Logs
Went for this early morning, crisp and cool. There were lots and lots of logs around and had no luck looking in any of them. It could well have been moved as there are many new ones cut and bits and pieces of others around the place. Doesnt mean its not there though. Unlike others who logged a find just by getting to the car park I wont do that because we didnt actually FIND the cache. Thats not the right thing to do. TFTC
We saw it but we couldnt get to it. The whole car park was closed off for maintenance. Thanks.
On way to dalby for a motorhome rally when stopped for this oneNote log needs urgently replacing
Beautiful little area. I parked down the first part and walked up (didn't want to accidentally drive past it) a quick find and sign. Beautiful nature and birds to listen to. Tftc
Taking a leisurely trip from my home to NSW Central Coast to visit my sone and grand-daughter, and picking up a few caches along the way.
Cache found without difficilty in the expected area, the cache area is definitely not suitable for a cacravan behind!!!!
Cache in good condition.

Found with stairman1. Our second attempt. Stairman1 was adamant he was going to find this one. When we arrived at GZ there was no one there. We had geodogs in the car who were begging to stretch their legs. I told them it was NP and they had to hold on. Just as well. 5 mins later a park ranger turned up . She asked us what we were doing. “Nothing” I said. “Looking for a geocache” says stairman1. “Ok” said the ranger and off she went.
Stairman1 widened his search and soon had the container in hand. No stinging nettle today.TFTC

Not sure why every time someone can’t find a cache they log a maintenance request. It is still there and hard to find. Like most caches in the world.
Stopped here quickly on a day out. As I had no reception I had to use geosenses. I tried the first logical spot but came up empty. Spied another great location but was attacked by a burning plant on my way in, so quickly abandoned the hunt in search of quick relief in the car. Will come back more prepared on the way back if there’s time.
Stung by stinging nettle to try and find it. If it’s where the cache says it is, it needs attention. Kids were disappointed, particularly my 6yr old niece who I was trying to introduce to Geocaching after climbing Mt Cordeaux
Instinct did not let me down, quick find with the wife. Cache is damp needs a dry out. Debris was under the seal.
Bit tricky for my chemo legs lol. Will bring person with better footing next time
A long awaited trip from the Gold Coast to meet up with geo friends for a weekend of caching in and around the district.
When I arrived at the parking area, E_Smiley had been searching but stopped due to being stung by some nasty prickley plant. After some medication we were back on the hunt and soon found the sneaky hide which was well covered.
Thanks Dowdie for the good cache placement

Another find on Peppa and PirateLinda's Brisbane to Stanthorpe Jaunt.
Making our way home after a fantastic few days in and around Stanthorpe Peppa declares we might just grab a couple more on the way home. Quick find for this one.

PirateLinda and I have spent a chilly weekend in Stanthorpe… having found over 100 caches it’s been a huge weekend… everything on the must do list… plus a swag more… challenges, oldies, hikes, Earthcaches… and an intimate event in the pub…
But there’s time for just one more… my map had me on the other side of the road, but the flattened grass lead me somewhere else…

After a very early start to the day yes 4 am on the second coldest day in the year. Willis007 and I left Brisbane and headed to Stanthorpe and Girraween for a walk and catchup with a few other crazy people. It got to -4 degrees at one point of the journey but that did not stop the enthusiasm of the group.
We had a big day consisting of some walks around Girraween, some cache trails around Stanthorpe and neighbouing towns and an event dinner at a local pub. On the way home and to break up the trip, plus to keep us awake, we did a couple more caches. There is always time for one more.
This one I was not so sure of as to whether I would find it, it seems to have a hit miss constant ratio. It was dark and with just the light of the phone I did a quick look around. I found it straight away, puzzled as to why so many dnfs I grabbed the cache and moved into the headlights of the car, so as I could sign the log. Turns out my buddy signed it 10 years ago, lol, of well, it is in the new log too now. Back in the car and homeward bound, thanks for the cache and the hide.

Had a good look around for this one but could not locate. There were some new looking tree branches in the area.
Today, Beardman75 and I used the opportunity of Warwick's CITO to take a trip south-west from Brisbane. In the morning, we hiked in the Goomburra Section of Main Range National Park, following the Ridge track, followed by the northern section of the Cascades circuit. We then made the dash to Warwick to collect rubbish at the CITO event, and then spent the afternoon visiting Locations of the three Adventure Labs *Forgotten gates of Warwick*, *Warwick ~ Roses and Rodeo*, and *Warwick Historical buildings and sites*. We then made the return home and completed a couple of driveby geocaches.
Our final cache and stop for the day - wow this area was certainly unexpected and hidden from the nearby busy road, so something I will remember in the future. This cache was also one of the last few caches that I had to find along this route, so it was good to call past today, especially with a previous finder (Beardman75). We spent a good 5-10 minutes searching around, and it was certainly a difficult hide, perhaps harder than at the time of its replacement due to all the growth and prickly ivy, but after searching a little deeper in a logical spot, we found the cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Dowdie for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Heading to Moogerah Dam for a hike I left a little early to pick up a few caches on the way. I stopped in here and had a little search, once I got into the foliage I uncovered the cache. Signed log and replaced as found. Tftc Dowdie

