I've seen plenty of microwave letter boxes but this one was certainly unique.Loved it! Well done on the effort put into the contruction of the container.Giving it a favourite point for the uniqueness of it.TFTC
Found It!I've seen a few microwave mailboxes before but none quite like this one!TFTC

On the road from Coonabarabran today with BenM70, after the Mega back to Toowoomba. On a mission to grab a first to find around Tamworth. This one was out of the way, but we did rescue a turtle on the way and got to enjoy the magical talking mailbox. Thank you cccmikey for placing this cache for me to enjoy!
Well, for someone that has not bothered to do anything geocaching related for a while I seem to be going out of the way to do Mega events. This particular caching trip was the brainchild of the other participant in this little excursion, that being greencordial. I flew into Toowoomba so we could drive down and pick up plenty of LGAs along the way. We got into Canberra late on Day 2 after picking up some challenges at Yass Day 3 and we chased many virtuals and caches in the city centre Day 4 saw a continuation of the UGC challenges, multis, virtuals and the odd tree fish as well as a wedding, a lackey and volunteer event were undertaken. Day 5 sees us start at parliament house, two lookouts, multies, virtuals, an epic night cache and a Pirate celebration. Day 6 saw the April Fools come out and a visit to Canberras oldest existing cache. Now for some more Yass challenges on the way home. Day 7 saw a FTF detour to Tamworth which took us up this way and a scan of the favourited caches brought us to here. Spotted a cute little turtle at a creek on the southern approach to this cache. Nicely done. Awesome letterbox. Thanks cccmikey for placing this Letterbox Hybrid for me to convert into a smilie
Found on an impromptu Easter road trip with CaptainVimes and little_miss_cacher. Thanks for the cache cccmikey
Taking out geodad for a drive and explore. 2nd ever letterbox. Dad loved it and made him smile.I can't believe this is a real mailbox love it
Found this one on the way home from Armidale. It has been on my to do list for 10 plus years. Happy to have a smiley here. Thanks for placing this one
Made a side trip to collect the mail here after seeing all of the favourite points. What a cool cache, well worth the detour. Log signed and back on track. Take another fp for your collection. Tftc!
What fun this cache was to find, although I had to close the door to enjoy the peace of the location. When we pulled up some neighbours were chatting at the gateway over the road. Luckily they knew about it and had pride showing me where the cache was, although I didnt need any help. Certainly worthy of another favourite point for the ingenious cache.
Wow. I dont know what I expected but it certainly delivered on the title. What a brilliant cache. Tftc!
What a fun cache. Like the change of pace, from searching for hidden subtle things to the in your face and ears! Of this one. Thanks for making our day. Tftc
I LOVED THIS CACHE. bunadoorian and I are enroute to Warwick QLD today. This was our second find for today. I enjoyed the drive to this lovely township. I would imitate the message all day during our travels much to bunadoorian's annoyance. TFTC and for bringing us here - cccmikey. Yes another favourite point from me.
A very loud noisy cache, Grub62 loved it. I gave it a favourite point. A nice little drive off the highway. TFTC.
We’ll, that was different! Also met a Shetland pony, inadvertently opened the gate, worked out how to close it again, and found a log to sign. TFTC!
I joined Willis007 and Chamad for a drive to Guyra today. This was the furthest we visited - and was well worth it. Fantastic cache and it does talk! So a fp. Tftc
With the holiday Tuesday, Willis007 came up with a cunning plan. The plan was to go for a long drive to complete a particular challenge cache. We are heading to Glen Innes and Guyra to collect some high altitude caches and a few fun ones along the way. It is going to be a long day with Willis007, Kolour and myself. All three of us have set goals and a few extras to collect but we all want those Tuesday caches. With only a couple of stops along the way we were making good time until. I spotted 4 new FTF’s in the area. We ended going for the walk on one and grabbing the ftf, awesome.
We heard so much about this one we had to check it out. OMGoodness how funny and we had to just wait and hear it to the end. Yes it gets another favourite point.
We signed the log, replaced as found and continued on our way. Thanks for the fun we had today and placing this cache here.

Needing to find some high altitude caches, Kolour, chamad and myself planned a day trip to Glen Innes and Guyra.
This was a must do on the list for today, so we headed here as our furthest point south, then turned north to start the trip home.
This was hilarious, a FP from me.
Thanks cccmikey

Needed a letterbox for this LGA and this was the only option. Very well worth the detour though, nicely done!

