This took a while to find. We were only successful once we started poking methodically into the dead leaves. TFTC!
Easy find. Interesting just walking around the cemetery and looking at the headstones
Out for the day caching along the way. This was a quick find in an interesting place with no muggles about today. TFTH
I found this cache sitting on the seat - someone must have found it and thanks to them left it here. Signed the log and placed it back where I thought it might have been originally placed. TFTC # 17,305
Thanks Magsie20 for the cache. It’s #1497 for us. We found your cache on 2 May 2021. Lovely spot.
My Mum's weekend away started on Friday with cake for lunch in Tai Tapu and six finds on the way to Akaroa.
So although Mum's weekend away is all about getting together with friends where we all spend time chatting we also have the freedom to doing things alone. My plan was to get up in time to see the sun rise, even if no one else was interested.
I wasn't sure I had the best location in my but thought I could work out Saturday morning where I should be and come back up Sunday morning. As it was the cloud meant I couldn't see the sun at all so if I wanted to see the sunrise I would have to rise early Sunday morning too.
Well just because I couldn't see the sun rising didn't mean I couldn't find some caches.
Things were progressing well with four finds already ticked off for the morning and intel gathered regarding sunrise watching.
I was all ready for breakfast and heading down the hill from my last find when I got stuck behind a driver that loved using their brakes far too regularly in my opinion. So when I noticed a certain sign on the side of the road I decided to pull over and find a cache while they continued on slowly and hoped they would be long gone by the time I got back to my car.
Nice quite area with interesting graves, so many died so young, which was lucky as there was a digger near by that was being moved back to the road to be transported away. I didn't have to feign interest in the graves for long before I had the cemetery to myself.
After which it was a straight forward find with the cache well hidden. I made use of the nearby seat to sign the log. Then once it was returned continued on my quest to find food.
This was the last cache I hunted for on Saturday, which meant six caches found both days of my trip so far.
Thanks for the smilie, a nice quiet spot to visit.

Another quick find as we meandered our way back towards Christchurch.
We took a bit of time to look around the old gravestones to see if there were any with the family name on it, but we couldn't see any.
Thanks for putting this here for us to find.

2nd Cemetery visit for the day, Nice little spot. Found with Team Woof (Purdie, SonOfAnarchy, LilSoa and GoeMurph)
We decided on an over night visit to Akaroa as it is nearly 40 years since we visited the little town ship of Akaroa . we had a lovely time over in the town ship and i managed to visit a few Caches which were a bonus, although this weekend was a very busy weekend due to a relay race being held this weekend. and now it is time to catch up with logs and hope i did not get things muddled.
I did love the little Post Office at robinson bay
thank you for this cache and i took nothing and left nothing

What a great cache! We had so much fun finding this with our new local friend, Jorge ^..^. Cache is in great condition. Thanks for bringing us here!
Quick easy find in the rain today but didn't stay for a rest (nice spot though) as there were people there paying their respects to someone.
A quick stop on the way back, after a decent seat inspection for a micro I expanded the search and there it was. Cheers
Had never been to Akaroa, so when the chance presented itself, Mr and Mrs EU went for a drive. A great day, some nice caches, and some great views. TFTC

During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!
Today we have found the cache "Resting Place (Canterbury)".
Magsie20, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

Found it after having a look into the right direction... Thanks a lot for the cache!
It was great fun and not to hard we completed it on a hot sunny day I did this one with my mum
A beautiful day for another family adventure. The kids are so motivated to walk outdoors now!
A quick find after dropping out daughter at work in Wainui... and just before I headed back there with the purse she left in the car!
I only had my pen on me so didn't have a spare bag to replace the tired on. The log is damp but still useable.

Thankyou for bringing us to the final testing place of those from the area. Had no idea it was here. Have retrieved the TB to be released asap.
A lovely spot and a spacious cache. A bit of a lonely cache though so very glad that Jude and I found it today and gave it some friendship. TFTH.
Another little country cemetery that I wouldn't have visited but for geocaching. Nice final resting spot. Tftc.

