I headed to Ballarat for the weekend for some events and some caching too. That's another BSRT cache knocked off. Just 40 more after today. Thanks to McAdies & Geo_Eddie for the cache.
Short walk in from the road. Good hint and a lot of bark, but an easy find!!! TFTC
Had the bug from my morning trip coming home from the airport and grabbing some caches. So jumped into the PeuGEOt and did some on the BSRT. TFTC
Found at 1:36 PM GAFF1.Looks like a whole family of slaters were living there - oh well they will have to rebuild. Thanks to McAdies
Time to fix up our missed counties, so we ventured into this one to grab ourselves a few. Tftc
Fourth full day in Ballarat and with the kids still asleep, we continued our holiday tradition of Huntress off on a long run, while I went off geocaching. This morning I was focusing on the Goldern Plains LGA. As such we drove to Smythesdale and while I started geocaching heading South, Huntress started her 20 kilometre run back to Ballarat.
Most caches found in good condition and pretty quick for myself who often takes forever to find a basic hide. Think the total for this morning was 19 finds with only 2 DNF, and that should take my Goldern Plains LGA to over 20.
Bike rider just started the trail here. No idea where he came from.
Thanks for the cache McAdies

With both kids at Scout Jamboree we had a holiday in Ballarat. I decided we should attempt a distance along the BSRT. We borrowed the kids bikes as they are so much better than our rickety bikes. We were starting to do every second one on the way north to break the journey on our return to the car. I have seen these signs before on the Warburton Rail Trail on the other side of Melbourne so knew what to look for. Nice cache. thanks for the cache. Hubby made this find too
Nice easy find on our scooter trip. There's a bit of barking (woof woof) going on here!
LeeLee and AusFox; set out today to complete another section of the BSRT before attending a few events later in the day. We had a leisurely ride of over 15kms one way on a perfect day.
Left swaps in caches along the trail where I could. On the home stretch now.
TFTC. A great day out riding.

What an amazing way to start 2020 with perfect weather and a ride along the BSRT trail from Ballarat to Smythesdale with Crack'n'LeeLee followed by a CITO and an evening dinner Event.

TFTC. We left St Arnaud this morning and headed to Haddon. No it wanting to head home to Maryborough until after the Energy Breakthrough. Decided to stay a few days at the Lion Park in Haddon. Lovely spot. Took the bikes of the rack and slowly cycled toward Smythesdale to attempt those caches we had not previously found. A nice little haul of 7 caches and not overexerting ourselves.
Heading to St. Arnaud for the mega event. Day 67 of our trip. Caching along the way. A total of 4 for the day and 1840 for the trip. TFTC

Busy with a boys Bathurst break in Ballarat! An annual event where the boys can unwind and get dosed up on testosterone watching V8's burn gasoline
Out for a quick cache before the race, wandered down from my mates just around the corner.
**Thanks for placing this cache McAdies & Geo_Eddie**

I had a couple of challenge cache requirements to fulfil today as well as the desire for some exercise. The rail trail from Ballarat to Skipton as well as a couple of caches nearby fit the bill perfectly. After picking up my daily puzzle cache and driving to the Smythe's Creek cemetery it was onto the rail trail for a decent bit of exercise.
Almost all caches were found with only one DNF even after a PAF. Oddly enough it was perhaps the least likely to be muggled of the lot and yet..? My thanks to all the cache owners for providing an afternoon of solid entertainment.

A nice quick find just on dusk... and it's getting chilly... probably won't be able to say that again for about another week!

Doing the BSRT caches that are close to roads they pass over. Lovely afternoon for some short walks.
Found this cache out in the open but all still intact in the container - probably moved by small animal. Placed back in its spot and covered.

My first day out geocaching in Ballarat on this trip. Found this cache while taking a bite here and there of the BSRT PT attempting the ones that were with in a short walk of a road. Managed to find the cache before it started raining. Cache OK, TFTC.
Nice afternoon for a quick stroll along this section with geokid#3 before school pickup back in town. Aim is to walk while RT before relocating at end of January. Another section done; tftc
Find #1902 for me. Found at 3:30 pm while visiting Ballarat from Bendigo for the day. For some reason my GPS froze as I approached this one from where I'd parked off Thomas Road. Not having a signal to follow made it a little more difficult but using both the cache name and the hint it only took a few minutes to make the find. This was my fifth and final find along the rail trail today. The ones further out will have to wait for another day. Thanks for bringing me to the rail trail again today McAdies & Geo_Eddie and thanks for the cache!
Our apologies for the generic logs, they do not mean that we think any less of the caches or the placement of them.
Today we have decided to camp here at Smythesdale for a few days and go cache hunting in the area plus head into Ballarat to have a look around. We enjoyed the walk along the trail, we met with an interesting man walking two dogs who told us that about 100 meters ahead a snake had had a go at his dog. He also mentioned that the trail is known for there being quite a few snakes along it, so we picked up a nice sized stick to hopefully protect ourselves if needed and there was no need we did not see any snakes. All caches that we found today are in condition but one which we have put a maintenance log on. SL TFTC

After a day out we thought we would stop at this cache and make it our last for the day, Nice quick find TFTC
With MazzyMay it was a good Ballarat day to go out on the hunt to see what we could find. TFTC.
Lovely winter afternoon for a walk with Dippa46 with the challenge of 100 caches for the month before us. Quick search had cache in hand, signed and replaced. TFTC
Finally found some time to have a go at this trail today... something I've always wanted to do even before i discovered geocaching but now have a bigger reason to do it. Jumped on the deadly-treadly and made it from Alfredton to Nimmons Bridge in Scarsdale. Over 40 caches found which is one of my highest find days so far and 3 DNF'S. Thx to all the CO's for putting caches along here for us to find.
A quick find for this one although the nearby dogs certainly let everyone around know i was here! CIGC TFTC McAdies & Ed.

