4-week family trip through NZ - Find #117!A quick find thanks to the perfect coordinates .TFTC!
There are a few caches on SH7 between Reefton and Ahaura that don't have a big enough parking area for my cachemobile along with my snail shell. So just using the cachemobile I endeavoured to sign them off.I did this one before heading into the camp site.Cheers for the cache, gracie7 + Mum.
Mum was heading to Kaikoura today so stopped to do a random check on this one.All nice and dry so its still all good here. Happy Caching
Quick find after staying in Reefton for night. Going to Greymouth for motorbike street races.

Mum's last Lion Conference was in Cheviot this weekend so we decided to detour via Kiakoura to visit Mums brother. I recalled something about this logbook so we stopped to check on the way home today. Macwatt was right to say that it looked abit sad and we replaced it while we were here. Thanks for the alert. All good here now. Happy Caching
I remember camping here many years ago. Just a quick stop to grab the cache today. TFTC

Today is the second day of my trip from Te Anau back to Wellington via the West Coast. Not much time for caching but I hoped to get a few! This was my second find today - a very quick random park and grab. TFTC.

A few muggles in the shape of bees around providing protection but we were considered safe and addled to approach the cache. TFTC.
We have stayed at the DOC parking area so it was nice to return , lovely bush. TFTC.
This was the twelfth day of my driving trip down to Oamaru for Geofest 2017. I stopped every five to ten kms or so along the way to grab a cache. This expanded my driving time to a total of two weeks to get there and home again. I ended up going a total of 3,500 kms.
I am continuing the long drive back home and picking up caches along he way. TFTC.

We stopped in the dark on the way home from Nelson tonight. The log is pretty dry and didnt look like it had been wet so we left it as is. All good to go here.

A journey of exploration for me as I started out from where I had been staying, yet another lovely area, was going to replace the log but had no paper left (had a bit of a run on replacements). Fixed that when I eventually made Greymouth.
Thanks

Found while on drive heading towards Greymouth. A nice and easy cache and dash, on a sunny morning. TFTC TNLN SL
The cache was swimming in its own swimming pool. We dried it as best we could and re-hid it further up out of the water.

We had to limit ourselves to by the road park n grabs if we were to be in Hokitika by our target time of 5. So it was lucky for us that the CO decided to put one here. Sorry, but we didn't go for the one a bit further in although usually we would.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Travelling today from Blackball to Nelson, we did not have a lot of time to spare so only stopped for a few caches along the way. The name Slab Hut Creek intrigued us so we pulled in here. Spotted the cache immediately out in the open. Returned it to where we think it should have been. TFTC.
Had a great morning of finds with brilliant sunny weather in Greymouth this morning, and this was my destination for the night, a quick find as I swung into the camping area.

I didn't know it when I left Greymouth this morning, but I was headed for Reefton today
So I had not loaded all the caches out this way into the GPS
Having run out of cache symbols on the road, I stopped here, because it just looked like a cache should be hidden here.
The turnoff to Slab Hut Creek campground was marked by a geocache
I made a note that there was a campground nearby, and thus a backup plan for tonight's camp was made if nowhere was found in Reefton.
The cache was as promised an easy find
A bite to eat for lunch was partaken of while I loaded more geocaches into the GPS !!

We planned a nice day from Arthurs Pass to Greymouth, unfortunately the weather meant we didn't leave the car. We decided to change our route and head for Hanmer Springs over the Lewis Pass. An enjoyable stop along the Lewis Pass here. SL. TFTC.
Heading back to Christchurch after a successful weekends caching - we tried to pick up as many of these Lewis Pass caches as time and road conditions would allow. We will certainly have to drive this way again to finish it off.
Lovely area here

It's the final day of NZDi's and my Blenheim - Christchurch - Greymouth - Blenheim triangular caching trip. The plan for the day was to pick up souvenir pack of cards from the coast, by the Wet Coast weather is living up to its name and if it keeps up like this I think we will be heading straight home. The weather report for the Nelson region looks a bit better with no rain, so I have loaded some caches along that route into my mobile just incase we decide to go that way home. Our logs were annotated Kiwimykl and NZDi, KM & ND or variations there of.
After completing the pack of cards series, along with a few others earlier in the day, we had to get another four caches to satisfy NZDi's even number OCD issue. She is not the only cacher with an even number issue... eh capperz. This was the third to last of the day having just got B&W's cache back down the road a bit.
Another QEF PnG... how many times have I said that in the past couple of days

A plan was hatched during the week for a raid on the West Coast on some of the various caches placed over this way. In scope were the pack of cards power trail (gracie7 = mum), some Greymouth ones in town, a Wherigo, Earthcache, missing D/T combo at Blackball, some pre solved puzzle caches and anything else that took our eye on the way past. Setting off with co pilot the seagnoid (I drive, he directs) we left Blenheim at 0600 (should have left at 0500 because we were driving some of it in daylight, and not caching, a waste of daylight!) All up another epic day; just under a hundred finds, 3 or 4 F T Fs, over 700 kms on the speedo, 15 hours driving and some new scenery seen (should that be saw-ery). We saw Wekas (well I did anyway, t S saw a goat on a goat house and lots of coal, but then what do you expect!) The weather was kind, the sun shone a bit and the temp hit 18 degrees at one point, thanks West Coast,
Thanks to all the C Os whose caches we found today, some logs were signed C T S to save some log book space, others a scrawl and the date 2/5.
Time to head back along the road to home, has been a long day so far. Light is starting to go and torches are being looked for again as we approach each cache on the return leg
