Tftc - after a scramble down the cliff finding multiple ways down geo dad wouldnt allow me to do any. After 2 hours and help of storyteller I climbed over the rock and jumped down to gz not long after I located the cache and marked as a fine.
Tftc - FINALLY, with the help of geoson we finally got it after 5 visits to this horrible cache A reluctant fav from me
Nice challenge Tftc! One of us retrieved another placed it backNot sure how PodargusTG managed to climb quite deep in I also had to give him a serious talk on how he shouldn't hide it even more and leave it as visible as we found it
Very slippery from all the accumulated dry leaf material. Only just made it in. thftc
OCW Meritonnn and CurlieBunny666. These two had found all the other caches today. I felt under pressure to lift my game. We descended one level. Very slippery with leaf litter. I managed to get around to the other side of an outcrop and looked down (big mistake) and saw what I thought was the opening which would lead to the cache. There was no way that I was brave enough to climb down to that. I climbed back to the top. Meritonnn PAFed and got a message "not in a dangerous location." This made me look around the other side and fortunately I saw a better location. A bit easier and safer that the other one. Climbed in and with great relief saw the cache. SL more or less in situ, before returning to the others. I was then informed that the previous message was for another cache and the new message was "not for the faint-hearted!"
Thanks limaka for the challenge.

OCW SueDan83 and Curliebunny666. This was find #6 for the day and what a doozie.... I have done a fair bit of high terrain caching out along the Georges River, but these cliff lines here make Kentlyn look like Disneyland! Unforgiving drops to say the least! At GZ, with 10m on our GPS, Dan and I climbed down a level and gingerly started poking around. With all the loose and slippery leaf litter I was hesitant to go further but as CB666 said - Dan is the man, bravely going where no Meritonnn was willing to go. But the cache still proved elusive. Climbing back up, I resorted to a PAF who informed me that the D/T rating was perhaps not as bad as indicated and we would certainly not be risking life or limb getting to it. Hmmm.... glancing back over at the slippery terrain and sheer drops I tried to recalculate where we should be looking and began to direct Dan. Looking back at my phone, I saw my PAF had sent me another message 'I was thinking of the wrong cache!!! This one's not for the feint of heart!!!'. Whoops! Luckily at that very moment, Dan managed to find the cache! Lol. Thanks for the cache and the associated anxiety and pushing of boundaries!
Stumbled across it by accident. Never knew what “geocaching” was until today. FYI pen may need replacing soon. Thank you so much.
F$#% - went back again today and got down to where it should have been but wasn’t. Getting to where I did with a large phobia of heights was an achievement in itself. I will be back!
Arrived at GZ and looked down. Oh boy ....... Found the way down and proceeded into the crack. Oh boy ..... I am by myself. I think i know where it is but without someone else I do not dare. Ill be back.
Came back for a second crack at this after losing a few kg compared to a couple of years ago. Well worth the terrain rating. Had to be really sure of my footing being so close to the edge and slid down the loose part very, very slowly. The squeeze to get to the cache was very narrow and wouldn't recommend going alone even though I did. Great spot. TFTC
I was out with geofamily doing caches around Mt Riverview and this cache wasn't too much further on, so decided to go for it. The description had me a little worried about what I would be in for and so I left the rest of the geofamily at the cliff tops while I ventured further...
coords were good, and I found a fairly safe way to GZ. Spied what I though would be the likely hide spot but avoided it until I looked around more.... yep, that was where I would have to go. Found cache and brought it out to sign. Found a swap for my son, so had to climb back out to get my bag with the SWAG to trade... what a sucker for punishment. Bit of a workout, but a fun cache. TFTC limaka.

Found with mhm1 on our first caching mission together in yonks. A bit hair-raising at the end. I spied a likely spot but didn't want to try going in, being a little on the corpulent side. mhm1, armed with a torch, came down to check out the spot. Two minutes later he had the cache. TFTC!
The previous finder had inadvertently written 19/5/19 in the book, so I made a cheeky comment about time travelers, in the log book. But chances are I sometimes make little mistakes like that too.

Very disappointed to not find this. Quite a climb, attributes are perfect. Scared the geokids by being down the cliff too long so will have to try another day.
Tftc I’ll be back. Definitely top 10 if it 5 I’ve done in OZ.

