Oh dear a climb in my current physical state was not what the Doctor has ordered and then a GPS / battery failure before locating the cache was also a challenge. Managed to find it without having to slide back down to the car for fresh batteries.
Unfortunately this little pussy cat is a little dewey inside.

We have come to Wivenhoe Dam for a few days & to find a couple of caches to fill some of our DT grid.
After a morning on the dam we then went further afield towards Atkinson Dam & the The Cat-A-Lyst series. Overall agreat day of caching.
Thanks for placing this cache Dark Dreamer

I was doing a bit of exploring of the area so decided to head this way.
I wandered back towards the GZ and spotted and old wooden bridge. It looked pretty cool and definitely worth checking out sometime. (the light was fading)
Thanks for the cache Dark Dreamer. Cheers!

Another cache we have done and not logged. It would have been the end of March, 2014. SL TFTC
Geohubby did this one; Just to even things up.
Logbook and cache full of water will need logbook replaced.

I received a call on the Batphone that SNJ was headed out this way today for some cache that fits the bill for a crazy challenge cache. While that didn't interest me too much, I do accept any chance to go caching! We had a cracker afternoon going up hill and down dale, and enjoyed every moment of it. Thanks to all the cache owners!
Another quick find for us today. Signed the replacement log in the cache as the original was very wet. Thanks for the cache.

I was chasing once cache in particular today and invited Swellerfungus to join me on my journey. Despite the weather looking a bit threatening we ended up doing a tour around Laidley, Clarendon, Lowood and Marburg, grabbing a number of caches along the way including this one. We managed to follow a geo trail that lead us right to GZ for a quick find. On the way back to the car I located an echidna that was no longer 3D[xx(] TFTC
A short walk and the cache was in hand, then back to the car after sliding down the slope.
great hide took a bit but got her in the end...dose need maitinace logs are wet.
thanks

Didn't find it today. Your caches are usually easy. This one was a bit further off the road and as I was alone I didn't like walking around too much in the long grass. Noticed that it's about 5 weeks since it was found, unusual for the Cat-A-Lyst series. Will wait until there is another find then will try again. Thank you for the challenge.
Poor Dewey! he was one soggy moggy when i found him! Totally drenched- needs to be drained and dried out to get him purring again.
Hi Dark Dreamer, I found your cache, Cat-A-Lyst ~ Dewey, today. It was a bit of a scramble up off the road where I parked - there is probably an easier (and longer) route, but it was fun. The cache was OK but being where it was I could see why previous posts say it was wet, etc. It was dry today, so when replacing it I built up the base a little to help keep it drier in its hiding place. Will certainly help when the weather is "dewey". Found at 2.05pm on 11th July 2015. TFT

Had to do some scamming to get this one. Dawesy321 had a fall at the end. But all good in cache land. Enjoyed this little bit of shade! TFTC
Genyo and I parked nearby and made our way to GZ. We had to assess where the best access point was and after deciding there wasn't one we scrambled up to GZ. After a bit of searching we had the cache in hand and began the walk back where sadly I had a bit of a slip. Oh well! To the next cache. TFTC!
Nice and easy find, but when found the log was very wet so we put it in another bag in the cache and did up a new log. Tftc
On my home from a camping weekend with friends, I decided to find a few caches on my way. This was the next one I came across. I parked nearby and made my way to GZ. Once there, the cache was quickly located. After signing the wet log, I returned the cache to its hiding spot and made my way to the next cache.
We parked near some kind of commercial area on the other side of the bridge and walked back to this one. It was a short but steep climb to get to where the phone was pointing so I went up while Dutchie1950 waited near the bottom. It didn't take long to find the cache and then I realised Dutchie had the pen! Back I went and threw it down for her to do the signing before throwing it back up to me to replace it.
I came out of here covered in farmers friends from the walk to the cache. Glad I didn't read the earlier log about the green snakes when I was there!

