Time to let this series go. It has run its course (it was a long course). No longer interested in placing and maintaining geocaches.
Out for an afternoon of caching with pinnacle333.
A beautiful walk along a trail, where a little bushbashing was required to get to GZ after trees had fallen.
Not much of an ‘Old Cottage Garden’ to be seen, but a great picnic area by the creek. Thanks day1976.

Our final find in the late afternoon, we climbed over trees fallen in the storms and made our way to gz. Was this really an old cottage garden? Nothing remains except for the wire fence I nearly walked into in the dusk! Thanks for bringing us here day1976
Went for an afternoon walk with the wife and dogs for valentines day.
Bit of bush bashing whilst on the lookout for snakes but didn't see any but just be careful

Parked at Kay's picnic ground and had a pleasant walk along the trail towards gz. Then the fun started finding a way through the bush to get to the cache. Eventually found it after resorting to the hint . Cache is in good nick.
Thanks day.
Thanks day.
I had been at Menzies Creek today as a Signalman for Puffing Billy... and decided to take a "long way home" through the Dandenongs... stopping for a cache or two on the way home. Kays Picnic Ground provided a convenient parking spot for this cache (and one other) so it seemed a logical choice.
Unlike the other cache, the trail was still open for use at least as far as you needed to go before going bush. With the help of the Hint, I found my way to the big tree and then to *the* star picket. No cache! As a tree had recently fallen on this part of the fence, I spent a long scrabbling around in the mulch in case the cache had been knocked to the ground. After a long and fruitless hunt, I was about to give up when *the penny finally dropped!* It's an old fence... maybe I had the wrong star picket. Yep, three star pickets and one leech later, I finally spotted the cache... where it belonged at the top of a star picket!
Thanks **day1976** for an interesting diversion on my way home.

Used the hint to find this in the jungle. Luckily geocat and I like bush bashing. Thanks
Thanks Dave 1976. it's a wet Saturday afternoon, but I think it's only fitting that I should be allowed to find one cache on my way home after they made me work on a Saturday morning. Added bonus my name is now on the top of the replacement blog, yeah! regards from Vic
I was on my own today after doing a bushwalk in the area. Parked in the picnic area and did the multi closeby. Got to GZ and found the star picketts. Slowly checked all the tops and nothing there. Checked at the bases and found one green bison with very wet soggy log sheet. Replaced log book. Attached bison with elastic band and black electric tie at top of star picket to keep dry. Thanks for the cache day1976
First find for my kids, now they are hooked, thanks for a not too difficult find!
Thanks for the find it it took alittle while to locate the star picket but got there in the end.
Found without the hint but good use of the description. Great little off-road hide
Set out for a walk from Sassafras to Butterfields and return
Didn't quite make it to Butterfields as time was getting away from me (spent way too much time admiring the magnificent trees and ferns!)
Stopped by this cache around 11am
Seems Mother Nature has won again!
Many thanx to day1976. All in good condition

A beautiful area for a walk. The trees are massive and I felt very small in their presence. Great instructions and a nice little detour soon had the cache found. The log is a bit damp and I couldn’t write my name in it so I have taken a photo as proof I was there admiring the Cottage Garden TFTC
This cache will be disabled until the COVID-19 crisis is over. Please refrain from finding this geocache.
I was doing the first part of the Plantigrade multi and looking for the traditional caches along the way. I thought my phone was playing up here as it seemed to suggest I was still a decent way from GZ, but it turned out it was spot on. I was regretting my decision to wear shorts at this point though. Cache was found with the aid of the clear hint. TFTC day1976
Perfect waterproof container - quick find! Left the kids on the main trail as last off track I kicked a snake and my youngest had a bull ant attack Beautiful track
Suscoe had a little bit of time today for a short walk along one of the walking tracks here and so we selected this one.
A pleasant walk from the picnic ground and we soon had the cache in hand.
Thanks to day1976 for this hide, such a nice walk.

