Gk went over to find this one, goes to show the power of mother nature. I imagine it will be a continuing battle in the years to come. Thanks for placing the cache and thank you for the smiley
Travelled from Hampden to Oamaru today, then back to Kakanui. Picked up about a dozen caches along the way, plus an Ad Lab. Stopped for this one on my way to Kakanui mid-afternoon. A reasonably quick find. #7414. TFTC.
This was a very cool find, was in the first spot I looked beside the post under the grass. Had some cool swag in it, I got a little lady bug and out something back in return.
An easy find by the old road by the sea. There is a wonderful log house and matching four-bay garage nearby. We watched three people out riding the surf but only one wave got established enough to get one person to stand up to surf.
A nice place to stop. Jude_E are on another road trip. We're stopping in Oamaru today. Thanks for hiding this cache hill55 I appreciate it.
Easy find - took the well worn path straight to the cache. None one parked here when we pulled in but three cars parked by the time we left (in the space of less than five minutes!) TFTC
Having overnighted in Oamaru and noted that I had heaps of unfound caches between Oamaru and Kakanui I decided to spend the afternoon clearing as many of them as I could. Why do people keep leaving sodden old unwriteable logs in containers along with the fresh new logs? [xx(] [:(!] This was the case here. Nobody is going to attempt to read the old log! I removed the sodden one. This was find #12.
Thanks, we had a bit of rainy day fun, back in the car sheltered from the rain!
Almost missed it as my eyes adjusted. Nice cache. Note that the top is a screw top (dont wreck your naiks trying to pull the top off it). TFTC
This was a clever hide, be careful yes managed to trip on wire after avoiding several. All good happy to find you. Thanks for the cache hill55.
#17682. Had to watch my step getting to GZ (hollows to fall in, wire to get tangled in). Quick find once I was at GZ. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ while driving around North Otago picking up as many Mighty Oaks and solved puzzles as possible. A good day out, despite the southerly wind blasting us at many locations, with a total haul of 61 cache finds. And we had to drive past lots of caches too! Many thanks to all the cache hiders in the area, we are very grateful for the time and effort you put into geocaching.
Good pull off point, then a careful walk through the long grass to GZ where SW made the find. TFTC.

After a exhausting game of golf I was not really in caching mode - but soon found and signed the log. TFTC
Easy find but very wet. Needs attention. Left a little elevated but still hidden.

We stopped here on the way back with our fish and chip takeaway to eat them. It was a pleasure to notice this was within distance for me to find. I'd already commented on a small detour of the sealed road to avoid a landslip. This is much more significant, thanks for showing me. Log signed and replaced.
On a quest to complete the Hidden Creatures challenge so again off to Oamaru to find about 80 caches and this was one of them. I have driven past here a million times and today was the day to stop. TFTC
Heading South for a break and a bit of Geocaching. Grabbing a few on our way from Oamaru to Lawrence.via Middlemarch.

It's always nice to stop and take in the beautiful scenery when in Kakanui, brings back awesome childhood memories. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I had a goal to get to 2000 finds before the end of 2017 so a 2 day caching mission to Oamaru was in order. I took the back roads and headed towards Kakanui. Nice quick find. TFTC
Found it on a beautiful morning! The logbook is wet because the bag is broken.
There was no one parked here when I stopped. Nice easy one. Thanks hill55

The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. What a day this was going to be and a chance to have a good look around the area. It was amazing to wake up after having afull nights sleep and not have that sand in the eyes feeling and sore back from sleeping in the back of a car. Starting the day off working our way along the coast, followed by a spot of inland caching before making it back to Oamaru for a bite to eat followed by a bit more caching.

Found on the way home from the geofest in oamaru. Weather rather wet today but it doesn't deter us. Nice hide.
On the way home from Geofest on a wet day. Not a great day for geocaching but can't resist finding a few on the way.
The 4th of our 6 Day Adventure to and around Oamaru for [Oamaru Geofest 2017](https://coord.info/GC6M2V0).
Today included an early morning CITO, observing the Steampunk competition, a lunchtime Event and of course fitting in some geocaching between the wind and the spit which then later turned to rain.
There was noone here in the wind and by now lite spit so we stopped to adhere to the title - oh and to add our name to the logbook kindly left for us Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smilies

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 5: With a good nights sleep for the first time this trip, we were up early and out the door for another full days caching. The goal for today was to cache our way down to the Moeraki Boulders and then see where the next cache lead us. One thing we were looking out for today was caches which hadn't been found in a long time.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

A nice quick find at the end of the elephant tracks (a benefit of searching near the end of Geofest weekend). One of 25 today, hence the short log, sorry.

I drove up from Dunedin to to Oamaru today on my way to attend the weekend's Geofest Event. I ventured off the main highway a number of times to explore the country byways. There was of course the odd cache to find along the way as well. All in all a very pleasant trip with some interesting places and great views along the way. Cheers and TFTC

Walksabit and I were headed to Moeraki Boulders and he stopped here for a photo op and I checked for caches. I had no problems finding and retrieving his cache. Wow, was it ever blustery and the water was very choppy. TFTC

Decided to follow a geo trail that indicated an unexplored coastal route potential existence... spent a little time wondering why the cache load was not showing on one of the GPS...and christianing the new Android otg cable interface and was able to solve the problem in a three way conversation from working Garmin to the sleeping Garmin via Android ..it works! ... log damp but writable
Been staying in Oamaru and haven't had time for geocaching, so we went out for a quick afternoon drive and grabbed this as our one token find this trip. Heading back to the North Island tomorrow. Tftc
Been a while since I've come down this road, was still open/there when I was here last.
