Found It!After a DNF here last year, I came back today for another attempt. This time I found it after sticking my hand into the place you don't want to put your hand.TFTC
(4 of 5 today)Needed a few finds for the calendar today, so decided to clean up some caches in the Liverpool area. In the end I overachieved and got five finds. And of course, in the process I might have indulged in some retail therapy near my first find...###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Not sure why I hadn't gone for this one before. but when I arrived at GZ I had an inkling... OK I'll have to find a way there - and did. Longer than some younger or more sprightly cachers might have taken, but it got me there. And what did I get for all that effort? Well an immediate find in what I thought the logical spot, that's what! I guess unless you have some insight into the CO's deviousness this could have taken quite a while.Added my ink to the log, replaced and took the same way back out.Giving this one a favourite for the hide. and the fact that I'm only the 34th name on the physical log and this one is 11 years old! Oh, and the deviousness! SLTNLNTFTC
That was a hard find, had fun but did get a little concerned as the rain started to set in. Tftc

This is find number: 8561
Streak Day: 2736
Found Today with Snoopy1976, came back here today to avenge a DNF from years ago, this time in the daylight. Took us quite a while looking in all sorts of places until we found the right spot. Thanks
Thanks to Rainbow Spirit for placing and maintaining this cache.

Streak Day #3625 - Over this way with Dave8153 today, so we decided to have a looksee in Daylight as last time it was dark, took us a little while and upon almost giving up we made the find. TFTC
After searching for half an hour in the dark couldn't find the cache. Looked in every gap between rocks down by the corner of the lake but still unlucky. Owner may have to come check if its still there as it hasn't been found in a while.
Day One of our Caching Easter Trip
Together with Tankengine, Aquilus1 and Flintstone’s we traveling from Canberra to Port Macquarie. Today was more about collecting counties than numbers. And we collect a couple that were easy to get, saw some interesting things and got stuck in a few traffic jams. But all up a great day, especially at the end when we got to catch up with friends that night. We signed most log books as DFAT. Yes, we did notice many other variations of our initials.
This cache: It took a moment or two to decide which level we had to be on, but the boys did good and found the cache quick enough in the end. Tftc Rainbow Spirit!!!

Chooo ooo [found] - with Dty73, aquilus1 and Flintstone’s on our road trip up north! Cool hide! Thanks Rainbow Spirit!
Heading north with dty73, tankengine and Flintstone's to wait out the covid happenings and find out the fate of Qld and the daybro mega. A quick pull of from the slow traffic to search out a county find. A little concern it may be too hard but two up and two down and then the magic words! Yay!
Found on a road trip with Aquilus1, dty73 and Tankengine. A short detour to get to this cache with success at the end.
This one was a bit trickier than expected but with persistance, reading some logs to guide us we succeeded.

Well... Is it behind the fence on the rocks side or is it on the road side?!?! We just couldn't seem to find anything on our side and we could not get past the fence. This one has been very difficult.
Really? So I went over there, and looked in every place that made sense. I was about to give up when I looked again in a place I'd already looked at. Hang on, CIH! Well hidden. TFTC Rainbow Spirit
Found whilst cycling along the M7. Took a while to finally realise the cover. Nicely hidden. TFTC
Only after reading the last log that I had an idea on what to achieve CIH, Thanks rainbow spirit
This was our second attempt at this cache and almost another DNF. After looking at multiple levels we were about to give up after one last read through of some past logs. This sparked a vague memory of a spot that I had previously checked.. could that have been... Back over to have another look and some stick prodding and photo taking later I concluded it wasn't there. By this stage fearless Raby Roamer 2 had joined me and decided to just bite the bullet and stick her hand in where I was looking and miraculously out it came with a cache in it.. thank goodness. Tricky cache, well worth the difficulty level. Thanks for the challenge Rainbow Spirit. Glad to tick this one off the list.
Spectacular cache Rainbow Spirit! I enjoyed this search a lot. The coords and hint are spot on. Don’t overthink it and it’s yours.

Buddies: none

Weather: sunny
Cache condition: good
After realising our earlier mistake we quickly changed elevation and headed to GZ. There was some serious head scratching as the are heaps of possible hiding places. Reading the hint definitely helped us locate the guide. TFTC TNLNSL

Upon arrival at GZ found a ute had crashed through the fence and was lying on its side. We looked where GPSr was saying with no luck. After reading last log decided where we needed to look. But not for me today. Felt it was abit unsafe for me.
Heading out to do Fruit Trail today.