I had the morning off work and so I decided to try and get some more of the traditionals if this series. I don't think I would have found this one without the hint or the geotrail! Tftc!
TFTC day76. Found yesterday. Nicely placed and in fair shape, although the log is a bit dampish. No maint needed yet...Jimmytherat
After the GPS had me walking around in circles for a while, it finally settled near the cache. Then I followed the hint and the cache was soon in hand. All in good condition. TFTC
Trying to fill in my calendar so Ellie and I headed out to find one not too far away. Had a couple walking the same track and taking photos just where we had to go off track. A few false trails but eventually found the right big tree and the cache.
Thanks day1976

Well, this was a nice little diversion in my attempt to do the multi that seemingly is the main driver of people that go out and find this and the series of caches. I am rather sorry in my late and undetailed logs on these trads but I overall I really loved the walk along to work on the plantigrade multi, it will be one of those caches that I remember forever in my caching journey and this find was nd always be a part of this memory. Thanks for the cache and the legendary walk.
Forgot a pen again! This was an unusual thing to find while going for a walk through the forest, a large netted area, and a massive oak tree! Very cute little spot for a cache.

An easy find once we got in here.
The European trees looked lovely in the sunlight this afternoon.
The fence is evident and separates the garden. TFTC and this magic spot.

So many big trees to choose from. The tree was my second guess. I like to think I am someone who goes off track but the reality is I do like my set tracks. Thanks Day this is a cool little stop that I would have walked pass without ever realising it was here
Cheers heaps

I made my way to GZ - there's no fence here???! Then I read the hint and it soon revealed itself, nicely hidden. Thank you
So after a crash of my app i am now backlogging my finds with no timestamps or date stamps for now. This one has been on our list for quite some time and finally i made the little trek into the beautiful area and after my silly phone was showing 10meters away i checked the hint and had a look about to make the easy find....Signed the logbook and headed off on the next journey ....
Awesome series Day1976 and i will endeavour to finish this series eventually.
Thanks for the Adventure.

Thanks for the Adventure.
It was an easy walk from the car park along the track and up to the big tree, passing lots of other candidates. Followed instructions and saw what I was looking for. This is when the trouble started. I undid the container and some how dropped it. It disappeared!!! I found the log and the top was still fixed, but I could not spot the rest of it. Dismantling the undergrowth bit by bit was not not helping or revealing what I was after. Getting more and more frustrated and my core temperature rising, I resorted to prayer. There nestled in the centre of a clump of grass, I spotted the unnatural colour of the hide. Thank you! Oh and thank you too Day for the cache.
We answered a call from OzHockeyChick to join her, Kelly and S_38 to tackle a section of the Plantigrade series today. We had a very pleasant day out apart from the rampant blackberries which gave Kelly a particularly hard time as she was the only one of us in shorts. OzHockeyChick and Kelly had found this cache this cache previously, but they were kind enough to wait while S_38, Geoturtle37 and I took the short stroll to gz. After a bit of a bush bash we arrived at gz and S_38 soon had the cache in hand. Thanks for bringing us here and thanks for the cache.
Caching with Papillon4506, Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and Kelly of Mark&Kelly today after having walked (sorry crashed) through kilometers of bush we just just driven to the picnic ground, found a cache placed by Mark&Kelly and dawdling back enjoying the area and it's beauty after being assured we didn't have to walk anymore I came out of the bush to the call from paps and turtle "Come on Alan we need this one it's only 197m away" so a quick jog to catch up, filled in on the description and a stroll into the bush we soon found the area. I was looking about, more at the history than for the cache when a closer feature to the likely location was stumbled on. I soon spotted this cute nano in plain sight and soon had it in hand. A very interesting spot to see. TFTC
Was unable to find this one sadly. Was mixing up my usual gym routine. Used the hint, and spend quite a while searching however around the area there was a fair bit of rubbish (tried to clean some of it up), so may have been interfered with :/ hopefully I'm just blind - thanks for showing a local this spot!
Took a bit to find. Found on our Aussie Mega trip. All logs found on our Mega Victoria trip have been signed as BT, KN, PC or some variation of. TFTC

Found myself in Monbulk with work finished work for the day and some time spare to find a few caches so parked the van and went for a wander.
Great to be able to stroll the path amongst the massive eucalypts and rainforest undergrowth and suck in all the fresh air.
Took a moment at Gz to find it, and only realised where to look as I remembered stepping over an old fence as I approached the tree.
Really could do with a new log as it is pretty full.
TFTC Cheers.

Out and about on a Sunday morning doing some caching with my Daughter.
After doing the nearby multi we made our way to this one. The mud was pretty extreme today. After a short search we had the cache in hand.
Cheers for the cache

Been staying at a friends in Monbulk decided to find a couple on the way home after a super weekend of much food wine and laughter TFTC
Found this after a little looking, it's good to get off the beaten track from time to time. Nice area this, I always find it hard to imagine what places used to look like though...

