Didn't find it but I now note previous logs indicating it needs maintenance.
Have had reports this cache is missing. Will attempt to get there and check when weather improves. Thanks Cankid for letting me know.
On a flying visit to Canberra and noticed a lot of newer caches around the Pinnacle. A lazy morning to try and get lots of smileys. A quick find with a bit of help from previous clues. Very inventive hide shall we say? Log is a bit wet but I didn't have time to dry it out. TFTC!
He he he - first time I've seen that kind of hiding spot. I was out this morning with a friend and did this on the way to Mt Painter. TFTC
I go round the nearby roundabout a few times each month, on my way to/from various quilt meetings/etc. nearby in Cook, but for some reason I had not yet got around to stopping g and looking for this cache (probably because I always seem to be in a hurry to get hoe/somewhere else, or it is late at night and I need to go home and sleep - lol ... and I think I was waiting until I had time to do this one and another one at the same time) ... But this particular afternoon I had been to yet a other quilting thing, and was waiting for a reply to my text message to find out if I needed to turn right and head home, or left and head to my friends place ... so rather than wait in the car park in Cook, I decided to take the opportunity and head to the roundabout and go straight ahead, and find this cache. Turns out that turning left then pulling over would have got me a lot closer, but I went straight ahead and parked in a spot where I knew I could drive off the road ... which was actually a longer walk to GZ - but it was a nice walk through the trees and gave me some really nice views/photos of the storm clouds and rain to the South
I had an idea that this cache might be something like it turned out to be, but when I got to GZ and found a tree that was surrounded by signs of a lot of digging around I thought to myself " oh great - someone has probably buried the darn thing while looking for it" ... so I scuffed around a bit in the same spot for a minute or so ... then decided to have a look in a slightly wider search area (hmmm - novel idea - why not look a couple feet away from the tree, where my phone actually says GZ is? - lol) and sure enough, I spotted ... something ... Yes - there ... iT ... was, just sitting there, looking like ... what it looked like - I was not surprised at the camo, but I had a good chuckle anyway
TFTC - nice little spot to go for a walk/admire the view/take photos, and a nice way to spend a little while waiting for a text message (my answer came just as I arrived at GZ, and I did get to go and visit my friends - who also laughed when I showed them a photo of the cache

A quick find on the way home after picking up the missus from Hawker College. Nice camoflage. TFTC.
Ha ha, didn't expect that! Interesting one! I had to go out of the box with my thinking to find this. Thanks
As this was the last day of my holidays I thought I'd go on a bit of a caching expedition and explore The Pinnacle reserve. Something to give me happy memories while sitting in the office tomorrow. This one was the third of fourteen attempted. But I could not find it.
This one took me ages. I was on the wrong track from the start. When I did find it I realised luck plays a part. I did not encounter a snake in the long grass so that was sufficient luck for me.
Found 7:54 pm. I needed to do my daily find and I didn't want to try anything too adventurous or too time consuming so this cache was on my radar. I reached a few metres away from GZ but on the wrong side of the fence so I decided the path through was a better option than trying to scale the barb wire fence. I really don't understand why they have these fences. On the right side I approached GZ and figured whereabouts it probably was so I started to look and the usual give aways were not apparent. Then I discovered something, not at all what I was expecting I guess but I kind of get the cache description now. Tentatively checking that I was correct I soon had the log out and signing it. For the novelty I will do a fav. Thanks for cache. Replaced as found.
Didn't set out to do this one today - just another nearby one, but having grabbed that one so quickly decided to go for this one too. After walking straight past this one the first time it was a case of Whoa!!! Yes this was the cache. Another great camo and was pleased to have the log in hand, signed and returned. SL TFTC gecko1968.
Yet another beautiful spring day. Other commitments resulted in a late start today, but with daylight savings, there was no real threat of running out of light. So I headed off to The Pinnacle at the back of Weetangera. While it is definitely not flat, the is a relatively high concentration of caches there to make a circuit on foot worthwhile.
In a word - nasty. It was the seam that gave it away. Tftc geck1968.