Located at 9:03am. (Re-Edit at 12:56pm - Completely glossed over the fact that this was 13 months unloved! Boom! My unloved months further accrue and this is the second unloved Rainbow Spirit cache that I have found!) How do you do it Rainbow Spirit!? Another very satisfying hide and find. This as well was a dnf avenged! I was travelling to see family in Campbelltown and couldn’t pass the opportunity to try this cache out again. Armed with some spiritual guidance, I once again descended into the depths and began my search. Something did seem a touch different and inspecting closer, I had CIH! Mazel Tov! Another favourite point for you, when I once again accrue another Спасибо! תודה! L’chaim! TFTC!
No luck with this one today. Had a decentish look in several locations, went over and under and down into the depths, plentiful hiding places abounding. Second time in one week have been poked in the eyes by wayward branches I shall return. L’chaim!
Out caching with oldmorty and frazeydaze.
Spent some time looking with no luck
Thanks

This looked a little difficult for me. Marj01 was quick to jump the fence and climb down the rock face. Oldmorty and I searched around the top. No success up top, so I decided to join marj01 for a search of the lower level. I made my way down via the other side as it looked a little safer. We searched everywhere but to no avail. Empty handed we climbed back up to join oldmorty and left it for another day.
After successffully completing the CO's fruit trail series it was off with frazeydaze and marj01 to attemp to find ten other caches owned by the CO. Of the ten caches we attempted, we found five and had five dnfs. Although we had a dnf TFTC Rainbow Spirit.
Out for a spot of night caching with team crudss (contactpete, cry05, ris768, dave8153, snoppy1976, spy79) but couldn't find it. It was cold and it doesn't seem to be easy at all during darkness. Will have to come back in daylight.
Out with Team CCRuDSS (ContactPete, CRY05, RIS768, Dave8153, Snoopy1976 and SPY79) tonight to complete the Fruit Trail Series. We attempted to find this in the early hours of the day but were unsuccessful after quite some time looking around from all angles. will need to come back in daylight hours and give it another go.
Out caching with little cricket and 007mushu on this very hot day. 007Mushu made the find. Great hide TFTC:)
Found with Lucky Cricket and Little Cricket, This one had me scratching my head for a while once we had discovered where GZ was a quick search had discovered it. Great hide TFTC
This was probably my 5th visit. I had extracted an extra clue from the CO after being the 10th DNFer but had had no success. This time with a different attitude (altitude?) I had the forehead slap moment when I spied one of the clues in a place I had only given a cursory glance at previously.
Unfortunately I had 3 DNFs after this but was happy to put this to rest.

8/09/16. 12:25 PM. Cache #4173.
2nd of 4 finds - Elizabeth Hills, Middleton Grange, Hoxton Park & Prestons.
After going "Up Here", it was time to come "Over Here". I realised that I hadn't attempted this one before. I read a few logs and saw that a few had considered the fence. Looking at the terrain rating I had other ideas. The journey to where I guessed was GZ was a little tricky, because of the way rocks jutted out at the wrong angles. The opposite corner was slightly better. To make matters worse, I couldn't put my phone in my pocket because my shorts were still wet from "Up Here", so I really only had one hand free.
I finally made my way across, and was temporarily distracted by a few new cache emails pinging off. I checked a few hidey holes and thought I'd been thorough enough, but still empty handed. I contacted the CO, who confirmed I was in the right place. I should have persisted in one of these places more, because this time I parted the camo and came up with the goods.
Woohoo, another tricky find! Signed the log and replaced it. Back to the car and my next target was "Under the Over" which took me a while to get to. TFTC.

A great day of caching in Sydney today. The weather was working with me well and my legs were not to sore from yesterday. Came in from Waterfall and via Heathcote and Liverpool ended up in Hoxwell Park and Cecil Hills. This was one of many caches, thanks for placing it! Maybe my most satisfying find of the day as I went in with the memory from last time and thought I had no options left, but I did!!

My 3rd visit for another DNF. I wonder if I am missing a point here, but being stubborn I will return soon and try again
My second DNF for this one. I had coaxed an extra clue out of the CO (see previous log) but found myself searching the same area. This time I rock climbed from the bottom as well but had no success. I will keep watch for another few months before having another crack at this one.
Almost 3 years ago the CO stated that if there were 20 DNFs he would give another hint. Guess what - my log in January was the 20th!! There has been a less than 50% success rate on this Grade 3 difficulty cache.
I know there is another hint in one of his notes. Is that the added hint? (I did follow that one)
I'll be looking for a return trip over the next 2 months and with no searchers since myself in January I have no extra comments to work off.
I'll leave it to your judgement RS.

After getting diagnosed with shingles in the scalp I thought what better way to get my mind off the discomfort than doing some caching. So I thought I'd do some mostly Rainbow Spirit caches which ranged from the ridiculous tosublime in difficulty (at least the order that I did them in anyway). 12 finds and one DNF.
My first and only DNF for the afternoon. I went over there and made use of the second hint, especially where there seemed to be some extra camo in an unnatural arrangement, but I had no success.