# 729 - Travelling to Lake Wivenhoe with Rhyssa6 today for a weekend camping with like-minded souls.
The last one of the series and not one DNF! What a great result.
After my earlier fall I wasn't quite up to the steep climb, so Rhyssa6 and I played a 'throw the ball' game when she discovered that she had left her pen behind. After some terrific catching the log was signed and the container hidden.
BTW the log was soaking wet and so was the inside of the container.

The cache was soaked and we didn't have any replacements it needs looking at. Beautiful sunny but cool day to be caching on. Back on the cat trail, quick easy find TFTC
Travelling around Australia in our Caravan with our cat.
Left the Toowoomba showgrounds and the caching family to head off on our own today.
A quick drive to Esk, dropped the van and lunch at one of the many local cafe's before heading out to explore the area.
Such a beautiful and picturesque area with so many local parks.

Was over here for the Qld Mega event - found many, many caches whilst here, but the geogods weren't smiling on us - the weather spoiled it a bit, with only the one day not marred by the rain. But we still found most of the caches we searched for, catching up with old friends and making new ones whilst out on the trail. Time to head back to Brisbane now though - flying back to Perth tonight. Did some last minute caching around Lowood while The Better Half of the Chwiliwr team visited old friends. Found this one without any trouble. Great spot above the river. Not sure that the hide follows the guidelines though. Thanks Dark Dreamer
Searched high and low using the android tablet but no sign of a cache. Thanks anyway.

tftc... its a good hide.. have checked near the big tree & freaked me out lots of green snakes hanging out on that tree... i stopped & had a hard look around & bingo found it
This series has been on my to do list since May last year. Finally worked out a caching plan to include these. Arrived close to GZ and parked off the road. A little climb up the bank and now to follow the
GPSr. Like most others I was required to go to the tree in the Lantana. Having read previous logs knew this was not right. Must have checked every tree within 10 meters of the lantana about a dozen times.
I knew it must be here so I started a sweep and poke regime and eventually hear a clunk. Not that far off where my GPSr wanted me. Nope not the container. Hold on, what is this. Dug down and found the container. There was about 180 mm of dried mud and leaves on top of the camo and the cache. Cleaned it all out and recovered with leaves as the container is not level to the ground. Took me nearly an hour. Too many finds and only 1DNF it should not have been this hard.
18 finds and no DNF's today as I did a couple of walks for other caches today and not to mention the hour I spent looking for Dewey. Got back home to Nanango at 1600 after a 0500 start this morning. TFTC Dark Dreamer.

Dewey's coordinates were averaged and set with a Garmin GPSr device. He can be tricky to spot!
If you're using a mobile phone to search, please be aware it can throw a search field up to 15m away from GZ.

On our way to Hatton Vale for my best mate's wake this arvo.
Not an easy find, GPS had me searching a tree surrounded by Lantana, read some logs and searched a little further afield, 8m, I've posted the co-ords that worked for me today.
All with the cache

These caches have been on the radar for some time, but we always seem to be in the wrong vehicle when we are in the area. So with us all having a day off work today, it was the perfect opportunity to grab all these little cats. We had a lovely drive around this area, and were surprised at how far you could drive along the waters edge of the dam.
All caches are in good condition, and dry with plenty of room in the log book.
thanks for the cache Dark Dreamer

