Today, I had organised with Freddo and gridge98 to ride the Northern Expressway bikeway to complete the *Nexy Challenge* series geocaches. We rode the full distance, and then in the afternoon, jesswrigley and I visited the south-eastern end of Cleland Conservation Park and took a few walks around the area. The day began cold spitting a little, but towards the afternoon, it turned out to become quite warm and not too hot; almost the perfect day to be outside and hiking.
Freddo, gridge98 and I had set off early to complete this series. Both gridge98 and I had yet to find these geocaches, and Freddo had recently acquired these and was in the process of performing maintenance for a few that had accumulated DNFs. We rode past here, stopped, and managed to find this cache reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Burton's for the cache placement, and equipe de cinq for its ongoing maintenance.
I had wondered why this cache had been so popular, and realised that it was a rare geocache that hadn't had a size selected ("not chosen").

Today I headed out with the godfather (Freddo) and Davidwazza to complete the next challenge trail and start the next big thing. A nice ride along the trail for the whole 50km as we went from Gawler to Port Adelaide. A great day out with over 40 finds.,
Thanks for the cache

Nice find on a perfect cycling day! Logbook too wet and perished to sign. Have put in new logsheet TFTC
Back at it again found with Northstar76, last for the day. Thank you for hiding these.
Found with superman_22. Thanks for hiding these, yeah I know I said that last one was it but I thought I had to wait for my ride why not go to the next one. Now I have to walk back. Lol
Found but log was sodden. Placed or should I say folded n folded a piece of paper in the tiny cache and sealed back up tightly. Signed new log and on my way. TFTC!
Been planning another Friday afternoon for ages. Finally decided to do it today so got the bike loaded in the Ute last night.
Thinking I could have picked a better day as it was so windy this afternoon. Luckily though the rain held off so it was just wind to contend with.
Had a makeshift lunch with the geohusband and hound at work and then headed out here to try and get 20’pr so caches.
Had a few dnfs and a few manly logs but the rest were all found easily in the obvious spots.
Some nice history panels to read.
The big ride back to the Ute almost finished me off but made it before the heavens opened.
Stopped for Scooby snacks on the way home. Great caching afternoon will plan another trip to hopefully collect the rest.

Day 4 of a dedicated geotrip from QLD to SA to tick off lots of boxes for Kestal and Mrs Esky...today we are slowly caching our way north to Moonta travelling in the company of Aussie M & M who are driving/navigating...this one made the list because of its size. A nice morning walk for a couple of caches before the heat of the day kicked in. Quite a few bikes in the area today. TFTC Burton's.
The second of two not chosen sized caches targeted here. A straightforward find just before 8am. TFTC Burton's
Caching with friends kestal and Eskies5 from Toowoomba today. The girls were focussed on certain attributes and dates of cache placements. Two on the Nexy trail had an unchosen size attribute that meant they were needed so we parked nearby and made the finds. We grabbed another to make it three found here today.

After visiting Gawler over several years at my sisters place, it was about time that we got out and rode the Nexy. Started at the Gawler end, just sat on the bikes and the heavens opened up, by the time we got onto the Nexy it had stopped and the sun was out. I didn't know that we had shifted to Melbourne so quickly. Not to be deterred on we went to our designated turn around point, the second of the puzzle Nexy caches. Had to replace a couple of logs and containers. Great day TFTC equipe de cinq
The Nexy Challenge #38 was transferred from Burton's to user equipe de cinq
For quite some time now i have being wanting to do this group of caches. Today is a beautiful 26 degrees, and that was all the motivation i needed. So i packed my gear, jumped on my bike and caught a train out to Gawler.

Log book was unfortunately soggy and mouldy and so i took it out and replaced with a new piece of paper just so I could stamp and log a find
No work today meant an opportunity for a morning ride and cache with Hill2Sea. The return wind was a bit cruel to our inexperienced legs, thanks for the hunt this morning
Another Nexy signed off. This one was a little damp, maybe the o ring has perished.
Quick find on the way home from work.

The morning started in reverse. Gawler to Nexy Challenge #13. All finds were made with #Bones5 on bikes (no lycra in sight). The morning had us riding into the wind for the journey ahead. Was great to have a day out biking not hiking!!! A wet log was found. Thanks.
Strollin' up to GZ here deserved a small celebration !!
I've finally visited all the NEXY Challenge sites !!
After finding the cache,
I popped open the can of fizzy cola I had brought with me

Today we decided to don our bike helmets and pump up the tyres and see how we go on the Nexy. Miss 10s bike was too small, Miss 14 recovering from shoulder surgery, Mr emilyangels bum not used to small seats.....this was going to be a tough ride and a sore night. But the ride was completed with no bandaids needed which surprised us all. Great family day out thankyou.
Visiting Adelaide for the TDU. Huge apologies; started logging finds (and my DNF) the night I rode the series but was burning the candle at both ends, ran out of time and clearly forgot to go back and log them. Now that I'm planning this year's trip I've discovered the problem. Thanks for the great, bike friendly series....I even have some photos from the series.
Someone had place the cache in the bike sign inside the farmers paddock. This cache was never in the sign due to the sign being on private property.
This cache is now a bison tube and is attached in place. Please leave it as you find it.

