Find #9,000 for me, on 23 Nov 2024 11:36am. The weather was Light Rain 24C 47% 3 m/s . Found with PamJ during our stay in Millicent. We Victorians were barred from attending the Mega during the Covid period, so this is a catchup visit to Millicent and the surrounding area. Nice spot. Number 9,000 find for me. Thanks Old stratty for your contribution to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*

TFTC Old stratty for your cache Radio Goo Goo which we found today. We have been camped at Penola for the past week enjoying the area and the caching. Today we decided to head to Mount Gambier. The aim was to complete the Adventure Labs and to complete some more of the multis and solved puzzles. We would also attempt any other caches close by. We succeeded in finishing all the Adventure Labs as well as 13 other caches. A great day.

Find count: 15510

This is the first find if hopefully a big day of caching, towards Millicent.

This one’s for Mr Riddell who ids still working hard in Melbourne.
He’s the Ham Radio amateur extraordinaire!
He would have loved this one!

TFTC an easy find at a very appropriate location.

We are heading off to Adelaide after spending a few days with SuperPop to celebrate his 90th birthday to catch a flight to Perth to visit some dear old friends that aren't doing too well at the moment. We are stopping occasionally to grab a few caches to break up the journey.

This was quite an interesting cache as we knew nothing of the history that was here and really enjoyed the learning experience and trying to imagine what it must have been like without the technology we all take for granted these days. We collected the required information and ddi what we had to do and then headed off to gz. Once there we guessed where the cache would be and didn't even bother taking the GPSr with us and still managed a nice quick find.& sign. We had a little bit of trouble getting back to the car but nothing serious. The only thing wrong with this cache is that we now have that stupid song stick in our heads.

Thanks Old stratty for the cache and for the history.

Visited the initial waypoint a couple of days ago, but realised GZ was a bit far away from the direction we were heading, so decide to leave this one for another time - and today was it [8]!
Pulled up opposite GZ and thought "Down there Surprised[?]." Cautiously made our way down to GZ for a quick find Razz.

Thanks Old stratty.

We had some business to do in town today along with ilook4geo, so we stayed local for the day's caching run. On the program was a mix of cache types and we were happy to sign each found log with both names. Many thanks go to Old stratty for placing this cache, which we enjoyed finding.

Had some fun today with goingplaces2 and after each log was found and signed, all was replaced where it belonged. Thanks go to each CO who added to our fun for the day by placing the caches around the Mount Gambier area.

Out on a cache run weekend with CPwanderer & Gizmo's gang.
The embankment was nice & spongy. I was hoping that nothing was lurking in the grass.
I couldn't believe the amount of fruit on the tree, someone will enjoy peach pie for quite a while...
Once getting through the tree limbs, the cache was easy to find.
Thanks for the cache Old Stratty

Still down in the south east for the "Used 2B a Geoventure" celebration weekend. Just one (hundred) more!!!
( Hopefully we'll be back for the real Geoventure when it's able to go ahead Wink )

Teamed up with Sebastbat, and JEM we hit the trail again today and just found whatever came up on our map, some new, some old, all fun! The weather was definitely better today!!

A satisfying find on the way back out of town after putting it all together.

Thanks for placing and maintaining another great cache on this corner of our map Old stratty

Stay safe out there, caches and their hidey holes can be dirty and wet!
wash your hands, wipe down your cache gear, stay on this side of the border (it was tempting...)
sanitise, exercise, even wear a mask if hayfever season gets to you and
cache the countryside safely distanced at least a roo or an adult brown snake's length apart ! ! !
Have fun out there ! ! ! Smile

I started this multi ages ago and finally had a final location, today I was driving past it so stopped to make the quick find

Today I started out at cockatoo lake after camping there for the evening before making my way to Mt gambier today cleaning up as many caches as I could along the way. A solid day with the weather in mint condition which is unusual for the south east. 85 finds for the day and 5 labs.

Thanks for the cache

Decided to head out about town to make a few finds before the rain sets in. Very chilly today think the wind was coming straight from Antarctica. Surprised

Info collected, GZ calculated then we managed to sign the log towards the end of the day.

WOW, what a fantastic little multi. The questions were simple the gathering of the information was easy and then a short drive away we found the cache. At this point I did send hubby in for the cache as the terrain was against me, in saying that any one who is physically fit will do it easily, I have a slight physical impairment, saying this if I had been on my own I would have found a way to get the cache container.

I visited this cache with FeatherWaite on day 3 of a caching trip from Adelaide to south-western Victoria/south-eastern South Australia.

After a warm, but reasonable morning, the weather turned nasty with very hot and windy conditions until a cooler change very late in the afternoon. With fire and travel warnings also being received via automated SMS’, we had to alter our plans and were not able to visit a number of the caches that we had initially targeted. Nevertheless, we did manage to find a selection of traditional, multi, virtual, unknown and earthcaches.