This was my highlight cache for the day. Up for a challenge? Yep, continued on the trail.
Arrived at GZ and the arrow suggested further out, so with that being, squeezed my body down between huge cliff rocks to the next elevation.
Reach at platform at where a drop off on 3 of the four sides, from there I performed the duties for CIH, amazing experience and fav Point, thanks limaka

Nope. Saw the claustrophobic gap it should be in and i am way too tall to fit in there
Today MrT decided to go out to the end of Mt.Riv for a walk. This is an area we like to go and birdwatch, so know it well. He had looked at the info on this cache and decided to check it out while out there. He was surprised how quickly he found it! (Being a local probably helped). Retrieved the cache, signed log and returned as found. TFTC
Today was a big adventure day, knocking off most of the caches from [Phobias](http://coord.info/gc47xxq) in the east, up over Bad Man Ridge, to Warrimoo. I'm very pleased to have found 16 of 16 including some real doozies. I got dirty, sweaty, and sunburnt, with only one close call to speak of. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining some really great caches. Doling out favourite points is going to be a tough call for sure!

Cache #2. I'm blessed by the fact that I suffer from very few phobias, and the majority of them are fairly logical. But being a Canadian, I was a little bit apprehensive squeezing in to grab this one, since we don't have the kinds of spiders and snakes that you Aussies have. But, happily, I encountered no hunstmen, or anything else that was running through my mind at the time. SL and replaced for the next poor soul. TFTC!

Wow what an awesome cache. Nice walk until you get close to gz then all them phobias started running through my head. Hate small places but hey all part of the adventure. Now to figure out how to get back.

Completed maintenance on cache after DNF last weekend. Cache is sitting in its spot nicely. Dropped a TB off as well.
Come find it!

Scrambled down a crevice and into a leaf covered slippery section. Very carefully looked around and then moved along a ledge for as far as I felt safe to do. However, I couldn't see a suitable "phobic" spot and soon returned to safe ground.
Election Day! We don't know who won yet! Turnbull V Shorten! TFTC. What a great spot!
Wow, what a fantastic cache and spectacular location.
After completing a job in Kingswood with JJCC earlier today, we headed across the river to find a cache for the day...and one that filled a hole in our D/T matrix. Parking the car at the end of Grand View Drive, we enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the fire trail until the track became a small track weaving along the cliff line.
Within 20 metres of GZ we headed towards the cliff and faced our first decision and selected the most likely. Carefully working our way around the cliff face we checked several likely positions but the GPS was no really helping. Thinking we had the level incorrect we backtracked and worked ourselves back down to a position on a lower more precarious ledge...but no cache.
Moving back up a level we remembered what the cache was about and decided to check a likely hide which had opened itself up from our current position which wasn't evident on our first inspection. teamMerlin took the lead and squeezed in finding the cache container nicely tucked away at the end. Passing the container out to JJCC, we signed the log and then returned the container to where we found it.
Both the log and container and in excellent condition. TFTC limaka.
A very enjoyable cache and a fav point from us.

You have got to be kidding. How did we get here.
Heading out from Kingswood with Team Merlin, we headed to find a cache for the day.
Parking as close to the GZ we walked along a fire trail to the end. A magnificent view of the Penrith lakes in the distance and the cliffs below.
Approaching GZ we needed to get closer to the cliff face. As we managed to check at likely locations with no success. It was time to get a better look on another level. Standing on the cliff face thinking what are we doing. We confirmed the details of the cache and found a possible location. Once at this level Team Merlin took the plunge with his long reach and made his way into another Phobia territory.
With his eyes on the prize he handed me the cache to sign and he returned as found. Both cache container and log in good condition.
Phobias that had to be kept in check
Achluophobia – fear of darkness.
Acrophobia – fear of heights.
Agoraphobia – fear of places or events where escape is impossible or when help is unavailable.
Arachnophobia – fear of spiders.
Atychiphobia – fear of failure.
Claustrophobia – fear of having no escape and being closed in.
Decidophobia – fear of making decisions.
Mysophobia – fear of germs, contamination or dirt.
Necrophobia – fear of death and/or the dead.
Nyctophobia, Achluophobia, Lygophobia, Scotophobia – fear of darkness.
Ophidiophobia – fear/dislike of snakes.
Phobophobia – fear of having a phobia or of fear. (Love it!)
Thanatophobia – fear of dying.
Traumatophobia – a synonym for injury phobia: fear of having an injury.
Trypophobia – fear of holes.
My Phobias were certainly put through its passers today. This is not a cache to be attempted at night.
This cache will not easily be muggled here.
Thanks for the views a favourite point from us glad I am not the CO to go and frequently checking in to this cache.