Parked geo van and made a quick walk to this cache which was found quickly. Last one for the day, thanks McAdies & Geo Eddie
On my way to Ballarat I had a bit of time up my sleeve so I figured a quick walk by was in order. Ruby waited for me on the road while I found this one. Much to my surprise it had a very cute lil cache guardian. Tftc
Decided that this was to be the last cache of the day as the ebike power meter was down to half capacity and i was too unfit to ride back in manual mode, lol. The next cache was 1.35 kms away so turned around so I could cruise home on epower.
TFTC McAdies & Geo_Eddie and Fergzter.
I have enjoyed doing these caches and hopefully some of the trail will still be there when i get back. A fav point for all of them.

Nice spot along here with the chocolate flowers flowering. In desperate times MrsG could almost eat these flowers . . . don't know if they're edible but how could something that smells that good not be ????? TFTC McAdies.
Cache zombified.
Nice quick find on a pleasant walk along the track. Cache in good order.

Catching up with logging, found this one in the Jan 2016. First cache with a Garmin Nuvi which replaced a defunct smartphone. TFTC
Out caching on a lovely day on the bikes. This is a great series. Thank you to all the people involved in the Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail.
TFTC. Found today with Jaggedwings and the GeoRetrievers. Made our way along the trail and found this one pretty quick.
Having enjoyed a day caching in the Enfield State Forest and surrounds with Wozzle68, it was getting towards the end of day and we needed to start heading towards Ballarat for a work dinner later on in the evening.
We've only done one short section of the BSRT so far, but Wozzle has nearly completed it and was only missing a couple around Haddon. So we tagged along for the walk to help him complete his series. It was a lovely clear autumn afternoon - ideal for a walk like this.
TFTC and for this section of rail trail McAdies.

I finally got around to signing this one, for ages it has been just this one and next one along toward ballarat that I hadn't found. Thanks for the hide McAdies the cache is in good condition.
12:15:00 PM. Out to complete more of this series. Walking and driving to different cross streets we are slowly getting there. Cache was in the open and log signed and recovered. Thanks McAdies for placing this cache.
The goal today was to go back to the start of the rail trail and try to get the caches we didn't try yesterday. It was a lovely day for caching, sunny but not too warm. We've been enjoying these caches and would like to thank the teams who've hidden them, thanks for the effort that's gone into it. Most were easy finds but a couple defeated us. TFTC
Heading over to Ballarat for a caching weekend and picking up a few caches on the way.
We managed to find about 230 caches in 3 days/ot bad work for 3 old guys
This series was why we came over to Ballarat.
We woke to a misty day and luckily it stayed overcast until we finished.
It was interesting to see the cache hides change as the hiders changed. We weren't fans of the bison tubes in the trees but that's the way it goes sometimes.
We missed a few but it didn't matter too much as there are lots more to find.
Thanks for an excellent series.

The 3FW's from SA have invaded Ballarat and headed for the BSRT. Find, sign, cycle, repeat... Saturday was a great day to be on the trail. Fog at the beginning and the sun just coming out at the end. We found all of the caches except two. One was missing and we left a replacement log. The other was just too good for us. You can't find them all.
Day 2 of our caching trip to Ballarat with Freddo and Team Waldron, we had an ejoyable ride along this trail finding the caches as we went, logs were signed 3FW to save space in the log books.TFTC
found this a bit ago can not remember the date. but I think I this is about it. thank you so much for the hide. we all love the trail

Quick find with Tassie expat while exploring this great area. Thanks for placing these caches.
Checking out part of the BSRT series today with our new geo-friend #geohulk (many thanks). We parked at convenient locations and did a section at a time. Along the way we had a good time.
Is this the twelfth cache? Really? Feels more like the 20th.
Mssrs COs, you hint is just too good!
Found at 2.00 pm on 25th September 2015. TFTC.

Whoa! 12degrees and sunshine we just had to head out on the GeoBikes. A long hard day which ultimately ended up very cold.
We had a great day along the trails and really enjoyed the peaceful surrounds. Not a great fan of the wind chill factor riding back to the car though. lol.
We managed to find your cache whilst out there! [^]
Thanks McAdies for feeding our GeoAddiction!

Decided to fill in a section of the rail trail, great to start with a , and off we go, geokid dressed as Captain America, geogranny with us (but forgot her walking stick lol) what a sight we must of looked. TFTC
Found by Mary & David at 1223. A great day on the BSRT at last. The views everywhere were just great, and the many information signs were fascinating. The ride took about 8½ hours, for 63 finds and 1 DNF. Our thanks to McAdies.
