Lovely Sunday drive - even tho is is only Saturday morning! Out with muggle sister, showing here the back way into the Granite Belt.
We had already started the Pike series a few weeks ago, so started at #7
Finally today, we found our first find. Sad isn't it! Good hide, found by Mr D, who told me it was a clever hide.
Thanks shadows

I found this geocache on a mystical journey from South Australia, through Victoria, New South Wales and back again.
I did log all of the caches on my handheld GPS however some of the logs did not sychronise properly so I apologise for the generic log on these caches, which are the ones that didn't log proprly from my GPS.
I had a fantastic journey and thank you for placing and maintaining your geocache or earthcache for visitors like me.

I have just had the best weekend caching around the Warwick, Summit and Stanthorpe areas. With caching buddies (geonayfee, Willis007 and Triple Turmoil) for the weekend we got in a very large number of caches, completing the apple geoart, the fruit run and a few other special caches along the way. I had a fantastic weekend with lots of laughs and funny events it just made for a fun time; the puzzle solving in the lead up to the weekend was great also.
A big thanks to all the CO’s of the caches along the way; for placing and maintaining the caches for us to enjoy. Visiting this area and seeing places I would never see in a normal trip here was enlightening, so again thanks.
In the weekend I got around 180 caches so firstly apologies for the generic part to the log, I do not remember all specifically but some did stand out so I will add a little to those in my posts.
A nice series of caches.

I was invited to join Chamad, TripleTurmoil and Willis007 for an epic Geocaching adventure on the Granite Belt and surrounding areas. Our morning started bright an early at Warwick (For some good ole caffeine goodness) and slowly but surely we made our way south towards Stanthorpe while grabbing MANY caches on the way.
The main goal for the weekend was to complete the Stanthorpe GeoArt and sign a couple of the challenge caches. We had a wonderful yet tiring day, we did plenty of driving and visited several locations I haven't been to before
Thank you to each and every CO for places caches at these location. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had a blast. We'll certainly enjoy our sleep tonight.
Signed as Twocans
Apologies for the copy pasting crap.

After meeting Willis007 and Chamad at a previous event over New Years, they invited me to join them on an epic geoart mission at Stanthorpe. After weeks of puzzling and planning, today was the day (together with Nayfee). We covered a lot of mileage, had a lot of laughs and learnt a lot along the way.
Between Warwick and Stanthorpe there are a LOT of caches to sign and we did a pretty good job of getting every single one we could - signed as Twocan to save 25 seconds of signing at each cache, as we had work to do!

Heading out to Stanthorpe this weekend to grab some of the wonderful caches on offer out here. Our group of Triple Turmoil, CHAMAD and NayFee signed logs as team TWOCAN.
An easy find at gz today.

We had timed the last day of our holiday beautifully. There were only a couple of caches left and some local wine back at our unit chilled and primed. With our chosen method of sleeping in through the cold, everything had worked out perfectly. The sun was out and we were living life largely. The weight scales at would confirm out theory. tftc
Out on an adventure looking for geocaches in the Warwick area with my amazing Geo-Wife KaleidoscopeCass, this was one of a few that we managed to turn into a smiley, thanks for the cache!!
Pike, pikelet, pancakes...

Love this little series. Love exploring the granite belt and caches are an added bonus. Especially as so many of them point out the awesome formations to us. Lovely baby grass tree near by. Thanks for this series. It has been a beautiful drive.
Scared the crappers out of geo hubby when he was pokin around. Lol. Tftc and a giggle 2 shadows
Tftc 2 Shadows, we are getting good at jumping in & out of the car. We had a bit of a hunt for this one but Found in good order.
GZ brought us to the exact location. Nice! It was where we thought it should be hiding.

Away for the weekend with tough mother's to clear up the area. Its been awesome thanks for all the caches.
TFTC... 30/9/17. On the hunt in unfamiliar territory with Tough Mothers. Lots of smileys on offer, this is one of them.
We're definitely in cattle country, so many of our finds today were done so under the watchful eyes of a bovine audience. Cache in good condition, tnsl tftc 2s xo
I headed down today to find a big bunch of caches and this one was included.

This morning we started caching at the junction of the Newell Highway and Pikedale Road and during the day, we gradually worked our way south into Palgrave Road, Loloma Road and Mount Janet Road. We started at about 8:45am and finished the caches on our list as the sun set. We enjoyed the variety of caches and the scenery along the way.
Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks 2 Shadows for the cache and others you have placed in the area.

Yeehaw, time to get out on the dirt roads of Stanthorpe and pick up some caches. We have had our eyes on this power trail for some time and today is the day. Lots of long grass trodden through, boulders climbed, stabbed by sticks, slips and slides all the geo-caching fun
Along the way we managed to pick up a few letters we needed for animal names for another challenge cache we are trying to complete.
Thanks for all the caches out here on the dirt roads of Stanthorpe.

