25-Feb-24
Well after a whirl wind tour of Tasmania to help with 3 challenges that Im working on, I got back in late Tuesday night then packed the Geowagon and headed off to SA early Wednesday morning to attend the Leap Year Mega and to also tick off some LGAs along the way as well.Well after crossing the border the other day and staying in Millicent, Wellington, Cape Jervis and the Kingscote last night its time to head to Adelaide for a week.Kangaroo Island had been on my bucket list for ages and I have been able to finally tick that one off. After getting off the ferry it is LGA time again so a bit of zig zagging as Im not taking the most direct route to Adelaide. Now to learn some animal facts. My maps said one thing, gates and tracks said another but I worked out how to get to this one.Found somewhere to park the Geowagon and off I went in search of this one.Continued along the track on foot past the very loud barking dogs and got to this one.I added my name to the log and now to get the next and and also a bit closer to my destination. Thanks LB TFTC.

Out caching around Kuitpo forest and Prospect hill today. An enjoyable ride around to pick up the Animal Facts caches on this side of the forest. Some took a bit longer to spot than others, but found them all in the end. Only a couple had wet logbooks, otherwise all were in good knick. Slowly getting towards the end of the walk here and the searching for caches, though there was some doubling back still to occur to look for a few caches on different paths. A straightforward find though a slightly challenging retrieval, assuming I have remembered this one correctly! TFTC LíB

20-Feb-22
After a big day out kayaking yesterday, I needed to give my arms and shoulders a rest so dime bush walking was on the cards today.

I had a very enjoyable day predominately bush walking and Geocaching around the Kuitpo Forest. I spotted kangaroos, a koala and an abundance of butterflies. Some GZs were amongst high “snakey looking “ grass, I am happy to report no snake encounters today.

I did suffer a couple of DNFs but still had a great day and got lots of exercise.

Thanks for the cache 3LG.

One took up residence on my balcony in Sydney. Stayed for ages. We named her Stella.

After a morning brunch event in the heart of Mt. Barker, I’ve decided to stay in the area and chip away a few more of all these animals. The area used for this part of this huge series is currently very soggy, and I was on limited time, so no big numbers today. All caches found were in good condition. I’d love to know what the total count on this series is - a question for the next event maybe. Thanks LíB.

27-Sep-20
Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I headed to Kuitpo with our mountain bikes to ride the Kuitpo / Prospect Hill trails. For a warm-up, we first stopped off at the northern-eastern side of the vicinity around Choorkaloo Camp Site to find a few remaining *Animal Facts* caches and others around the place. We then had a proper session on our mountain bikes, before closing out the day with a short walk in the southern side in Kyeema Conservation Park, and a few drive-by caches between Meadows and Echunga.

A nice ride along these fire tracks, and this cache was in a good hiding spot. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks 3LG/@LíB for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/@jesswrigley stamp.

Today we focussed on the Animal Facts caches in the Kuitpo Forest area. We tried to make an early start because of the forecast higher temperatures but we started about 30 minutes later than planned. Despite that hiccup we were able to make our way around about more than half of the caches by 1:30pm. We will come back another day to look for the remainder.

Accurate coordinates and an obvious hide location led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks 3LG for the cache and this set of Animal Facts caches.

Ive been wanting to find some of these Kuitpo caches and finally I had some free time thanks to a public holiday and the weather was kind. The dog was very distracted by the horses, who seemed to enjoy teasing her. I found this one nice and dry, and thankfully no cache guardians.

A nice Sunday afternoon walk Cara81 to grab a few caches in this animal facts series. Plenty of water around and we had damp shoes and socks when we had finished. At one point I gave Cara a piggyback across a creek crossing. All the caches we looked for we found and in good condition, a few had damp or wet logs. TFTC

Found on a lovely Father's Day outing with the whole family, as we went on a 5km walk through Kuitpo Forest tracking down some of 3LG's 'Animal Facts' caches. Some of the trail was under water after yesterday's heavy rains, so while today's weather was cloudy but fine, we still ended up with muddy shoes and soggy socks. It is not everyday a dad gets to piggyback his 16 and 13 year old geodaughters as he wades through creeks, LOL! It didn't dampen our spirits though as we racked up the cache finds and had a great day out. TNLNSL TFTC