Our second cache stop and second DNF of the day. Not how we like to start. Alas, geohubby WallabyTim found a stinger and I had no idea which plants are nasty and which are not so we had did our best before deciding to move on.
Beware - suspected Gympie Gympie stinging tree adjacent to hide area next to car park
There were too many different sized logs and we looked through all of them and still no luck.
We thought we can beat the rain today but this was not possible. We went to Queen Mary and Daggs Falls, which had water in abundance. It was with awe watching the water fall.On our way back we stopped in this little, beautiful hidden park and found the cache after a little search. TFTC Dowdie
Nyssaflutterby and I were headed off on an adventure and she stopped here so I could find this cache she had found a while back. What a nice quiet spot! My phone wanted me on the wrong side of the road but eventually common sense led me to the cache.
Got it as we transitted north with the caravan on the back. Lovely rest area. Fav point alloc thanks
This one gets a fav point because we have not found this little rest area despite numerous trips over the gap and look forward to return visits! Will note for others this was a small container not a micro which would have made a difference to how we looked... also keep your eyes peeled as you look around I managed to trip into a lovely stinging nettle bush (own fault I am a klutz!) !
Good place to turn around after a walk to bare rock.
Bellbirds a plenty!
Thank you for placing this geocache Dowdie

After a hike to Bare Rock, stopped here with Karicka and made a quick find. No trackable in the container though. Thanks for the cache
Day 3 of our Granite Belt Grabathon saw us heading North back to the GC. At least today is not wet! The temperature may reach 13 degrees today but the wind is stronger so probably still an apparent temperature of around 6 degrees. No one ever said the Geocaching was meant to be easy!
Nice spot off the road. Picked up the TB

Out on the highway. On a Sunday, driving for the view the missus said STOP THERES ONE HERE. Easy find if your looking slow and low. Thanks guys. Have fun.
Thank you for the cache - a little stealth required, revealed the cache a good working order

Good idea placing the Silica bag in with the log ... too many logs I’ve found that have been almost ruined from moisture.

Heading South from Brisbane to Wollongong adding caches on the way. Thanks to all the COs for their placement and I apologise for the generic posts on this route. SL TFTC
Found with eliton159, OlitonGaming and John4068. Certainly not a micro cache! Thanks for bringing us somewhere to hear the bell birds - that was an unexpected bonus on our “country drive” from Brisbane.
Yea ,Found it with SciFiRulz TFTC NicNacs while we are traveling from Sydney to Brisbane.
Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. Took a little while to narrow down where it was hidden, more of a small than a micro. Picked up TB. Lovely area, the birds were calling constantly. TFTC

I’ve never collected a trackable before but there’s one here I’ll take on a journey up to CQ!
I walked the hard way from the spot I parked the car to find this one. Made the find and took it back to the car so I could dry the contents and place it all back safe n sound.
Being a local and new to geocaching means I’ve driven past here thousands of times. Fantastic spot. TFTF.
Wow what an amazing spot. We stopped here for some afternoon tea on our journey up the range. There were a couple of times when the traffic noise stopped and you could really appreciate the sounds of the bell birds amongst others. I took some sound recordings for the memory. Pity they can't be posted here.
With the only people in the park it was an easy find.
Thanks for the cache.

On the way back home to brisbane from a fantastic day of yakking at maroon damn a walk at queen mary falls and other falls my muggle friend lei and i were collecting some smilies on the way. What a beautiful pit stop this was. Could here all the birds singing. Thankyou for placing this cache here for us to enjoy and for taking us to this lovely spot.
Had an unplanned stop to fix up something on the trailer so why not find the nearby cache while here. My sats wouldn't settle and I got stung by a nettle in my search but eventually got the log signed!

Today's mission was a cache in the middle of Maroon dam.
With that completed we had time to find a few more on our way home.
A quick find here.

Have stopped for this cache before, but had to stop again for this is a wonderful hidden gem of a rest area , teeming with bird life and surrounded by rainforest . Visited our newly acquired TBs from Armidale, then we were back on the road again for Brisbane .
Picked a tricky day to go caching as it's the holiday tomorrow so everyone's out and exploring! But managed to sneak it back in place. Love this spot, those birds are amazing
Found by Mary & David at 1420. Hi. That little newborn must be about 3 years plus by now. What a lovely story about cache placement. A FP from us for putting one here. We could hear bell birds, a whip bird, and there was green grass and good facilities. Our children are now 44, 42 and 39. Our thanks to Dowdie.
That was tricky! Especially as all of GZ is littered with logs. Eventually found the right one at 2m, although I’d personally consider this more a stump. Swapped a pea pod for some smiley stickers , and popped the logbook into a spare ziplock bag for protection. This was a wonderful hidden rest area. Thanks for the relaxing time.
