Day 16 of my fortnight+ road trip up to Brisbane and back to Blue Mountains. With my geomobile repairs not completed in Brisbane, heading home via a rental car.An easy find in Tenterfield. TFTC Dowdie Nice to have a break from driving.
Thanks to the hint, we located the little blighter reasonably quickly for a hide of this type. The logbook is totally full. So we have provided a new one as a replacement. Thanks fir the cache.
#8232Back o Bourke Day 4! Inverell-Armidale, via Kyogle. Were on a road-trip chasing some LGAs we need between Coonamble and Kyogle, via Bourke. The car is packed with TOTTs and snacks and we are prepared for long drives and short walks, hoping to gather the required LGAs, hopefully finding fun caches that contribute to various challenges and goals we are working towards. We are working on a D3 and T3 challenge, so will go for any 3's any time....But - we tend to struggle with gun/tank/train/tractor caches, with a resultant pretty high DNF ratio! This one was different, Samuel had the cache out before I arrived and had a chance to even check log photos. Thanks for the (very) tiny cache.
#8232Day 4 of our Northern/Western NSW Roadtrip.Inverell -> Armidale via 2 missing LGAs. (Tenterfield + Kyogle)The shortest of all our days so far, and the most caching. From Inverell, then north to Tenterfield, ducking in and out of Kyogle, then heading back south to Armidale for the night. Not enough time to grab everything, and definitely no 1.5/1.5s! end of copy paste That would be a D5 without the hint, but the hint made it a very quick find! TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Dowdie
Found it 16/8/2024. unable to sign as the log is full and needs replacing. Great hint though.
We usually cringe from these type of caches. We would have no hope but thanks to hint found the cache quickly.. many thanks
Third time travelling through town in the past year ... today I made time to stop for two cache hunts. No GPS on hand today ... I took a guess at where the hiding place could be ... and wa-lah there it rested.TNLNSL.TFTC ...
Traveling on an over 55 bus trip - Tamworth, Armidale, Dorrigo, Tenterfield, Byron Bay, Coffs Harbourand more. Hunting for caches on the way. Don't always have much time - but logging where I can. This is #12 for this trip my smallest find everThanks for the cache (Log is full)
Bee did an AdLab whole Boot made the find. Not too much searching thanks to the hint. *The generic bit for this trip*We are on now on our way south after heading north for warmer weather. From Cooktown back to Notth East Victoria, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
This is the type of cache we often cringe and walk away from in our travels, but with a good clue Mrs SKI made the find.Today we took the short trip from Glen Innes to Tenterfield another older town with lots of history and interesting buildings. We collected a few caches on the way before arriving round lunch time. In the afternoon we headed into town to look around and complete the Lab and Wherigo. before heading bit wider to search for a range of other caches.A good day with warm sunny weather.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Dowdie.**SKI Pair****
Found on a Winter day with Roostaman, on our Winter escape trip. . Thanks for the cache Dowdie, ***MrsRoosta***
Found it on our 2024 Winter escape trip. On the way North and a few more caches. The log sheet is full but we logged it in a tiny space. Thanks for the cache Dowdie, ***Roostaman***
Signed and replaced as found. Many thanks for the cache. Log is full. Signs as JDT if space is limited
Was here today with Micjor and LadySim walking around the town and spending some money supporting the locals. I was pulled out of the local Vinnies to grab this cache. One of the Michor crew made the find....eventually. as previously stated the log is full. Sorry but I didn't have any with me.
Staying in Tenterfield the night and a walk presented an opportune time for a sneaky cache. Searched for a little while before checking the clue and then a quick find. Log is full but scratched out an AZ and replaced as found
(13 of 13 today - including 5 Adventure Labs)Time to start the drive back home, but thought Id grab a variety of cache types before I recross the border.Noticed that if o went via Tallebudgera I could pick up four different types. So why not.Started by doing the ALs, Mystery and Multi together in Schusters Park. Then scampered off to a Letterbox. After that I headed over the border, and got as far as Tenterfield. Never stayed there before - so decided to hole up and grab a few caches here before sunset.Got 13 all up. Top day.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###This is not one of my favourite types of cache.Even after going to the hint it took a while before I made the grab.Very full log - squeezed myself on. Need replacing but unfortunately I dont have an appropriate one with me.Time to kick back for the night.SLTNLNTFTC
Very unsure and uneasy finding this one with I think was the police station next to me. Took about very uneducated on these types of weapons but after about 10 minutes it was found. Log very full so photo proof of find. TFTC.
Last cache of the day was a quick find, thanks to the hint. With my name added to the log and everything returned as found, I headed off to find something to eat. TFTC
Log completely full, initialled CQ at #25. No spare on hand. Beware of wasps..... TFTC
Took a minute but the hint was very helpful. Unfortunately the log is full so just took a picture. TFTC!
A quick find with a good hint. Unfortunately log is now over full. Thanks for the cache and
Found it and then nearly lost it in the garden as I thought it was a bug and freaked out log is totally full and needs attentionTFTC
Its a gun, but found with help from the hint. Usually I dont spend time looking in spider infested places, no worries here. Placement of gun is interesting, read the notice board. Log plus full but I found a tiny place.
Found fairly quickly with the help of the hint, which guided us into the right direction.Tftc
Holy fudge is it cold! Suns out, not a cloud in the sky, yet really cold. Cache found, concerned about this one as there could be a lot of spots, but we found it eventually. Log full.
And we thought Toowoomba was cold.....

