With 14 Favourite Points it seems that the Geocaching Community does not take issue with the Hide. As such, no changes will be made.
If one Zealot feels the need to appoint himself as the Caching Police and report a breach of Guidelines then so be it. Perhaps if you have such an Ideological Issue with the hide then you should not claim it as Found.

As per my 'found' log...the cache has been fixated to a living tree with a screw. As you may or may not be aware, damaging the environment to place or create a cache is against the geocaching guidelines that you agreed upon when choosing to place your cache. Apart from the obvious damage to the tree itself and potentially introducing foreign organisms into it, this practice sets a precedence for other geocachers to follow. Furthermore, if local council members or environmental groups see that this is the way people go about placing geocaches, it will not only look bad for geocaching as a whole, but they may take it a step further by banning or implementing restrictions on geocaching in certain areas or states.
I will place a 'Needs Maintenance' log on the cache page for now, and if no action is taken to change or remove the cache, then I will unfortunately have to place a 'Needs Archive' log to bring it to the attention of the reviewers.
Please let me know when you have performed maintenance on this cache so that I don't inadvertently place a NA log for non response.
Thankyou.

Reperio at 1455.
Came down from Newcastle this morning ahead of the 10K Milestone event for The Rats this weekend, and today I had the chance to do a few Illawarra caches. Next in line was this one...and while I loved the idea of the style of cache it is, it was disappointing to see that the tree has been damaged to create it.
Gratias Chip846.

A great Cache idea Chip846 and well worth a favourite. Thanks for showing me this. TNLN SL
Another great cache so close to the last one and also worth the favourite. Even though I have seen these before they still amaze me that no-one sees them. A well executed cache, thanks Chip846.
After a lunch stop at a lovely nearby park we hunted this one down. A fav point from us. Have seen this a few times now but not usually this size. Great cache. TFTC.
Wow, the took a while, it wasn't until GeoDad stopped to scratch his head an ponder that the Cache was soon in hand.. TFTC.. awesome..

Another LIPT this arvo. I became entangled in a spider web during the search. However while looking at the remains of the web....I espied. Soon had the CIH. TL Left a small craft item and a metal slide on book mark. SL, TFTC Chip846. A fav I reckon.
Found this one while in the area while Trac was on hospital. This was one of the last few we did before we headed for home unfortunately leaving Trac behind still in hospital.

We were on our way to the geocaching event with Liz and Bruce & we stopped to find a few caches on the way.
The LIPT trail has led us to some amazing sights & a good variety of caches.
Thanks Chips846 this one was worth a favourite point

Armed with our gps, lunch and pathtags we headed off with Bill and DiMorgan to get in some caching and attend the nearby event. We loved the scenery and enjoyed finding this cache. What an awesome area to go caching in. Thanks to Chip846
What a crafty cache! Probably my favourite in my limited caching career! Left it in a tightly spooled & untangled state. TFTC TNLN SL.
Our 8189th overall find.
Found with FarmerFrentzen on our Christmas break caching trip. Another one of these hides, I like the idea just not a fan of the execution with screws in trees sorry guys. I've seen these done without the need to damage the tree. We found it a moved on.
Thanks Chip846 for the cache.

Found during a run down to Wollongong with Big Matt and Shell.
It had been a little while since we had cached Wollongong and with the publishing of the LIPT we decided it was time to make another trip down south. The weather was near perfect and a very enjoyable day was had making our way around Lake Illawarra and surrounding areas.
Our second find of this nature on the trail.
Thanks Chip846 for the cache.

I was with Chip when this cache was first hidden. It was late and cold on a winter's night. I was sick. I came back later to mark my name in the log, and it was muggled! Third time is a charm, I was here today as the cache was rehidden!
Cheers

Sorry that it took me so long to get this one back online everyone! It is now in position and ready to be found. I forgot that we were out of black tape, so it is now white. Hopefully the locals let it stay!
Sorry for the hold up everyone, I will do my best to get this one back up by next week!
Not having an updated download for the GPSr since returning from NZ we were not aware of the cache being out of action. Had a bit of a look before heading on to a cache that we thought we should be able to get, to find that we were 'muggled' out of the zone for several hours.
Didn't have a recent upload on the GPSr so went and had a look anyway. No luck.
May try again if in the area.

I needed to get out of the house and stretch my legs, so headed down to find some LIPT caches. I figured that this one would be a guaranteed find, seeing as I helped hide it. Anyway, it is muggled! So I'll come back in a few days and replace it. So much for a guaranteed find!

I found it in a spot I'm sure it doesn't belong, I will add a NM to the logs.
We think this cache was moved as it was way out in the open. We have re-hidden it where we think it should have been.
Grabbing a cache a day after work down this way, arrived at GZ & initially wondered if this one might be in a spot that would get flooded but then spied the clever hide & knew that wouldn`t be a problem. Managed to 'reel in" the cache while keeping an eye out for muggles, completed caching duties & secured the cache away from prying eyes. Very clever & quite brazen hide, favourite point from us.