It was a glorious sunny afternoon and an opportunity to do some tracking to this cache. I walked up and around and eventually found the needle in the haystack but didn't get pricked on it thankfully. Enjoyed the container.
Another clever hide from Gecko, thanks for the fun today!
Cheers

Sunday 3 August 2014 - glorious sunny and crisp winter's afternoon and it became bitterly cold as soon as the sun set behind the mountains. Some 6km later and 10 caches in the bag it was a wonderful way to end the weekend. Quick and easy cache. Thx p2p. TFTC.
What a top container!!!! The dogs and I walked to this one, and found it easily, because it had been partially muggled - it was sitting upside down, clearly visible. So I hid it. I'll write you a private note to tell you where it is.
While out completing the Mining the Answer cache's I headed through this area for a hike.
First cache in the area for the long part of my walk and wasn't too hard to find, however loved the container

#2195 - 18:10; Grabbed this one on the way home from an appointment in a nearby suburb. While it was dark by this time, the trusty torch made light work of the hunt and the log was soon signed and the cache returned before I jumped back into the geomobile and headed home. TFTC gecko1968
This cache container is so wrong! But it does fit with the theme. Grabbed this one at night after getting a couple of the others in the area. Thanks for the cache
Found on a nice morning in Belconnen. I was always confused to how to get this one, so we just parked on the other side of the road and then crossed it to get to GZ. Didn't even know which side of the fence it was on. Once at GZ, it took a minute or two to uncover. When I first spotted it, I thought it was some venomous! LOL! But it was the complete opposite. Such a cool container. TFTC gecko1968!
After doing the 50 Places to See series, I still had a bit of energy so grabbed a few more that afternoon. This was one. TFTC
After being at the farmers markets we headed to the Pinnacle Nature Reserve to go cache hunting.
This was a pleasant walk as the morning was nice & cool. We found a variety of caches all in good condition.
We parked our car here & this was our 1st find, unusual container.
Thanks gecko1968 for placing the cache here.

Ah, that was a shock. It looked like it could bite. A favourite from me. TFTC.
After spending time climbing Mount Painter we collected this one on our way back home. Given our recent brush with nature caution was taken, but not needed. TFTC
Been meaning to pop in and grab this one for ages. Indeed an amusing cache. TFTC
Found this with my Dad fitzy_1965 and sis Stardust2410. Finally catching up with my logs.

7419 + 877 = 8296. The next of a surprising 12 cache finds today ! Found with GSC2000 and Stardust2410.
As it was approaching dusk I treaded carefully to GZ and started the search. With lots of suggestions being supplied about where to look from the safety of the car - some crappy some not - I eventually traced this one down. Nice ! Signed log (after heart calmed down...)
Thanks again gecko1968 ! A Favourite Point. Have you done one of McPhan's Puzzle caches ??
TNLN - TFTC !!

Never been to this part of Canberra before - very beautiful. I was looking for caches in Tidbinbila a few days ago when at GZ for one cache I came upon 2 brown snakes - so I was a little startled when I uncovered your cache - fun thanks.
Not sure which was the best way to attack this one, but once at GZ the interesting cache was found after a short dance around the area. Haven't seen one of those for a while......
Thanks gecko.....
Thanks gecko.....
Another lovely afternoon of caching with Sitehounder and geohound. An easy find. TFTC.
This was the second find for Mack96 and myself in our weekly kid-free caching afternoon. An easy one, once we had figured out which side of the fence it was.

First stop of the morning on a great 10km wander through, around, over and behind the Pinnacles with the geo-hound. Naturally enough he is currently asleep at my feet.... should keep him quiet for at least another few minutes.

Injuryman and I were quite tired after finding a bunch of caches on Mt Tennant today, but we're glad we stopped and grabbed this one - great cache.
This was a king size example of one of these. Quite a surprise. Thanks.

Was wondering when I would come across one of these. Made me laugh out loud. TFTC
7239. [green]It was dark by the time I finished my chores (painting the white picket fence etc.) so decided on the spur of the moment to grab this one on the way past. Glad I'm tall enough to step over cause if I ripped my work clothes.... Icky find - loved it. [/green]
[blue]Thanks for the cache gecko1968 and the extrusion. [/blue]

2418. Found this one in the fading light. I had to give it a prod just to make sure. TFTC.
I was a bit reluctant to pick it up initially but persevered. Nice container and TFTC gecko1968.
621. Ah, so this is what they look like...
A fun cache, even though parking proved abit of a challenge with the masses flocking to and fro the various Open Days today; reminds me, the Skywhale made an appearance at UC today.
TFTC once again gecko1968! Keep up the good caches!

He he he ... love this type of hide - but haven't found one exactly like this before! Now for a quick U-turn on the road, to head further North! Thanks gecko!
My son, DJQuiggleSticks, and his partner, the ScarlettLeprechaun, were visiting from the Gong so we decided to have a hike through the Pinnacle to grab the available caches. I had already found a few of them so it was great to grab the new ones like this one. After our hike we were met by my non-caching geowife for a picnic in the nature park. A great way to spend the last day of winter. TFTC Gecko.
I was almost giving up when the CO saw me at GZ, visited me and showed me the cache. Oh my goodness, I am really too blind for geocaching!
Nice to meet you, gecko1968! It was a pleasure to talk to you. And TFTC!