Very entertaining, tftc!! Kids enjoyed studying through the swaps available.
What can I say some geocaches are both annoying and make you chuckle. This is one of them. TFTC.
Blkthunder and I are off to Tamworth… having left home at 4am there’s plenty of time for caching…
Black Mountain, the entire town and its elevation helps with a challenge or two in Brisbane… so these were must do’s…
The quality of caches was an added bonus and delight…
A bit of detour to arrive here, but it was worth it… have another fave point for your collection…
Left Cisse 2 & Signal Football! Tag to carry on… hopefully further south…

Out on a road trip with EleniB55 and had to stop by to show her this geocache. We're on our way to Black Mountain to visit the railway station there.
I've been here more than once, if only to see the look of surprise on the faces of travelling companions when they open the mailbox.
Thanks again for a brilliant cache, cccmikey. Took nothing, left nothing, signed the logbook and travellers visited.

Staying around the Armidale area to cache for a few days.
Nice little drive out this way, a few more cars using this road than we expected. Awesome cache and easily our favourite of the day, very well deserved fp given

Lovely country road drive to get here and had chance to wave at the neighbour as they came down the river!! Very funny letterbox! Gets fave point from me!
This cache was on my list to help with another challenge and so glad it was! Loved the drive to get to it and the effort put into the cache creation. Favourite point given.

It was wet and 7 degrees this morning, so we decided that a few drives to interesting caches would be better than endless in and out of the warm car, so we decided to focus on the letterboxes around Armidale and go from them.
That's cool.... it was a nice drive out along Toms Gully Rd too..... the kids loved it, and made a video for the grandparents.... I suspect they will want me to fire up an arduino and make one of these for us too now! TFTC!

Found today while on a morning cache drive with my Dad, Mum and Little Brother, it was raining so we decided to head out and do some semi roadside caches before we went and got lunch, found 6 and also found a few more this afternoon...
Really cool cache, definitely deserves an FP!

Geofriend, Heather and I did some geocaching on the way to the Highland Gathering at Glen Innes. I had heard about this cache but this was the first time I had time to find it. We were not dissapointed! What a great Geocache! Heather was smitten by the horse. Well derserving of a favourite point. Took nothing, but left a hatching chicken. TFTC cccmikey
Just over two years ago my wife and I were holidaying in Armidale when we first visited this cache. Something wasn’t happening that day and we left without a find after the microwave had enjoyed a big night on the sherbets and had lost its voice. Today we were driving from Mudgee to Glen Innes and so stopped in for round two.
This time everyone was in a more talkative mood including the horse which came down to say hello. In fact it wasn’t shy in coming forward at all as it nudged me out of the way to have a crack at my wife. Another favourite point added. tftc

Crookedpete and I were given leave passes from our respective families for the Easter long weekend for a geocaching road trip. I suspect that this was our families' Easter present to themselves to have a weekend alone without our company .
As members of The Bromance geocaching collective, we are a rather contrarian bunch, so while the main geocaching action was apparently up north over Easter we decided to instead head south from Brisbane. Our main focus was on caches with lots of favourites, good DT combinations, high elevation or sitting sad and neglected with no visitors for an extended period. Well with this number of favourite points how could we drive past!
In fact I have driven past a number of times on previous geocaching road trips. On those occasions we have a far off destination to reach, with time being of the essence, and the detour out here didn't fit the schedule. No such issues tonight as we made our way out in the pitch dark. Not sure what to expect here but upon opening the cache all was revealed. I though my ears were going to start bleeding by the time we completed the logbook signing duties. Good thing your neighbours are a good distance way. TFTC

Instead of heading mega north for Easter, Seffnjarah and I planned a long weekend road trip collecting interesting caches and doing some bushwalks as we meandered our way south to Armidale and surrounds.
Whilst this one was a little out of the way, with this many favourite points, we had to detour to see what it was all about. Well, what a carry on. I thought it would never stop! Does it spook the animals? I can only imagine your posties anticipation when you actually do. Got a good belly laugh at the end. Log book was signed and we headed south. Have a crooked favourite point.
Many thanks cccmikey

Roadtrip today to collect some bare rooted fruit trees from the nursery and combined the trip with this cache. It must have been the coldest day of the year, and the ice was building up on the windscreen as we parked across the road from the mailbox. Totally worth getting icy and wet for. TFTC
We were in the area this afternoon & couldn't resist the lure of this cache, even though it was out of the way, freezing cold & there was flurries of sleet & sago. & it was totally worth it! I'm logging this a couple of days later & Googlasaurus has been asking me to open the microwave to repeat the message since we found it TFTC, fave for me.