This one is without question in the top 10 best caches I have ever done. A great walk with beautiful views leading to an awesome cache location and placement. Rather than pass it out to Mr Hancock, I made sure he got the full experience by putting it back in place for him. It would have been cruel to deny him the pleasure
Brilliant cache, thank you so much.

Today, I only had one cache in mind to do which was this one. So, after calling Team Canary about what was the best way to approach this cache and him giving me a bit of local knowledge on how to get there. I set off after dropping geodaughter off at Penrith Academy of Fencing and marking my way up the hill following Canary's instructions. Parked Geobeast at the start of the firetrail and loved the walk along the firetrail. As I was homing in on GZ, I could start to see the views coming into play and soon found the foot trail to GZ. Looking out at the possibilities of where one would hide a cache here, I headed down the $#@*^$ side and soon realized I had made the wrong choice, so it was back up and down to the *^$*#@!$ side and things looked promising. Having read the previous logs, I kind of knew I had to look for something and soon had it in my sights. Using all of the Speleology(Science of Caves) skills I could muster, I soon had the cache in hand. Did the legals and replaced as found. Now about the cache! This is the type of cache that keeps my interest in this hobby and deserves a favorite point from DKmacca. Thanks Limaka for bringing me here.
Cheers

For me the cache of the day! Love to explore areas like this and this is a place I would have hidden the cache as well. I am still flexible enough to get to GZ and no fear of heights!

Excellent cache. So close to civilisation, yet one has the feeling of being properly in the bush. As advertised, easy walk to get within the range of the cache, but the last few meters are a decent scramble and then a tight squeeze. All in all good fun on a Sunday afternoon. Many TFTC!
After completing The Bad Man Places A Film Canister I quickly made my way back to the fire trail with an easy path all the way to the GZ. Definitely a cool little spot for the cache. No Phobias for me retrieving this one. Another one for the favourites! TFTC.
A lovely afternoon for geocaching. Found this one and fortunately I was not too portly to reach it. (Although I had taken my geodaughter along just in case.) Didn't experience too many phobias either. Left a few trinkets and took the TB CITO Travel tag.

had the responsibility of retrieving this one despite being a bit claustrophobic. Good hide!
Was going through my previous logs today and for some reason I didn't log this one when I had found it.
Had been to the cache once before, and the phobias got to me pretty quick.
Returned here when the geo brother and I were both in town. Took the easier path this time and the cache was quickly in hand.
Thanks for the challenging cache - a favourite point from me!

Like my fellow CO's with caches in the area, just going to temp disable this one while there is fire activity in the area....
After completing the film canister cache we made our way through the scrub back to the fire trail as the day rapidly warmed up. The wind was also picking up quite strongly making walking conditions a little bit tedious. Nevertheless we headed down towards this cache along an easy path and arrived at some lovely large rock platforms with views out over Penrith lakes. What the hell are they anyway? They seem to have been constructing or gouging out these things for decades. They look like a mining area.
Anyway at GZ we saw where the cache was likely to be together with a couple of options to approach. Picked the best looking route and Tronador led the way towards the cache. Yes it is a little bit dodgy but pretty safe if handled with care. We spotted a very likely hiding place and the svelte Tronador was assigned the final task - which she completed with great aplomb!
The cache duties completed we made our way carefully back up to the top and thence along the heat blasted fire trail to the cars. Great cache.

Having just conquered the Badman, we continued to face our phobias. The walk along the fire trail brought back memories of an earlier expedition some years ago to find a few other caches on this ridge. I most likely even stood atop GZ in days gone past before the cache was here. There really is only one possible approach and at no time did I feel unsafe. As long as I remained upright, there was no chance of plummeting to the creek below. I spotted GZ immediately and thought it's got to be there. GZ itself is incredibly safe. Lady Altaire had opted to stay up above so Sir Altaire and I continued on alone. Putting my yoga skills to good use, I gingerly made my way the last few metres to the cache. Grabbing the cache I passed it to Sir Altaire. We completed the caching business until the cache was handed back to me to return it to its hidey hole. I did offer this job to Sir Altaire but he politely declined.
We trudge our way back up the hill....... where did that hill come from? The day had heated up by now and the wind was blowing, and I was feeling a little hot and bothered.
I liked this cache a lot... thanks for the adventure.