Found on another trip out to the Stuart O'Grady bikeway. After getting a puncture on each of my three previous rides out here was determined not to let the tyres off the black stuff and managed to get back to the car with inflated tyes and only three of the Nexy left to finish off.
Used some locally available material managed to retrieve cache and left it where I guessed it had come from, but I may be wrong
Thanks for the cache Burton's

Found cache but unable to sign as it has fallen from location and landed in paddock.
Another great find on a geocaching trip around the area.
Thanks for putting up this cache and the series and making my visit fun.

Muggle partner dropped me off at Gawler where I met Snap Happy at the start of the Nexy trail.
We rode, we cached (Peter more than me as I had already found a few caches on the trail) and then later we drove out to Stockport, still caching
I ended the day with 20 finds and 1 DNF on Nexy #22, which will soon be rectified.
We pedalled, we laughed, we found caches and we found muscles that we weren't sure we had
Due to my having an appointment in Gawler, we had to stop halfway through but we will return to complete the rest!
Snap Happy was quite happy when he said 'that's a puzzle cache' and I replied 'that's ok, I've solved it'
Thanks for the fun and the exercise

Headed over to SA for a planned trip, and fortunately Sorceysal was able to accompany me at short notice, meaning I wasn't stranded here doing the trip solo. I'd done this series previously with Skippy and Semik a couple of years ago, while replacing the eclipse containers with the pre-forms. Today SS and I headed down here to grab the new ones, I see now taken over by my good friends, The Burton's. Thanks Lee and Jim for taking this great series on, always good to jump on the bike for a run. Most were easy finds, and although I suffered multiple punctures at one cache about halfway (While climbing on the bike to reach a higher cache), we made it through to the end. All good fun
Day two of our epic road trip with the Bogonghazys as we get nearer to our goal of the geoart fish series. A great day with lots of finds and laughs along the way. This is certainly a cache rich state and my many thanks for the Cachers of South Oz for all the effort you have put in placing these caches for us to find.
Love the series and the opportunity to stretch the legs. Thanks for the cache Burton's

Day Three of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747 - The Nexy Challenge!
We had done the previous incarnation of the Nexy series a while ago, so we didn't need to redo #1-#7.
The forecast said 20 degrees and overcast, light breeze - perfect riding weather.
Dragged out the deadly treadlies and hit the trail at #45 and rode southish.
Really liked how most of the caches were about 500 meters apart, it made it a decent ride between stops. We got into the swing of the container and hide technique fairly quickly, so the time zipped past.
Took us about 2 hours to ride down caching, and about 45 minutes to ride back (counting lunch at the cemetery/picnic spot, and afternoon tea at the new picnic spot.
Completed the last 2 (#46 & #47) on the way back to the car.
Thanks for a really nice ride, and a pile of caches to draw us here. (and the nice puzzles to keep us occupied on night shift )
Thanks, Robmc.

# 7555. Here we are in Adelaide on day 3 of our lovely long holiday. We did the previous series of Nexy caches back in 2012. Today the forecast was for no wind (who makes up these stories), and a mild day. Well yes it was overcast and mild I sujppose.
We really enjoyed the ride on this great path - we started at #45 and enjoyed our lunch break near the Zoar Cemetery that I explored on the last visit. It is a very noisy shelter area here though with the trucks zooming past and no trees to break the noise. We rode on to finish the last 3 before turning around.
We had a speedy ride back but did stop at the other shelter on the trail to enjoy a snack break before the last few kilometres.
Only 5 caches of the series warrant separate comments: -
#41 - the sole eclipse tin - the log book is just a tad too wide and extraction was extremely difficult. A pair of scissors worked as tweezers otherwise we would not have succeeded.
#40 - has been saturated at some stage but the inside of the log book is OK.
#36 - the container lid on this one is broken and crumbling. We emptied the soggy and sodden mess of old sheets and left a new rite-in-the-rain log sheet here, so all should be OK until the container is replaced.
#31 and #27 have also both been saturated at some stage but the inside of the log books are OK.
Thanks Burton's

I am finally doing the Nexy challaenge series with my little bike. I must say I bought a folding bike but I could not fit it in my small boot. Then the neighbour was giving away a little bike and I grabbed it. I had to paint it silver because it was pink with purple. Lol
Nice easy puzzles, which were good, I enjoyed solving them.
All were good until half way then grass thorns punctured my tyres because I was using my bike as my ladder as I could not reach the cache from the sign. (I am only five foot tall) So I decided to walk the rest (20Kms) to finish them off.
Thanks for the challenge I enjoyed myself. .

