Looked in and around the big tree. Removed some debris at the base of the hollow. Still could not find it. Might be missing.

I was scratching around for a plan last night to help in my quest for a twenty eight day streak this month. I was checking out my statistics and noticed that i wasnt all that far off the 360 degrees challenge so decided to put together a list of caches to complete it. I am tackling that list today with what may end up being a bit of an epic tour. This morning i got up way before i usually do, packed drinks and snacks, geopooch and tott, and got underway. Wish me luck!

Like the last seeker i had a good scratch around looking for this one but came up empty handed, i think it may need a CO check.

26-Mar-23
Cleared the bottom of that hollow nicely. Found nothing

Out finding caches this weekend with @the4wdshed and @smithiesoutbackgear.
Cheers for the cache

*found a few weekends ago but haven't gotten round to logging some of them*

Quick easy find
This trail has been on our radar for a while, this weekend was a perfect chance to get out and get it done with @Smithies Outback and @Searchingformacca and a chance to go camping and sit around a camp fire with great friends. Tftc

Out caching for a second day up at Mt Disa with The4wdShed and searchingformacca. Quite a few caches in this area to add to our finds. Great area, Quick find. TFTC

We headed up here from Reedy Creek Rd via Peel Rd which, according to the signage, access is limited to fire and 4WD vehicles. Lucky I had a 4WD although the climb wasn't much of a challenge although it did let me check out my new rear diff elocker a little bit.

After a short search I spotted the cache tucked away and while I have long arms they're *not that long* so to retrieve the cache I needed to squeeze into the tree hollow before I could grab it.

And yes, the views are really good - great even had the haze from the dark winter clouds in the distance not obscured the view.

Yes, it's certainly is a good spot for a cache, we didn't really need the GPS as it was obvious where it would be, took a bit of retrieving though, although hazy the view it was still good.

01-Jul-20
Teamed up with CorianderConnected during the school holidays with 3 kids in the back, and managed to squeeze in the 2 Geodogs (Minks & Poppy) as well. Packed lunch, thermos and eski – we were set for the day. It was an awesome day that we had been looking forward to for months – sunny with a cool breeze, racing from spot to spot. We headed out to pickup a DNF from last trip, finish off the fantastic 325 caches for this powertrail, and a few more around Reedy Creek too. Ended up needing to do a bit of steep 4WDriving so it tested out the new car and the nerves of some of the passengers. Tally for the day was 31 finds and 1 DNF (prob MIA).

Found at 1:00pm by all the gang.Time for lunch with some nice sunny views.

My first find in Australia! Yay! A lovely view and a quick find! A little help from my muggle sister, an Australian resident, to retrieve it as I was a little wary of sticking my hand in somewhere where some form of lethal local wildlife might be hiding! thanks for the cache and greetings from the uk

Found after completing some areas of Mt Disappointment. The cache was open in its hiding place with logbook, lid and container all separate. We put it all back where it belongs.
Fun hill to drive up, lucky we are in a 4wd today, I dont think my little corolla would have made it.

Some bright spark noticed that Peel Road ran from Reedy Creek Road to this cache's location Smile
So off I headed along Peel Road past a few houses in the valley until a sign warned "4WD only" Razz
How bad could it be ??

Past that sign the road became a gravelly track that took a definite uphill attitude.
And the further up the hill I drove,
the steeper the track got !! [:o]

Then suddenly I was at the top of the hill and the road became a road again past the houses Smile
I was soon at GZ to enjoy the views west and a quick cache find Big Grin

So don't approach or leave this cache via Peel Road unless you have a bit of experience driving your 4WD Razz

05-Jan-19
A much cooler day after the scorcher of 43degrees yesterday, giving us a chance to enjoy a full day of caching in the Mt Disappointment area. The weather stayed fine and a cool 15 degrees until the rain set in as we neared the end of the Mt Disappointment Driving Lesson Series. Needless to say the views were a disappointment with low cloud obstructing them. This was one of the extra caches we found as we made our way off Mt Disappointment. SL at 1.32pm and found that the temperature had dropped down to 13 degrees! #5889 TFTC MUZZDAWG11

18-Nov-18
Thought we would be able to duck across from our last Mt Dissappointment cache to this one, only to find that whilst my 4wd would make it, it was a precarious trip for the 2wd. So extracting ourselves from that trail, we took the loong way around to this one. TFTC

Down in Melbourne for the Parkville Mega. After a detour to Geelong for a wedding yesterday I am back for some caching fun today! Travelling with Minniek, fitzy_1965, B0tmun, Lovetherabbitohs, death killer & my_name_jeff_1 & sneakysquirrel3326 out to Mt Disappointment with a few little extras to get me mine and sneakysquirral3326’s first 100 in a day! And I reached my 2000th cache - what a day! Tftc.

Road trip to Melbourne for the Parkville Mega with fitzy_1965 and my 4 geokids, B0tmun, Lovetherabbitohs, death killer & my_name_jeff_1 (signed kids a 4GKs).

Day 3 saw us convoying with nibletricecakes & sneakysquirrel3326 out to Mt Disappointment. Fitzy_1965 wanted to pick up the newer sections of the series and we picked up a few more inbetween. Quick finds at all caches today......although hayfever set in quite badly for me Sad

17,049. Found during the Parkville Mega trip down south with minniek.

Its Mega time ! Headed out for another full days caching with minniek and Nibletricecakes. Today we decided to do a portion of the Mount Disappointment series. I had previously done numbers 1-250 back in Aug 16, so it was great to be back to do the 'new' sections. After finihing off 251-325 we meandered around grabbing a few more. This was the next one along the way. Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and then headed off to the next one.