Had the rare opportunity of a morning totally to myself. Made the most of it with a tough caching trip around Blaxland.
I'm not normally too fussed with phobias, but the drops near GZ certainly had me moving slowly and carefully! Peeked around a few spots before eyeing a likely slot. Luckily, I am definately of the skinny variety, so the last few metres didn't cause too many problems. Although, my heart certainly skipped a beat when I trod on a stick which made a rustling sound like a snake!

Well this is the first cache I have ever got to the GZ and decided to head back without even trying to find the cache.
After completing the gamergirlz cache I thought I'd give this one a try. Took the cache name, hint and recent logs lightly (maybe a little too lightly) as I'd never found one that was 'too' hard.
Got within a few meters of the cache and decided to make my way down, and then straight back up!
Between the phobias, being alone, not having any equipment and noone really knowing where I was, I decided to play the safe are today. Not sure if ill be back for this one anytime soon....

I returned with a less portly friend, pjmpjm!?!
We waked out in overcast conditions eating our lunch. Near GZ was left our stuff and made the final approach and signed the logbook.
Luckily, the rain held out until the cache had been returned. But, on the walk back to the car we were soaked to the skin. Lucky we don't have Ombrophobia! Although that would be unlikely in anyone who lives in the Blue Mountains!?!

This cache was one of four I logged today, while on an expedition in the lower Blue Mountains with the senior member of Team Canary . . . We had a great time and mostly escaped the fog and rain so prevalent in the upper mountains . . .
'Phobias' provided the greatest challenge on the day, notwithstanding the 'terrain 4' of rogerw3's newest hide.
No problem in finding GZ itself. Both TC and I already knew this area, because of other caches. And there were clearly two ways down to the right place. Some problems might be encountered in the descent, but it wasn't really too bad by Blue Mountains standards. Not for the geo-kids, of course.
So there we were. I was well prepared for all phobias except one. And of course that was the one I had to face. Those other phobias have never troubled me too greatly in any case.
First try was a scouting expedition, and I made it much too difficult. I misjudged where I thought the cache was hidden and didn't turn on my little torch because I thought I could see OK. A temporary retreat, a few breaths of fresh air, and back I went, this time finding the whole exercise much easier.
Cache was in good condition. TNLNSL. Replaced with a slight addition of camo to keep the container securely in place.
I'll have to give this one a favourite point, because of the excellent views from up top, the interesting rocky descent to GZ, but especially for the opportunity to overcame one of my phobias. (And it ain't snakes and spiders!)
Good one, limaka. And located in a great spot to overlook the Nepean River in the distance. (The point will arrive soon, when I earn another one.)

Wow that was an adventure.
After a long search, had finally given up when Old Scout Bear pointed out one last spot we should check. Turned out it wasn't there but on the way back I found another place to look and after a bit of fumbling, found a good approach and retrieved the cache.
Glad I don't suffer from ophidophobia, as I came nose to nose with a scaly, legless friend by the cache. Fortunately she was more the kind to give you a hug rather than a nasty kiss and was happy to leave me in peace to go about my caching.
Best cache I've done in a long time.

Quite a find for a Old Bear who is physically challenged, couldn't have retrieved cache if Swiftthistle was unavailable.

Parked at the gate to the fire trail and walked through towards GZ. Having done this walk a few times in the past, getting towards GZ wasn't any problem. I had ran into someone bushwalking and they knew what I was up to because of the GPRs in hand. They told me they knew of the former cache listed near the GZ. Funny enough that I check up on that cache, although the listing is archived, the cache is still there!
I continued on towards GZ for this cache. Getting close, I could tell by the terrain this wasn't going to be easy. I found a way towards GZ and very careful found a safe way to get to GZ. Not sure where to look at, I made a quick search around in the usual places up and down, left to right. I quickly got back to GZ to start a new method of search.
Once I got back there, the hide location was right there! I wasn't sure at first and wasn't that confident I was right, but the closer inspection proved my correctness. Now to get that cache in my hand?!?!I got it!
A fantastic location with an amazing cache hide. That hide was really remarkable!! One of the best cache hides I've seen for a while now. Very much a well done to you. Favourite Points for sure!!

