Due to floods in the last few years, this cache has gone AWOL.
It was fun while it lasted. Thanks for visiting

This area is a swamp and without gumboots or a kayak, its not easy to wlk here. I got to 50m of GZ and abbandonned the trip, I wasn't interested in getting sticky sucky mud all over my self and not only is it sticky its also very very slippery trying to walk into this area. Not a pleasant spot. Maybe in a drought its more accessible,
Needed to be in Wollongong today, so might as well hit a few caches down there while I'm at it.
I should say I was disappointed in the number of caches in the rea I targeted that were AWOL (or at least had a number of recent DNFs. Was also disappointed in my ability to find all but the most obvious finds - two long DNFs were disappointing.
Still, found four and sprinkled in some ALs. Then off home so I could play with the Christmas tree.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
You would think I could find a 9 litre container. I mean really!
But a long search didn't come up with the goods, despite spotting a few likely hidey holes. Did find an empty 2 litre bucket, though.
Then the schoolkids turned up with their teacher for a fishing lesson. Took that as a hint it was time for me to move on.

Wet shoe rating is a 5/5. Lot’s of bush bitie bois but we made it in the end. TFTC
Bring your gum boots. Cache is in great condition with lots is “treasure” inside. Thank for setting up.
Very big container, lots of spiders. Good find in the bushes, good bush walk. Thanks
Dropped off a special traveler here, hope he finds his way on with some good people.
After visiting the nearby puckeys estate, I detoured over to try and pick up this cache. It was actually a nice walk through the bush, there were plenty of birds singing, and just for the moment you could swear you were out in the middle of a forest somewhere... It was also nice to finally see a bigger sized cache in the area, I will defiantly be returning in the near future to offload some trackable, thank you for the walk!
Nice cache! For its size very well hidden.
Picked up a couple of trackables to move on.
Wish I had a plastic bag to take some trash out. Future cachers maybe keep this in mind.

Cool little spot hidden a little bit better in the same spot thank you for the adventure️
Some nice tracks here but what a shame people need to dump their rubbish in places like this. Tftc, picked up TB that my friend Emilycamden dropped here a couple of months back!
Arrived here at the right time as the tide was low. Could be a bit more messy at high tide I expect. The cache was well hidden considering its size. Contents dry but full of junk. Why I dont know why.
Thanks xelanhoj for the cache.
Thanks xelanhoj for the cache.
Fairy Creek had backed up and got dammed. But the cache was easy to find once it drained. Contents are still damp. We traded some treasures too. TFTC
Not a regular park as we know it but great for a big caches. What amazed me was the water at the bottom of the cache container - I drained it as much as I could. Log book was still in the plastic bag and still dry. What a shame I had no swaps as you do not see this size cache frequently
Nice little walk, make sure to wear good shoes. Too bad it is a very polluted area with lots of plastic containers. Cool to find such a big cache! TFTC
TFTC, really nice to find such a big cache in the Illawarra full of so many goodies!
Phone service isn't great but you'll see a spot and think "that's a good spot for a cache" and it is indeed. Very well stocked looks of good treasure glad I brought along my good swaps to offer. Got this TINY SPOON!
Biggest most loot filled geocache I’ve ever seen, so close to town and in a beautiful place.
I only had the phone god which gave me a 49 meter search radius, so took a while but obviously placed in the end.
Cache in good order and stocked with loot, no trackables sadly because I am headed interstate soon and never played with one.
Thanks for this awesome cache.

What a monster cache and a first find for a borrowed geokid! Thanks for bringing us herd after a great visit to the science space.
Now for lunch at the beach.

A little bush bashing, sacrificing your shoes to the swamp and then you’ll find a large cache full of trinkets. TFTC. Happy International Geocaching Day!

found a good track in with all the flotsome and litter, but did find this large fellow.. which is rare.
Day 3: visiting the OzGeomuster event, traveling with StrangeTrousers and CBRChic , signed as Kayak Cachers stamp.
While picking of some of the Adventure lab locations we picked up some caches along the way
thanks xelanhoj

2nd Mega evet and first one away at the Oz Geomuster Mega at Cataract (the Gong). Highlight for today was the group visit to the “Dark Side of the Moon”. Most of the caching today was with my geo buddies mtrax and StrangeTrousers. Need to say a big thank you to StrangeTrousers for all the driving over the weekend and arranging the great accommodation for a group of us. Today was the third day of our Mega event and hightlights included Cully Long’s Puzzling seminar before heading out to go caching. ST would have mentioned the rainforest gullies – after the cold of Canberra it was so funny standing under plants that in Canberra were the size of pot plants and here they are bigger than me. We found some fun cachers got to enjoy the seaside ones and views near the water at the end of the day when parking was easier.