15-Jan-16
On a lovely day that wasn't too hot I decided to go down to Kuitpo to have a look at 3LG's new cache and clean up the rest of the Animal Facts that I hadn't done. [^]
I decided to bring the bike this time and actually do some "mountain biking" even though pretty tame, but nevertheless the first time I have been off road. Surprised I thoroughly enjoyed the couple of hours that it took me to clean up the remaining 21 caches. Cool
Most of the caches were in good order although a few had torn/broken zip lock bags and some of the logs were damp!! Don't know why that would be as there hasn't been much rain lately...maybe condensation.[?]
Thanks for the cache 3LG. Big Grin

What better way to start the weekend than a 5 hour trundle through a forest finding caches? 41 caches, 4 DNFs, 15 kangaroos and 3 kookaburras. This was the first sizeable one of the day. Left 2 TBs I'd been holding for a while. TFTC

Managed to get all 41 caches in this area today with the Geowife. It drizzled on and off most of the day and took us about 5 hrs / 13km of walking to get them all - quite a rewarding experience - particularly finding them every 5 mins or so as we walked. Saw heaps of kangas, lots of birds and sloshed through countless puddles and overflowing creeks. Cooked up hot noodles and a hot cuppa for lunch at the edge of the forest - a tops day out.
Thanks for the cache!

Day 3 McLaren Vale.
Today we went into the forest searching for some animals. This was our first sunny day in ages, the ground was still wet, slippery & some puddles to negotiate in places.
Hubby walked one section of the trail while I did another.
Thanks for placing this cache 3LG

The Geo Daughters 1pinkexplorer and 1funnyhoney had 2 pupil free days. We thought it would be good to go off camping. What better than to go camping where there are lots of caches to find. Had a great time camping at Chookarloo. Loved finding this cache and a few others near by as it meant that we had to go walking in the forest spending time as a family.

We have broken this trail up into segments as the Geo Daughters are still quite small and we had visitors coming our to have lunch with us. Some nice easy finds, great animal facts and lovely weather and excersise

A sensational break

We camped in the forest reserve nearby for a few days and went out to find some of the AF caches in the area. Thankfully we were able to make most of them drive-bys due to temporary possession of our open-sesame geotool & an official permit to use it. Great scenery around this area and a good time was had locating the various caches. Apologies for the generic logs. Thanks for bringing us out here 3LG.

07-Sep-14
Furrangel and I decided it was time to brush off the cobwebs on the Geobikes ad go for a bit of a ride..

So we set out to do about half of the caches here so we have another excuse to come back. In some places it was unrideable due to the mess the trucks have made due to the recent logging. Also there is plenty of water around making some off the areas very muddy. Which Furrangel found out hehehe... lets just say someone decided to see how cold the water was.. My self I headed for every puddle I could see.. testing my balancing skills... Lets just say i nearly needed a snatch strap in one of the mud holes. lol Other than having to push the bikes at certain parts it was a nice ride and we got more done than we thought.

Looking forward to getting back to do the rest hopefully the water has moved on..

Thanks for the caches 3LG and the now sore bums ..... will deffently be looking at a new seat for the bike! Was also great to see another flock of Yellow Tailed Black Cockatoo's flying but as we aproched the first cache on the list

Sorry for the generic log... you know how it is... and you gotta expect it. Very Happy

07-Sep-14
Darknstormy and i got ourselves up early on this beautiful day and put our bikes on the back of Darknstormy's geowagon and headed to the forest for some bike riding and cache gathering Smile

Most of the path was nice and easy but the tractors have carved up some of the inner paths and bike riding was made alot harder and near impossible in some parts. We also came across some fun water crossings where Darknstormy powered though without fear and i was a bit more unsure and ended up on my butt in a deeper one Razz Where as Darknstormy nearly needed to be towed out of one Razz

I love the size of many of the containers we come across today and all the caches were full of swaps and well looked after which makes it more fun to find Smile

Thanks for bringing us here 3LG and helping us with an excuse to get the bikes nice and muddy( and also our selves) and apologies for a generic log, i wish i could personalize them more but unless we log as we go, i just cant remember all the details Sad

Thanks 3LG Very Happy
