Ah, play chicken with a jurassic Kow was transferred from UltimateGeoCacheTeam to user Sol de lune
Spotted this one on approach so the container and logbook were soon in hand. Another neat outer container that should bring a few smiles for finders. Thanks for another UltimateGeoCacheTeam, cache all good.
Found by caughtatwork on 01/11/2024 at 10:00:00 AMA easy find after a bit of a stroll from the carpark. Track was in good order.Took nothing, left nothing. Thanks for placing this geocache here for us to find today, for without those who like to hide geocaches, there would be nothing around for those who like to find geocaches.*Overall Experience: 3*GAFF1
Rated: for Overall Experience
21 September 2024 2:34pmFound in good condition with catnap777.A quick find as we started our "trex" down Ah Kow Track. Day one was mostly spent rounding up caches in the "Rocky" series. [B)] This was day two of our assault on Lerderderg which had us making our way as far along Square Bottle Track as "Whiskey Creek Circuit...Worth Bottlin'" before heading back to the car and relocating further south for a bit of a go at Ah Kow Track on the other side of Mt Blackwood. It was a ripper day that started back in Hepburn Springs (where we had spent the night) looking over a couple of Earth Caches there, before making our way to Lerderderg for another walk in the park.
21 September 2024 14:33Just because we didn't think we had done enough hiking this weekend, dalerious and I decided to drive to this end of the park, hop out the car and go for another hike through the hills. This is after claiming 4 Rocky caches and undertaking 5 >10km walks, so far. After enjoying a leisurely stroll finding and signing this series, we noticed another traditional a kilometer further down the track; ah, what the hell, you only live once right.Boy, what a journey that was........but that's another story which I will tell later. Was so lovely to see the themed containers still in existence for this lot. It made for a fun trek. You have a wonderful sense of humour mudbrick. We especially loved Storm in a C Cup!All caches were found in good condition. Thank you UGCT for looking after these gems. Please note I will use this same log for all along Ah Kow trail, except "gesundheite".
Fun find for the kids. Lid of metal tin is gone, paper a little soggy. Beware of dinosaurs.
Last cache of the day, and dad and Peta wandered down to this one while everyone else was thoroughly distracted by the friendly horses. We found the cache easily enough then amused ourselves making the container talk in funny voices.Love the cache containers up here in the forest by this CO, a refreshing change from sistemas thrown under a tree.
A great series along the trail, enjoying the view and the great company of deanside. This one made us laugh.
Thanks UltimateGeoCacheTeam for placing this cache and contributing to this great game. Nice cache that would not last I’d placed anywhere but out here plus a lovely walk. Out with Connieandrick enjoying this fabulous day Happy trails, Deanside

*Cache find # 14704.*
The hamfish had arrived at the carpark, we both got what we needed for a bit of a stroll which ended up being 17.5 kilometres which took us 6 hour & 50 minutes.
This was the first in the loop that we had set off to do, we arrived at this one and while I was sorting out me leaking water problem, Michael found the cache, one down and a few more to go.
**Thanks to Mudbrick & UltimateGeoCacheTeam for placing this cache.**

Lol well that was interesting hmm let's hope the rest of the caches are as amusing as this one was. (Yep they mostly were - and the trail is super nice, loved the bush smells and the location of each cache)
Nice quick find at the start of a walk which will hopefully be a good day out. Tftc
Aaaargh!! The huge mosquito thing is!! Think I'd rather a cave with bats! I did sign the log...eventually TFTC
Out today in the dog.. found quite easy enough, log in perfect condition. Thankyou for this find
Having a day out in the Lederderg Forest and collecting a few caches while i enjoy this area Im enjoying the slightly warped sense of humour i detect here. TFTC mudbrick
That feeling you get when you see eyes peering at you… That feeling you get when the kookaburras laugh right before you find the cache… I’m not sure how far we will get visiting this series but we are willing to give it a good crack. The conditions are good. Absolutely loved this cache. The stuffing was a lovely added flavour. I could sit here all day! Apparently dinosaurs also eat unicorns. Interesting! TFTC
Magic live it
Just a warning ️ for anyone take care as a tornado has been through here and ripped the tops out of some of the trees and they are stuck up in the air so be careful not to walk under them incase they fall on you