Today we had a great trip across the peninsula of Akaroa. Start/finish was Diamond Harbour, great mountain tracks, stopping again and again because of caches, photo motives, picnics or simply so. Beer in the Harbar, Akaroa Harbour, Feijoas in 4 Square, Blue Mailbox. Super bathing beach in Le Bons Bay, fantastic sunset.
In addition, our southernmost cache and the most distant cache on this tour are targeted.

We pulled up here on our way to Akaroa directly in front of a Hitchhiker, who thought we were going to pick him up! Unfortunately there were already 4 of us in the car, so no room for him! Heading into the cemetary we were having issues getting a lock on GZ, thankfully Onawe had found this one before, so gave us a hint, and the cache was soon in hand.
Staying in the area with RWIMF and Onawe as Onawe's parents have a Bach here. This one was nice and close well we drove around the area
Thanks for the nice cache Logged together with zamppa00 using nickname ZZ FIN

We rested and looked as instructed, and soon found the cache, a little southwest of the coordinates for us. TFTC
My first regular cache in NZ! Wow, what a beautiful drive it was coming from Christchurch. Driving on the left was a challenge since the entire vehicle is also opposite what I'm used to. I kept flipping on the wipers instead of my turn signal! Anyway, I'm delighted to be here and found the cemetery interesting too. TFTC!
Another hilly Banks Peninsula cemetery ticked off. Must be a bit dodgy having a burial in the rain... GLB1721 TFTC (4122)
Out on a caching mission with Becsicasa while I was in the CHCH area for the festive season. All fine with this find, which is always good
TFTC Magsie20, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 4 find(s) of 16 today, making this find #1677

Out on our yearly Christmas caching mission with Z-masterNZ. Thought we'd check out a new part of the South Island so Akaroa was a good choice.

Nice to find a decent sized cache in another peaceful cemetery. Found with AorakiSheep
As far as cemeteries go this is a nice peaceful spot. Bell birds in full song! Cache found. TFTC!
#14303. I didn't know this cemetery was tucked away here; a most interesting spot. Cache was soon found. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker on a weekend trip to Akaroa, our first visit in over 7 years.
A fabulous wee cemetery and nicely kept too. SW found the cache and brought it back to the handy seat for signing duties. Good to find a cache in a cemetery big enough to leave a zombie TB which has languished far too long in my caching bag. TFTC.

We decided to head over to the Peninsula with daughter for a bit of caching for the day. It was really windy!! In some spots, it felt like we are going to be blown away. Luckily, we were only blown away by the fun we were having!! Great day, and a big thank you to all the CO for placing and maintaining the caches along our route!!!

I hadn't had a propper big geocaching day since probably before the baby was born - somehow Bethany doesn't seem to enjoy geocaching as much as I do! It's always slower with nowhere near as many finds!! So a plan was hatched to get my fix - mum and I would go out caching, and baby would have some daddy bonding time!! Haha! However even though this plan was hatched at the beginning of the year, it's taken us till April to execute as mum is always busy!
So finally today was the day. A bit of a late start, and we had to be home before dinner, but still managed to get 46 caches! A few DNF, but heaps of kms travelled! Nice to make some steps towards clearing a little more of my closest 80km to home PQ out!
A quick find for me
TFTC!!

I managed to get on a work trip to Christchurch for two weeks but was faced with a dilemma. Do I go for quantity or quality? I didn't have a vehicle to use all to myself so was somewhat limited to what I could get. In the end I just found what I could when I could but the webcam and the virtual were top of my list.
We planned a day trip over to Akaroa with a few others from work (all of which were muggles). The plan was to have brunch and then complete a couple of walks. Finding geocaches wasn't the driving force behind the days trip so I just grabbed what I could.
A few off us headed off to grab this one as the others went back to the van. I found the co-ords to be slightly out here but that didn't stop one of my muggle friends finding her first cache.
Thanks for the cache and the smiley.

we couldn't find it with the phone, maybe the coordinates are not so accurate or the phone wasn't.