Took a while to locate this one - searched high and low , and the GPSr kept indicating the same (original) spot, and what do you know, it was there all the time !
Thanks for the cache, Dark Dreamer !
Thanks for the cache, Dark Dreamer !
Parked on the side road a little further away and went for a short stroll...noticed there have been a few very brave souls who have attempted to park near GZ!! This one had us stumped for a little while. Read through a few logs which soon pointed us in the right direction.
Made this harder than it needed. Going by the clue, the GPS had me trying to get to a tree surrounded by lantana. After poking about for a while I thought I'd check a more convenient tree and there it was. Thanks Dark Dreamer
We only had time for one more on our way home today, and since we all loved the Dewey book, it had to be this one. Had to park 160m up the road, but it was pretty quiet, so no dramas. The final ascent took a little bit of effort to get everyone up. The cache was largely intact but whatever was affixed to the lid appears to have disintegrated in the elements, unfortunately. Look forward to returning to complete the series: TFTC!
Found the way to Brisbane for a geocaching day, angloj pulled up on the side of the road and I scrambled to the top to make an easy find. TFTC
Couldn't find a good place to park. So we parked after the bridge. Went for a quick jog over the bridge with the nephew as a piggy back. Good word if encouragement were yelled by my nephew. My niece found the cache. And after a slide back down to the road side we were back across the bridge & safe in our cars. On to the next!!!
Found it and went for a slide back down. The art on top of cace also was off. May need to reattach. Tftc
Dewey must have been a fabulous feline. I do like furballs of the kitty cat kind!
We purred to a stop nearby and made our way to GZ
Master Kitty was a bit of a scramble for me with my wounded wing Gotta put one up a hill, eh?
Cosmos the geo-dog says "Hi!" and extends a paw in greeting.
Cache needs a minor fix but left my tools in the car... Sorry! A dab of glue would do it. Otherwise clean and dry
TFTC Dark Dreamer
ps: this cat has worms!

Finally found this one today. Took a little walk to achieve it, but worthwhile. Cat-A-Lyst series now complete. TFTH Dark Dreamer, a very well done series with a lot of effort involved. Being a Librarian, I just had to mark off "Dewey".
Pulled up a little way up the road and walked back to this one.
Walked to GZ and soon had the cache in hand.
Took piccy, signed log and returned to hide.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Dark Dreamer All good with this cache

Parked a little way up the road before walking back to grab the cache. It was not in the first place I looked but after checking the GPS I realised I was still a few metres away. Co-ords were spot on again and I soon had the logbook signed and on my way.
A short drive from the first find in the series and I was looking for a close park but couldn't locate one so again I had to do a Uturn and come back and found a spot off the road at the next farm.
A light shower was falling as I strolled back along the road heading to wards where I thought the cache was but as I approached that spot I noticed the GPS arrow swing around and pointed behind me. Oh, so, it is not over there at all. A scramble up and I followed the GPS right to the cache. A quick find with a bit of exercise on the stroll back to the car.
Thanks Dark Dreamer

After going to Stanthorpe for the week-end to attend a caching event it is now time to head home.
Via Toowoomba.
While stopping for a food break I noticed some new caches just up the road. [^]
A detour from the detour. This could be a long drive back to Brisbane. [B)]
Some great little add ons to all of the containers in this little series.
Thanks for the caches.

2nd find in the series and found quickly. Now it's off to find the next feline. TFTC
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
Gaz'n'Kab, Net88 and I were all keen to spend a day together caching and upon seeing this new series appear, figured a trip out west a bit would be great. I do enjoy this area, a nice part of the world and easy, decently sized caches to add to the count. Interesting bridge and such nearby. After having a look there, I hopped out and Gaz drove off to park someplace safely. I think I took the hard route to this one, making a T3.5 effort out of it. After I was up though, another easy find for the team and our last for the day out here. TFTC Dark Dreamer
Found this one while out and about with Net88 and Captain Terror today. We very much enjoyed series.

Found this cache whilst out for a day of caching with Captain Terror and Gaz'n'Kab. We had grabbed a few cats already and this one was next on our list. Like it's previous relatives Dewey was not a hard cat to find at all. We signed the log and replaced the cache for the next cacher, which turned out to be iolanthek and crew. Thanks for the cache Dark Dreamer.
Out with T-Tech and teamdfl collecting smilies around Wivenhoe. On our way home at the end of the day we couldn't resist grabbing a few of this series as we went by. All co-ords were spot on and we had no trouble making any of the finds. I was hoping to see some ducks at this one TFTC, Dark Dreamer.
Out with IolantheK and teamdfl in the Brisbane Valley area for a cache grab [^]