Passing through town and while having a look around passed by the gz and after a short search, hint really helped though had the cache in hand. Log full! Thanks dowdie for the hide.

We had the opportunity to spend Easter in Stanthorpe so took advantage of the days off to find some caches while we were here. Today we headed south to explore Tenterfield. So many potential hiding spots we were certainly very happy to have the hint. It made for a nice short hunt. I actually knocked the cache to the ground as I was feeling for it. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.
Found on a wet & dreary afternoon with the family while away for the Easter weekend. Cache found, but log was difficult to extract, so we sent a photo to the CO for confirmation of the find. Great hide. TFTC.
On a wet dreary afternoon waiting for the laundromat, we decided to take in some caches. Many eyes hunting made for relatively quick find . Log unable to be removed, probably a bit damp. TFTC
Last fin pd for the morning before back to the show ground to collect caravan and better half before out next leg. Took a while and couldn’t manage to extract log but made a mark on the edge TFTC
On my way to Glen Innes and found this was a great place to stop and stretch my legs. Found quickly but wasn’t able to sign the log - couldn’t get it out of the case and didn’t have the right tools with me today. Thank you!
Embarrassed with how long it took me to find. I should have paid more attention to the hint! Log is full so unable to sign, but have got a photo of the cache
Needs new log as I used the last little spot to fit my name
Hint spot on.

Blkthunder and I are on our way home from seeing family in Tamworth… our 7 hour drive will undoubtedly turn into a 12 hour marathon…
Time for just one more cache before we cross back into Queensland…. Only found with the help of the hint….

Travelling through Tenterfield today and I was hoping to turn my frown upside down. It was a good opportunity for my geodog to have a drink in the shade while I searched for the cache. Today I came up trumps

Hint was spot on!! Thanks
We are heading south from Brisbane in 2023 and picking up as many new LGA’s as we can.
What a year Sandyofthesea and I have had. We kitted out the Prado and took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April 2022 to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We started with the Nullabour, Eyre and York Peninsulas, the Riverlands, visited family in Victoria and then back in SA it got cold. Flinders and the Oodnadatta Track was amazing and we finally warmed up in Dalhousie Springs. The Alice beckoned and then a change of plan and we ended up tackling the Tanami Track to the Kimberley and Bungles Bungles. Territory Day in Darwin was unhinged - please try and do it! The Gulf, the coast and the car breaker ‘Old Tele Track’ to the top of Cape York. This is a must but it’s not easy! Eventually made it to Brisbane to get some fixes to the car….. let’s see where we end up.
Dowdie, I found Guns of war today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Very quiet here today. I would not have liked to search here otherwise. Found easily enough, but had to ask Mrs George to fetch fine point tweezers so I could extract the log sheet. Added in a blank space then went through the fun game of fitting the log roll back into the container. On a similar sized cache on the Bruce Highway north of Rockhampton I managed to drp the rolled log sheet and spent about 20 minutes trying to find it on the rough ground. Kept a firm hold on it today. TFTC, Dowdie.
I was happily surprised to locate this cache today. I had trouble getting the log out, then I had trouble putting it back. Log is quite full
On the way home and stoped of to see if we could find. Nice and quick, hint helped to narrow it down

After 3 try’s I came back and found it within 30 seconds after seeing how small it was from another log. I always thought it was there but too scared to put my hand there but this time I was like stuff it I’m gonna put my hand there. I can’t believe it was were we thought it was the hole time.

Found TFTC. Out and about from Mackay Qld. Dreary weather in this beautiful town of Tenterfield.
A very interesting spot!
We are on our way home towards North Brisbane.

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 19 – On the slow trek home so today’s journey was from Tenterfield to Tamworth with many caching stops along the way.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise mentioned.
This one took a bit of a search before finally coming up with the goods.
Thanks for the hide Dowdie and keeping this hobby alive.

Not my favorite type of hide but I got there after a while. As small as they come! Thanks Dowdie.
