a fun day of caching in the Clare region with Countrylad, total of 22 smilies for the day for me.Title: The Quest for Clare's Communal BackyardOnce upon a sunny Saturday morning, in the quaint countryside town of Oakwood, two adventurous souls, CountryLad and Chrispy, set out on a geocaching expedition. Their destination? The legendary Clare's Communal Backyard.CountryLad, with his trusty backpack filled with snacks and supplies, led the way. Chrispy, armed with a GPS device, followed close behind. The rumors about Clare's Communal Backyard were tantalizingthey said it held treasures beyond imagination, hidden by the enigmatic Clare herself. As they ventured deeper into the lush greenery of Oakwood, the excitement bubbled within them. They traversed babbling brooks and dense thickets, their eyes peeled for any sign of the hidden cache. After hours of searching, just when they were about to give up hope, Chrispy's GPS beeped excitedly. They had finally reached their destinationClare's Communal Backyard. The backyard, though seemingly ordinary at first glance, held an air of mystery. CountryLad and Chrispy scanned the area, looking for clues left by Clare. Underneath an old oak tree, partially hidden beneath a pile of leaves, they found a weathered wooden box. With trembling hands, they opened the box, revealing its precious contentsa collection of trinkets, a logbook, and a note from Clare herself. The note detailed Clare's love for geocaching and her desire to share the joy of exploration with others.Filled with gratitude and excitement, CountryLad and Chrispy added their own treasures to the boxa handmade keychain and a heartfelt message. They signed their names in the logbook, sealing their place in the history of Clare's Communal Backyard. As they made their way back home, the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the countryside. CountryLad and Chrispy laughed and reminisced about their adventure, already planning their next geocaching quest. For in the heart of Oakwood, amidst the rolling hills and whispering trees, Clare's Communal Backyard would forever remain a beacon of adventure and camaraderie for geocachers near and far. And CountryLad and Chrispy? They would always cherish the memories of their unforgettable journey.Come visit SA's longest running annual event -GCAK1D5- keep the weekend free - 7th - 10th June 2024 Can't wait!!2439
Lovely little stroll along the slightly sludgey area, quick stop off sign and back on the road and onto the next cache. Tftc!
Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin, down the Centre and in the Flinders. After spending some time in Peterbough and Minlaton we moved to Moonta to grab finds in Moonta and surrounds. Out on wet and misty day run to Clare and caching en route. Thanks for the hide.
Southern Autumn adventure Day 31. Mid North section of SA trip Day 2. Today was my first full day around C;are. I had planned to get straight onto the rail trail, but having started a LAB set yesterday, I had a GZ for a bonus. This led me to a loop to the west of Clare that took most of the morning. It was not until after lunch I managed to get out on the trail. It was peaceful and there were a few other users. A fun day with a few very creative caches.
Once I found my way in, I was soon able to zero in on GZ and noticed an interesting item that turned out to be the cache.
Thanks for the cache reidpondy

Away for a couple of days with TheWhiteDogGang.
We stayed at the free camping in Blyth and cached around Blyth, Brinkworth, Yacka, Spalding, Clare, Stanley Flat and surrounds.
Most caches found were in good order.
We weren't sure how to access GZ so we parked close by and rushed off and made the find.

Back in Ardrossan for harvest work. Still very little work with all the wet weather that has been around so we decided to head to Clare for a caching run. Sunday all went to plan until about 3pm when the sky got black then the wind picked up and the hail and rain tried to blow us off a hill. Not to mention during the day a pigeon crapped where we'd rather forget [xx(] and Mr Felix got a very large splinter in his arm which took a bit of retrieval.
Monday we woke to the fact that it had continued to rain all night and was now freezing having gone from 22degrees yesterday to 10 this morning. [8] So we decided to tackle a few previously solved puzzles before heading directly back to Ardrossan.
We managed to find your cache on our sojourn.

2m away finds a suspicious looking object (kicks it then pickes it up) detofimbars: you found it!
Heading towards GZ and noticed a native directly in our path so decided to defer the attempt for another time.
Another cache found on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. We have a cold, blustery and rainy day in Clare today, just perfect for Geocaching.
We are enjoying our time travelling SA, fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Our thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.

Day ten of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
A very chilly day in Clare. It started with a lot of rain, and some domestics for us, then a few gaps in the clouds and some cache collected by foot and by car.
No one playing in the backyard today - possibly a bit chilly.
Nice hide that BB spotted.
Thanks, Robmc.

#19101. Day 10. of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. The first of a f ew days in Clare and we didn't get off to a good start with the weather, after heavy rain last night. Today we put off going out until this afternoon. Managed to collect 13 today although we were mistakenly dating them the 24th until I realised the error.
Rather wet and boggy through here this afternoon. Took a little while before I spied the very neat container. Well done.
Thanks reidpondy

The JAMS team (JJ52, allister w, mogni, sir_spectre) along with tallbikestan left home early to head up to Clare for the June Long Weekend and of course we didn't go straight there. We had a few detours along the way which made for an interesting day travelling around stopping at Truro, Eudunda, Worlds End, Burra and Mintaro with the occasional cache in between.
Our final day in Clare and we headed out early to get a few caches and complete the Adventure Lab in Gleeson Wetlands before heading home. [^]
Once we were at the right parking coords it was a short walk to find the cache.
Thanks for the cache reidpondy.

found after doing the nearby lab cache and going to the adventure lab bonus cache. quick find.
The JAMS team (( JJ52, Allister W, Mogni, and sir_spectre ) plus TallBikeStan for this trip ) are headed off to the 20 th JuneLongWeekend Event in Clare. As you would expect extension poles, blow up kayaks, waders and ladders are in the car. I am sure every one else takes 11 hours to reach Clare from Adelaide, i am also sure via Burra is the logical to Clare . There was many photos taken of the fun times we had, even involving a ladder in the creek and of course many dirt roads ventured down. All caches for the weekend where stamped as JAMS and some more caches where placed on our travels. The missing JAMS member Michells&hound joined us in our B&B in Clare but didn't join with us for the JLWE game. The weather slowly got better over the weekend. It's good to see some gadget and creative caches around Clare that are permeant and not temp game caches.