TFTC - After being in lock down during Covid we decided to get out and collect a few smilies. Love the cache!
Tftc. My what BIG teeth you have... and it ate the chicken... we were lucky we survived this one, manage to sign the log before getting eaten.
Tftc - great day out in a beautiful area. I love how these takes you places you would never see...
This started out as a hike. Then I decided that since I prefer trail running, maybe I'd wear my running gear so as to speed things up. Then while deciding where to go/what caches to chase, I decided to include a walk along Lerderderg Gorge where there is no path. So was it a hike? Was it a trail run? I'm going to call it an adventure run. There was running, there was hiking, there was wading along and across the river, there was scrambling down and climbing up. And there was geocaches
17km, 670m of elevation gain, 5hrs and 13 caches later, I returned to my car. What a day!
Thanks

I am itching to come back and finish this track off and go all the way down to the waterfall. Some more big adventures are ahead for me in the caching world. TFTC!
Found these caches on a cold but not too bad day. Each one was a clever play on words apart from one which appears to have been replaced. Met Perpetuallylost when just heading back and enjoyed his company. Many thanks to mudbrick and the UltimateGeocacheTeam for placing and maintaining the caches.
After attending two events at Pikes Res today i had plans to kayak there afterwards to find some of the mystery caches hidden around there. But with the weather turning nasty i had this small series of caches recommended to me to find instead.
I found the first three or four in order before deciding to head straight to the last one in case the rain set in then work my way back to the car. It was at the last cache i met up with Alansee and we then teamed up and headed back together.
A great series of caches, loved the novelty cache companions and the play on words in the titles. Thx mudbrick for placing and to the UltimateGeoTeam for maintaining. Cheers!

Found a bit of spare time today so I thought I would use it productively and find a few caches.
A couple of different walking tracks to take but I was after the one that had a few cache’s on it.
Parked the Geocruiser, picked the right track and off I went in search of a few more.
Now a Jurassic Kow that would be a sight to see and may be a bit scary,
Didn’t know I was near an old volcano as well.
Thanks mudbrick & UltimateGeoCache Team TFTC.

A nice quick find for this one with a laugh as 9yo geokid was spooked by what he thought was a huntsman however there was no evidence of it inside the cache at all, so it was signed and returned as found. TFTC
I had been meaning to drop in on old mate Ah Kow for quite some time, but with a lot of caches nearby, never seemed to get here. Today my aim was to get out fairly early, find the Ah Kow Track caches, visit Ah Kow's camp and maybe even get up to the Pinnacles, before racing home for a little sleep before nightshift.
This was the first find for the day and certainly had Mudbrick's fingerprints all over it. Muddy's caches always bring a smile to my face. I can only think of the hours that he must have spent in his workshop over the years. Thanks UGCT for keeping his legacy going on this fine piece of Australian bushland.

First stop on the track. Welcome site although gourlish scenario for my imagination. Nice double camo. CIGC TNLN TFTC
Over the last month have been out getting caches within 10km of home, trying to fill our calendar.
GPS was loaded with caches, computer away for repairs, so had to wait to log them all.....

Found with FUF009 while on the way to an event in the general area. This was an unplanned stop, aren't those the best ones? Very neat cache too. I'll have to come back and do the rest. Tftc
Find # 4348 @ 1000 H
Found with sharkiefan.
Heading up to the "15 Years of Events in Victoria" event we decided to grab a few caches along the way.
after a short walk, we were greeted with a great hide. quite an interesting cache container and well worth the walk down too.