On the return leg of our road trip to Brisbane after spending the night in Armidale. With freezing temperatures overnight, glad we opted for a motel rather than the tent. A quick detour north to grab this letterbox and check in on Captain Thunderbolt's cave.

Finally, a real geocaching mission with an airplane flight, nights away, so many caches on the list and a road trip home! Flew up from CBR on 1 April with TikvaNZ to join Fox in Jox for a 5 day full-on mission centred around attending the Dayboro Mega event. Plan is to cache in around BNE, targeting old caches, virtuals, LBHs, Wherigos, DT combinations and anything else that takes our fancy and then start heading home Monday via as many counties as we can squeeze in. We have so many caches on the list we are unlikely to get them all, but we will try our best! Don’t care if it rains or snows - QLD here we come!
This cache: our last cache before stopping our journey south to our pit stop in Armidale. Very cute cache. Fav point comin at ya for all sorts of reasons!
Thanks cccmikey for the cache and the fun!

I actually think the whole talking microwave is a ruse. It's the horse - a ventriloquist. Very good, mind you. Stood right behind the letterbox as we signed to make sure everything was fine. Good cache guardian. A fave, of course. TFTC cccmikey

After leaving home yesterday afternoon, this was our first full day of caching with the aim of heading north whilst county hopping along the way.
A nice easy find here today.....unfortunately, the microwave got camera shy when we tried to recreate our initial find. Fav point from me.

With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border and see what happens, while developing a Plan B (Longreach region) and a Plan C (New South Wales counties loop) ! Day 2. An early start today with an aim of caching our way through some counties and spending the night in Tenterfield. Everything went according to plan which made for a great days travel and caching, with some wonderful places visited. This was the next stop for the day, and another well constructed cache hide. Hilarious !! Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on up the highway.
Thanks cccmikey !! Favourite Point of course !

Microwave has lost its voice - probably just corrosion on the volume knob inside. Will give it a clean on the weekend and see if that restores it.
With Fangsoki, Crew153 and 1MinnieMoo we have been on the Dorrigo Plateau for the weekend - and now taking the New England back to Brisbane. Our next caching stop this day was here. We spotted this one on some facebook group and decided it was a must add to the target list for our Long Weekend trip - and oh wow is that cool. Weird (umm ok, it doesn't stop quickly does it?). Well, that was different. Indeed.

Fangsoki, PPrime, Crew153 and I were spending the Australia Day long weekend in and around Dorrigo. This was our final day of our trip.
We had heard about the famous talking solar microwave letterbox cache, so had to have it on our list for this trip out of complete curiosity. Arriving at GZ, we wandered over, and PPrime got ready with the recording of the reveal. No sooner had I opened it the chatter began to much amusement. However I had to close the letterbox while we signed the log to silence it for a bit. Then a quick return of the logbook and the letterbox itself stopped rather humorously with a “yayyyy”.
Thanks for the cache and the laughs cccmikey.

I was on the road from Uralla - headed back home to Lismore when I was sussing out what caches I should stop in at. I didn't have a lot of time, but I wanted to get a few good ones.
I pulled out the map and saw a letterbox, all the way out at Black Mountain. Nice place out there, so I decided to go for this one. And I'm glad I did. The cache certainly did not disappoint. Pulled over and saw the box straight away, and it wan't long and it was talking to me. Love the stamp, and there's plenty of swag in here. I took a path tag, and left a set of glow sticks.
Thanks to the CO for creating such a fun cache. I'd recommend this one to everyone. So many good caches in the New England area, and it's great that they're not all on the highway. Thanks again cccmikey! Love your work!

Found on a very cold morning at the time the car was saying 0 degrees but when l left Guyra it was -2.
Such a clever cache, giving it a heart as well

It's behaving most of the time now. Looks like the battery drained one day and took a while to recover. (Solar)
Dont know what went wrong with this one as i was there on the day n it was talking 19 to the dozen!
The letterbox seems to have lost it’s voice today or maybe we were doing something wrong

Made a detour off the highway to visit here. Had a laugh when I opened the door and it started talking to me! Signed the log and did a few swaps as there were two pathtags inside which made me jump for joy. Put in a double tag from my collection and some fun stuff for the younger cachers. Liked the naughty stamp!
Saw the note about the letterbox not working by a visitor on the same day as me. It was going fine when I visited in the morning.

We're back in Australia once again, picking up a few caches as we explore.