I spent today geocaching with Team Webguy hoping to get back in the swing of it after some time away. We agreed on a relatively easy set of geocaches, but towards the end of the day he started heading towards this one. He said it was a bit challenging, but I should be right.
Thankfully, I didn't know the history of those who have been before me. But I have been to this ridge a few times and I knew I had to be careful. Admittedly, Webguy found the cache but he replaced it and I had a turn at extracting it. Fantastic hide and location, certainly the type of geocaching that I enjoy. Thank you for the challenge. Favourite point coming your way.

I had just broken a toe when this was published, so it has taken me a while to get out here to once again enjoy the views. After looking over the edge into the yawning abyss that the Bad man loves so much, a voice whispered, "it can only be in there, don't be a pussy.... Just go get it"
I looked around and it was not Spindoc he was too far away.
So, I dumped all my worldly possessions into a pile with a note for anyone who happened to find them if I did not return.
I followed a now getting well worn path to what I had espied from up top, yep, that looks about right, but, but my source of illumination was not with me. With 2G mobile broadband, Spindoc summoned an illuminating app from the ether. I had light at last, and, my head had nearly been touching it when I was in the spot a few minutes earlier.
More whispers into my ear, something about getting wood, I twisted around to make sure Spindoc had not tried to join me in my stone tomb, nowhere to be seen, who the hell is whispering!
Caching duties done, I replaced the cache so that Spindoc could enjoy the total adventure that he had signed on for.
As he disappeared into the tomb from which I had just backed out of, I sat and pondered a number of things, the CO has never set a cache like this! Dirty bugger had not known that this was my spot, I just had not found it yet. What will his next hide be like?
I think the evil pills I slipped into his eclipse mints were taking effect, I may have to get his wife to up the dosage a couple of notches.
How can I not give this a favourite?

We came, we walked, we failed!
I brought the wrong tool. I shall return with a younger, smaller tool!?!

I am far too young to say adventure before dementia but perhaps I should have had this on my bucket list. In a last minute decidion today I ventured out to this one by the newest Badman Apprentice candidate.
The only real phobia I had was of falling, which is pretty standard. The literal gut-wrenching was a bit painful as i'm sure there were several bits sticking into me at some point. [xx(] If there was a fear of having to keep your body in awkward spots, I would choose that one.
Dutifully took a whole page log and scrambled back out of there!

Ventured out with Geowife and whitemushroom, I think we came close and found an amazing rock overhang that I carefully climbed up into with no smilie to be found, Also found a another likely spot but my agoraphobia kicked in.
Geowife (seemingly she is always the target of all things evil, bighty, spikey or just plain ouchy) would like Myrmecophobia (Fear of Ants) added as another phobia that may be tested near GZ after disturbing a nest of large bull ants and then receiving a kiss from one.
Thanks great area, will be back another day.

Ventured to this challenging set of sheer rock and shelves with the senior crew of All Strung Out. More adventurous team ASO did a valiant scramble to seek in a largish crevice, but a settled Magellan drew them back and to a marginally open cliffside area. A cautious, very, clamber and looksee, whitemushroom retreated with a head down ASO peering into a suspected GZ. While on rope (and ant slapping, gawd they are big bu****s, with a less than delicate kiss according to Lady ASO), duties for said Lady, team ASO spent some time pondering the possibilities, but sense eventually called a retreat.
A great location, limaka, and a test for the clambering challenged. TFTC
(A return to the seek is most likely!)

Know this area well and it's potential to test a number of phobias. I tested one as I think I found the hard way to GZ. Extracting the cache was fun and I signed the log in situ. Getting away from the area was better than the way I went it, but still had to be super careful.
All in all, a great caching experience. Thanks for the awesome hide limaka.

Was never expecting to be first after this was published two days ago. Walked down the fire trail and I saw a fresh set of tracks from the previous nights rain. Could they have been cachers tracks. I would soon find out. This tested my Acrophobia, Atychiphobia, Claustrophobia, Achluophobia and finally Ophidiophobia. Thanks limaka for another challenging cache at this lovely location with views of the river and the lakes project.