#5249 14th for today
Day three of the Oz Geomuster Mega at Cataract (the Gong). Caching with mtrax and CBRChic and various others. We started with Cully Long's Puzzling seminar and then headed out to grab some more of the Adventure series. Today we traveled around Wollongong proper grabbing some really cool caches. Some highlights were delving into temperate rainforest gullies and some wonderful sea-side caches,

I love an alternative approach to urban caching, and this definitely ticks that box. Immediately popped on my radar due to size, was pucked up after a short walk in between stops at lab caches during the wollongong mega.
Found on my adventure to the 2019 OzGeoMuster in Wollongong. A few crazy long days of caching working my way through a huge number of towns en route from Geelong to Wollongong and back, a different route each way leading to different caches, different CO’s and different vista’s, all enjoyable. We targeted caches with a number of goals in mind. Jasmer months, D/T loops and LGA’s were high on the agenda, with priority also given to virtuals, large caches and whereigo’s.
Thanks to xelanhoj for placing this Large Traditional cache for us to find. This is find 1344 for BFMC.

Little bit difficult to reach as the path was flooded. Otherwise a good find. First large of ours.
Visiting friends for a few days and doing a bit of caching as well. This one was on my Must Find list mainly due to the D/T rating which I needed for a Challenge Cache and it was most satisfying to find it! And a large to add to my stats as well. Pleasant walk in and out, took TB, many thanks for placing.
Currently nursing an infected finger from an asparagus fern thorn, I wasn't too happy to find a lot of it at GZ. Thankfully we managed to locate the cache without further injury.

Huge cache hidden in the bush. Poor MrD was concerned he might suffer another life-threatening finger injury, so I led the expedition with my machete to create a path for him. Quick find at GZ. TFTC
Oh, I love finding a large container! And in such a beautiful location! Thanks for the fun xelanhoj.
Thanks so much!!! This was our first ever cache!! Got our feet wet... literally.
Great big cache & stuffed full of goodies. Glad no one around to hear me squeal when I opened it lol. I had a great walk picking up caches in this area today, beautiful winters day. TFTC.
A wonderful find with the geo family. Toddler loved finding treasure!!! Very happy shes now big enough (3yrs) to get excited about caching! Left crayons and took eyeball!Tftc!!
Large caches are rare! With less than 60 of them from over 4,700 finds it is obvious why this one made it onto my must-do list for today! Given that it was a short and quick walk from the road was also a positive factor!
"Real" Large caches are even rarer, and this was one of them! Now that is a Large for sure
I parked on the dirt next to the pipe over the water and GZ was only 100m away! Can't get much better than that. A small detour around the water and I soon had the bucket in hand.
Full of cool swag too, awesome!
Thanks xelanhoj!
My last cache before heading into Sydney

Have driven past this one so many times and decided today would be the day I’d claim that smiley. Will admit it took a lot longer to find this then it probably should have, with GPS in hand I stupidly followed my phone. After switching to GPS I was soon off in the right direction, a quick bush bash and I was at GZ, another red face moment when I saw an easier entrance. Lovely sized cache with some interesting swag, took a cute rubber ducky (who I’ll take on a journey to leave at another cache) and left a few smaller swag.

Had to do a large bypass of the swampy area. Possibly the largest collection of swaps I have every seen in an urban cache. TFTC
I'm sure every one has a story to tell, including this scary guy. I've given cache a tidy and put in heaps of swag. And a pen. I've taken a book and some swaps.
Fave point for scarying me when i first opened it. I'm visit from Sydney.. lush n green here. Unlike my house .. concrete jungle.

A nice little walk into the bush, with our bikes. Our etrex went into Personal Training mode and had us walking all over the place. Just as we thought of DNFing, we had one last look around,and.... managed to see it. A good hide. Very well stocked with goodies for young cachers. TFTC
Found after a heads-up from an out-of-towner during today's CITO event.
Great cache! Thanks xelanhoj
Great cache! Thanks xelanhoj
Now that's old school and awesome.! Caching circa 2002 how it should be. No nozzles today. Too dry. Well worth the walk from my hotel and a favourite point from me! Thanks.

What a fantastic cache! We were looking around gz for about 5mins before finding it in its great hiding spot.
The geokids had a ball going through the contents
Unfortunately we didn't see the trackable in there though.
After everything was put back inside we put it back as found and went off to find the next one on the list

Next on this evening's pre-dinner walk brought me to this one. 'Take a walk along the path' it says - holy cow, that's a path?! Anyhoo, after finally negotiating my way to GZ, it took a moment or two before Upoj settled down and not long after, I was signing the log at 17:05. Great to see a big boy - it reminded me of the early days of geocaching.
Now to find my way back to civilisation.
TNLNSL. Thanks xelanhoj.

Found it, dropped 3 trackables from the USA, 2 of which I have picked up in Norway

Just a tip, take your shoes off to walk across the wet muddy ground and carry them across as the ground on the other side is covered in spikey weeds.

Found this sneaky cache hidden in a truly classic way. Yep, it was as big as they say. TFTC
Found it - wear boots it's muddy (and hasn't been raining). Careful of spiders and other creepy crawlies
TFTC
Braved the mud, the slush but the Mozzies almost carried me away... good size cache and I had fun Periscoping my adventure.
Cheers

Biggest one I've ever found. There needs to be more massive ones hidden I reckon. Thanks
Thankfully didnt get wet and scared a poor lizard from the cache but soon had it in hand. Nice big size and left a TB
