Logs
Logbook very soggy and cache water logged. Beautiful spot and worth the walk in. Our 5 month old daughter Ellie's first ever cache
*Found on the 2 Apr 2021 @ 3:27 pm.*
*Cache find # 11577.*
Today I headed out the the Warburton area with biggles1024, we had a couple of caches on our to do list which didn't pan out so we went after a few others instead, this being one of them.
Mark had already found this one a number of years ago by doing it the hard way with a 7.2 kilometre walk.
Today we were able to drive to GZ, well nearly, I parked about 40 metres away and walked the rest of the way.
At GZ, it wasn't long before the cache was found, the cache was opened and the water was emptied out. the logbook was damp but still very usable, we added a new zip lock bag so now it's in two.
We headed back to the car which wasn't too bad, slightly up hill but we made it and drove off back down the trail.
**Thanks to day1976 for placing this cache.**

Thank you for the cache. The journey in was quite an adventure. I was here about 25 years ago and there was a radio mast and not many trees. thanks and regards from Vic
Given the current State of Disaster declared in Victoria and the strict laws regarding movement around the state, I am disabling all of my caches within Victoria until restrictions are lifted.
As restrictions are beginning to ease, I am enabling some of my geocaches that aren't regularly found. I will monitor advice from government officials, geocaching HQ and the local reviewers with regards to enabling more or re-disabling these.
This cache will be disabled until the COVID-19 crisis is over. Please refrain from finding this geocache.
Found it with ol mate g2711962. And Gus. And Maisie. 10.30am-ish.
Stash is still OK but condensation seems to be a developing problem.
I'd recommend against using the clue unless you're desperate, since it's not a difficult find.
We parked near the Burns Road intersection after coming in from the western approach (Mt Bride) and walked in the last 500m or so.
(An earlier attempt from the Powelltown end, last month, had failed due to a massive mountain ash blocking the road.)
NOTE. Both roads were moderately greasy after very few mm of recent rain and, combined with the number (and size!) of the drainage berms, I reckon both accesses will quickly become 4WD / bike / walk only as the cold, wet weather kicks in … no doubt ParksVic will be gating the roads off for seasonal closures soon enough.
Passed several loads of dumped rubbish on our way in and I was gobsmacked to find dumped vehicles and loads more trash on the plateau at the top. Some ratbags need gaoling, eh.
Took nothing. Left nothing. Thanks for the cache, day1976!

Not a DNF so much as a. DNGTTTC (did not get to try the cache). A policeman had cordoned off the road this afternoon on account of a nearby fire - hope everybody is safe.
Will be back another time.
Will be back another time.
What a surprise finding such a big open area up here. The cache had some water in it but the log is still dry.

I haven't found an unloved cache for quite some time and the competition is once again heating up. This one was close to one year unloved and I decided that was close enough. I parked my 'all terrain Fairmont' at the intersection of Mount Bride Rd and Burns Rd. There is no way I could have got the old car up there. I headed off on foot and made good time in the cool morning air. A 7.2km round trip. I ate morning tea at the top of the track and then went forth and made the find. That cache wasn't going anywhere. With the log signed, I headed back down. I met two young blokes on trail bikes riding up the hill. I moved to the side of the track and they slowed right down. A friendly wave from each which I returned and then I continued down. I met them again when I was only a few hundred metres from my car. As soon as they saw me, they again slowed, waved and waited until they were past me before they opened the throttles. I wish all such encounters were as pleasant. Just good manners and mutual respect.
Thank-you to day1976 for placing this geocache

This cache took us through classic Aussie bush. While in the area with Bonny Black decided to go for this unloved cache. The cache and log are in excellent condition despite being buried under leaf litter and sawdust like debris. Thank you day1976. Good luck with your mission 2morro.
With Faulksi at the wheel we slid and bounced along on the wet track, finally arriving at a clearing at the top of Groom Hill. A short walk and a precise hint put us straight to this unloved cache. Glad we made the effort. Thanks Day
With the large gate closed securely I knew this would not be a drive by today. Luckily I had my bike and with the afternoon free I headed off through this great part of the wilderness. I past a couple of muggles on motorbikes along the way but apart from that I had the area to myself. For a large part of the way in there was plenty of snow around through the tree lines and along each side of the road, including at the gz. The cache was located after a short search and I took in the views while signing the log. Tftc day1976, also for the exercise and the chance to kick some dust off my pedals.
A lovely walk on a winters day. Disgusting amount of litter left behind by hunters spoil it.
Congratulations on ahomburg on another FTF and a very close second from the Archies. This cache could still be considered "lonely" if it is not found again until the 8th of October. As per the rules of the challenge, a cache is considered lonely if the second day it was found exceeds 90day after publication. This cache still has only been found on one day. Glad you guys enjoyed the walk!

I had noticed this cache pop up a few weeks ago, and the previous cache in this area I had searched for but was not able to find, so I was glad of this new one. I ended up parking on the corner of Mount Bride Road and Burns road and headed in on foot, despite the gate being open, I was in need of the exercise, so a 5km+ walk was ideal. The weather was overcast, but not cold and no sign of rain, so after finishing off my morning coffee, off I went. I was half way there when I received a call from DrJim, needing help with "Keep It Moving", so I tried to help while continuing to walk towards my target. It wasn't long before I arrived in the clearing and instantly recognized it as a place I had been before, but from a different direction. Shortly after, the well hidden cache was found with a blank log book.... YAY a FTF for me
On the way back to the car, I bumped into the Bananas who had the same thought as me in regards to finding this cache.

Found twice within the hour after a long incubation time ruling out any chance for this to become lonely.
Well done homburg for your ability in the bush is fantastic. The bananas had too many farmers markets to visit this morning expecting our failed Friday attempt to last till today for a FTF.
Thank you day1976 for our visit today showed us a lyrebird in full show. A scene not previously witnessed by this B1 city fruit.
Saw plenty of wombats that appeared to be basking in the sun. But that's another story.
Great hide and easy to find. Well done.
