Found it; almost didn't go as gate was closed and locked with a sign on it, but on re-reading the instructions it said it was just a four minute walk over the gate so we figured it must be OK. We found the ***hint*** real easy but almost missed the cache. Really nicely tucked away. Well done. Note the gorse is getting a bit overgrown but you can see where others have gone in before.
We were about to head home after exploring this great park and noticed we had not only missed this cache but also not noticed the side road leading to this area.
What a perfect spot for flying model aircraft. There were just two people flying one today and they were making the most of having the airspace all to themselves.
An initial look at GZ revealed nothing but the cache was spotted following a closer look, nicely tucked away.
Very pleased to get this one today as there is some gorse threatening to take over the area which could make access trickier and trickier as time goes on.
No problems today though.

Used to bring our kids here for mountain biking many moons ago. Now we are here with our new dog Hagrid.
A nice quick easy find, sign and flee.

Day 6 of our family holiday and after laval spent literally hours on the adrenaline forest we had just enough time to head over here.
Hopped the fence and raced up the road for a nice quick find.
Thanks for the cache.

Find number 7802. On a day trip with eyespyben and ABCDF4 to cache in both Rotorua and Tauranga. Passing here so decided to clear this park of unfound caches. This was the first. Cache nicely hidden. TB taken and given to eyespyben who will log. Thank you for the placement.
We were on the hunt for number 2. The modelers have a great set up with runways etc. So we parked up the car, grabbed pooch and went for a stroll. Mr walked pooch while Mrs and the not so wee one anymore stalked the cache. TFTC
This was number 3 for the day. There were a few people flying various Rc planes and gliders which was awesome to see on our way to gz. Thanks.
Awesome ride around buffalo girl to here, who brought the pen agh! Saved by the pencil in GC. Nice plane flying nearby.
Checked on cache today. There is a new gate in place, preventing cars driving onto the Buffalo Girl MTB & Hiking Trail. We have added a Parking Waypoint (near the entrance to the model aircraft club); and from there is is a short 4-minute walk up the Trail to the cache location.
Had fun mt biking with buzzy bb & my daughter. Quick find after bbb had no luck. Tftc
Down in Rotorua with AliGle for a few days and today went for a bit of an explore of TECT Park. This one took us longer than it really should have, it was tucked away well and we didn't look hard enough! TFTC!
Nice to find this one with Vistra given that the last time it was found was over a year ago. Had us a little stumped at first but found with a bit more effort from us.
Went here about 1pm on a Monday afternoon and the gate was locked, will have to try on a weekend
New Zealand entered Level 2 (Covid-19) on Thursday 15 May 2020, and it is now considered safe to resume geocaching in New Zealand. Wishing you all happy & safe geocaching.
Covid-19: have decided to disable our caches until it is safe to resume geocaching.
Nice straight forward find. Have run past here a few times but by this point I'm usually keen to get back to the van. Nice to be able to enjoy the walk for once!

Managed to drive almost to GZ. With one obvious place, it was a fairly quick find. TFTC
This was a nice stroll (and ride for wi2ard), after solving the multi). Interesting to see the model planes en route. It must’ve been a huge job doing all this planting. Great cache. Wizard made the find and done a swag swap. Tftc
Another visit to the TECT park... and another cache found. It really doesn't take that long from Rotorua after work... would be better in the summer when it doesn't get dark quite so quickly though. Great coordinates and a helpful hint meant it didn't take too long to find this cache... surprised it's not been found in over a year but it was an excellent condition. TFTC
The places you come across! None of these spots are marked on the maps, but cool to actually get here. I should have used satellite map to navigate, but it was an easy road to find by "following your nose". Cache was all good here. Poked our noses over to look at the "airfield" and not surprisingly no planes flying today.
It's great fun exploring this place and unbelievable what is hidden in the bush .....even found a well placed cache .....thanks Lionfish for that ....what a fantastic asset this place is for all those niche sports and thanks for bringing me here
Quite out of the way so not many visitors to this particular cache but it's all good. TFTC.
The roads used here weren't on my gps map so I just had to wing it. Once things turned to gravel I got worried but there was no need. Found a little spot to park and left the car going for the air con and made a quick find and in good condition. Another smiley at Tect Park. Thanks Lion Fish
No one flying planes around today.