We had a great afternoon last weekend venturing along the Ah Kow track with 2 adults, 9 kids and 3 dogs. The kids had so much fun navigating and scampering around the bush racing to find each cache. The dogs were enjoying the freedom. Anticipation was building as we journeyed along excited to see what the next suprise would be!! Unfortunately we had to cut the trip short as tummies were rumbling and the sun was dissappearing.
Thanks for a great series!! Hopefully we'll be back to finish it soon

The Bazinga clan came up to Lerdy for a hike and make the most of the warm weather before winter.

Great clues. Out walking with the pram... great way to spend a Sunday. This track is great to do with the kids too.... maybe leave a car in Darley at the other end so you can do the whole track without having to come back.
Another classic mudbrick cache. The cache, the info supplied and the cache name are just brilliant. Had a good laugh at this one. Well done mudbrick, thanks for the cache.
Another good find while geocaching in the area today.
Was after dark when I arrived at this walkway, nice night so decided to get the first 8 caches by torchlight.
Impressed at the almost bizaar containers in this series - fun finds.

Cool, down to using the phone for GPS which is quite a challenge for me but today worked well. Bit scary putting fingers into this hidey hole. TFTC
Out for the day with Mrs Juc to visit some spots we've both wanted to go to and with the added bonus of being allowed to grab some caches. Today's destination was Lergerderg Gorge and wow, the caches we did certainly didn't disappoint ! A range of hides, some walking, some drive-bys, but all good fun.
We enjoyed the walk from the Aussie View down to this one, marvelling at the ancient equipment on the way and finally figuring out what the devil those treated pine structures at the gate were for. D'oh...obvious when you think about it...
At GZ, the swinging needle had us looking at a few possible hides before the lair was uncovered. Mrs Juc jumped a mile when the coverings were removed. Great container/camo and hide !! Very well done Mudbrick !
Thanks!

Our last find on our way back to the car. Wish we could have finished the walk but the weather and light conditions conditions are letting us down now. Thanks mudbrick for another fun cache, we will need to come back to finish it off.
Suscoe decided to have a day out in the Bacchus Marsh and beyond regions today. It was a pleasant day, cool to mild with a bit of cloud covering the sky for most of the day.
At least it was dry and we did enjoy our wanderings here and there.
We like this part of the world but sadly don't get up this way often enough.
The roads were pretty quiet today all the way around from home back to home again.
An enjoyable walk to GZ even though it was short.
A quick find and we did smile alot.
Thanks to mudbrick for this hide.
On the way back to the car the local horses came over to say hello and then the local guardians arrived barking loudly.
The bigger guardian kept a respectful distance, the little guardian as is oftern the case with little canines let their presence be noted with a close approach to the car.
Oh well at least the dogs were happy in fulfilling their duties.

A little further on and I was soon scouring the scrub for a likely hide.
Then the aha moment hit, that looks likely.
Nicely done with the cammo it was too.

Thanks for the cache. Great hide!! Excellent description and sense of humour on display here. Log is getting a bit full, but signed no problem this time. If hides are this entertaining, this is going to be a fun track. Great start so far. Cheers!
First one on the Ah Kow track with Clint&Abby, and it was great to see a very creative container. It makes you look twice before putting your hand in there. Nice bones also.

Travelling around Australia and we are currently staying in Woodend.
Well with fine weather forecast we decided to head out towards Blackwood.
Another great day using Geocaching as our guide. Such a lovely area, a really great day.
Oh wow didn't Mr Felix have fun completing this series just fabulous mudbrick, everything to keep you entertained and guessing on the way to the next. He took loads of photo's and even video to show Mrs Felix that's how highly he thought of your caches.
Definite fave from Mr Felix

I have been meaning to to a few more of this series but I am always hesitant to venture into the gorge on my own. Today I had Tess the geodog for company and it was a perfect day for getting a few of these turned into smilies. Love your work and your humour muddy.
Gave a bit of a giggle when I reached GZ. You have a great imagination and makes your caches worth finding. Adding a fave Graham. Cheers Caz

Today was my monthly caching run with Biggles Bear, and the area today was around Mt Blackwood. The bulk of the caches were along a couple of great walks, with a few extras around Bacchus Marsh at the end. Great walk and easy find.
My thanks to mudbrick for the cache.