A gorgeous sunny day for Mark&Kelly and I to be continuing our Plantigrade expedition.
After resorting to the clue, Kelly spotted the well hidden cache, while I caught a pesky pokemon trying to fly into Mark's mouth. Lol

Found it! Out and about with OHC today to knock over some more of the plantigrade series. after picking up a few of the multi-waypoints and the local monster we strolled on over to this little clearing in search of this one.
It was Kelly who spotted the little cling-on just hanging about and as Mark went to retrieve it an amazing thing happened, something called a Zubat appeared and whilst OHC tried to catch it with her orb, it few straight into Mark's mouth. Even here in the bush beside a gurgling stream, these strange little creatures are appearing, bizzare!..TFTC...

Had a 20 minute GAFF1 search, then went back to the car to check the page in GSAK. Hadn't quite searched there, so back I went, and sure enough, hiding away nicely.
Dry and intact O-ring, enough room on the log sheet.
Will add a bookmark for the Challenging Cache elective #4, of which this will be #349, of the 400 required.

Great find, definitely worth the time. We're close by and have passed the spot many times, went during a storm but still a great cache regards of the weather
Tftc such a nice quite and secluded place spent about 5 mins looking in the wrong spot then decided to move my seatch boom found it.
Hubby had to do some work in the area for an hour...hmmm Great excuse to cache in this beautiful weather. Left him and went bush walking near where we got married to get this cache. Explained to the kids that we could see the remnants of a old garden here. The trees are awesome but there is a lot of weeds near, that do not belong in this country. Thanks for the cache day1976. Encountered a muggle and his dog as we reached the path.
This series is certainly intriguing. Shall have to contemplate the multi some day. Picked this one up largely because I was already parked, attending to the nearby mystery cache. Nice soggy little patch of forest here after overnight rain. GPS was predictably underwhelming so I was grateful for the hint. Not so difficult with a tip-off like that. Thanks day1976!
Out and about with the geowife on a hunt in this nice weather before we head out to the cookoo for dinner tftc.
This one had us looking abit . Maybe the canopy interrupted the co ordinates. Several stops to remove leeches and then found what we came for. TFTC
Dee stayed on the trail and I ventured in to the bush to look for this one. I needed the hint, and even then ended up looking at the wrong thing but soon the shiny cache was found and logged. Thanks Day for the cache. I don't think there is any hope of me having the physical or mental stamina to do the series on foot. Kudos to those who do attempt the challenge!
Find #1358 logged at GZ at 11:53, will update shortly.... T4TC day1976!

Found it! Well my Geo-niece Zoe found it! We walked down from Sassafras with a few stops on the way to dangle feet in the creek, munch on sandwiches and exploring here and there! This was a good opportunity to explore a bit more off the beaten track. We followed the GPSr found ourselves under a big tree. The cache was then quickly spotted. Uh oh! No pen!! Geo-niece took a quick photo to prove the find! TFTC We finished our walk at Olympic Picnic Ground and stopped in Kallista for yummy sundaes!!
Doing the round of dandenongs parks and gardens with jcody and decided to have a crack at this one.
Bad GPS got me close to gz and a peek at the hint was supposed to help.
Spotted some (hinted) and a garden so headed off for an easy find. Braved the prickles and checked every (hinted) without a result. Hmm. Time for a rethink. Checked all the (hinted) again. Still no joy. Beat a retreat and went back to the starting point. Stared forlornly into the bush and spied a (hinted). Then another... And another. A little more bush bashing and the prize was spied at the last (hinted).
Thanks for reminding me that smug self assurance is not as good as patiently waiting for a GPS fix and doing it properly the first time.

I don't know why we never got around to doing this, but somehow we hadn't! Nice camellia in bloom. TFTC .
Found with ScifiRulz and the Grouch. I thought I was first to GZ while the others floundered around with stupid GPS's and I tried to find it very quietly. Grouchie came up behind me and realised I was being sneaky but then saw the cache about 4 metres from where I was looking. TFTC
Found as Nicnax with SciFiRulz and WeRAmused. TFTC Great walk to the cache

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch and WeRAmused. Took a little while to spot the hide as the GPS's were not very helpful. Interesting area. TFTC