Doing some more of the series today. An easy find after finding one like this before. TFTC Chip Hoojar and Ding.
Found with Katsumar on a big geocaching run around Lake Illawarra on the last day of the Scouts Australia Geocaching competition.
Very cool. After seeing one of these earlier in the day it was a quick find, but nevertheless good fun. Must get one of these up in Sydney!
Thanks Chip846

Great job on this one Chip846, Hoojar & Ding.Things look so much different under torch light.
Glad it wasn’t too difficult as we had only gone out to pick up something for the CDA and told her we wouldn’t be long.
Many thanks for the cache guys. September 15 *tick*

Couldn't find this for ages, but eventually was able to see things from a different perspective .
The D/T ratings certainly make sense, and helped me make the find.
Great cache, thanks Chip846!

Out for an afternoon drive with the Rats. Parking close by we made our way to GZ where Dad soon found the clever technique.
After signing the log I was keen to replace the cache to its original spot.
Thanks

As part of a 1st Keiraville patrol activity tadpole7 organised a bike ride around the lake doing every cache around it. Among us was Benzo latte, Ace7, Toadmyster7, Woody Figtree and Xephos. TFTC!
Found with Toadmiester7, Tadpole7, Xephos, H.J.Smith, Benzo Latte and WoodyFigtree as PArt of a Scout Patrol Activity.

very ingenious cache container took a while to find the mechanism tftc
we did though find a branch cubby/shelter that somebody had been building very close by.

Tadpole7 organised an attempt on the LIPT by bike as her Patrol Activity and with some other 1st Keiraville scouts we headed out. It was decided that a clockwise attempt starting at 1 would be the go. Arrived at GZ with Tadpole7, Ace7, Benzo Latte, HJ Smith, Xephos, Woody figtree and myself. Found the cache safely hidden and thanks Chip846 for your cache. (We do love fishing)
Having done the similar hide a few weeks ago, spotted correct elevation quite quickly though mechanics much smoother here. Coast was clear as I signed the log but a passing muggle and her dog caught me by surprise before I could re-hide it. Staring her straight in the face, she still didn’t see it! Funny how, unless you’re aware you should be seeing something, you just don’t. Guess that sums up caching!
Came out on the bike with Tadpole7, Ace7, HJSmith, Benzo Latte, Xenphos and Toadmeister7 to do a lap of the lake to get the series. With 7 sets of eyes looking we made short work of finding the cache. Thanks to the owner and the ICC for putting the series together.
Hmmm... This one was a little similar to one on the north side of the lake . Cache soon located, then retrieved and log signed on another nice day. TFTC!
Tftc. I got busted red handed again... That's like twice in a month. A few kids came down the hill with bikes and said. What are you doing? I claimed it was an animal catcher and I work for the university. Hopefully it fooled them but kids are cluey these days. Recamoed as could see part of the apparatus very exposed. Sorry chip! Will fave as can't fave one over the other!
Muggled away previously but the coast was clear today. What a great hide! Beautiful sunset over the lake this evening. TFTC!
What a great hide! First I (geomum) have seen of this type. Clue gave it away. TFTC.
Had trouble with the lid as it kept kept popping open and not sealing properly. Got it shut in the end but just hoping it stayed that way. I think with it being flexible the more it gets opened the more chance it might pop.
We loved this one! What an awesome idea!! It was actually geodaughter who cottoned on after seeing something a bit strange in the grass. If going it alone I think I may have been searching here for a while Geodaughter grabbed a bracelet for her efforts and left a coin in return. TFTC!
Great cache, had a bit of a tangle issue but after some time the cache was in hand! TFTC
Had to go early this morning as I knew I didn't have time later on the day. So did my run and rushed over to find a great cache! as I spotted the cache I immediatly started to retrieve it the old fashion way, as I thought that was the way it was placed? Then I felt something that made it a bit easier!!

YAY, out with Baja15 and Chalk and just around the corner. Found at 11.55am. Joint *FTF* had an issue of retrieval and it became 4 terrain. It's really windy here so muggles weren't an issue. The wind is creating an issue. TFTC

Joint FTF on this one, the notification came in as we were only 200 mtrs up the road. Enjoying a cache hunt with friends as we made our way around Lake Illawarra. What a great location to host this series, great idea ICC. I particularly liked the variation in the cache hides and containers. This one was a real challange. I'll leave it at that.. It was extremely windy today and there were some windsurfers and kite boarders screaming across the water. SLTN..TFTC
*FTF* with Baja.15 and J&J.au on our journey around the lake to locate a few caches in this new series. What a beautiful location, but I was not so sure about the weather as it could have easily blown the logs away today. It was a deserved first to find with a tangle making things a little difficult. Loved the surprises along the way and the thought that everyone has put into their caches, thankyou