Today I was caching with the geokids (aged 4 & 6) around Myrniong. Boy are we glad we kept walking! What a great cache. Master 4 was scared but master 6 was the hero! And I just loved the chicken! Fab caches for kids! Alas this was as far as we could walk so we turned around and wandered back hoping to get the first cache we couldn't find. Brilliant - many thanks
Found 9:58:00 AM, found in the company of Muzza, during our regular monthly caching expedition. This month we chose to head out into the wild of the Lerderdeg State Park and environs to collect some of the caches there.
TNLN, thanks mudbrick.

How can this not be a favourite? Wow, Mudbrick - awesome Jurassic work here !
And this was the final of 16 caches today.
What an epic hike that was in the Lerderderg today!
Started 8.30am and finished after 7pm. At the end of the day, 19km covered in 10-and-a-half hours through some tough terrain that certainly started taking its toll by the end of the day.
A great team and company organized by Greg (Jacko) and led by the CO himself.
Thanks for everything, Muddy - when are we going again?

Found as part of the G Team adventure into the Lerderderg. I like this one, it made me smile. Thanks Mudbrick for bringing me here today as well as the history and geology lesson - I like volcanos and especially like that there is an old one just over there.
One last cache to grab before the big hike and what a vicious cache this one was. I would not want to get on the wrong side of this one or i might end up a skeleton.
Thanks for the cache mudbrick.

Found by Mary & David at 1200. The poor chicken seems to have come off second best in this 'game'. Still managed to get it away from its tormentor and retrieve the container before leaving it to its fate as found. Our thanks to mudbrick.
A dingo ate my baby.

We had missed this pair on the way in as we had been looking for the new caches so realised they were close to were we had parked the car to pick up on the way back. [red]Find #1891 Trad #1621[/red]
As we made our way from the nearby old Aussie carpark we were now on the path with plenty of tree protection from the morning sun. This was a quick detour from the path and was spotted quickly. A fun cache and we also wondered about the bones too.
We had the morning to cache after Granny offered to look after the little Na'wals. We decided to look at a walk in the Lerderderg State Park and wanted to get out early before the very hot day that was forecast. 42deg plus strong winds but we had done our homework and were happy to make the trip in. Alchey joined my geo wife and myself for the trip. We were very glad the walk was over once back at the car, a great morning it was before the very hot winds and sun. Stamped and replaced as found.

This one was cool. After finding the remains of a car and some farming equipment Ostara74, LouiseAnn and I followed the gps arrow a bit further on and when we suddenly saw the bones in front of the den we knew we were closing in on "gold". And when we saw what was to be seen when entering...fantastic fun!
Everything was ok with cache and log and soon we walked on with smiles on our faces . This was my seventh cache of the day.
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Norway

Found together with LouiseAnn and ellesaich on a sunny day.
This is the third year that LouiseAnn and I are out here in the area to look for caches while our partners are enjoying a gig nearby. This year we also got company of ellesaich who recently came Down Under for a visit.
I found a total of 23 new caches during our caching trip today and among them were my find number 1000 . Many of the caches we found were very well done and they were all in good shape.
Many thanks to all the owners of the caches we found today and your effort to bring us geocacher to some lovely spots. And Happy New Year!

Heading out with Ostara74 and ellesaich for a day of news years cache hunting around Greendale, Blackwood and on up to Trentham. It was warm but not too warm and a great swag of caches was found. We had a great time and 4 lunches before heading back to Greendale to pick up the drunken boys from their gig. Thanks for the cache mudbrick.

Christmas duties all fulfilled, on a reasonably cool day for December , we fled the city and the long lines of traffic outside the shopping malls to do a bit of much needed exercise and bag a few caches as our reward. This series provided imaginative and humorous caches and, all bar one, were in good condition. We saw plenty of butterflies and birds and a few kangaroos kept pace before vanishing into the scrub.
Noted a few other metallic dinosaurs en route. A jurassic find.
Thanks and cheers!