Well, I am lucky number 13 in the log for this one, which seems appropriate for such a tricky, bordering on evil, hide. Fortunately today wasn't anywhere near as hot and mozzie-infested as last time, but still I ended up covered in dirt and cobwebs, with twigs in my hair and a grazed knuckle. Finally made the grab and moved on to another previous DNF nearby. TFTC!
This one had us going every direction for some time and ended up calling for a hint from the CO, not only did we get a hint he decided to come and have a laugh at our expences, all ended well and duties done. We had a chat and our plans ron-day-voui to be the next one. Thank for your help.
We went to Helensburgh/Sutherland today... wow! Here are some very awesome caches! Thank you for this cache, really enjoyed finding this! (:
Gpsr kept saying you have to go "over there" not over here. Anyway after reading into the hint I had CIH. TFTC Rainbow Spirit.
First time looking here & success. Coords good & geodad had gloves. Took a while & geodad was heard to say "it's a needle in a haystack", but his determination paid off in the end . tftc xo
After racing to find 'Happy Halloween' and being third to find, Gambit817 and I decided to find this one, but we had no luck. We searched over here and over there, in every little crack and crevice but came out empty handed.
We will be back
We will be back
Too hot for too long a search at GZ. Might come back with gloves sometime for better poking about.. TFTC anyway!
Well I tried yesterday with my geo bros but again couldn't find this....... Zzzzz
Another DNF to ad to the list. Assuming the coords are correct, GZ was quit clear and although there are a few option I am sure I searched them all?

4 of 6 caches today. After having a lunch in a familiar country club on Devonshire Rd we returned back to do a few more caches in the area. We parked nearby and lowered ourselves to GZ. Not expecting a simple hide from this CO we looked for something different.. and found it soon! TFTC
Had a quick scout around for this one. No luck but there was a 3 metre Red Belly Black Snake looking for a place to get out of the heat down below in the storm water drain.
As there has been no cause of death reported for the deceased person, (found some distance away from this cache), I find the previous log very strange indeed!
Police have been warning people to stay indoors around this area, as a body was found just up past the school. Be safe and take extreme caution around this neighborhood!
I thought I ought to find this cache before the school starts up again.
My third time back, and I was determined.
Typical RS hide in the end.

Reading the previous logs this time geodad and I came back with gloves and determination. And so the search started. High. Low. In between. Geodad even used the broken barrier as a makeshift ladder. But after 40 minutes we still didn't have anything to show for our troubles. Then I heard something. A familiar cache like rattle. And there it was! And the hint made sense! I just hadn't made sense out of it! Ahhh. That was a fun and rewarding search. Thanks for yet another enjoyable cache hunt
Help me please I've been searching for days I've had my family looking and everything ! Rainbow spirit give me a good clue pleaseeeee
Started getting a bit itchy so I hadda give up! Didn't know how far into the scrub I hadda get or whether to look up or down or what was covering it. Second time looking for it today. Booo...
Went here twice today, Spent 2+ hours on my hands and knee's in the dirt to no avail.
Will come back with my crew.
RS. You have me stumped!

For me this one deserves it three stars. So many possibilities and again a location that refused to give me a reliable GZ.
Persistence paid off in the end with the courage of a gloved hand to help.
Thanks RS

Went to have a look for this one and saw the following damage which appeared to be GZ or very close so moved to another.
Would appreciate if the CO could confirm the area and the cache is safe

Looks like a cacher went berserk looking for the cache Close to GZ but no cigar. You can still look for the cache with or without the fence being in place. Happy hunting.
My GPSr pointed over here - I went over there, no good, then I went over there & now have a name in the log !
A pretty straight forward clue made a quick find, lovely work Rainbow Spirit.
I found a dead tortoise near GZ
A great hide & nice pond

+1 for an extra hint. Having looked at the terrain rating decided to go over the fence. I went low, geodad went high. But to no avail. Never mind! Had fun going through under the road.
Arr RS you nearly had me fooled but I turned up today with my caching eyes!!
This will be a little tricky for some,
nice hide,

was having a look just on dusk after attending an event cache at kiama today . when the muggels in blue stop and question me check my driver licence had to explain geocaching (they did not see the point) and told me to move on. will come back another day to finish looking
No luck for geodog and I today. Don't be insulted Rainbow Spirit, there have been many searchers judging by the current appearance of GZ. The expression 'no stone left unturned' comes to mind.
Drive past this most school days!! Had a look around the GZ zone, didn't attempt it as geokid had soccer boots on (on the way to a game). Have a better idea of what is required and will try again at a quieter time. Road was Very busy on Sat afternoon.
FTF – after attending the ANZAC Dawn Service at Camden it was off on an early start to try and find Rainbow Spirit’s newest caches. I did a drive by here yesterday afternoon but was not suitably attired for attempting this cache. My geo-wife and I reached GZ and started a thorough search of all the possible hiding spots. After 20mins I re-checked one location and sure enough there it was nicely concealed and containing an empty log book. What can I say Rainbow Spirit and rocks work well together
Hey Rainbow Spirit- my new one, very easy, near Blacktown, sat for four days till it was found first, with no attempts. So I know the feeling. I'm sure it will be found soon.
Saw that this hadn't been found yet so decided to have a look on my way home from work. Didn't really expect to find it as nobody else had in the last 6 days. Had a bit of a look around where GZ was indicated without going over the fence but didn't uncover anything cache-like.
I suspect that this one has been attempted, I saw subtle signs near GZ, but that those cachers decided not to log a DNF. I will log my DNF today. I searched both high and low and inspected both the natural and the man made. I'll try some others in the area to rebuild some confidence in my caching abilities and I might even return today. Who knows?