Today SONQLD and I decided we would tackle some of these caches. Meeting in warwick SONQLD's bike was a bit older and a little less fairer then we first thought. After all this bike is OLD after having many adventures together. The tyres did amazing to hold up to the challenge of the day only as time progressed they did deflate a little.
The first thought of the day was to aim for 50 but as time progressed I realized we had a real option of going for 100. So with sums done and realizing once we had done a circuit we worked out we still needed a few. We counted 102 for the day, about 87 on the mtbikes and then the remaining would be done in the car on the way out. Anawesome day in the country side although it was windy and cold every day spent caching is a great day! TFTC
PS SORRY FOR THE GENERIC LOG

Had a fantastic day out with my husband as we left the kids at home for the sole purpose of me being able to pick up my largest number of caches in a day. The day didn't go quite to plan due to the large volume of water making us not to confident to drive along the soft sided road. However we saw some amazing animals along the way including two snakes, thankfully the red belly black snake was dead. I particular enjoyed the animal series, but appreciate all cache owners for placing and maintaining these for the geocaching community. I apologise for the generic log.
Tftc. This is a late log. Went on a caching trip back on August 28/29 2016. Did over 350 caches over the weekend and only managed to log the rest of it now. The girls took me out for a bday weekend caching. Found with chasing adventures and Thehinds of the Triple threat crew
Day 2
A wonderful weekend away in Stanthorpe resulting in 374 finds, including 22 mystery (Stanthorpe Apple) and 1 Earthe cache. I hoped to log each individually as I usually would but the tyranny of time prevents me from continuing to try and achieve this goal. A big thank you to all the Stanthorpe CO's. We said many times we wish we had more consolidated trails in Brisbane. TFTC

WillPunkey 7, the 2 yr old and I set off from Toowoomba for an afternoon of caching, the aim was to complete a some of the power trail that StephLego, the kids and I started a few months ago. Both kids loved the afternoon and made some swaps along the way.
Some of the caches were challenging but with the help of WillPunkeys young eyes we ended up finding all that we attempted along the trail. Even with the toddler tagging along we made good progress, completing 45 caches in around 3.5 hours before we headed back to the Hwy to grab some more.
Took a little longer than the others but WillPunkey spotted it. TFTC

We set aside today to challenge ourselves to find at least 150 caches in a day. Before last Mega in Stanthorpe, we had cleared the middle section of the AS Series, so this challenge meant starting at the bottom, then later moving to the top section, then back down the highway towards Stanthorpe until our target was reached. Apologies for this generic log: unless noted below the caches were in good order and available for future hunters - in some cases this meant stopping awhile longer to replace a log, and/or clean out the cache.
Found at 12:40am on 8th December, 2015. TFTC.

I had driven down from Brisbane for a quick day out caching. The idea to grab as many as i can along the power trails here. The day turned into a mission, with my GPS deciding to impersonate a brick, leaving me to use the phone, so lots of missed caches and backtracking. Great day out, lots of caches, sun, Kangaroos, sun, other flora, sun and more caches. Thanks for putting in the trail.
I was spending the weekend in Warwick and decided that it was about time that I found a few more of the power trails around here. I had a couple of hours and headed out solo and found 32 in a couple of hours
The trouble is trying to remember individual caches when you do power trails.
Thanks for putting out these caches for our enjoyment.

We will apologise right from the start for the generic logs. We came up from Victoria to the area to enjoy the sunshine and the Tara Festival and decided to find some of the Caches on these power trails. Thanks and well done 2 shadows.
We travelled down from brisbane to Tenterfield today to sign the log for the "Average Challenge". Not ones to let an opportunity go to waste, we spent the balance of the day finding some great caches in the Stanthorpe area we missed during the Mega. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache 2 shadows
Found on an outing with Geoson. TFTC and congratulations for the effort put into this cache.
A target of 200 finds for the day meant an early start so we were up at 3:30am. Crookedpete, Seffnjarah and I got to our first cache by 4:25 on the A.S trail. We finished the day after 11 hours of caching with some interesting Stats:
270 finds including all of the A.S. Trail
3 DNF’s (Due to grading of the roadside that has taken a few trees away)
2 finds with three DNF’s on them before us (they are always nice to get!)
1Challenge puzzle completed.
My 2000th find somewhere along the way (but I don’t actually know which one)
And my favourite stat: 39 finds in 60 minutes – boy did we hoof it! Fun, Fun Fun!
Now for the caveat, as I know my partners in crime will no doubt mention in their logs, I did not manage to get to look for every cache! Well actually very few……ok….I only actually found 2 myself. You see I was the designated driver for the day. After some knee surgery 4 weeks ago, and only starting weight bearing again 2 days prior, the plan was hatched that I would happily drive for the day if my friends would add my name to the caches as we found them. They tell me that they did actually put my name in the log, but I am dubious.
I swear I will never attempt another power trail, as they are simply not my thing….but I am glad I have done it once so my thanks to the CO’s for their efforts. That must be a lot of work to maintain!
Thanks also to my partners in crime – sterling effort!

I have wanted to take a crack at a power trail for a while. My crazy companions today, SwellerFungus and SeffnJarah were really only lukewarm on the idea. But then a knee operation sidelined Fungus and he hit upon the idea of a power trail road trip, where he did the driving and Seff and I did all the hard work finding the caches .....as always.
An early start on a brisk Stanthorpe morning had the first cache in hand in the dark at 04:23. With a couple of hours break for lunch and 11 hours on the trail, I finished up before dark with 277 finds and 3 DNF's. A good dozen or so caches along the way really tested our finding abilities (ie Fungus actually stopped the car engine and joined the search) - mostly where overzealous road works had changed the landscape.
Highlights of the day included seeing the sun rise (and later set) over a foggy valley, finishing the entire A.S. Series in a day, signing a cache every 1 min 33 seconds to grab a huge 39 in an hour and mostly the endless banter and leg pulling with my companions (power trails would be dull without it!).
Many thanks to all the cache owners for their efforts in placing and maintaining this huge trail of caches, and particularly thanks to 2 shadows for placing and maintaining this cache.

We decided to head over here from Perth WA as the weather is still nice and warm . Decided to head out and hit some power trails ... We manage to find 91 caches with two DNF,s in 6 hours . Most caches were found with out to much searching ..... TFTC