Thanks MUZZDAWG11 !!

TFTC. We had planned a big day of caching with friends Muff1. Our aim was to complete as much as possible of the Mt Dissappointment trail. In general all of the caches were quickly to hand and signed. We attempted to do as many as possible without having to double back on ourselves.
After finding 325 we decided to do a detour off the track to attempt this cache. Magnificent views to be had from here.

Today we are out with Hans and Linda attempting the Dad's Driving Lessons and picking up a few other caches as we go, this was one of the others. Great views. SL TFTC

An early start yesterday with Trailstevo to do a few events. Up at 5.20am and off we set for Lancefield to do the 5km Parkrun, picked up a few drive-by cache on the way before hand. Nice to meet a few of the locals at park run, a nice bunch, and then headed to the local bakery after for a Cappuccino and bacon and egg roll. After downing it we head for mount disappointment collecting a few cache on the way, and a DNF at on of the local old mines, and then the last 15 we needed on the power trail. Took the long way around in a few spots as i wasn't too impressed with some of the trails and risk of damaging the car. Eventually headed to the event an met a few of the geopeople I know, collected Melbourne 1st and enjoyed some stunning view. Thanks for all the hides everyone. We have a fun day out. TFTC

Out on the hunt for some Mt Dissa fun & maybe to boost our souvenir count just a little. Of course being in a 4WD the Chief had to come on the fun road and scare the absolute poop out of me....ah but those views!
Thanks for placing Dissa's Views so we could find it. Many thanks MUZZDAWG11 for the caching fun.

This cache was found as we were on our way back after finishing the Mount Disappointment Driving Lesson run. There were very good views today ........... of rain clouds. Otherwise the cache was found to be in good condition and was hidden again in its proper place after our name was noted on the log. Well the Garmin certainly led us on a merry chase to get here. It sent us the most circuitous route, after several dead ends, and roads that no longer go anywhere because they are blocked off. dalerious eventually drove up a very rocky track that not only shook any dirt off the bottom of his vehicle, it certainly shook my bones up a bit as well.
Having said that, the cache and the view was well worth the trip, so thankyou for placing it there, and showing us this amazing scenery.
Of course when we arrived here we found the good track we should have come in on. With two choices once again we took the wrong one and ended up at another No Through Road.
Finally headed back down our only other option and left Mt Dissa behind...... until next time

Doin' da Diss' wit Cybergran V. Today we hit #51 to #100 before calling it quits and went looking for something a little different.[^]
We took the rough road up hear giving my 4x4 a stretch of legs in low gear but took the easy road down. Cool
Of the 4 caches in the area, this is the only one we found or could get to but we thoroughly enjoyed the ride and the view. Smile

#1637 @15:10

I was out caching with Burge today and we were on a bit of a roadtrip up north to pick up Melbourne's 1st cache. Along the way we picked up 32 today although there were a couple here and there that we had to pass on due to muggle activity! We've been treated to some great views today and this one was no exception. I feel like we came here the 'back way' as the fire trail was the shortest path between the last find and here but it was all good fun.

Thanks for the cache, MUZZDAWG11!

03-Oct-15
Out on a run with pantherx with the mission to pick up Melbourne’s first and whatever else was on the way.

After taking panther the back way we made it to the cache, don't try the shortest route if you aren't in a 4wd as you wont make it. Pantherx was very quick to chime in with are you sure this is a road my reply was very blunt "Its on the map". What a gorgeous view again I can see why people are happy to live outside of the Melbourne city limits. This was an easy grab

Not being a local around these parts, i'm just glad i was in a 4wd. Tftc

21-Sep-15
Well this was a bit of an adventure to get up here!! We had to stop and put faithful Emma into 4wd!! We hit a fork in the road that wasn't in the map so we chose to stick to the left. The right way met up again not far up the track. After the lumps and bumps of the road we came across another fellow traveller who had the bajeebas scared out if him when he realised he wasn't the only person on the road. I left my geo tool in Emma so I had to use a natural one for a lil extra help. The view was beautiful with a light misty rain starting. Tftc

More epic views!! The rain started a little bit so I stayed in the Georig. Tftc

Thought we had a bead on GZ as we approached. Parked a little way done the road and walked up the hill to where we thought it would be. Nothing obvious there. Closer inspection found the log book and cache lid in a plastic bag and the contents and rest of the container spread around 3m from GZ. Signed the log and put it all back together as best we could. Wind was too cold to enjoy the view for long. Thanks for the Cache #82

The cache was a quick and easy find, but as mentioned below, there is still no container, just a plastic bag, and a lid. The log is fairly damp, but still usable for now. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.

Found it but it needs a new container as there was only a log book in a plastic zip bag. They lid was next to it but no container anywhere to be found.

Cache has been muggled . I found the log out near the road ( soaking wet ) , I found the lid of the cache where the cache would have been but not the container . I usually carry the stuff to do a reno but today I was out testing a new motorbike and caching was only going to be an after thought ( yeh right ) . So anyway cache is not there .

Arrived back at Tullamarine Airport after a working trip to central Queensland and am heading to catch up with MuggleWife in Goughs Bay for the long weekend. This allows for a bit of a trip through the hills to grab some generally out of the way caches.
Used the back door as apposed to the front due to the MuggleFarm across the way having a clear view of GZ. Quick find with great views.
Thanks for the cache MUZZDAWG11