We heard the aeroplanes flying around when we were doing the tunnel walk, unfortunately they had just packed up by the time we got there, nonetheless it was great to see more or the park, something for everyone here, thanks for the cache
# 9, Tect All Terrain Park done and dusted.
Thanks for bringing me to this park for a good poke around.
Cheers

Out today to take a second visit to the newly opened dog park that is nearby. I was with Mosh and TNXPro, who had with him his dog, Max.
We called by here and soon had the cache in hand thanks to the clue and obvious hiding location.
The rain had started to fall lightly out here (clear and sunny in town, go figure!) so there was no flying happening at the airfield.
TFTC!

No high flyers here today - but they've done a really good job with the turf so no wonder it's not open for general public. I did find this little container and was thinking of taking it down to an Op-shop? That was funny - cheers Lion Fish
We saw the model aeroplanes on our last visit here. This time there were none flying about so a little drive to find the cache. Thanks for all these caches in such a wonderful place
I had decided a few days ago that I would try and spend a few days in a town that I had spent a couple of years many decades ago. Nothing much has changed, there's still a big pond with a big hill next to it and a few mud pools letting off a bit of steam.
It is time to put the pond behind me and head towards the beach. Didn't quite get there as there was this All Terrain TECTpark that wasn't here when I was here. No planes around today.
Out: Trackable.
Cheers for the cache.

With Kiwijade having her day off work today we thought it would be nice to come out for a drive to the TECT Park and check it out and get my cache for the day, Am trying to limit myself to only getting one cache to leave some to keep my streak going so nearly have a week of caches out here. We really liked the look of the adrenaline forest will have to get a baby stitter and come try this some day. Was hoping to see some planes flying but no one out here today. Was able to drive within meters of the cache altho Jade was night liking the road for her car, some sighs and ohhh my poor car where had think next trip up here will be in mine lol. Thanks Lion Fish really enjoyed our trip out here today and will be out here again to get others. Have also put a TB in the cache hopefully it brings more people out to this awesome area
Day 2 in the park... Out to find a couple more in TECT park..nice simple one to start TFTC
Decided earlier in the week that a mission to clean up some caches between Rotorua and Tauranga. Also took a new Geocacher with me Sakura7, to show her the ropes and show her what geocaching is all about. A great day was had and with some fantastic locations visited, even if the weather was average to poor at best, still at least it wasn't cold. And as a bonus no DNF's thou it was close on a few.
Thanks to everyone for the placements.
Took the wrong turn off to this cache as I thought there was another entrance further up the road. Turns out I was wrong, but figured what I had done wrong pretty quickly. Quick find once at GZ, managed to get the car within 2m of it.

Sincere apologies for the very late logging and the cut and paste logs ... long story.
Had a awesome day out with CatsandDragons exploring areas between Rotorua and Tauranga on the back roads. Came across some very clever originial hides that we hadn't seen before.
Many thanks

Today was the first planned trip for the new year in the company of Zorgon to collect as many caches as we could between the north end of Lake Rotorua, to Pukehina and back to Te Puke.
We set off early from home and this was a great area to pull into. Have driven past often but never had the time to collect the caches.
What a great facility for the area and so much to do, well separated and maintained
thanks for the placement

