A quick find while heading to NSW from Yorke Peninsula spending a couple of nights at Bower to grab a few caches.TFTC
Glorious Autumn weather had us boiling the billy in the beautiful Colin Thiele gardens in Eudunda for morning tea and cooking a delicious BBQ at Burra Gorge in the Worlds End Conservation Park for our lunch.During our travels we saw kangas, emus and several goats and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery in the Hallelujah Hills and along the ridge tops. Many thanks for the hide Hurtle
Decided to do a day trip to Morgan, Mt Mary and Bower area for a day’s caching which included the Tour Down Under series. Manage to get 55 for the day which is a personal best. Had a fantastic day looking around. All caches were in good condition unless mentioned otherwise. TFTC
Wow, would have been a beauty in its day with a few more walls and a verandah . TFTF Hurtle, cache all good. Worth the slight deviation from my goal for today.
Found during a caching circuit from Truro, Bower, Australia Plains and Eudunda with Team Waldron for the day. Toured the backroads to find many out-of-the-way caches and completed the TdU 1999-2022 series along the way. Another fine homestead that could do with a patch-up of masonry and mortar, and a lick of paint. Thanks for the cache Hurtle!

After a freezing night we headed out early with iluvtrekking to explore the surrounding rural areas - our kind of caching. Cache missing - left replacement at base of tree. Advised CO. Thanks Hurtle
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
It was a freezing morning in the Barossa but the sun is shining and the day is warming up nicely, perfect for caching. TFTC.

We enjoyed a day caching from Eudunda towards Sutherlands, Bowen and some more of the TDU trail we hadn’t done.
Then followed a circuit back via Australia Plains to Eudunda.
Spent quite a while ferreting around in the tree but had no luck today
Many thanks for the hide Hurtle

No luck today. Saw the previous DNF but no coverage to get any more details. With no hint, didn't know where to put a replacement.
Out and about today to clean up a few on the backroads of Kapunda and beyond.. Arrived at GZ and discovered a lake at the front of the property covering the road and lapping at the tree. Made our way around the pond and had a thorough search in the tree, but no luck today. will watchlist. TFTC
Today I headed north for a day of caching around Eudunda. It was a perla of a day for caching perfect temperature, blue skies and it was good to be alive.
Found around 50 caches for the day. Saw loads of sleepy lizards tying to cross the roads.
Lovely area will be back soon for more. So many caches to find so little time.
Found the original cache couldn’t find the one Gridge and JJ52 replaced. TFTC

Another story lost. One can only wonder about the blood sweat and tears of these people. Was it lack of water or lack of will that was the issue.
Thanks to Hurtle and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]
Today we had a caching day with Astro in the area. Great weather and, even more important, great company resulted in a wonderful and productive day. We circled the area a couple of times before locating this cache which blended very well into the tree. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Hurtle for the cache.
as we have a look around the area this was one of the caches we found
The property owner wasnt to please to see me here
A good day was had while grabbing these caches
Thanks Hurtle for placeing them

With a packed lunch we set off for some of the out of the way mid north caches, love discovering these reminders of our past and the struggles of living off the land, still in one piece almost when so many dotted around the area are reduced to rubble or just a fire place, cache was soon discovered

TFTC nice find quick drive by out and about with geo wife LynSteNet what a beautiful old manor

The cache was quickly located by geo hubby Animal62 whilst I imagined how spectacular this home would have been & the stories these walls could tell if only walls could speak.
The cache was found, the logbook signed & dated before being returned back to its hiding place.

I did not make it to the early morning CITO but a spur of the moment decision had me meeting up with gridge98 at Mawson Lakes to head up to Eudunda to find some out of the way caches that we both had not found. I left home at 7:30am and returned at 8:30pm after a big day with 49 finds. We did a big loop finishing in Kapunda and I think this was a record for me with the number of multis found in a day.
We arrived at this one and spent quite a long time circling the tree, looking low and then after reading logs looked a bit higher but we could not find any cache. After a quick call to the CO we were able to replace the cache for others to find. Spent a bit of time looking at this old ruin...it would have been great to see it in its heyday.
Thanks for the cache Hurtle.

We arrived here today. The search began and after many circles around the tree nothing could be found. It appeared that the cache had been replaced in 2016 and not by the CO but still couldn’t be found. A quick call to the CO and the cache was replaced as per the hint to keep it alive and this one in the series going
Cache and contents are all good
After an early morning CITO on Anstey Hill, I met up with JJ52 to go caching for the day. With not much of a plan other than to cache around Eudunda for the day. We went from cache to cache finding 49 caches for the day and ending up in Kapunda after a big loop. A lot of middle of no where/back roads with 2 brown snakes spotted on our journey.
Thanks for the cache

Found and repaired the canister with tape but it was broken and had fallen from it's place onto the ground. Needs maintenance.
Great spot out on the plains, but sad to see so many of these beautiful homes left to decay. TFTC Hurtle
Day two of my work trip, I came from the back way to this one as I was working North of Bower.. and well I took a few turns the wrong way and ended up at a dead end... few more turns the other way and I finally made it.. Another Gem!! deff added it to my monterra and will be back also to this one

2 Lost Heritage caches in one afternoon is always good. Thanks for getting us to look at our history Hurtle.
Quick find while waiting geo daughter to start playing net ball at Robertstown TFTC
Spoke to the owner of this building and he said it was the old Gum Vale School. No further information was forthcoming sorry.
Yes, if only the walls could talk. Maybe farmers are so rich they just abandon houses like we would abandon a non-functioning piece of electrical equipment Thanks
Suscoe headed out for a day's caching in the company of Phetlern.
It was a warm day, just perfect for caching.
We enjoyed our time searching in a variety of locations.
We did the TdF trail as well as those on the return to Morgan.
With 4 pairs of eyes we found most of the caches quickly and then kept moving.
Thanks to Hurtle for showing us this terrific old building. We have discussed the hardships that these early settlers must have experienced all those years ago.

After completing the Tour de France, with Team Suscoe, this is one of the caches we needed to find as part of post race warm down before returning to the caravan park. Slim reminders of the magnificence now.
Thanks to Hurtle for the hunt.

Considering the amount of vehicle tracks in and out of the nearby gate, we were half expecting to have to explain what we were doing here [8)].
Fortunately, no-one around today and we were gone without a sign of traffic .
TNLNSL.
Thanks for one more Huurtle.

In 2 hours we were caching here we saw 3 brown snakes (2 not so alive) 6 roos (2 living) a couple of dead wombats, dodged a few living shingle backs, 1 bearded dragon (also alive) & watched helplessly as a little bird flew into our radiator.
GPS had me at the fenceline but the cache was in a different spot but was a quick find. TFTC

Grabbed a few caches in the area after cutting a bit of firewood nearby.Nice to see the area looking green after a bit of rain..TFTC
The manor is looking a bit sad today as it is missing the front wall
From a distance as I approached it still looked like a lived in home
Ah well !! A 'renovator's delight' as the real estate agent would say !!
Out front I found me a cache and was happy to walk away from this one

Intriguing and impressive. So many questions, so few answers. Unfortunately such a magnificent building has fallen to hard time as so many others north of the Goyder line. Thanks Huurtle.
What a fun day this one was! 35 smileys including 2 FTFs while out with Dennisc52 and earthlight for a fantastic day.
We had planned to get to Clare to locus caches but instead we found ourselves at Kapunda and Eudunda
Such is geocaching
Beautiful old buildings.Sure would be interesting to know why they were abandoned!
