it fitted in. TFTC JordsAU
Well that was a waste of time. My app hadn't updated that 1 and 3 were long gone and then I spent nearly an hour on a basically no hint nano. Very unsatisfying morning.
This was a hard find. Been here twice before but finally found it. Really small and well disguised.
Hunted around between muggles for 15 minutes to no avail. Might need to MACO - Message A Cache Owner!
A systematic search bought up the cache pretty quickly. Squeezed my sig on the full log between muggles. TFTC JordsAU.
Found on the Friday afternoon run home after a long day at work. Light rain falling but no jogging muggles around GZ to upset my search. Log's full. Many thanks JordsAU
It's cache's like these that make me question my sanity.
In my deep concentration looking for this blasted thing, I didn't notice a jogger approach who asked if I was ok. I had to pretend I had dropped something small down here and was looking for it. After I found the cache, I took it aside to sign since there was something crawling up my leg, and then had to wait quite a while for the same jogger to run up and down the stairway several times to return it. I think this cache was just as tiring as watching her almost push herself to passing out. Thanks again, Jords.
Oh yeah, the log is most definitely full. After the struggle of finding this and then getting the log out, I'd be damned if I didn't sign it. I found an empty spot somewhere along the sheet.

=( after much neck craning and hair standing spider butts, decided to admit defeat.
Today I had planned to drive up to Sydney in preparation for the Lane Cove 15th year anniversary of Australia's first cache. I had booked a hotel room in Macquarie so I had the day to myself to take my time knocking off a couple caches.
After checking into the hotel, I decided to go for a drive and see if I could score some local caches before settling in for the night. Searched for this one for about 20 minutes before conceding to defeat. Sigh, maybe next time. Thanks anyways JordsAU

Made my way here first with plans to knock off the first three ECR hides. iPhone didn't help me here, so started up the top and worked down. Must say that I haven't seen one of these colour camoed in this fashion. A 5min search with the torch came away with the goods. I signed above Bob Ferguson as I couldn't see any room left in the log roll. Needs the CO to change the scroll, thanks JordsAU
We spend about half an hour trying to hide ourselves from the Muggles, searched everywhere we could find, no luck
Last time I looked forth is I gave up. As one of the loosest unfound caches to home I gave it another go. A very quiet (and hot and humid) afternoon gave the opportunity for a thorough search. Found the obvious thing in one of the hundreds of possible locations. SL TFTC
Difficulty makes sense
This took so long! Finally spotted it and found an empty spot in the logbook. Logbook check wouldn't kill.

#1299 (3 of 4 today)
After a weekend of being mostly stuck indoors, today I was free to wander amidst nature - and grab a few caches on my travels.
And I had a milestone coming up, so intended to celebrate that by completing the All Puzzled Up series.
So after a pleasant lunch with other recent retirees from work, I set out to Lane Cove West...
* * * END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION * * *
After my first two finds and a DNF I had to attend other duties. Swapping the Gatherer Hade's Family Chariot for The Hademobile, I was free to continue the day's caching.
The DNF had thrown off my plans to get cache 1300 today, but then I realised that I still had two of the Eastwood County Road caches to find.
I'd delayed trying this a while ago when disabled, and just hadn't come back to it, probably as I had noted the difficulty many have had finding it.
So I parked nearby and walked to GZ. Oh dear. Noted where the iPhone was pointing and started there, also taking into account the odd comment in previous found logs. Took me all of five minutes before I spied something... CIH.
Just the one in this series left - and I'l have completed them in reverse order (10 to 1).
But now I have a milestone to grab.

My second attempt here came up fruitless again! I spent probably half an hour down on my knees, my back, getting filthy, walking around in circles searching wherever I could possibly think of but it just didn't jump out at me. I will be back!
On my way to find Eastwood county road 3 I thought I would check this one out to see if it was still there. It has been moved five inches away from where I found it to a less visible spot. I can confirm that the cache IS still there. Just get down low and look up. Happy Caching!
Searched everywhere. No Find. Miner bird swooped a few times. Had to leave because of that.
Had hints from the cache owner and still couldn't find it, although to be fair was in a rush to get somewhere else so didn't have as thorough search as I would've liked!
I reckon someone has moved it. I tore this place apart. Someone who has found it and is local please confirm it's it here.
Second time here for this cache determined to find it this time. A real pain in the neck, this one - literally! Don't know why I didn't spot it before but worth the difficulty rating! Glad to conquer the little bugger!
Been meaning to ride up this creek, might come back tomorrow as well.

Checked on it today and saw that it was gone. Getting dark so perhaps it fell but I didn't see it
Got a pretty sore neck and no cache to make up for it. Maybe it's gone? I'll be back as soon as someone else logs a find
Rating is too high. It took me 5 seconds to find it. Had 1 star caches that are more difficult. Anyway it is a nice area and you have a nice view on the sports ground. Weather was better than the last days. Thank you for bringing me here.
Greetings from Germany.
Greetings from Germany.
This is the second time I looked for this one. The first time I looked, I was in a group of three, yet didn't find it. However, this time, I rode there by myself on my unicycle, went under the stairs, rested my unicycle on a nearby rock, sat down next to it to get a pen out of my bag, looked up, and there it was. I don't know how I missed it the first time, but i found it so I'm happy.
Arrived at GZ and cursed to myself but it's a quick find if it takes you longer to sign and replace the cache than it does to have the cache in hand. Only the local groundskeeper for company this morning. TFTC.