This is a great time of year to go caching - well, almost nobody about, apart from a cyclist that popped up over the brow of the hill at the last moment. Thanks for this series of caches Lion Fish; really enjoyed it. Easy find, cache in good condition.
[green] Back in Rotorua for Christmas with the family. But before that I borrowed Mum's little shopping cart for a trip around the lake to clean up some of the green splodges that have appeared since I was last here. Mum's little shopping cart might be fine in town but it sure doesn't like the roads around here! Going up the hills at a mere 50km/h. Couldn't find how to take it out of overdrive.
None of the tracks around here have been added to the maps . If I had my bike I would be back here cycling the trails and plotting them out and adding them. And it doesn't help when these caches are outside my pocket query so they are not on my GPS. Luckily they are on my phone, but now I am outside coverage, so I only have the basics. Position, name, D/T, favourites, no description. But the GPS did show the road, so I parked on it closest to the cache, which had the cache about 400m away. There is a track start here, so grab my kit and set off. 10 minutes later I am back, to try the other track. That one is better, but parallels the stream. I need to cross it to the other side. Bush bashing I go! Into the gully, over the stream, up the other side. Get to the cache. There's a road here! It's not on the maps! (Wanting to get the bicycle and plot them)(actually, I should have done it in the car)(oh, well, too late now. Maybe another time). Bush bashed into the stream and back to the car. Later I found where that road to this cache come out - I'm not sure I would not have found it when looking for where to park.
Took me ages to find the cache. In fact, after 20 minutes, I gave up, and was walking out... and saw it! Where I had searched three times already. Now that I have access to the description and hint... Yes, the hint would have stopped me searching over there, and way over there...
On the way down to the stream on the way back the sole came off the heel of my boot. It managed to stay attached at the toe for the rest of the day but must have looked very funny!
Check out the photo's!

did an off road half marathon today at the tec park and thought while we were here we would see if there were any caches so grabbed this one. thank you:)
A quick drive by? Well I wasnt exactly driving past this for any reason other than for finding this. I was already starting to feel like I needed a 4x4 to get to this point and I certainly wasnt going to drive any further than necessary. No flying today, but I was out this way to check out the RC Cars on the other side of the park. Cache was in good order. Thanks for bringing me out here. I hope to spend more time out in this park in the future.
Found after second look, looking lower. Great area thought the lush green area was a golf course.
It was amazing to discover the little green airstrip out in the middle if nowhere. Cache soon located TFTC.
Quick trip up the road, and followed hint instructions. Took longer to do the 15 point turn than it did to find the cache
So we did five caches today and they were all lion fish caches this was not planned just the way it turned out. This was number one on our way to Te Puna for last night of TKD training for the year. Quick find then onto the next.
Checked on cache today - contents nice & dry. Took the Geocoin - it's time it was moved along.
Very interesting seeing around the TECT Park, although no flying today. It seems a long way to come to the club but a great spot. Quick find, thanks a lot.
Watched the flyers for some time before continuing our explore of this area. Thanks for bringing us here.

No one flying high around here, checked my zipper and no one flying low either...
Nice "drive by" in the van.

Found during long 40 km walk to Tect Park. When I walk along the plane model area, I saw one nice plane flying on the sky and making very nice acrobatic things.
Nice cache, easy to found.

Time for one more on our way home. Decided on this one because it sounded easier than the others. A drive by. Well sort of. After winding our way around TECT for several k's finally found found GZ. Mrs S turned the car around while Mr S found the cache, signed and returned. TOTALLY muggle free area today. Thanks Lion Fish.
Was feeling a tad lethargic after yet another hot day. Have been eating enough to feed an army this week, so had to do something strenuous. Had noticed these TECT caches and was waiting for the right opportunity to visit... and maybe a good walk.
Well... Didn't get much exercise by doing this cache. Spotted the hint from a distance and drove right up to the cache. A quick find from there. Again, had no idea this facility existed before today. I'd only ever come as far as the confidence course at the intersection. Thanks for the little tour of this side of the park, and TFTC.

Hey, woof... JC Cache Dawg here...
I'm loading all my finds from my Alpha Males (aka GenCuster) logs, where he deigned to remember that I was with him... As if he could forget...12/02/13 11:35

12/02/13 11:35 I was hoping for a fly-by to see with JC Cache Dawg but not to be. Never driven this far into the park before.
Thanks Lion Fish. Cheers, GC.

This is shaping up to be a very awesome park. Was hoping to be FTF but slept in instead. Congrats NZFLOSSY. Thanks Lionfish for bringing us here and TFTC
FTF FTF FTF Off to Rotorua and thought I would stop at the park and see if these two still had clean logs sheets. I haven't been over this side before and wasn't really sure where I was going - follow the road and trust the description of a drive by - finally got there and yes clean log sheet - I didn't know how many different sport events were up here - a great facility for all sorts of people TFTF