This was a nice quick find.
Thanks Old stratty for the cache.

We went to Mt Gambier for the day in Whitepaws9’s car. We enjoyed exploring the Town, Blue Lake and Sink Hole.

Nice multi, thanks old stratty this cache was placed about the same time we started caching, seems like our lives have always had caching as part of it but in reality it has been six years. How time flies.
Did the visit to the monument and read about the history of the radio goo goo, did the drive toward home and stopped.at GZish.
Almost rolled down the slope, searched the wrong spot, moved to the south and searched some more, bingo, found the treasure, signed the log and tucked the cache away safe.and sound as sound. Thanks old stratty for the cache.

26-May-19
Today was my final day in the southeast region before heading back to Adelaide. A final cave dive was had, before then driving on to Millicent for the OzAdventure 2020 promotion event, geocaching along the way. After having a good chat and finding the geocaches around Lake McIntyre where the event was held, I then found a few need ladder geocaches on the highway back to Kingston, and made a slight detour out towards Robe. Although there was intermittent showers earlier, it was only here when the sky unloaded with heavy rain, and arrived back to Adelaide a little earlier than my forecast ETA.

We had visited the posted coordinates yesterday, and didn't realise that it required a bit of a drive to GZ. We knew we were going past this location this morning, and so made a quick stop, and the cache was found. Thanks Old stratty, nicely themed.

Hi there Old stratty.

It's our last day in Mount Gambier. We tried to extend our stay at the caravan park but were told we would have to move to another site[xx(]. WTF, why can't the incoming patrons move on to the site we were to move to?

Nevertheless we enjoyed our outing and found 7 caches (& DNF'd 3) in our cache run today. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places while we meander our way around Australia. Thanks also for not placing a mint tin or a 200ml Sistema here. It made us feel really good to find this "special" cache here.

**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge

Regards

Ian & Penny.

Owl was heading home after 5 days on the road and cache blindness was setting in. However, a combination of stubbornness and PaFs got her over the line on a number of caches. This one was all her own work and the carefully hidden cache eventually revealed itself.

Having attended a morning event and walked a lap of the Blue Lake, cabbos and myself stopped by the bakery for lunch before tackling several multis about town and picking up a trad or two Smile
I had gathered the info a couple of days ago while in town for the dinner event and because it had got to cold and dark we left it for another day.
Today is another day... and the final cache for the day.

Enjoying a mini break in Mt. Gambier with all the great locations to visit as well as plenty of caches on offer working our way steadily through the local multi's and presolved puzzles in the short time we had in the Mount.
Pulling safely off the road we found a cache guardian watching over the container (rat), we didn't seem to perturb him in our duties in signing the log though!
Thanks Old stratty for the interesting multi.

In Mount Gambier with Happy Pants for a day of caching. We had worked the coordinates out earlier in the day. After finding a few more caches, we made our way to GZ and made a quick find. Thanks Old Stratty for the multi and for bringing us here.

I love a good multi especially when they incorporate some local history or interest and this one didn't disappoint, apart from the road being a little busy at the start of the cache we came past the final gz a little later in the day and managed a quick find. Thanks Old stratty for the nice little multi and information too.

Suscoe headed out early today as our time in Mount Gambier is quickly disappearing.
It was a very foggy start to the day but as time went by the blue sky gently emerged and a splendid day was had by us.
45 cache finds in total which was a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed all the finds.
This is a terrific location for geocaching and we have loved our time in the Mount.

Did the reading and learned something new.
Then later in the day we headed to GZ and found the cache.
Well done to Old straty for placing this multi here.

We did this working out for this one a couple of days earlier, saw the final was some distance away so stored it for the future then promptly forgot about it. Going for a drive on this day, Mr TiedyeSmileys saw something and asked if the radio goo goo final was nearby. Mrs TiedyeSmileys had a look and said we were almost right on top of it. A quick search and we soon had the cache in hand.

we discovered this monument only a couple of weeks ago
when we were doing an observation run with our car club.
it was funny to see the original waypoints taking us back here.
it made sense.
after reading the plaque and answering the questions we found our destination...
in the middle of a paddock...??
hmmm... lets just say lucky geo wife took a photo of the plaque.
got the right waypoints this time.

After attending the Geozing race event Mogni, Aussie M&M and I headed out for some more caching. Cool

After send poor Mr. M out into the rain to call out answers as we wrote them down in the nice dry geomobile we set off to GZ. Who would have thought that two cars would pull up in the middle of nowhere and start to chat. Surprised Worse still their chat room was only 50 metres from GZ. Other cachers [?] Nope. Whether they beleive I went to the only tree in sight for a rest stop is up to them. I got a smiley. Smile Thanks Old stratty. Big Grin