We had completed the first version of the NEXY caches some time ago and at the same time, had found the first seven caches in this series, Since then The Nexy Challenge series had been extended and today our intention was to look for all the remaining caches along the walking/riding trail. Between us we walked the trail from #08 to #47. It was quite warm but a gentle breze at times did help.
Accurate coordinates led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Burton's for reinstating the series along the expressway and thanks for this csche.

Quick easy find while walking the NEXY with my Geomut. It really is very relaxing. - TFTC
Change of plans today due to unforeseen circumstances saw me hire a bike instead and hit the Nexy trail, riding the full length followed by a quick stop in Gawler and then the express journey back. There were a few DNF's but for the most part the caches were all in good condition.
This was find number 34 of 42 for the afternoon for me. TFTC Burton's!

Easy find.
If cachers aren't getting containers and signing the log, their find should be deleted. That is part of the challenge!!

What an awesome day for a bike ride.
We started in Gawler and coasted on the tail wind down hill towards the air base. We were careful not to exert ourselves too much in case we rode too fast and generated a headwind. [8)]
Clear skies to Burton's from TeamAstro.

Mr Tardis, Mr Scoobster and Mr froghoppin decided to hit this trail today on our trusty mountain bikes. We had a great time and managed to find all in the series without any DNF's - YAY! Most of them were quick finds in quite a logical place for this powertrail.
All the containers and logs were in good condition.
Overall a really nice bike ride to get some exercise and some caches.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Burton's and the effort in putting out and maintaining this series.

Staying in Gawler, on our 2nd trip around Australia.
Headed out today, to do The Nexy Challenge.
With only 1 electric bike, geo-hubby drew the short straw, and got dropped off at the start.
Geo-wife picked up a few in the area, before returning to the end of the series, to wait.
Apart from being a but chilly, it was an easy ride, mostly along level ground.
All the caches were found quickly, signed and replaced as found.
Many thanks for the hunt today, Burton's.

On our tour of Australia via Oz Mega we are currently staying at Highway 1 Caravan Park.
A lateish start today as has become our custom . We joined forces with iluvtrekking so we could get the bikes out and about (needed their car for the bike rack!)
What a fabulous day, great company some interesting caches and no rain!
Sadly there were a few DNF's, but still was a fabulous day to ride the electric bikes.
All in all, a successful fun day was had whilst finding geocaches! That's what Geocaching is all about isn't it.
Thanks for helping us meet our objective today with your caches.

Team Crackers mentioned they were prepared to complete The Nexy Challenge while in town so we were more than happy to go along. I love the Nexy trail and now that I've found all of these new caches I'll be able to ride end to end uninterrupted ;-P Seriously, we really had fun along the trail -- had lots of laughs. I'm ashamed to admit that Spook was able to go so much faster than I could handle! I tried to keep up with him and nearly collapsed a lung! haha. Really great fun, thanks Burton's!
We were coming back after spending a couple of days in Portland with Dad and thought that we would try our luck with another part of this series and also have another look for a couple we couldn't find on our last visit. We weren't sure how we would go starting at the wrong end but the parking turned out to be easy and safe.
The only problem we had was crossing the road to get to the caches as there were heaps of cars using the road today. We aren't sure if it was the holidaymakers heading back home or people avoiding the roadworks and taking the more scenic route. We had a great time collecting all the caches along here with the various hides and saw quite a few curious cows. Thw wind blew a gale for most of the time we were there but it did create some great white caps on the reservoir near the end of our journey. With so many caches found in such a short time we apologise for the generic log but we can say we really enjoyed this section of the series and found these to be easier hides than the first section was for us.
Thanks D'Belco for breaking up our journey. We came over to sort out a few details with The Oz Mega committee and mentioned that we would like to try the Nexy series. Semik & Skippy said that they would like to do it as well and after a long talk with the white bear Southerncross Caching also decided to join in. With hangovers in hand we arrived here this morning with full intentions of taking notes of each hide. Unfortunately all the good humored banter and friendly rivalry got in the way. We had 2 dnf's early in the piece at numbers 3 & 5 but luckily Skippy and Semik had spare containers in the car so after completing the series we returned to replace these two caches. We apologise for the generic log but on the day fun got in the road and the note pad never came out of the pocket. We can see we really enjoyed the ride and the company and also some of the metal signs along the way.
