A weekend in Sorrento on the cusp ofthe Covid-19 shutdown...out for a stroll and enjoying the history of this beach side village / playground. A very clever hide...and a fav point. TFTC
After having had a closer look at the pier and taking some photos, I looked for this cache.
I followed the path and was really surprised: What a nice historic place and what a lovely view!
Then I looked for the cache and it turned out to be really tricky! But then a certain point fell into my eyes. - What a nice, tricky idea!
This one was definitively the nicest cache I could find today, and therefore I love to leave a blue heart here in the box.
And a TFTC

Last find on eastern side of bay before catching ferry...beautiful spot and loved the history. A favourite pt for a great location.
Loved wandering around this area and seeing the old photos before heading down to pay the ferryman and continue on our adventure.

Last find before boarding the ferry. I had visited the area on a previous occasion but didn’t make it up to here. This time we had a bit more time before we needed to board. The history on the trains was great to read. Thank you for bringing us to this area by hiding a cache here BorisB&Natasha
Geo mum sneakes off while the kindi group has a beach play.
All these years on the peninsula and I can't believe I have never been here! Thank you guys for bringing me to this awesome spot!
Cache was found quickly, like all of the bay trail series a real goodie! Cheers!

The Mr of theashleys7 was over on the Mornington Peninsula for a business trip from Geelong and had bit of spare time before boarding the return ferry so he wandered around to look for a nearby cache. Easy find & nice camo, TFTC!
Great to be out here the day is glorious and the view is amazing thanks for placing
Bailed from Sorrento hotel because it was much too noisy and went geocaching with the geoGF

Victoria Day 3: Mornington Peninsula
Drove down to the Mornington Peninsula today for some Vanilla Slices, good views and some caching. We started off at Brighton, and then headed up towards Arthur’s Seat, before having lunch in Sorrento. Capped off the visit with a trip to London Bridge and Diamond Bay Beach. Collected quite a few caches in some amazing locations today, too. Thanks for all the fun and views!
This is the specific log for this cache:
Nice place for a cache though there a slight bit of a hike to the GZ and started off at the wrong level initially. I was confused by the disjunct between the cache type and the hint, but it all became clear when I found the cache. Interesting construction here. TFTC!

Found by Mary and David, in company with pprass and Alansee, at 13:40. Signed as MAP (Maccamob, Alansee, Pprass). Our second day on the Bay Trail. Much better weather today, having only one very brief period with a few spots of rain. Still quite windy, but we had a good run with all the BTR and BTU caches finished, and a few other caches added for good measure. As happened yesterday, quite a few of the caches took us quite a while to find, but we seemed to do better as the time passed. Great view of the ferry docking from this vantage point. Our thanks to BorisB&Natasha.
Found at 1:43 PM GAFF1 in the company of maccamob & Alansee.
A great location to finish off this part of the series. We observed the ferry docking in strong winds - I think they have done that a few times before!
Thanks BorisB&Natasha

Had a great caching day today with pprass and maccamob. We found everything today that we could have and only had one real PAF. It was a combination of great hides, some good finding, and sheer persistence! We split up here, two going up and one going down. One party got there first.
Great views TFTC out with roaming Howie and kristy's adventures Rob not enjoying himself poor Robbie
Out on day #2 of a caching blitz in this beautiful weather with AdrianB and Kristy’s Adventures. We made it to sorrento. Thanks for all the caches!!!
I was back down the peninsula today to try a few more of the Bay Trail caches. Always a fun mixed experience of appreciation for great hides and frustration of the ones that are just to good for me. This was next on my list heading from the west and I parked in the ferry car park which meant I had a zig zag walk up the hill to get to this one. The benefit was I got to pass the tram and station info before heading on to GZ. Nice camo here but I made a quick find. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and a great series in a lovely part of the world BorisB&Natasha and Nut bear.
Another awesome find. Absolutely love the creativity with these hides you guys. Thank you for putting it together for all of us!
I picked our friends up at the airport who were travelling over from Sydney and headed down the Mornington Peninsula for a fun weekend break. We got an Airbnb in St. Andrews Beach and thought we would explore the area.
the weather was great a little breezy but the sun was shining so a great day to explore and find some caches.
Over the weekend I found 12 caches and one did not find
This morning we headed ton Sorrento and grabbed a few caches along the beach. This took a few minutes to get to the right elevation and not initially where i thought it would be, but the clue made it an easy find.
Thanks for the cache and the hide

On holidays from Cairns and about to jump on the ferry stopped and done this little beauty, loved the camo and loved the view a fav from me. Found with Cache Mumma Jules and me bro Brett
Clever cache, stunning view, dam cold. Found with MonkeyMann007 at the beginning of our caching adventure to Queenscliff
Tried last night in the dark and failed - better luck today and once we went higher. The clues definitely helped. The kids LOVED the camo. Well done
I like finding caches, but I am terrible at logging them promptly. Having been in the vicinity of this cache many times, I'd always assumed it was somewhere around the ferry terminal, so I became confused over where I was heading. Took the path up the hill and voila, I hadn't realised Sorrento had a train station... who knew?! How have I never been to this spot? Found a well disguised cache and quickly signed before any muggles showed up. Such a great spot! A favourite from me. Thanks for bringing me here.
#16008. Robmc and I are spending a couple of days down here at Portsea . The Morris arrived to join us yesterday and today we are riding from Portsea to Sorrento and gathering up some of the BTR and BTU series. A lot of hard work before and after a pleasant lunch at Sorrento watching the ferry arrive and depart on a smooth millpond today.
I had a good read of the plaque and the history of the area and watched as the ferry disgorged a load of cars. Then off to search for the cache and a sneakily camouflaged container was found. A nicely set out historic area of the town.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha

Day two with The Morris and BettyBoo3747 in Portsea. We all jumped upon our deadly treadlies and headed off to do some of the BTR and BTU trails. Lunch in Sorrento, then a few odd caches later in the day. Beautiful weather.
Not sure who designed the foot/bike path, but it goes all over the place along this coastline.
I never knew this was here (not the cache). It was quite fascinating.
Lots happening down below with the ferry.
Thanks, Robmc.

We headed down to Portsea for a weekend of caching and cycling with Robmc and BettyBoo3747.
Today we headed from our accommodation in the other direction to tackle the bay trail towards Sorrento.
The fellas headed up the hill to find this one and then even further up again.
Thanks for contributing to the fun BorisB&Natasha

Down for a holiday with the family and decided to grab a cache nearby. 11 year old daughter found it. TFTC. Great view!!
#582 @ 1030. Nice cache. In the area today and noted this one near by. Great location and nicely constructed container. SL TFTC
Took a trip over to the peninsula today and grabbed a few caches while here.
We managed to park nearby and cache found very quickly - another well camoed container

I found the cache while muggle husband read all about the little train line. Good for both of us.
After absorbing the nearby history we strolled along the paths slow enough for the muggles in front to disappeared out of sight. With the coast now clear I approached GZ to make the find while Kat stood watch for any new muggles approaching. after adding our name I returned the cache exactly as it was found and we continued on our walk. TNLNSL. TFTC. KKams
Found this afternoon while waiting for the ferry to return to St Leonard's. Very clever cache, log was damp but ok, very good considering the rain we had yesterday.
Discovered this one a few days ago, back today with some friends and a pen!!! Nice walk and views, TFTC
Great camo but still an easy enough find. Good to see the site's from a different angle.
In Sorrento on a golfing trip but had to make time to search for a couple of caches. TFTC
The different heights always suck me in but when I was looking in the right spot we made the find straight away. Favourite logged.
Visit Portsea/ Sorrento to catch up some caches on my day off. Love the weather. Had lunch at Sorrento cafe then came here and found it. Thanks for placing the cache

I enjoyed a nice walk on some more of the Bay Trail with my daughter. Well this was a fun bit of train track going nowhere and a bit of a history lesson too. TFTC
A bit of a trek to get this one, took a few wrong turns, but got there in the end. Never knew this railway was here fascinating stuff!
Nice views. Lucky enough to see the ferry depart. Another favourite coming for this. TFTC.
Out for the day with jcody, and finding a few caches. Found during a pre-lunch stroll.
Individual bit: The ferry was boarding its passengers as we were at this cache! A very nice was to spend a sunny afternoon watching all the people strolling around in an extremely relaxed atmosphere. Geoboy was quite interested in the goings on.
Generic Bit:
We’re out today trying to finally finish off our hidden creatures souvenirs and get that turtle. The weather was absolutely stunning today (in our opinion anyway), sunny and cool, great for walking a long way. Each cache found was beautifully crafted, clean and most with brand new log books. A big thank you to BorisB&Natasha & Nutbear for all these placements!

One last cache for the day and it’s almost dark. This would be the 20th for me and 21st for Wal-Len for the day. Unfortunately when she opened the container the log jumped over the fence and out of reach! I have a slightly longer reach than her and with the help of a found stick I was just able to reach the little bit of paper and drag it to the fence. It then took several attempts to drag it far enough up the fence when Len could grab it through the fence. Needless to say I held on to it very firmly while signing went on and replaced it back into the container. An adventure we really didn’t need at this stage of the day!
Found with Surefoot24 when I went one way she went another. Unfortunately I dropped the log on the wrong side of the fence but after some considerable time, SF managed to get it to within finger reach. TFTC

One of many caches found today in the name of discovering Hidden Creatures. Very quickly we discovered that returning to The Greatest Series On The Mornington Peninsula posed the problem that there aren't enough favourite points to go around, so instead you get our eternal love and appreciation along with a decent log when we can. ~ Brainiac03

---
The first thing we noticed was the exceptional camo - it blended in wonderfully. I would suggest going against the words of Mr De Burgh and paying the cost of the ferry to avoid a fairly large fee! Thanks for placing one here, lovely area!

Away for the weekend catching up with my Naval son and taking the opportunity to grab a few caches while down in the area. We had stayed nearby in our motorhome, so while the geo teens slept on, muggle hubby and myself went for a walk to grab some caches and take in some of this lovely coastal area.
Wandered up to this one and enjoyed finding a well camoed container. The views from here were great this morning.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha for bringing us here and placing the cache for us to find.

This is another example of geocaching bringing me places I wouldn't have otherwise known about. We walked the bikes carefully and then realised where we needed to be, and I heard OHC say "found it". Then we got to see the ferry reversing in.
Had no idea about the tramway. The things you discover.
Thanks BorisB&Natasha & Nut bear.