Took a few turns to find our way in and then it was a short walk and a quick find. Thank you, reidpondy; cache #4084.
Definitely felt odd being here and the big old ‘grey’ likely wondered what on earth I was doing! Fifth day in SA and The Riesling Trail was high on the list along with a few other random caches. Hope to tick all boxes before heading to home base. I’m out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game
Found it TFTC Found in good condition. Log was full replaced with new one courtesy of KGang
DNF unfortuently, was a small yellow kinder surprise egg shell but had nothing in it.
Headed north for a day of random caches and great views.
So many times we have driven nearby and left it "for next time".
A quick walk in today soon found the sneaky cache fixture!
thanks for the smiley reidpondy

Happy 9th distanced day of Christmas!
Avoid bugs (except travel bugs) - avoid people - cache the regions !
Out team caching with Jack for a great start to #2020won !
This weekend, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to the Clare Valley for a bit of wine tasting and cycling the Riesling Trail. We were treated to great sunny weather, and nice to have been visiting the wine region.
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I started the day by heading north around Clare to visit a few miscellaneous locations and old churches. We then made our way to Polish Hill River, and then on to Mintaro where we participated in the famous maze. After visiting *Taylors Wines* for a wine and chocolate tasting, we had a final session cycling along the Riesling Trail north from Watervale. We then made the return home, briefly stopping at Tarlee, Stockport, and Hamley Bridge.
We parked nearby (perhaps illegally, but at least it was only for five minutes), and wandered up the creek/reserve to GZ. It was quite the nice area. It did take a few minutes before I finally spotted the cache, and the cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks reidpondy for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/@jesswrigley stamp.

This morning i decided to head to Clare for a half days caching and to attend a breakfast club event. An early start for 4:45am and came away with 51 finds by lunch time.

Today I headed out with SnappyTomCats and Dunmowin...
It was a tight squeeze in one vehicle but it made for an interesting trip...
We headed to Clare as there were quite a few caches to be found...
STC's had already found this one so MrDM & I walked in to grab this cache along the creek...which did not have any water in it...fortunately for us...
We did discover we could have come in from a closer spot but the walk gave us an opportunity to stretch our legs...
The clever cache was spotted after a short search...

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
In the Barossa, staying in Nuri with our good friends Snappy Tom Cats. HevWalker joined us for the weekend, so we devised an area around Clare that we had not cached, and they had quite a few they had not yet found. Set off with lunch packed and gps's loaded
We took the long way round, but eventually found a way in. Apparently we could have entered from the other side, down a driveway, but were reluctant to try that option. Thanks reidpondy

Sorry about the Generic Log, Many found and many to log from a few weeks ago.
The usual troupe of a Rat, Adder and Starfish on their Wednesday day out, today up North. Thanks for all the caches although I can not remember them all. The logs of the others pretty much describes the hide, find and adventure. TFTC

Not too many finds for me today but I revisited a few DNFs
that unfortunately remain DNFs.
We wandered in from the lower end of the backyard. The snake soon spotted the cache and had it in hand.

#6373 - 10:30; Day 5 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune. After a night in Burra, today we decided to head down to Clare for some sightseeing and caching then caching our way back to Burra before picking up some caches around the town. We were now caching in Clare when we made our way to this odd piece of parkland. Managed to find a way in and soon had the cache in hand. TFTC reidpondy

A quick find after a short walk through the long wet grass. A nice solid container. Was tempted to take an orange or two while here but thought. I better not. Thanks.
At the Big Clare Bike Bash. Thanks to all who organised this get together, transported bikes and vehicles etc. We were able to add a few caches not on the bike trail. Thanks reidpondy for placing this cache for us to find when in the area
Found with Gordon Patrick Samuel after a short walk along the communal backyard. All quiet here today allowing for a quick find. Thanks for the cache reidpondy!
After completing the RT Series and we decided to do a couple of extra caches to wile away the time before the Dinner event. We, along with Bek- theRacoon, Alex- theSquirrel and Ride the Geowalrus set of to find this one. Bek made the find and we all signed. TFTC

We had some time to spare before attending Clean up Australia Day, so we went for a wander up this great little communal backyard for a couple of caches first.
What a lovely bit of crown land! Saw the evidence of kids having built a humpy, and a few other bits and bobs. Cache found easily.

Logging this cache a bit out of order from when we found it today but wanted to log it before someone else found it. Interesting little area. A bit put off about the hide until we read the description. Didn't see any geo kids in the backyard but left a pathtag for you in the cache.

Wet and muddy in the back yard today but I think this hide should stay pretty dry. TFTC. Cheers
Having found the one, a quick and pleasant walk brought me to this, another well hidden:). I was trying out a different GPS and happy with the result. It's beautiful day, with a few showers moving through and lots of mushies about. TFTC TNLNSL

Glorious weather made this caching excursion in the Clare Valley most pleasant. In conjunction with The Drovers we travelled the highways and byways finding caches. Nice one, enjoyed finding this cache. Thanks to reidpondy.
After completing our 2nd trip around Australia, we are now going up through the center.
Currently camped at Auburn, to cache around the area.
Arrived at GZ, only to be sprung by the CO - nice meeting you all.
Enjoyed a quick chat, after finding the well hidden cache.
Many thanks for the hunt today, reidpondy.
